Daymaniat Islands Guided Snorkeling Adventure From Muscat

We had an absolutely wonderful day exploring the beautiful Daymaniyat Islands in Oman with Daymaniyat Shells! We saw so many colourful fish and beautiful sea turtles while snorkelling. The food was delicious, the boat was modern, comfortable and beautiful, and the crew was incredibly kind, friendly and professional. We highly recommend Daymaniat.shells! We were a group of around ten people, and every single one of us was more than satisfied with the experience. The service, the boat, and especially the captains were absolutely fantastic! Our boat was actually the first to arrive at the spots we visited, which gave us plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings without any crowds. The captains explained everything clearly, showed us around, and were incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. And the experience itself? Words can't even describe how beautiful it was! Excellent experience. Farzhad and Said were excellent captains and actually cared for the sealife we were visiting and were mindful of where we went and how we could minimise our impact on the surroundings. Unfortunately a number of other tour operators that we saw weren’t as professional or caring. Meeting point was the Al Mouj marina at 745am which meant we got to places ahead of others. Great clean and new boat which was very comfortable. Sandwiches, watermelon and fruit on offer throughout the trip and gifts of metal reusable water bottles was a nice touch. Hosts were very informative and we visited 2 spots for snorkelling plus a quick beach stop on our half day tour. Saw loads of turtles, octopus, sea eels, puffer fish, ospreys as well as all the colourful coral fish. A great experience and I don’t think they could have done anything better. Thank you

Amazing company doing great things in a fantastic place. We did a half day snorkeling trip, with our 5 year old son. Captain Fahad and his team were just amazing throughout. Very easy to contact, perfect English (our Arabic is basically 0) and very friendly throughout organising the trip which we did on WhatsApp. The trip itself was very well organised, clear details on where to park and what to bring then everything else was incredibly well throughout. The boat has plenty of space and is fast and comfortable, there is a toilet onboard (it's a boat it's never going to be fancy as some reviews called this out) which was very clean and accessible. There was space under the seats for bags and freshwater showers to rinse off which was something I'd never have thought of but made a higher difference for our 5 year old getting the salt water out of his eyes and face. The snorkels and flippers were comfortable and high quality, there was a slight leak in my snorkel I didn't even notice but the team did and replaced it for me without me even asking! There are also plenty of life jackets and pool noodles for those less confident in the water. We were also given a branded, metal water bottle each to top up through the day with lovely chilled water and we got to keep! (We were even allowed to swap for our favourite colours after). But the main thing I'm enthusiastic about is how caring the company is, we were first at the reef to make sure we had the place to ourselves and didn't overwhelm the turtles and wildlife, we were given plenty of safety briefs about what to do and not to do for our safety but also for the wildlife which is at the core of what captain Fahad and team believes in. I would 1000% recommend this company and wish more people operated like them! Great with all people and all abilities with the right attitude towards wildlife! We saw: turtles, puffer fish, octopus, pipefish, parrot fish, tuna, sardines, multiple rays and whale shark (even if it was just a tail fin as we were out of season)

Choosing Daymaniat Shells for snorkeling was the best decision for snorkelling - hear me out: There is a whole lot of options for snorkelling the Island. I did my research an read reviews on most of them on Google and Tripadvisor and choose this one because is sounded like they take environmental protection most serious and tried tried to do tourism as sustainable as possible - and they do! Starting from there being no plastic bottles (they gift you a reusable metal bottle that they refill from a huge tank which is also a nice souvenir), to them really making sure everyone respects the wildlife with all the dos and donts which they follow themselves with e.g. not chasing dolphins or whalesharkes with the boat and keeping a good distance, to their long standing expertise knowing where to go when and several more sustainable small choices they just have a very thoughtful concept of how they do snorkelling. Apart from those aspects however they are also just extremely nice, welcoming, warm and funny and everything feels very sincere and authentic although they do this basically every day. They are also super accommodating and communicative from before the trip even starts (they send you infos with all the hard facts and how to get there the day before) to the aftermath where they will send you pictures and videos from that day so you’re not busy with some kind of content creation and can just enjoy this very special experience this is just a very holistic tour. Some more advantages of them is that they start earlier than most other tours for which we where there around 30 minuted before any other boats came and saw all the see turtles undisturbed munching away and we also got back almost an hour later because they got a tipp that whale sharks had been spottet although the season was over for a month already and headed there with us just knowing where to go although they themselves had nothing from that extension. I wish i could list all the other wonderful things that make them outstanding but khallas I also gotta travel Oman so this needs to do justice. Ok few more things: also their vessels are really nice, we took the blue monster which is a really nice boat and they always gave clear instructions on how to behave and they also had very good equipment and took good care of it and were always there to help with even a fresh water shower after getting back from the water. All in all, pay the three more Rials they are money worth spent and a big thank you goes out to Fahat and his captains and crew, they are amazing people and I guarantee you’ll have the best time choosing them!

