From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm welcome and the high level of professionalism demonstrated by the staff. The Front Office team provided excellent service throughout our stay. They were friendly, attentive, professional, and always willing to assist with any requests. The Housekeeping team also did an outstanding job, maintaining our room to a very high standard and ensuring that everything was clean, comfortable, and well prepared. We were equally impressed with the restaurants and dining services. The quality of the food, presentation, atmosphere, and attentive service made our dining experiences very enjoyable. Overall, our stay was relaxing and memorable. The combination of excellent hospitality, attention to detail, and professional service made Mandarin Oriental, Muscat a wonderful experience. We sincerely appreciate all the staff for their efforts and look forward to visiting again in the future. Our stay at the Mandarin Oriental Muscat was truly exceptional. The hotel itself is stunning, with spacious rooms that are beautifully designed and decorated with impeccable taste. I especially preferred the mountain/city view, which added a unique charm to the experience. Everything throughout the property is maintained to perfection. Housekeeping was flawless, and all the common areas were immaculate, elegant, and very pleasant to enjoy. The pool area is lovely as well, although there is still a little room for improvement. A very special mention goes to Mrs. Arefeh from Guest Relations, who welcomed us so warmly. She was incredibly professional, attentive, and genuinely caring throughout our stay. She guided us wonderfully and ensured that every request was handled promptly and efficiently with great kindness. This level of personalized service is exactly what sets a true five-star luxury hotel apart from others. Many thanks again to the entire team — we will most certainly return.

I recently had the pleasure of staying in a sea view club room. Firstly, the room was incredibly spacious, beautifully designed and curated, showcasing a thoughtful selection of high-quality amenities. I particularly appreciated the handheld clothes steamer and Dyson hairdryer. The hygiene products provided were of excellent quality. Frequent refreshing of the amenity kits would help, no option for ordering replacement cotton pads and earbuds on the app that I could see. Although the club lounge was closed due to the off-peak season, I was pleased to find that many benefits such as cocktail hour were still available at the bar, ensuring a comfortable experience. Unfortunately, I couldn't explore all the dining options as most were also closed for the season, I did eat at the Italian and both food and service was excellent. Enough options available to choose from at breakfast to keep each day varied. As expected, exemplary service received from all staff members; their attentiveness and friendliness truly enhanced the stay. I also enjoyed the beautifully kept swimming pool and its surrounding areas, which provided a serene atmosphere despite the hotel being located off the public beach and promenade. That being said, I did enjoy people watching on the terrace at sunset in as the locals enjoyed their evening strolls and football on the beach. The local artwork displayed throughout the hotel added a unique charm and made the environment even more inviting, providing lots of points of interest. I would appreciate more water being provided in the room, being a very hot country I found myself having to order an extra bottle of water from room service. Overall, my experience was excellent, meeting the high expectations I have come to associate with the MO brand. I look forward to returning.
The experience at this Mandarin Oriental falls short of the brand’s typically high standards, which is unfortunately something seen across several well-known highend hotel chains in Oman. One of the main issues is the lack of proper separation between family and adult areas. There are simply too many children in shared spaces, which significantly disrupts any sense of relaxation. The designated children’s pool is more of a shallow toddler pool, leading kids to spend most of their time at the main pool— shouting, running around, and throwing objects. This creates a chaotic atmosphere that feels far from the exclusivity one would expect. Service is another weak point. While the staff are clearly trying, the overall experience is slow, uncoordinated, and inconsistent. Service quality seems to depend heavily on luck, and patience is definitely required. Additionally, the day pass appears to be priced too low, attracting a high volume of non-hotel guests. This further diminishes the experience for those staying at the hotel and contributes to the overcrowded feeling. Overall, the property struggles to deliver the level of exclusivity and refinement associated with the Mandarin Oriental brand. There seems to be a lack of strong management and direction, which is noticeable in both the bigger picture and the finer details. A disappointing outcome for such a prime location and a prestigious name.
