Jax is knowledge and passionate about the events leading to the Third Reich. The tour is far more enjoyable when the guide has a connection to the subject which Jax has through his grandfather.

We took a private tour of Dachau with Heart of Munich today, including transport from our hotel. Our guide, Scott, was exceptional: incredibly knowledgeable and able to explain the history with real depth and clarity. His expertise was evident throughout. Dachau is a deeply solemn place, and Scott approached it with the respect and sensitivity it deserves. We came away with a much deeper understanding, making this a powerful and valuable learning experience. We would highly recommend Scott and Heart of Munich to anyone wanting a thoughtful, informative visit with an excellent guide.
Scott was an incredible guide, very informative! Recommend to get a history lesson on this area
Jax was our tour guide and extremely informative. His knowledge of the information was perfect. Enabling us to sit down on several occasions was great. 😊. I would highly recommend this tour.
Super lead. Jax was awesome . Covered the third Reich with alot of enthusiasm. Answered lots of questions. Gave great advice after the tour.
Tour was very informative and highly recommend!! Jax was great at explaining the early childhood of A. Hitler and his coming to power and Munich pre and post WWI. Loved all the pictures he shared with us throughout the tour.
My partner and I had a great time on our tour with Sarah! We were lucky enough to be the only 2 booked on the tour - with such a small group, it felt like we were on a tour with a friend who was just super knowledgeable! Our guide provided great insights and the historic pictures of Munich were a cool reference. She also answered all of our many questions about German life today. Overall we had a great time and would definitely recommend booking this tour!
This tour was very interesting and I learned a lot from the tour guide Sarah. She was extremely knowledgeable and very engaging. The tour went at a comfortable pace and all the various sites involved in the rise of the Nazi regime were very well explained. It was a real bonus that Sarah is a native German and could bring a perspective on the crimes of the Nazi regime from a more personal perspective, as someone in the second/third generation after these events. I highly recommend this tour and the tour guide Sarah!
Excellent tour informative and interesting. Sarah was very good fun and also very knowledgeable. Definitely recommend
The Third Reich walking tour was extremely educational and enjoyable. Sarah provided knowledgeable insight into the topic. There is a lot more talking, than walking (which was a good thing on a hot day!) Total distance walked 3km. Tour duration 2.5hrs. Highly recommended
We did this walking tour of Munich and met up at Carl Thomas Store. We covered the following: Marienplatz New Town hall Frauenkirche (Cathedral) Odeonsplatz Residenz Palace Hofbräuhaus Viktualienmarkt (Food market) It was an excellent tour and we covered many of the main attractions.
This tour was very interactive and engaging. Lots of little details to keep you learning and wanting to see more. Thank you Jax!
This tour far exceeded our expectations. It has left us with many insights into both the historical development of the third reich in Munich and the complex social history created for Munich and Bavarian residents. Our tour guide Sarah had an extremely impressive knowledge and challenged us to think beyond the everyday questions about fascism. I highly recommend the tour to anyone who visits Munich.
Go ahead and book this tour. We learnt so much from Jax who is incredibly knowledgable and passionate. With a small group he was able to answer questions and bring history alive with details.
I booked the tour for some guests and they where super happy with the tour and Jax! Everything from the start was seamless from the booking process, payment and the day of the tour. Everything went great! I would highly recommend them and work with them again
I have just spent over 2 hours 30 minutes on the above tour. The leader was Jax, who has thoroughly researched all the facts and all the locations in Munich, that tells the beginning of this period of history. I have nothing but praise for Jax and I urge anyone interested to learn more , to join one of his tours
Jak conducted the tour with humour, Bavarian & Munchen history, saw the musical klochenspiel scene on the Rathaus then visited inside the Rathaus & the cathedral, walked through the passages to the Hofbrauhaus & the square when Hitler made some speeches & finished at the market.