This was a really great trip. Lovely and helpfull captains serving fruit, sandwich and snacks. The boat was nice and clean and we god a nice bottle for souvenir. Overall just a really good trip.

Incredible experience to see so many turtles at this marine sanctuary. Captain Fahad and his crew were knowledgeable and mindful of the environment. They also made sure everyone understood the rules. The boat and snorkeling equipment were in excellent condition, the snacks and fruit were tasty and fresh. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip and timely return. Spot on!

Half a day, hundreds of turtles and an experience I won’t forget! I was absolutely blown away by today’s half-day snorkelling trip with Daymaniat Shells. From the easy booking to the crew and the snorkelling itself, the whole experience was superb. The early start makes a real difference. We were the first boat at the islands and were in the water enjoying the wildlife before the other boats arrived. And what wildlife! We saw hundreds of turtles, moray eels, rays and an incredible variety of tropical fish. There was so much to see, it was difficult to know where to look next. The boats are new, modern and really comfortable, and the crew are friendly, welcoming and easy to deal with. All the snorkelling equipment is provided, so you only need to bring a towel and suncream. Even lunch deserves a mention. Food on these trips can feel like an afterthought, but this was genuinely delicious and a lovely finishing touch to the morning. Half a day was the perfect amount of time. It never felt like we needed a longer trip to get the full experience, and we came away absolutely delighted. If you’re in Oman, I can thoroughly recommend Daymaniat Shells. An outstanding trip with a team who clearly care about getting the whole experience right. One last thing, the crew take a camera and record and take pictures which are sent to you afterwards. This is helpful because who wants to be stuck behind a camera when you should be in the moment with experiences like this.

Incredible experience from start to finish. Pristine boat and the Captain’s were very professional and friendly. We were taken to 3 locations to snorkel and saw so many different fish, turtles, rays and even a sea snail. Sadly no whale sharks today but that’s down to luck. A pleasant and adequate lunch and a very nice gift of a water bottle. The trip is such good value for money end we enjoyed every minute. Highly recommend.

We live in Oman and over the last 6 years we must have been going on this trip 8-10 times. Cpt Fahad is absolutely amazing. We had a fantastic outing to the island and reef. Snorkeling was top class - great visibility, lots of turtle, rays, eels and the usual reef fish. The team from Daymaniat was excellent and we were lucky to have the boat (which was super comfortable) to ourselves. The snorkeling gear we borrowed was /looked brand new. All in all highly recommended, even in the August heat (there is a pleasant breeze on board)

Phenomenal experience. From start to finish, everything was spot on. I literally cannot find any faults or improvements. The staff communication, passage of information, the friendliness and professionalism of the captain and his team throughout was fantastic. A really lovely day with Capn Nasser and his colleague. They ran the trip with only 3 of us so it felt almost like a private tour. We left before the other operators (we had to meet at 07:45) so had the first site pretty much to ourselves for about 45 mins before the other operators arrived - then it became a little crowded so we moved on. 20+ turtles at 1st site feeding, diving and surfacing. Wonderful group photos and videos sent to us by link immediately afterwards. Sandwiches and snacks during the morning were welcome. We went to 3 sites in total. At the second we only saw a couple of turtles but some pretty fish. The third didn't have so much wildlife but was nice and peaceful. Would definitely recommend the operator.

The experience we shared with Fahrat and his team could not be any better. Our whole experience as a family was just incredible, amazing, breathtaking from beginning to end ! The company made a sure we had everything we needed at all times: food is extremely good and in high quantity, they took care of ourselves like we really mattered , our guide Fahrat took a lot of pictures and videos so we could have souvenirs to take home and the underwater life is crazy … he made sure we could see some reef sharks and went beyond everything ! This company was recommended to us by a local Omani and it really was the best. The boat was nice and clean. The staff amazing, they really looked after us. They have snorkels and flippers to borrow if you don't have your own. We also felt incredibly safe with professional caring staff, the boat, the driving of the boat and whilst in the water. Water, fruit, sandwiches and biscuits were provided. We were given good, clear advice before getting into the water. On this day, we were incredibly lucky, seeing and swimming with massive whale sharks, which is rare. We also saw lots of fish and a pair of turtles feeding. Sometimes they see octopus, but sadly we did not see them this time, next time hopefully. I would highly recommend this company and book early, as at peak times, they get fully booked out in advance.

Turtles were the absolute highlight of our trip. The Captains were amazing, friendly, helpful, and ensured everyone respected the ocean. They didn't use or give us any plastic which I appreciated, catered sandwiches for vegetarians, extremely informative and well organised.

