My nightmare trip with Exciting Africa Holidays 1. Broken-down safari vehicles: The cars were ancient and broke down multiple times inside national parks, wasting hours of our trip. Zero regard for passenger safety. 2. Rude, demanding drivers: Instead of guiding us, they spent the whole trip complaining and aggressively begging for tips – made the entire experience uncomfortable and tense. 3. Financial rip-off: They took full payment upfront, then completely stopped responding to any questions or requests. Any minor change to the itinerary came with ridiculous extra charges. 4. THE BIGGEST RED FLAG: This agency is NOT a member of the Kenya Association of Tour Operators (KATO). That means no regulatory body in Kenya holds them accountable. When things went wrong – and they went wrong repeatedly – there was absolutely no one to complain to. No refund, no apology, nothing. My strong advice to all travelers: Before booking ANY safari, demand their KATO membership number. If they can't provide it, walk away. You have zero protection. Save yourself the money and stress – stay far away from Exciting Africa Holidays.
This itinerary offers an excellent, well-rounded East African safari experience at an affordable cost. It combines Kenya’s iconic Masai Mara National Reserve with Tanzania’s vast Serengeti National Park, giving strong chances to see the Big Five and, seasonally, the Great Migration. Scenic highlights like Mount Kilimanjaro in Amboseli National Park add visual appeal. Budget accommodations (camps/lodges) help keep costs low, though travel days can be long and sometimes tiring. Overall, it’s a great value itinerary—rich in wildlife, diverse landscapes, and cross-border adventure.
This safari felt like stepping into a world that still belongs entirely to nature. The landscapes were wide and open, filled with life and movement. Wildlife sightings happened naturally throughout the day, creating moments of excitement and wonder. Having to watch animals live freely in their natural environment felt both thrilling and humbling. Cultural interactions also added warmth and authenticity to the journey, allowing us to learn about communities who have lived alongside wildlife for generations. The entire experience felt genuine and meaningful. It was the kind of adventure that reminds you how incredible the natural world truly is.
This is by far the very best tour in all of Africa. From the booming to the shcedual to the guides everything was perfect. The thing that stood out the most was the communication. From the beginning I was met with Alex who went over everything with me and asked if I had any questions before I even met up with the group. From there I had Alex’s constant support the entire trip anytime I had a question or a worry he was on it!! I can’t thank you enough Alex, as a 23 year old woman traveling alone knowing you were just a message away calmed me so much. Then my guides- Geoffrey was incredible. All my guides were amazing but Geoffrey and Mike were just the absolute best. They made the trip, not just knowledge about the animals but also about the country. Extremely personable, organized and very very knowledgeable. Nature gives what it gives so I can’t credit the company but I saw almost everything in just my first two hours of the Masai Mara. Then every single day I just saw so many animals!! And I went in February and I saw baby animals everywhere. Every step of the way I felt safe and supported and I will absolutely go back. And seriously if you’re a women solo traveling I would really recommend them just because of the great communication!!
Hey, what a fantastic and fabulous moment in africa from the kenyan cultural dishes to even restaurants they were well organised and very clean providing 100% services as required, i love it, I would encourage any one to consider africa as the place to spend their vacation and holidays
While the migration was the highlight, we also saw cheetahs, elephants, and a pride of lions! Sammy made sure we weren’t just following the herds but also appreciating the full ecosystem. Meals were warm and abundant, transport excellent, and accommodations charming. Incredible safari experience at a very fair price.
Though many go for the big game, I was there for birds—and Exciting Africa Holidays delivered. Sammy pointed out over 60 species! The transport had field guides and binoculars, the meals kept us going all day, and accommodations were near wetlands. If you're a birder, you’ll love this.
Watching the wildebeests hesitate, then suddenly run into the river—it gave me chills. Zack was calm in the chaos, parking where we had the best vantage. The meals, especially the packed lunches, were practical and tasty. Transport didn’t miss a beat, and accommodations offered restful nights. Priceless experience.
I went on a solo trip during the wildebeest migration, and Meta ensured I got the shots of a lifetime. The lighting, the angles, the action—it was perfect. The transport van had open roof access, meals were tasty, and accommodations had charging points for all my gear. Highly recommend.
