Nafplion: Mycenae-epidavros

The driver was very nice and prompt. He met us with a sign in a very nice red Mercedes. It was very nice to have a private tour and not be on a bus with so many people. My only negative was that the driver while he knew some he didn’t seem to have much to offer as far as the city and any history or to help educate us on the city. We had the one and only day of rain which put a bit of damper on the day but all and all a good experience. We were very happy to experience all we did with the private tour though and would recommend it .

Our driver gave us a wonderful overview of the area and what we were about to see at Mycenae and Epidavros while providing a comfortable and relaxing drive.

Comfortable ride in Van. At times it was hard to hear the driver from the back but other guests repeated what she said. Enough time in each place, did not feel rushed. We got back in time at port for an amazing lunch and a bit of shopping. Would recommend this company.

Excellent agency. This was one of 5 days of arrangements. Gina did a good job of coordinating car and drivers to meet our needs. If I had to do over again we would definitely contact her again.

We explored the ancient ruins of Mycenae and then the large stadium of Epidavros. It was a very sweet and peaceful excursion. We were driven to the sites and then experienced it on our own - which was excellent for us. Our pickup and dropoff was easy and timely.

Christos was our driver. He was attentive, timely, and took good care of our group of 3. We greatly appreciated his sharing of his love for his city. We enjoyed our time with him

After a lengthy visit to many attractions associated with Mykines Archaeological Site, our tour group stopped in the waterfront village of Nafplion for a quick respite aka rest stop. We had an hour to stroll and stimulate the local economy but given the size of private yachts in the harbor, I had a feeling that giftshops would be pricey. Yep! The stroll along stone streets and viewing a few artifacts made the visit worthwhile. I was astounded at the size and condition of cannonballs and a snub-nose cannon depicted in the accompanying photos. After leaving, I learned that a historic castle was nearby, but since the guide didn’t mention it I assume there was not enough time for tour members to visit. Still, the quaint village is a pleasant sojourn.

Our driver Kostas was very helpful. He was friendly and prompt. He is not a tour guide. He is driver who picks you up from your hotel, drives you to the designated ancient sites then finally back to your hotel.

Good experience to visit two archeological sites from Nafplio very easily The trip was practical and efficient.

Said there was an audio tour which was a lie. Driver only. The driver tried to call the company they didn’t answer. This is not acceptable. I have a hire car I could have driven my self. Poor driver was embarrassed and played a 2min clip from YouTube to try make the best of the situation.

This was transportation and not guided tour but George was very informative and responded to our questions. We thoroughly enjoyed the comfortable car and friendly atmosphere.

This day tour has been ideal, with the hot weather and high temperatures having a driver like George, everything was perfect, smooth and easy

We had a great time in the Nafplio, Epidavros & Mycenae areas because with ended up with Cristo. He was knowledgeable of the areas. Cristo was friendly and courteous. He also very helpful - he was more into sharing rather than the financial aspect. My wife and I are so thankful that we booked and had Cristo with us!

Its was a good visit. We ended up purchasing an audio guide since the driver that picks you up does not go with you on the archeological site, and does not really share any information about it during the drive either. The ruins are amazing, but I wished we had a live guide with us, to better understand what we were looking at. The site are rather large and well worth the visit. Its hard to believe these structures date back some 1600 before Christ. Truly amazing history, tones or antiquities, great museum.

Great driver. Friendly and informative. Explore each site on your own while you know that your driver is there waiting for you when you are done. Driver recommended a great lunch spot outside of Mikines.

The tour guide, Maria, made this excursion! Maria made the scenery come to life with her presentation. She was extremely knowledgeable.

Very nice driver took us to important historical sites in the area which would have been much harder to find on our own. Having a private car was really nice, we could go at our own pace.

Our driver was on time and very friendly and helpful. We had extra time after visiting the 2 sites so our driver offered to take us to another stop in Nafplion Since this was a private tour we were able to get to the sites early and avoid the crowds. We were also able to visit at our own pace (much faster than a tour group). We had our own guidebook that gave us ample information on the important artifacts and we didn’t have to listen to filler information provided by a guide.

Unfortunately there was a major communication issue with Viator as to the content of this tour. We were picked up at our hotel by a private car and driver. He drove us to the two locations and left us to explore by ourselves. This cost nearly $200. We could have done this by ourselves since we had a rental car. Very very disappointing. I do not ever plan to use Viator again because of this misrepresentation.

