We had a great day trip to Nizwa, with its historic fort and lively traditional souq, and to Jebel Akhdar, famous for its cool mountain air and beautiful terrace views. Our guide Mohammed Aljabri was super friendly and knowledgeable, making the whole trip smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to see Oman’s culture and stunning mountain scenery in one day.

We had the pleasure of going on this trip with our amazing guide and driver Badar, where we visited Nizwa souq, Nizwa Fortress and Jebel Akhdar. The fortress has spectacular views, and so many rooms to explore. Impressive history, and very well organised. Jebel Akhdar is breathtaking, both the drive and the view! The communication with Star Tour Oman and Badar has been excellent, with fast and informative responses. Badar made us feel very safe and cared for, and he’s a very good driver. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and he didn’t rush things. He even took us to a stable where we could enjoy a little bit of horse riding, and this was not part of the itinary. Badar is also very knowledgeable, and we’ve learnt a lot on this trip. I will never forget our great conversations and the many lovely karak stops along the way! Khalil Aljabri is an excellent guide! He’s friendly, knowledgeable and flexible. We took this tour, but there was a bike race that day and after visiting Nizwa, he offered an alternative site to visit. So we went to see Jabreen Castle, which was perfect. Our discussions ranged far and wide, from the different types of dates, to Omani life, to the everyday sights around us. This tour offers only two places to see for a full day, but with the right guide you can experience the entire country in that time.

This was our second day with jihad and we had booked the jebel shams hike but he had kindly suggested this alternate since it was our first time in Oman. He was absolutely right! We got to experience more culture at Nizwa which was awesome to see and we were able to shop as well! We got to see much more and he took us to an awesome viewpoint where we had a fantastic lunch at and then we went to an abandoned old town as well which was truly a sight to behold. Highly recommend you book this tour, and I hope you get Jihad as your tour guide! He made this experience very fun and provided a lot of insight about what life is like and growing up in Oman. It was indeed a wonderful and breathtaking experience! From exploring the nizwa souq, we saw the culture and tradition of Omani people and seeing how nice and friendly they are. We manage also to find somethings to buy to take home with us. Aside from that we saw Nizwa Fort which tackles brief history of the Sultan who built it and how it was built. Then we get to go to Jebel Akdar where the landscapes where breathtaking and I find it amusing the people who managed to live there for long time and knowing the terrain was underwater before was truly astonishing! The height was magnificent and very nice cold weather. Overall our guide Khalid manage to help find the cheap items we need and brought us to the places we went with much comfort and ease. He treated us like his own family. Before I forgot we pass by the Old Village which shows how they build their houses from mud and palm tree leaves and trunk making it stronger when mix with hard rocks that stood the test of time. Even after hundred years still the structure stands strong.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an amazing day visiting Nizwa Souq, Nizwa Fort, Jabal Al Akhdhar, and Birkat Al Mouz Old Village with Mr. Khalid AlRaqadi from Star Tours Oman. Mr. Khalid is truly more than a tour guide ! he’s a history book on wheels, a very safe and smooth driver, and most importantly… a great photographer 📸😆 (very important for happy wives!). He even helped bargain for us and managed to get a cheap dishdasha for men 👏. He explained Omani history in a clear, easy, and interesting way, never rushed us, and always made sure we were comfortable throughout the trip. Driving through the mountains felt safe and relaxing, even on winding roads, and he knew all the best photo spots and angles. If you’re looking for a guide who is knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and genuinely cares about his guests (with bonus bargaining skills!), we highly recommend Mr. Khalid. 🇴🇲✨

There are only good things to say about this private day tour. Starting off with the comfortable pick up from the hotel, our amazing guide Badar was there to greet us and provided all the necessary information not just about the day tour but even the history of Oman in general. We enjoyed a comfortable ride to Nizwa in a 4x4. Nizwa is a must visit when in Muscat. The Fort is an amazing place and the souq outside the fort is one of a kind. Then we headed to Jebel Akhdar and we had the time to go for a short walk and take some amazing photos. Nothing to complain. Amazing day!