We did the Third Reich Small Group Tour with Heart of Munich Tours last weekend, and it was, without a doubt, the highlight of our entire trip. Our guide, Jax, was exceptional. Rather than simply reciting facts, he brought Munich's history to life with genuine passion and real storytelling ability, weaving together events, context, and personal anecdotes that kept our whole family engaged from start to finish. This is heavy and important history, and Jax handled it with the depth and respect it deserves, while still keeping us captivated throughout. He was also considerate of the group's comfort, building in water and bathroom breaks along the way. We'd highly recommend this tour, and Jax in particular, to anyone visiting Munich who wants to truly understand the city's past.
Excellent tour. Excellent guide. Tour guide full of knowledge and education. Even in those few hours so much history and context covered. I will do private tours with them. Highly recommend
Sarah was our guide for both this and the free Munich walking tour on first and second of June. Sarah was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. She had a great depth of knowledge and the group talked openly about many aspects. We would highly recommend Heart of Munich Tours.
Extremely interesting tour with Sarah who was knowledgable and shared very interesting information. Her particular insights and provision of pictures showing the places we visited as they were in the 1930s really brought things to life. She was very respectful of the group and fielded all questions really well and allowed people to add their views and/or knowledge.
Our tour was with Sarah who was knowledgeable and gave us some informative insight into the rise of the third Reich. She was very accommodating of my partner who was on crutches which was greatly appreciated.
We had a fabulous tour. His knowledge (& passion) is undeniable. We learnt so much (& laughed a lot). We can't recommend this tour enough.
Heart of Munich Tour. Patrick was fabulous. Excellent knowledge and humour was great. Would recommend.
Wonderful walking tour. Very knowledgeable tour guide with the ability to deliver information in an informative and sometimes humorous manner. Time to use facilities during the walk, grab a walking beer and food during the tour. Would really recommend Patrick.
We had a great time with Sarah today. She was a fantastic guide. Very knowledgeable and passionate about tour. We enjoyed our discussions with Sarah and also had a few laughs along the way. We would definitely recommend this tour.
Great trip with Tom through history - i went with two 15 year olds and they were fascinated- very happy with this experience- great how Tom performed the tour like a skilled performer pulling artefacts out of his magic bag at the right moment to make the experience of history very alive
Did a city tour with Jax and enjoyed it so much that I wanted to do his Third Reich tour but it doesn’t run in Jan/Feb.. Jax said he would do it anyway if I could get together a small group. In the end he took five of us the next day in the afternoon. It was a really interesting tour. Enjoyed all the extra pictures he showed us along the way on his tablet and having everything presented chronologically really helped understand the history easily. Although there are not many original sites to see today (due to heavy bombing), Jax kept us captivated throughout the entire tour with his style of guiding, which made us all feel included in the learning experience. Would definitely recommend.
We did a private group tour for 23 people and what an informative and interactive it was! Jax is an amazing guide and very knowledgeable. The administrative correspondence and booking process was easy and communication was clear and fast. Highly recommended for a great Munich walking experience.
Heart of Munich is great! Very highly recommended! We booked both the Third Reich Small Tour and the Munich Walking Tour with them. They were very responsive and organized while setting up the tours and meeting place instructions were very clear. We did the Third Reich Tour with Jax. He was very passionate and knowledgeable about history and provided us with a lot of context of how the Third Reich came to be. Being a small group, he was able to engage with everyone and answer all our questions. I would absolutely recommend Heart of Munich. You can see how much passion they have for the work they do!
Jo was amazing!!! Would highly recommend! Went on the tour with a colleague and learned a lot of history through great storytelling.
We did the Third Reich tour in Munich with Jax (the owner) as our guide, and it was honestly amazing. The tour lasted a few hours and was at a really nice pace — not rushed at all. Jax was super knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the history. What made it even better was that he only takes small groups, which was such a contrast to all the other huge tours we saw. Those big groups looked like they were struggling to hear anything, while we could easily chat with Jax and ask loads of questions. He had really detailed answers for everything. It was such a great way to see Munich and learn more about this part of history. I walked away feeling like I’d actually learned a lot. Definitely recommend this tour!