While our driver was very courteous, our tour was a complete disappointment. Our guide gave us absolutely no information whatsoever so we were completely on our own at every location. Had we known, we would’ve bought a guidebook. But every other Viator tour guide has been a wealth of information., so we did not think this was necessary. This time he was basically a glorified taxi driver.

Very kind & knowledgeable tour guide!! We had to go the private route because we were so far out from the meeting point. A little expensive, but we were able to go at our own pace at each stop which was nice. This company is very nice & will work with you on transportation!

This was not “ guided tour has mentioned in description. Driver was very nice and professional BUT strictly only a driver . Description needs to be changed to “NOT” guided.

It's fascinating to visit such ancient sites. Places like this need to be preserved. To see them stirs your imagination about what life was like thousands of years ago.

Transported in a beautiful Mercedes van. Driver was very nice. Tour is self guided. Driver gives only minimal information but answers any questions freely.

Nafplio was amazing! The views were spectacular, the beaches were stunning with crystal clear waters, and great service with food and drink. The restaurants were excellent and really good value. Highly recommend going to Valaora restaurant( upscale restaurant, great dining experience) on the water facing Bourtzi. Be ready to walk a lot in the old town of Nafplio. Beautiful cobblestone streets, charming boutiques and souvenir shops. A very romantic and yet fun place to visit. Definitely walk up the fort of Palamidi; the views are breathtaking. If you have time, visit Mycenae and the museum for a bit of history and culture. Go early in the day cause it tends to get hot in the day time— Short driving distance from Nafplio. Highly recommend visiting Nafplio if you have two days to spare or even longer. My husband and I loved it!!

This tour had a great variety to visit all the main historic sites in the area about Mycenaean culture, Greek medicince and theatre based sites, and at a fair price compared to other companies. It just so happened I was the only person to show up on the day so I had an amazing private experience and my drive Kosta was great company. I highly recommend that if you by chance have rented a car for your time around Nafplio, this tour can be self-conducted so you can save some money. But if you don't and are ready to explore, then by all means this tour is a very good option.

Advertised as a tour. All it was was a driver with little or no dialogue. It could have been much better, as there was so much to see.

Our family of five(14, 18, & 19) had a very enjoyable private excursion to Mycenae and Epidauras from lovely Nafplio. The ancient history of Mycenae is amazing, and the ruins of this one-time fortress are awe-inspiring when considering they are 4-5000 years old. Ancient Mycenae commands the valley with visibilty all the way to the sea, and the tholos burial grounds are wonderfully intact and unique. The age and beauty of Epidauras is also enviable, another astounding site with a remarkable amphitheater. And lastly, Nafplio by itself is a striking coastal town. Our driver Nicos, with Unique Greek Tours, was also very kind, safe, patient, and pleasant during our trip. A great excursion that our entire family enjoyed!

Cristo was an excellent driver and offered us a video explaining the history of each site (from Great Courses). He was very attentive and aa soon as he saw us leave the site immediately got up and ran to get the car (literally ran) . At the end of the tour he took us up to a nice overlook of the town if Nafplio. Highly recommend.

Nice tour. Driver was friendly and drove safely. The only thing was that an extra 30 minutes per sites would be appreciated as we had to rush a little with the 90 minutes allowed.

We paid for a tour, and just got transportation. A real rip-off. The next day we took a different Viator tour in a different place, paid less and got so much more.

Tour guide Nico was excellent. Although not as fluent in English as some of our other tour guides he had informative cassettes playing while driving to make up for it. He was extremely kind and accommodating. He went out of his way to take us places we wanted to see. The Mycenae ruins and Epidavros amphitheater is AMAZING. must see.

Really great tour service at an affordable price. Everyone was very friendly and did a good job explaining things to us. We also really appreciated the flexibility of not being on a bus with 30 other people and only having an exact amount of time at each site. We were able to spend more at the ones we liked, and less elsewhere. Highly recommend them!

The tour is exactly as described and it exceeded our expectations. Our driver was friendly, courteous and was eager to share a wealth of information with us about various parts of the tour. We thoroughly enjoyed it!!!

We had a lovely ride through the countryside of the southeastern Peloponnese. The visits to both Mycenae and Epidavros were very informative and enlightening. Both sites have quite a history. Our driver was not a guide, so we were left to our own to read the many descriptive posters, which was fine. A great journey.