We had an amazing boat trip. Captain Fahad and Abdul gave us such a warm welcome – always smiling, friendly and incredibly helpful. They truly made this moment magical from start to finish. From the warm reception, to the thrill of the boat ride, to the snorkeling – thanks to Captain Fahad’s expertise and deep knowledge of the area, we were able to see no fewer than 8 turtles, an octopus, and blacktip sharks. And what can I say about the hospitality – club sandwiches, wraps, fresh fruit, and local cakes… absolutely top. What also really stood out was their strong respect for the environment. You can feel that they are genuinely passionate about protecting nature and making sure everything is preserved with care. I highly recommend this experience.

We had a lovely morning snorkelling and exploring the island. The company is really friendly and we had great communication. We have never seen so many turtles all at once. We also walked across the island to see small sharks- not to swim with though. The 2 captains made us feel very safe and provided sandwiches, biscuits and water. Fantastic 1/2 day to snorkel with turtles at the Daymaniat Islands. Very organised and safe trip. Captain Nassir and Abdul were welcoming, knowledgable and ensured that we had a great experience. We were very fortunate to also see cuttlefish during the snorkelling. On the boat trip we saw a whale shark and pods of dolphins adding to a very memorable morning! We chose the Daymaniat Shells team because of their conservation work and can highly recommend them.

Best trip on the island thanks to Fahad and Said! Nice welcome, nice boat, everything is well explained by Fahad and you can hear his love for the reef. He is also very experimented as diver instructor and knows so much about the reef. What I chose this company is that they really want to protect the reef and the animals which I I could see also during the day. The spots were truly amazing with time to snorkel to chill on the beach and see reef sharks, we really loved every minute. Thank you for everything

We were lucky enough to go out with Capt Nassir on the boat Monster Junior. The boat was immaculate, fast, comfortable with onboard shower and loo. The snorkel gear was in great shape too. We had an incredible experience with Daymaniat Shells on 14/2 with Captain Mboana. From the very beginning, communication with Lea was efficient, smooth, and very informative. Everything was clearly explained, which made the whole process easy and stress-free. The trip itself was absolutely amazing. We saw around 15 turtles in total — such a magical experience! We stopped at two different snorkelling spots as well as a beautiful beach. The water was crystal clear and the views were simply stunning. It was the first snorkelling experience for my 9-year-old, and Captain Mboana was incredibly helpful, patient, and reassuring, which made a big difference. He was also very thorough when it came to safety — both in the water and in ensuring the protection of the turtles and coral reefs. We really appreciated how seriously he took marine conservation while still making the experience fun and relaxed. A very special touch was the lovely brownies they arranged for my daughter’s sweet 16 — a truly delightful addition. Thank you to the entire team for a memorable and perfectly organised trip. The nicest and most professional crew, the captain, Fahad, was an exceptionally good guide. He promlsed ud turtles, and boy, did he keep his promise! An amazing trip out to the islands. Been on many of these trips all over the world but this one surpassed most of those. Great friendly crew, immaculate boat and saw the most amazing array of fish, turtles and octopuses to name a few. Would definitely recommend, easy to see why this trip gets the best ratings and reviews. There are May to choose from at the marina but I’d book this one again all day long. I booked whilst back home and was kept well informed with all the information needed for a successful trip. Absolutely amazing experience! The captain and crew were professional, kind, and very attentive. The boat was new and spotless, and their respect for sea turtles and marine life truly stood out—they encourage observing without disturbing them. Snacks were provided (with vegetarian options), and we even received a reusable water bottle to help reduce plastic waste. During snorkeling, the crew took beautiful photos and videos of the turtles, which we received just a few hours later. Highly recommended!

Wonderful trip with the crew at Daymaniat Shells. Informative, the gear was great and the food for lunch, especially the falafel toasted sandwich was lovely. They are passionate about the protection of the islands and are careful on arrival and departure , they anchor responsibly and promote no single use plastic along with clean oceans. Wonderful experience! The captain and all the staff are professional, kind, and attentive. The boat is new and clean. They are very attentive to animal welfare and the protection of sea turtles, inviting you to observe them without disturbing anyone. The trip was very pleasant and accompanied by snacks such as sandwiches (including vegetarian options), fruit, and biscuits. They gave us a beautiful and useful water bottle as a gift so as not to bring plastic to the islands we visited. During snorkeling, the crew takes photos and videos of the turtles, and the photos are delivered very quickly a few hours later. A wonderful experience that I recommend doing with them!

Great trip ! We did a half-day tour around the islands : boat was very confortable, the crew very nice, and we had snacks and water. The weather was not so nice, but the captain and the experience definitely made up for the cold wind ! We had explanations about the environement and the ecosystem, and we were touched by the captain's deep love of the island's nature. Definitely recommend them, and we saw some very nice marine life !!
