The whole tour was nice, I booked us for a tour in German, but we don't speak much German. Our guide did her best to include us and explain things.

Itinerary
Viktualienmarkt, who doesn’t make your mouth water at this word? An incomparable aroma unfolds here on 22,000 sqm: delicatessen and vegetables, fish and meat, bread and cheese, flowers and juices, fruit and antipasti, eggs and potatoes. Diversity and the highest quality are what make the market so attractive. We try delicacies from up to 8 stands and have, for example, prepared these delicacies for you: • Refreshing or warming organic welcome drink - prepared for you depending on the season • hearty sausage specialties • Double-baked farmer's crust bread • Bavarian antipasti • Munich's best fresh pretzels • exquisite cheese variation • exotic and regional fruit • freshly squeezed fruit juice We start our tour at the Isartor, where we are given a welcome drink from the Demeter-certified St. Michaelshof. We walk along the old city wall until we get to the Viktualienmarkt. At Bablers Räucherkistl we can look forward to a plate with smoked sausage specialties. We also serve the famous and multi-award-winning double-baked farmer's crust bread from Bäckerliesl, which, at over 90 years old, is the oldest woman on the market. Of course, vegetarians are not neglected either: we offer an exotic fruit platter from the neighboring fruit and vegetable shop. Countless stories during the tour lead us through the history of the market to the present: How did the Viktualienmarkt actually come about? When did the market women dance? Where do market people take their goods to in the evening? How do you get to a stand and how much do stand owners have to pay to the city? At the Sauren Eck we taste fresh antipasti with olives, pickled vegetables and various seasonal specialties. Let yourself be surprised! There are also fresh pretzels - praised by many Munich residents as the best in the city - from Karnoll's bakery and coffee shops. Finally, we have prepared a plate with delicate cheese specialties, because it is known that this closes the stomach. Try Munich's best obazdn and unusual cheeses. To round off the tour, there is still a freshly squeezed juice for each guest. In addition to trying, we answer your questions, introduce the stands and stand owners and show you some unknown corners of the market.

The description needs to be more detailed as to what language is used on the tour. This tour was given in German only. Since we don't speak German, the tour was basically useless to us. A waste of $300. Too bad because I was looking forward to this.
We participated in the culinary Viktualienmarkt city tour. Our city guide Sabine was super! The group size of 12 people was just right. Many culinary bites were served. We got a great insight into and around the Viktualienmarkt. Sabine had many stories to tell. We highly recommend the tour and will definitely book it again.
The tour guide Katharina Seifert was very competent and friendly. 😊 We felt very included right away. The information was informative and entertaining at the same time. 👋👍 Keep it up Angelika 👋👋
It was entertaining, the group size of 15 people was optimal, there shouldn't be any more! Ms. Kilian was able to answer all questions; she has good knowledge for such tours. The delicacies were all very delicious and plentiful. However, the price-performance ratio is not justified! I have already done many market tours in large and small cities, all between € 15.- and 25.- Munich is more expensive, ok, but 49.- ?!??!? For syrup with water - as a “welcome drink …
It was very interesting and the culinary snacks were also very delicious.
It was a great tour. Our expectations were more than met.
The afternoon beer tour was a real highlight of our stay in Munich. From the beginning, everything was excellently organized, and the tour offered the perfect blend of exciting information, interesting insights into the art of brewing, and a good dose of humor. Our guide knew perfectly how to convey his knowledge in a relaxed and entertaining way. You could feel the passion for Munich's beer culture in every moment. The tastings were excellently selected and provided an authentic insight into the variety of regional beers. The warm atmosphere throughout the entire tour is particularly worth highlighting. There was enough time left for questions, conversations, and exchanging ideas with the other participants, which further enriched the experience. A big thank you to the entire team for the perfect organization and execution. We can recommend the beer tour without reservation and would participate again at any time. Anyone who wants to experience Munich and its beer culture in an authentic, exciting, and enjoyable way has come to the right place.
The meeting point was at the Isartor; it was a super nice group. Ms. Kilian welcomed us and explained everything. I had indicated in advance that I am a vegetarian (she was aware of it). My friend is in a wheelchair (I had also indicated that beforehand). Ms. Kilian was considerate from the very first minute and thus provided her with a super nice tour. Ms. Kilian LIVES and loves Munich; that was really very, very nice and also interesting for us Munich locals. There is always something new. The food is more than sufficient; it is a lot, a lot. And it tastes really very, very good. We were thrilled. I can really only recommend it. The weather was great for us, so it was a perfect day.