We had an amazing time in Oman with Yahya as our guide. He showed us Muscat, Jebel Akhdar, Wadi Shab, and took us to the beach and on some great hikes along the way. He’s a very skilled driver, especially on the mountain roads, and we always felt safe and relaxed. Yahya is super knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and really funny. He also knows many locals, which made the experience feel very authentic. His English is excellent, and everything was smooth from start to finish. Highly recommend Yahya to anyone visiting Oman!

We were picked up by our tour guide for the day Said Al Kiyumi at the hotel, sharp at 8.30am, no delays and very punctual straight to our first destination. Along the way he explained a lot about Oman and he knows a lot and shared beautiful insights about Oman and Nizwa. We came from qatar for a family tour for oman. We took a tour from sunshine tours agency for a visit to nizwa and jabal akthar mountains. We got a nice knowledgeable and very kind tour guide Mr.Fawzi from the tour agency . He took care of our daughter in some situations also which was very helpful to us…. The experience was very good and very interesting with detailed explanations and fantastic natural scenic places on the way to our destinations. I will recommend anyone to try this company for a tour and if you get that guide fawzi - consider you lucky. Our tour guides Amr and Said are amazing and very informative! Brought us to really nice places and explained things clearly. Just a note that some places are challenging for the elderly or those with walking difficulties as there are steep paths/steps, tho Said will try his best to provide alt routes for them but some viewpoints are not accessible

I came to visit Oman with my parents and decided to go with Star Tours Oman. Our guide Amer has been exceptional. We learned a lot and tried delicious Omani treats. Amazing day with the Private Tour - Star Tour. Highly recommended. Our guide is Mr Munir. I don’t know where he got his energy from but he’s so enthusiastic and took care of us so well. Nothing is ever too troublesome. Impeccable timing is another high quality of this guide. Mr Munir took us to Nizwa Souq where my wife and I got too absorbed in shopping. The Date shop was incredible- good value and yummy dates. You must also tried the Tahina , the sesame paste…. Then off to Nizwa Fort. A great museum but really crowded. The view from the top was great. We enjoyed climbing the tower, with all the military tricks on display. We had the Omani bread there, with demonstration. Then Jebel Akhdar - breath taking view. Mr Munir took us to a special spot to see the view and the fossils of fish and corals. We had a good cup of coffee at Diana’s point. The coffee is good but a little too sweet for my liking. But the Hisbiscus tea (cold) was excellent. Then we were off to see the UNESCO World Heritage listed irrigation system - ingenious. The guide took us to see the sunset at Birkat Al Mouz (water of banana) - oh my god, it was spectacular. Oh did I mention the views that we stopped along the way to see. You must come to Oman and visit Nizwa. The people are beautiful and friendly.

Yes, definitely worth the money. Ali was excellent and helped me navigate through the different venues and gave great commentary about the cultural and history of the places we visited. He went the extra mile. It was an excellent day.

We had such a wonderful private tour in Nizwa with our guide, Muneer! He was super friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole day really enjoyable. We visited an old fort, explored a beautiful city in the mountains, and even stopped by some lovely farms. Muneer shared so much interesting information about the history and culture, and he took us to some amazing spots with wonderful views. Everything was well-organized and relaxed — we never felt rushed, just had a great time learning and taking in the views. Highly recommend this tour (and Muneer!) if you want to experience the real beauty of Oman.

We had an excellent day with Aziz visiting Jebel Shams and Nizwa. We begin the day visiting the local souq in Fanja before continuing on to the old town of Misfad al Abrieen and Jebel Shams. In the late afternoon we arrived in Nizwa where we explored the souqs, castle and fort, and enjoyed the band who playing in the castle square. Aziz was very knowledgable, and made our visit very comfortable and enjoyable. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this trip.

We had a great day out with Aziz, who drove us safely up to Jebel Shams, stopping at two charming villages along the way. We then went to Nizwa where Aziz gave us a very comprehensive tour of the fort and castle, and also of the souq. Aziz timed everything perfectly, allowing us to see the band perform in the fort and explore the souq while it was the buzziest. We also enjoyed trying out Omani bread, honey and tea.