Rhino Spotting & Scenic Drives If you’re into the less hyped but majestic rhino sightings, this tour is for you. Sammy spotted a mother and calf in the wild, which was my trip’s highlight. Meals were hearty, accommodations clean and beautiful, and transport never let us down. Quiet, respectful safari—worth every cent.
Going during the migration season was the best decision. Sammy made sure we caught two separate river crossings, one in the morning and one at sunset. Accommodations were clean and secure, transport had pop-up roofs, and meals were served with a smile. Amazing value for money for this rare event.
The wildebeest migration is a chaotic and beautiful marvel. Meta knew exactly where to take us, and we watched over 3,000 animals cross in one afternoon. Accommodations had mosquito nets and great showers, transport was rugged yet comfy, and meals were always on time. The value for money? Exceptional.
Silvester made our family trip unforgettable. We saw elephants, warthogs, and even a leopard. The transport was comfortable for the kids, meals were diverse and well-balanced, and our family lodge was both safe and scenic. The entire experience was a great return for the price.
I’ve always dreamed of seeing the wildebeest migration, and Exciting Africa Holidays made it a reality. Sammy was our guide—professional, funny, and patient. We also spotted lions and hyenas nearby. The meals were satisfying, accommodations had spectacular views, and the transport was perfect for photography. Worth every penny!
Watching the wildebeest migration was like being in a National Geographic film. Meta positioned our vehicle perfectly by the river, and we saw hundreds making the dramatic crossing. Meals were hearty, accommodations were cozy tents near the park, and transport handled the rough terrain impressively. A powerful, emotional experience.
Antony knew exactly how to position the transport for the best light and angles. I captured lions yawning, elephants bathing, and eagles in flight. The meals were always timed perfectly, and accommodations had ideal workspaces. For photography lovers, this is value for money like nowhere else.
This wasn’t just a safari; it was a soul-soothing retreat. Sammy brought calm energy and deep knowledge. We enjoyed quiet sunrises, saw zebras grazing at dusk, and slept to the sounds of hyenas. Meals were freshly cooked, accommodations were candle-lit, and the transport was rugged yet comfortable. Beautifully unforgettable.
Zack made learning about animals so fun for our kids! They now know the difference between a cheetah and a leopard. The transport had coloring books, the meals had snacks for little ones, and the lodges had family-sized rooms. We got value for money in education and experience.
We were a group of five ladies celebrating a birthday. Exciting Africa Holidays gave us a custom safari with fun surprises, great meals, and excellent accommodations. Meta, our guide, was charming and protective—like a big brother. We saw elephants up close and danced with locals. Transport was smooth. Worth every penny!
Our honeymoon with Exciting Africa Holidays was magical. From the luxury tented camps to the candle-lit meals, everything was perfect. Meta made sure we saw the Big Five and even arranged a surprise sundowner. Transport was seamless, and the whole package was romantic and great value for money.
I couldn’t believe how much we got for what we paid! The safari was luxurious yet affordable. Exciting Africa Holidays delivered excellent value for money. The food was fresh and local, the lodges were top-notch, and our guide, Zack, was incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife. The transport was smooth and punctual every day.
Serengeti and Ngorongoro had been on my travel wish list for years. The team at Exciting Africa Holidays, made it happen. Watching lions laze on kopjes and cheetahs sprint across the plains was life-changing.
It rained two days of our 5-day trip in Amboseli and Tsavo, but the guides at Exciting Africa Holidays, Sammy and Zack, were flexible and still got us amazing sightings. Elephants in the mist were a photographer’s dream.
My girlfriend and I wanted a mix of romance and wildlife. Exciting Africa Holidays Ltd, recommended a luxury tented camp in Masai Mara—private deck, candlelit dinners, and lions roaring in the distance. Wow! Magical.
As a solo traveler, I was a bit nervous, but this company. Exciting Africa Holidays made me feel safe and welcome throughout as I traveled through Nairobi, Maasai Mara National Reserve, to Lake Nakuru. I later joined a small group tour and it was the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation.