We gave the tour to a friend for her birthday. The five of us were all very satisfied. There was plenty to eat, the city guide told stories very vividly and was humorous. We all liked it very, very much. Highly recommended.
Gina was a great tour guide, was very well informed, and could tell quite a few stories. We tried a lot and were very full afterward!! Would do it again anytime, absolute recommendation.
We were absolutely thrilled with the city tour of the Viktualienmarkt with Weißvogel! The tour was not only extremely informative but also lively and entertaining. You can immediately tell that a lot of passion and expertise come together here. I particularly enjoyed the mix of historical background information, exciting anecdotes, and insights into the current significance of the Viktualienmarkt. Even as a local, I was able to discover a lot of new things. The tour was very engaging, varied, and perfectly organized. The guide managed to convey the atmosphere of Munich authentically and individually addressed the group. Questions were answered competently and kindly at any time. I can wholeheartedly recommend this tour – a great experience for tourists as well as for Munich residents themselves!
Eva was a great, knowledgeable guide, had a lot to share, and had supplementary materials on hand, using them for visual reference whenever appropriate. We have already done the City Bird Tour over the Viktualienmarkt twice - and it is always delightful!
It was a very nice tour from the Isartor over to the Viktualienmarkt. Many great stories and interesting facts about the old city of Munich. Highly recommended, and not just for tourists.
Dear ladies and gentlemen, I will now take the time to provide a detailed report of the visit. I allow myself to offer personal criticism, as I have already attended the night watchman tour and, involuntarily, the delicacies tour (the Viktualien tour was booked but was changed on short notice by them). Meeting point: the Isartor is a reasonable meeting point. Few tourists and certainly easy for everyone to find. For me personally, it was relatively tedious as there were no recognizable tour guides on site and we had to inquire with various providers. When the tour guides finally appeared, they were recognizable. However, it was not clear who was responsible for which tour. As soon as the payment was completed, we were directed to a corner. There we waited, not knowing whether we were waiting for more participants or for the tour guides to finish their private chat. Welcome drink: this promotional activity for your cooperation partner is certainly understandable at the Schmankerl Tour. However, it is inappropriate for the Viktualien Tour, as it is time-consuming advertising for a mediocre product. On the march to the Viktualienmarkt, there was extensive information provided about the remnants of the city wall. Certainly interesting, but more a part of a city tour rather than a tour of the market. Upon arriving at the market, the next advertisement for the cooperation partner was made with the note that one should visit the stand after the tour, as they have a corresponding product for every ailment. From the same location, the best pretzel in Munich was advertised. In passing, we briefly received the information that the operator does not like to adhere to applicable laws. Hastily passing by the stand to immediately receive the next promotional activity about the supposedly best bread in Munich. We continued on to the sour corner. There we learned that the best Bavarian antipasti are available. The brief cucumber episode was explained, and we moved on. Once briefly across the square to the Heiliggeist Church. There, the best pretzels and Bavarian antipasti were served for tasting. Now, as a restaurateur and the person responsible for the preparation of the dishes, I would like to point out a few criticisms regarding the served products. The best pretzel in Munich is relatively small. As a result, 80% of the dough sections are relatively thin, and thus the crust ratio is very high. In the evening at Aumeister, the best pretzel was far surpassed. I certainly consider sour cucumber to be a Bavarian antipasti. But now please explain to me, what do hummus, Greek goat cheese, Greek and Turkish olives, and small bell peppers have to do with Bavaria? For fun, I would rather classify Weisswurst and Leberkäs as Bavarian antipasti. After all, we received about 4 minutes of information about the market at this stand. The market square, the number of stalls, the inhumane working conditions, and the number of cellar rooms were briefly discussed. Afterward, the location changed by an estimated 3 meters, and we received information about the butcher's row at the old city wall. Shortly thereafter, we were served the best bread in Munich, complemented by your cold platter. Here too, the meat products were rather average and certainly not a highlight. During the delicacy tour, a liver cheese was served at the same place, which was certainly a better product than the various cold meat products. Now followed a somewhat bizarre interlude in the church. At least for Swiss people, it is hard to understand informing a tour group in a church that really has no interest in this church. Fundamentally, we booked a tour for the Viktualienmarkt, which suggests that we have only limited interest in the church, especially since it is not really related to the market. After that, we went to the last location for cheese tasting. In passing, we learned how conservative Munich is and the incredible problems it has with signs on restroom doors and with vegan vendors. Interestingly, the first vegan stall opened two years ago, which leads me to suspect that there were no vegetable vendors in the square before that time. It was explained that the cheese stand produces five cheeses in-house in Munich. Great. Afterward, three cheeses were tasted. This raises the question for me whether the budget of €50 per person, after already tasting products worth about three euros per person, was stretched to the point that the last two cheese varieties from this innovative company could not be tasted anymore. All in all, there was a nice, always eager tour guide who had to serve as a better advertising icon for selected cooperation partners. The information about the market was more than sparse. However, we had to realize that the majority of the tour's visitors were more interested in food than in information. Such people would honestly need to be told that with €50 at the market, they would receive significantly more food. To be honest, we could have used the time of the tour much more meaningfully and cost-effectively. I hope the criticism was objective and detailed enough. I do not expect a response, as this was also the case with my email in 2021. We will certainly not recommend the white city bird, our customers, partners, and families for tours in the future. With kind regards and well-meaning advice, I wish you a successful future.
