Faisal made our Muscat day trip the highlight of our holiday. He met us at the airport and had the day perfectly sequenced — Grand Mosque before the tourist window closed, then Muttrah Souq and the corniche at just the right pace amongst many other great sites. He's the rare guide who's deeply knowledgeable without lecturing, and flexible when you want to linger. His lunch pick was spot-on, and every practical detail was handled quietly in the background. Ghusun contacted up prior to the day of the tour to ensure all was ready for a 9am start. He picked the two of us up from our hotel and immediately made us feel very welcome and comfortable. We did the Private Muscat City tour with our excellent guide Khalil. Was a fantastic day certainly with the highlights being Grand Mosque and the Royal Opera House - both incredibly beautiful buildings. Khalil was fun to be around and provided great commentary on all our destinations and looked after us the entire day which was a little more complicated by the visit of the Lebanese Prime Minister. Khalil worked around this making sure we covered all the attractions set out in our itinerary. We wanted some lunch and Khalil suggested this little restaurant opposite the fish market - you choose your seafood and they cook it for you. Taste was amazing and generous servings. Highly recommend Khalil if you're after a guide in Muscat

Fantastic tour with Khalil! We learned so much about Muscat, and he brought us to a great lunch spot for fresh Omani seafood by the fish market. Khalil was able to take great photos of us at the Sultan Qaboos Mosque. The tour was very organized. We would happily book again!

We had a really pleasant time in Muscat with our guide, Khalid AlRaqadi. He took us to all the highlights – the Grand Mosque, Muttrah Souq, the Fish Market, Al Alam Palace, Al Mirani and Al Jalali Fort, the Opera House, the National Museum, and the Al Bustan Hotel. What made the day stand out was how thoughtful he was though as he went out of his way to take photos of my wife and me at different spots, making sure we had memories to take back with us. He also showed us a couple of hidden viewpoints overlooking the ocean that we wouldn’t have found on our own. Khalid was friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to spend the day with. He explained the history in a clear and engaging way, but also gave us space to explore and enjoy at our own pace. We never felt rushed, just well taken care of. It was a great experience, and we’d happily recommend Khalid to anyone visiting Muscat.

We had a wonderful day with Saif exploring the beautiful city of Muscat. We not only learned about the history of Oman, but also how warm and welcoming the people are in the region. Definitely recommend visiting this wonderful country!

The communication with the tour company was smooth and instant via SMS, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, we were unable to visit the Opera House due to VIP visitors, but this wasn’t the company’s fault. The Grand Mosque was absolutely worth visiting – a true highlight of the tour. The museum was informative and gave us a good sense of the history. The fish market was interesting to experience, while the souk was ok. Overall, I didn’t feel I fully connected with Muscat as a city. There didn’t seem to be many vibrant promenades or places to walk and enjoy. However, this is more about the nature of the city itself rather than any shortcomings of the tour company. As a tourist perspective, Muscat has its own charm but perhaps not the kind of lively urban atmosphere some might expect.

I am submitting this review of the Muscat Tour led by Amer of Star Tours Oman on December 10, 2024. My name is Norman Louis Morgan from Phoenix, Arizona, USA. Along with my traveling companion Hsiaoyu Lo from New York, we booked an all day tour of Muscat. We spent five days and four nights traveling independently in Oman after we had participated in a 6 night Gate 1 Group Tour of the U.A.E. Hsiaoyu had booked tours online and we went on three tours together and she also went on one trip by herself. The Muscat City Tour occurred on our last day in Oman and after that we needed immediately to get to the Muscat Airport for our flights home to the USA. Amer did an incredible job of meeting all of our needs and special requests. He was at all times friendly, polite and efficient. To begin with, he accomodated our request to see all the sights on the tour in a well planned timetable and then to drop us off at the Airport at the time we requested. Also he did a superlative job of providing interesting information about all the sites we visited. He was also an excellent driver and willing and capable photographer to take our photos on request. He acted excellently as translator for our interactions with store workers and was knowledgeable where to buy the souvenirs we wanted and facilitated our getting the best deal. Throughout the trip he looked out for our safety and welfare. We were totally satisfied with his guidance and his friendly personality. The Muscat City Tour was truly fantastic and filled with interesting venues. We got to experience the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the Bait Al Zubair Museum, the Corniche, the Mutrah Souq, the Fish Market, the Royal Opera House and many photo-stops for the Al-Mirani Fort, Al-Jalali Fort, Mutrah Fort, the Al-Alam Palace and the Parliament. Great full day tour covering everything important in Muscat. Aziz was an amazing guide and took me and my family safely and showed us everything important including explaining the historical and cultural significance. Great day trip.

I booked this trip thru viator and my Tour Guide was Waleed. He was spot on time at 0900 and we visited the published itinerary which included Sultan Qaboos Moaque, Opera House, Corniche, Mutrah region including the Souq . After a brief break we went onto the luxury palatial hotel Al bustan and The Royal Palace. Waleed was extremely polite, knowledgeable and i enjoyed every minute of his company. He did not rush and we had a relaxing day. He has a thorough knowledge of the history and it was interesting to know a lot of things whech were new to me. In the end he took me to oman mall and waited till i did the rounds and even picked up a McD burger. He was a pleasure to have a company. I strongly recommend Waleed as a tour guide 10/10.