"Our family had an incredible experience on the 13-day Kenya and Tanzania safari! It was the perfect adventure for all ages, offering a mix of excitement, education, and unforgettable moments. From the moment we arrived, we were amazed by the wildlife—seeing elephants up close in Amboseli, watching a pride of lions in the Maasai Mara, and even witnessing the breathtaking Great Migration. The kids were especially thrilled with every animal sighting, and it was a joy to see their faces light up when we spotted giraffes, zebras, and cheetahs. The game drives were not only fun but educational, with expert guides sharing their knowledge about the animals and ecosystems. We were in awe as we descended into the Ngorongoro Crater, a natural wonder teeming with wildlife in a stunning setting. It felt like being in a living, breathing wildlife sanctuary, and we got to see a wide range of animals up close. The Serengeti was another unforgettable highlight, where the vast plains stretched as far as the eye could see, with herds of wildebeest, zebras, and other animals roaming freely. We also enjoyed learning about the Maasai culture, which was a highlight for the whole family. Staying in family-friendly lodges and camps made the experience even more comfortable. Whether it was enjoying meals together or relaxing by the campfire at the end of a day filled with adventure, we felt truly connected to each other and to nature."
Thanks to Exciting Africa Holidays Safrai team.I had a great experience with my family as we travelled to Masai Mara park then crossed into Serengeti park to Ngorongoro then to Amboslei. This trip was our unmatched one since we saw all the great wildlife and landscapes. We had accommodations in mixed lodges and luxury tented camps that were very clean. Our guides Zazk and Salim both in Kenya and Tanzania were very professional that they made our experience extra great. Zack picked us in Namanga border to Amboseli it was fantastic flow and great guiding skills . I would recommend Exciting Africa Holidays director Albert who made all communications and advise very prompt. Thank you.
It was a great 13 days of excitement. A great learning experience. I've never never in NY life have had so much fun. The guides were excellent & very knowledgeable although I don't think it was fair that our group had to wait for 3 hrs while our Safari truck needed repairs. But other than that all went well.
Great Tour, had an amazing adventure. The guides try everything to make sure, that you'll have a great time with many animals. Exciting highlight: camping in Serengeti with special guests from our nature neighborhood.
I would warn against booking with this company. I felt unsafe on this trip, particularly once the safari moved from the portion in Kenya to the portion in Tanzania- to the extent that I ended my trip four days early I was frequently handed off between different guides and drivers without a secure way of confirming who was affiliated with the company and who wasn't, and was sometimes left without a guide or driver at all. At the Namanga border crossing I was left by my driver/guide and a local was paid to see me through the process and onto the shuttle to Arusha, Tanzania. I didn't have service in the area, and if anything had gone wrong had no way to contact anyone. I did not know who I would be meeting in Tanzania or have a way to reach them or know when they would be picking me up. Once I was in Tanzania, my itinerary was changed so that I could be shuffled to join other drivers and tour groups. While I was still slated to visit the same places in the end, changing the order meant that my family and friends at home would not know where I was on a given day, which made me uncomfortable as a young, solo female traveler. Because I was being passed between groups, I also didn't know who my driver would be, where I would be going on a given day, or who might contact me with this information and when. When I contacted the company with concerns they didn't see these issues as valid. Part of the reason I booked this specific tour was because it is advertised as vegan-friendly. Despite letting the company know in advance that I was vegan I was frequently unable to eat anything besides fruit and juice, and had to re-explain what my diet was over and over again. Two days into the trip I contacted the company about this and never received a response. I think it's dishonest to advertise this tour as vegan-friendly. The guides and drivers were all friendly and honestly trying to help solve my problems, admitting that the way things were being handled was far from ideal, and I saw many beautiful animals, but I don't feel like this was enough to overcome the company's mismanagement. Other travelers I was with were in similar situations, with their itineraries being changed last minute and sometimes prices being increased beyond expected while they were already on the tour, or having their lodgings changed to cheaper options after they had already paid. *I found this tour through TourRadar, and though they asked for my review the review I submitted never appeared on the site.