It was a special experience. Gerd is a really good storyteller and explainer..
Very nice tour, competent and entertaining guide, delicious treats. Highly recommended!
It was a very entertaining tour. The history of the Viktualienmarkt was conveyed excitingly. You can tell that Joachim is a guide with body and soul. The selection of culinary delights was very good.
Maybe our rating is influenced by cold weather and rain, but still: Influenced by the description, we went without breakfast and hungry for the tour - and had to wait over 1h until we got something to eat. At the beginning of the tour there was a shot glass with cold juice, then we were told a lot about the delicious food like the fish rolls. Many booths said - we'll try that later. At some point they bought pretzels, which we were only to get later, because we were to eat them with antipasti. Since it was 12 o'clock in the meantime, we were really struggling without breakfast, always hearing about the delicious food and getting Nix. After more than 1 h I finally got the pretzel, I got it from above the bag which was freezing cold and wet in the meantime (it would have been delicious right after the purchase). The antipasti didn't come a little later. Even if they were delicious, we would have been more happy about a whole typical cucumber than about 3 slices of cucumber with hummus and pickled peppers. Then there was a sausage platter, from which you could take a pickser sausage on slices of bread. Some of the group bought warm liver rolls here, which looked much better in the cold than cold sausage breads. We left the tour at this point because it was much too cold without something warm and the next announced cheese plate (probably with bread) and another announced slice of the best bread did not irritate us. We also preferred to buy liver cheese rolls! We think that such a tasting tour could be organized much better - the food should be distributed equally in time and the top product from each stand - preferably as finger food. Our guide was nice, informative and probably could not make regarding the process.
A great birthday present from my friends! The tour was great. In addition to the treats, there were exciting historical insights into the city's history and a lot to smile about. Gabi led the tour and did very well!
Basically, my expectations regarding historical overview and current condition have been fulfilled.Unfortunately, my expectation of figures on sales or customer contacts or booth rentals has not been answered, which is of course because neither the dealers nor the lessor publishes the corresponding information. My expectations were too high, Nonetheless, all the tasting bites were very delicious, I bought a little something at the cheese stand after the tour.
The Viktualienmarkt tasting tour was quite well done and a great guide who put a lot of effort into it. I thought it was cheeky that you had to pay 5€ even though I only bought the voucher 9 months ago. Therefore, I will never book with the Enterprise again, although I have done many tours there. You weren't really full after the meal, although it was so touted in the text. Included were a pretzel, 1-2 slices of bread, about 50 g of sausage, 3 pieces of cheese, a bowl of antipasti and a small cup of syrup water, value of goods probably 6-8 €. With the money, we would have preferred to shop properly on the Viktualienmarkt. A few years ago, the leadership had a better price-performance ratio for everyone, but the provider has probably fallen for greed. Too bad.
We had the vegan delicacies tour of the Viktualienmarkt - a total of 2 hours, which was really very entertaining. The tasting bites on offer were delicious and it was also very interesting to learn how the individual foods are grown, processed or presented. Overall, I found the delicacies tour a bit overpriced and would therefore recommend it only to a limited extent.
I already made the tour to the 2. Once done! Was very rich, interesting and was a lot of fun. Thank you so much!
Good and interesting guidance. Great explanation, nice guide and good delicacies to try. The only drawback, our guide “Elke” had to keep the food on the tray. It would make sense if a small table were provided at the tasting points. Trying would be a little more relaxed as a guest!
The tour of the Viktualienmarkt was really great! Gina has guided and told us very entertaining. The delicacies from the market were very delicious, especially the pretzel and the antipasti. Unfortunately we only had 5 courses, the fruit in the end was missing. That really would have been a round conclusion. Didn't stop the whole thing. We were always fed up! This tour can be recommended without restriction.