We took the tour today with Aileen. What a lovely knowledge guide. So informative and interesting. Highly recommend. You can’t beat the price. So glad we did it.
We have a tour with Sarah a very knowledge guyed The tour was about Bavaria in the nazi regime It all get in time and very informative. Thank you for the tour
We were very impressed with this tour. Our attentive guide, gave a good informative tour as we walked to various places from Hitler's time in Munich. We felt it answered some of our questions about a difficult and awful period in history. Our guide was mindful of the cold weather and found places we could stand to stay a bit warmer. Also guide Aileen helped us find our way to train station after the tour. She also gave helpful general info which was useful as we travelled on in Germany.
I would highly recommend this tour! Jax was a wonderful guide - very friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. He shared a lot of information and took time to answer questions after the tour. Would 100% recommend.
We did 2 tours with this company. As we enjoyed the first one (Patrick) so much we booked another with Ajax the following day. Highly recommended
Our group was small. We could hear well and had time to ask lots of questions. Our guide expkained from the beginning how Hitler took over government. Walking over the same stones and seeing history in the stones made the sad story come alive. We had studied this history, Now we can put together how and where it happened
Fantastic tour. Our guide Brett was very knowledgeable about the city and made it fun too! Would highly recommend this tour. We walked away having a better appreciation for the city.
An extremely educational tour of historical sites filled with stories about the improbable rise of Adolf Hitler.
We joined two ‘Heart of Munich’ walking tours during our holiday this week and thoroughly enjoyed both. The first, on Tuesday, was the Free Walking Tour led by Brett. He was friendly, enthusiastic, and shared his local knowledge in an engaging way. Highlights included the beautiful Marienplatz Glockenspiel, and we left with a great sense of the key sites to explore during our stay. We enjoyed Brett’s tour so much that we booked a second, smaller-group paid tour on Thursday – The Nazi Munich walking tour, led by Scott. This was excellent from start to finish. Scott gave us a fascinating and in-depth insight into the rise of Nazism in Munich and guided us to sites of real historical importance. The Memorial to the Victims of National Socialism was particularly poignant. We would highly recommend both tours to anyone visiting Munich.
Great informative tour by Scott which kept us all captivated for 2.5 hours. He was incredibly knowledgeable, focused on Munich’s place in WW2 and the Nazi regime as well as concisely covering the wider 1870-1945 history. Excellent for family with teens studying history. Thank you so much.
A very informative tour by Jax who explained things really clearly. Well worth the cost of the tours. Even in the rain it was well worth the experience.
Easy booking, finding our guide and check in. Jax was a great guide from start to finish. Very easy to understand and gave a fab tour of Munich Old Town. His knowledge and education of Munich was second to none - even things that you wouldn't hear anywhere else and great hints and tips. When back in Munich, will definitely do the Third Reich Tour. Thanks again Jax (and team).
I was really looking forward to this walking tour. The meeting instructions were precise and seamless. Our guide , Jax , had an easy approachable manner , and kept up a running commentary peppered with unexpected anecdotes which made the whole experience come alive. I will never look at the ceiling in the Hofbräuhaus quite the same again. It was a , flat , easy walk with numerous stops. It was informative and extremely good value. Just do it!
Excellent tour. Easy to understand and project his voice well enough to be heard easily. Covered a good portion of the of old town Munich. I would do it again.
Had a private Third Reich walking tour with Scott. Scott was extremely knowledgeable and he explained the context/history of the sites in relation to Hitler's rise to power until his death (as well as some generally history about Munich and Bavaria). Would absolutely recommend.
Jax was very engaging and informed. He made the history of Munich come alive in a respectful and interesting way. It was fascinating to see the places along with his historical photos and learn more than anything taught in US history classes. Highly recommend this tour and Jax!
Entertaining and informative tour with Jax! We had a fantastic time learning about Munich (history, culture, nightlife, restaurant - a bit of everything). Would recommend taking this tour on your first day!
Max was an excellent guide, great information and plenty of banter throughout. One small observation, could enhance experience with use of 🎤. Otherwise brilliant throughout