We had two wonderful days with our guide, Youssef — first in Nizwa and Jebel Shams, and then exploring the desert and Wadi. I highly recommend booking a tour with Youssef! He is extremely customer-oriented, knowledgeable, and friendly. We had such a great time together, and he shared with us many of the hidden secrets of Oman. An unforgettable experience!

We had a fantastic tour with Ahmed to Nizwa and Jebel Akhdar. Everything was arranged for nice and easily ahead of time and Karen who helped organize things was very quick in responding and coordinating things with us. On the tour, Ahmed was a great tour guide, treating us like family. One of the highlights ended up being the Felaj irrigation systems. All in all a great tour and a great intro to Oman. We would highly recommend.

We went to Nizwa fort , Nizwa Souq, Jabal AlAkhdhar and Barkat AlMuz old village all of it was beautiful and the history was fantastic. Unforgettable experience of Oman Grand Canyon (Jebel Shams), Nizwa Souq, Nizwa old fort from Nizwa. We met our tour guide (Khalil) that came with nice Omani traditional official outfits. Talk and show Oman culture . He has Good information of Nizwa fort. Showing us Nizwa Souq .patiently took our pictures around..... Going toward Grand canyon luckly we saw kingfisher bird , sparrows and from far Egptian Vulture flying .very nice view of grand canyon with Omani tea and coffe Having a traditional lunch and heads back. This Tour is an excellent way to get an overall impression of Oman outside muscat. But you must have a good Guide and driver and Saif is certainly both. it constitutes a long day but it’s very good value and brings Home to one just what a fascinating country this is. Strongly recommended, especially if one has limited time in Oman.

We went on two tours with Khalid…the first was a private tour of Muscat, the second a private tour to Nizwa and Jebel Akhdar. Both were great. Khalid is very knowledgeable about the history and passionate about his country. He knew the best places to visit in the Nizwa Souq. It would have taken us hours to try to figure that out on our own. The road to Jebel Akhdar is long, steep and winding. You must take a 4 x 4 vehicle. We would have been terrified to attempt this in our own. We were fortunate to visit while the roses were blooming. It was delightful and about 15 degrees cooler than Nizwa. Khalid is not only a great guide but also a great driver. We highly recommend him.

Jhad came to pick me up from the hotel ahead of the schedule. He was kind, polite and knowledgeable about the places. I recommend him to all the tourists, especially solo. He droves safely.

We booked three full day tours with Star Oman Tours. Day 1: Sultan Qaboos Grand mosque - Royal Opera House - Shatti Qurum Beach - Fish Market - Mutrah Souq – Muttrah Corniche- Al Alam Palace - Bait Al Zubair Museum - Parliament Photo stop. Day 2: Nakhal Fortress, Nakhal Hotspring, Wadi Bani Awf, Bilad Sayt Day 3: Nizwa Fort – Nizwa Souq - Bahla Fort – Jabreen Castle The first two days we had Waleed as our tour guide, while the last day was with Said Al Kiyumi. The communication with Star Oman was great from the start. Quick responses, very clear about what to expect, flexible to accommodate start times, switch days, etc. The sites, themselves, require no review. They were all beautiful and worth visiting. TripAdvisor has separate reviews for the sites. What I can say is the tour company delivered, and I would use them again. In particular, it was clear Said really wanted us to experience his beautiful country, and inquired many times throughout the tour what else he could do for us, and whether there was anything else we wanted to see. This was on top of a 10-hour tour day! We really appreciated his enthusiasm and willingness to do that. Hotel pickup was exactly as planned. Each night, we received texts vis WhatsApp to confirm the next day’s pick-up time, and whether we wanted any changes. Extremely flexible. We really enjoyed the three days of touring with Waleed and Said and definitely recommend Star Oman Tours. *****

Booked a day tour to Jabel Akdhar and was blessed to have Mr Nasr as our tour guide and driver. Mr Nasr was extremely friendly and accommodating. His service was second to none. He is great with kids and even bought us drinks. Mr Nasr speaks excellent English and knows the history of every single place we visited.