Great tour with many historical elements, fun facts and delicious delicacies. Bianca was a super guide, very friendly, positive charisma and exciting stories!
It was a very good tour with many delicacies. The tour guide was very emphatic and entertained us with great information. Absolute recommendation.
It was a very entertaining tour with lots of interesting information about and also something around the Viktualienmarkt. The samples were very well selected and consistently tasty. A big praise to the Führerin Ms. Wagner.
Great leadership. Very personable and competent guide. The delicacies were also very good. Even if you are a Municher yourself, you can learn a lot of new and interesting things.
Competent and very sympathetic guide, excellently organized. Tasting stations were chosen to be balanced, as was the information presented. Definitely suitable for couples and families!
Lots of useful info—combined with delicious Snscks. Although I live in Munich, I have learned new things. The Wetee played along great.
The Viktualienmarkt tasting tour by Weissen Stadtvogel is an absolute highlight for gourmets and Munich lovers! The tour offers a great mix of exciting background stories, charming city tours and delicious tastings at the best stands in the market. The guides are super friendly, well informed and provide an entertaining atmosphere. Perfect for getting to know the variety and quality of regional specialities. Highly recommended!
Super clear and interesting information about the Viktualienmarkt, the city of Munich and delicious snacks that were already a meal. Especially the sausage plate was great! But also the rest very good. Thanks to Julia for the Great Tour and Guided Tour
Tolle Führung, mit viel Informationen rund um München, den Markt und leckeren Köstlichkeiten. Sehr empfehlenswert.
Sympathetic guide ( Gina) , enough food to get full, very interesting guide. It was entertaining and we saw a lot and also got to know a lot about Munich. Is also recommended as a Municher
We really enjoyed the tour of the Viktualienmarkt. There was plenty to eat and drink; sausage platter, cheese platter, crispy pretzel, cucumber, olives. The small history lesson on this was also interestingly told. The weather was not so great; it rained. But it wasn't so crowded on the market.
A great tour I can only recommend! Our guide gave us a perfect introduction to the story and the tastings were particularly good.
We participated in the Viktualienmarkt tasting tour and were all very enthusiastic about the tour. I would recommend everyone to participate. Even for people who have lived in Munich for years, it was very interesting. The tour guide was very likeable and did great.
Die Tour hat uns sehr gefallen . Mit Gert hatten wir einen tollen Guide, der sehr kurzweilig und lebendig über den Viktualienmarkt erzählt hat. Die Schmankerln waren reichhaltig und lecker.
Very nice, all great, highly recommended. You have to experience it. Would do again immediately with friends. Of course the weather was right.
It was very informative, the leader was absolutely authentic and personable, a completely recommended tour !!
Long-winded explanations and from at ‘Probiertour’ I imagined something thoughtful. Especially at the price! Sorry, but not recommended if you are not interested in who laid which stone at the Viktualienmarkt
We experienced a super entertaining, entertaining and informative tour with Katharina. The stops with the delicious delicacies made the whole thing perfect. We learned great stories and interesting facts about the Viktualienmarkt and the surrounding area and were happily smart and fed up in the end. Thank you Katharina, the team and the nice standers.
Die Nähe zu den Verkäufern die sich mit den Marktständen selbst identifizieren. Ware von allerfeinstem wird angeboten
We started on time at the Isar Gate. Our guide, Gert, introduced himself as Ur-Bayer, a Munich Kindl, Kinheit in Lower Bavaria, school days in Munich. We were not fed with annual figures but with samples from the Viktualienmarkt: Raw sugar juice, starters from the ACID CORNER, fresh pretzels, sausage platter from the butcher's row opposite and finally a small cheese platter for everyone. Gert knows its victual market, the dealers and the goods. That was very entertaining and delicious. No one went home hungry. Highly recommended!
Great guided tour with a humorous, authentic Munich man. Interesting background information and delicious specialties
Very interesting tour, especially by Matthias very well led, enriched by many episodes and stories, also his Bavarian and humorous manner was a lot of fun, not least his real Bavarian clothing
Guide Ute was great! I have rarely met someone who knew so much about the city and was able to provide information on peripheral areas. It was also interesting for Munich residents and you really feel full afterwards! ;-) The only thing missing from the tour was something "fishy". Perhaps something could be done in that regard in the future.
Entertaining, informative and above all - very tasty and filling! After the welcome drink, we made three more culinary stops: Bread&Bacon/Ham/Sausage - Pretzel&Pickled Food - Bread&Cheese