We had an excellent tour with our very knowledgeable guide, Khalid Airaqadi. Our tour included : Grand mosque Mattrah Souq AlAlam palace National Museum ALmirani & AlJalali fort Khalid was very flexible in the schedule and we never felt like we were being rushed. We went with Amer our tour guide. He was fabulous, and advised what to wear the day before visiting the Grand Mosque. The Grand Mosque was fabulous with the second largest chandelier in the world and the largest carpet in the world and also learning about Islam. It was interesting to see how the cooling worked in the mosque too given the high heat in Oman. We then went to Mutrah after we went to the souk and harbour. After shopping we all grabbed lunch/juices. It was such a wounderful Souk. We also had a glimpse into the fish market. Amer was fabulous in showing us where to get particular items in the Souk. We then went to Al Zubair Museum where we learn about Omani living, the culture, the history. Amer was a great guide and showed and talked about artifacts of interest. We then went to the Opera house, which was tremendous and we saw an organ with 4000 pipes. We also observed where the Sultan sits to enjoy the opera. I would highly recommend Amer from Star Tours. Amer was fabulous in showing us around. We very much enjoyed the tour.

Our guide was knowledgeable and passionate about showing us both old and new Muscat. The visit to Royal opera house and Bagels fort were unforgettable. I will highly recommend to anyone wanting to explore Oman's beauty!

Ms Roda Valdez made all the arrangements and answered numerous questions prior to the tour which we appreciated. She was flexible regarding the itinerary and the payment. Our guide Abdulmajeed was punctual, knowledgeable and sociable. The car was new, comfortable enough for 4 of us. The Grand Mosque and the Opera House (which you need to visit from inside) are masterpieces, must-see sights. The city of Muscat greatly impressed us as very clean, (people compare it with Singapore), bright with dominating white-yellow buildings and with lots of greenery.

Our day started with our tour guide collecting us from our hotel. Saif was absolutely everything you'd hope for and he was extremely knowledgeable and hugely kind. We spent our first hour in the Grand Mosque which was overwhelmingly beautiful. Saif taught us so much as we walked around the beautiful flower filled gardens afterwards. Our next visit was The Opera House, again stunning and we followed a short but informative guide inside. A tour of a very large souk was next which is a great eye-opener and very popular for fabulous fabrics, perfumes, frankincense, gold jewellery etc. We asked Saif, if we could please dine at a local Omani restaurant with him and this was delicious. After we visited the Sultan's palace and his visitors' one close by which are fantastically built on the seafront. Again fabulous architecture and stunning flower gardens. Our next stop was at The National Museum which provides the visitors with so much in-depth knowledge on the Omani culture and it's truly amazing. We passed the Government buildings which were so impressive and Saif drive us high up to see them from o higher perspective. He also stopped throughout the day to enable us to take photos which we were very grateful for. Overall, Saif has provided us with life lasting memories and we cannot thank him enough for this. We wish him all the very best and thank you Saif so so much.

This is a great trip. The driver will take you on a tour of various attractions in Muscat. If you have enough time, it is recommended to visit them carefully. Don't worry about the bus not being on time or can't getting a taxi. Safi is a great guide, highly recommend!

I booked this trip directly with Star Tours Oman via email. The communication went easily and correctly. This tour is excellent when you want to see the ‘old’ and ‘new’ Muscat. The Royal Opera and the grand mosque Sultan Qaboos are dazzlingly beautiful, both the outside and the inside. The Muttrah souk and the muttrah fort are both worth the visit. The views from the fort are stunning. Be sure to visit the Bait Al Zubair Museum. Here you can learn everything about Omani culture. My guide Ali told me all about it. Ali is the best as he took me back to the opera the next day to visit the interior, because the opera was closed on the day of the tour. Thank you so much Ali!

We had an amazing experience with Ahmed on our full day tour around Muscat. He was very informative and answered all our questions about Oman, their local traditions, and community. Each stop was unique and reflected the country’s history and rich culture. I would definitely recommend doing this tour and would highly recommend Ahmed, as he was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was comfortable and enjoyable.

We started our trip at 08:30am in the morning. We have a lovely tour guide who has explained everything in detail. It was vast plenty to look at the outside of the grand mosque and just as fascinating as the inside.

Wonderful day exploring Muscat. The highlight was definitely the Mosque - beautiful and serene without being crowded. Our guide Khalid was amazing - giving us lots of information throughout the day, answering all our questions and taking photos for us. At no point did we ever feel rushed or like we needed to "move on" to the next thing. In fact our tour ran much longer than expected as he ensured we saw everything that was listed as well as a few extras! He also recommended a very enjoyable restaurant for lunch when we said we were feeling hungry. Highly recommend.

Our tour guide Magid was outstanding, he took us everywhere we wanted. He helped my wife, who used a wheelchair to get in and out of the car and pushed the wheelchair everywhere. As part of the tour, he took us to his boss' home, Mohammad, where he provided hospitality by giving us Oman specialty foods.

We spend a perfect day with our private guide in Muscat. The tour was a perfect mix of attractions/sightseeing/relaxing. Can highly recommend it.

Muscat is a beautiful city and our guide Hamood made it even more special. Hamood’s knowledge of historical facts makes it a fun experience and you can appreciate the experience better.
