Itinerary
Day 1
1
7am – Depart Nairobi and start of drive to Naivasha, brief stop over at the Great rift valley view point. You will make a scheduled stop at the view point on the side of the escarpment to enjoy the view of the Rift valley floor from a birds eye view. The rift valley system was formed 5 million years ago and the rift runs from the red sea through Ethiopia and Kenya and Tanzania. The rift valley is an active volcanic area and has some of the most interesting features including more than 8 lakes, dormant ALake Bogoria geysers. You can actually see the volcanic Mt Suswa and Mt Longonot from this high place with their evergreen craters and the undulating green rift valley floor. The view from here is just amazing.
Arrive at the gate of hells gate at around 9am. Start of the biking tour at hells gate for 2 hours. 11am – Visit the gorges inside the park. Gorges are small thin depressions of land mass where you can walk underneath. Some areas have formed caves where you can walk through. This will take 1 hour. 1pm – Finish the tours and bring the bikes back at the gate. 1pm – Drive to Naivasha Marina camp for Lunch (at own expense)
2pm – Take an optional 1 hour boat ride in the lake for bird watching and hippo viewing till the shores of crescent island 4pm – End of all activities start of drive to Astorian grand hotel or similar for dinner and overnight. Kindly note that upon request at an extra cost we can upgrade for you to stay at midrange luxury hotel like Sopa resort/simba lodge etc

Amazing experience. The hiking challenging but worth it ! The lake beautiful! Patrick and Joshua really nice guides .
Very scenic. Nice hike and guides. Overnight hotel; clean but right next to big road and away from any business. Impossible to leave to explore the town from there.
If you are an active person , this is trip for you. Great hikes and bike ride. Nice boat trip. My driver Patrick was excellent in every respect. My guide at Longonot, Joshua, was superb . The views on Longonot hike were amazing. A fantastic 2 day experience.
The trip was great. Our driver & guide Patrick was very good. He was always on time, provided us with great insights and was a really warm person. Our hike at Mount Longonot was really a nice experience. Our hiking guide Joshua knew a lot of the area, flora & fauna. We enjoyed his company while hiking. Boat ride in the lake was also great. We saw hippos, lots of different animals and birds. Finally, biking at the Hells Gate national park was fun and we saw zebras, giraffes and many other animals from close by. Our guide Robert knew a lot and was very helpful.
Intelligent, social and friendly guide. He proactively helped us make amendement to our trips to beter fit our profile.
A very dynamic and exciting journey. Guides were wonderful. Patrick, who took the driver's part, was funny, honest and helpful; Robert at Hell's gate was very informative; finally, Joshua at Longonot showed his secret campsite in the crater and shared the nerd-like excitement about hiking, geology and geography that I though only I have. Thank you for such a memorable experience, guys ❤️
We did a lovely private custom tour in Naivasha Area, covering Mt. Longonot, Lake Naivasha, Hell’s Gate, and the Alkaria Spa in two days. The crew was knowledgeable and super helpful throughout the trip. Fully recommended as a weekend getaway from Nairobi or a short add on to your longer safari trip.
A great experience, with an attentive guide for climbing Mont Longomot, lots of beautiful things to see on Lake Navaisha and a pleasant bike safari. It's varied, a bit sporty but affordable.
The tour was great with a lot of different experiences packed into a day and a half. The volcano is a great sight and seeing hippos from a boat and giraffes from a bike is a unique experience. Driver and guide were friendly and flexible.
We had a fantastic experience on this tour. Our guides Frank and Danish were very welcoming and helpful. Frank went with us on both the days to hike Mount Longonot and bike in Hell’s Gate National Park. He provided us plenty of information e.g. about local beliefs, types of animals in the national parks etc. Overall, we really enjoyed both the days.
This tour is cheaper than similar tours. Our tour guide and driver George is nice and helpful, and always arrive punctual. The hike at Mount Longonot is physically demanding but the view is great, the guide Robert is also very helpful and led us through the challenging parts in the hike. The hotel is old but still decent for a short night of stay. Our day at Hell’s Gate is not quite enjoyable as we went on a rainy day and our guide is in a rush. Overall it is still an exciting and value experience.
The whole trip schedule is good with affordable price. The tour guide/driver is nice as well as the accommodation. Although the hotel does not look good outside, the inner environment of the hotel is far better than expected. The reason why this tour does not get a 5 star is that one of the tour guides responsible for Hells gate is a little bit rude but I guess it’s just an occasional case.
The driver George and the guide Robert who guided us through Mount Longonot were amazing and kind!!! Very considerate, and held our hands on our way down the steep mountain. He made sure to adjust his speed for us beginners, and taught us patiently how to get down the mountain. Along the way, he explained to us the different plant and animal species. We felt so well taken care of. If it weren't for the bad guide we had the 2nd day, they would have secured a 5 star review!!! However, Guide Gadafy who guided us through Hell's Gate was not like them at all. Despite some of us were not as physically fit as him (considering we hiked 21km the previous day too), he ushered us all along the trail and not letting us stop. Won't even allow us to stop for a picture with the zebras. What's the point of going to Hell's Gate if we can't take some pictures of the animals? The worst part is that he sped through the whole trail without stopping for us or checking on us- in fact, the road was so slippery some of us fell and he didn't even know. What's the point of having a tour guide if he wasn't here to ensure our safety? That being said, basically you cannot expect him to explain anything about Hell's Gate to you.
Amazing experience. You have to be trained to climb the volcano but it is very worth it. The amazing lake Patrick the very friendly and professional guide.
