Katrina was well versed in the subject matter and able to relay the stories she presented like a professional storyteller. She lightened the heavy mood of murder and mayhem by using humor when appropriate. She was aware of her audience regarding the amount of walking and distance involved by providing opportunities to sit as needed.

Excellent 2 hour tour around Munich, taking in the usual beautiful sights but with them as the backdrop to recent and historical criminal deeds! It made a lovely change to the usual city centre walking tour.

Fantastic 2 hours of true crime - which had some sad moments but nothing too grim. It delivered on what you would expect from a tour of this nature.

Excellent tour! We had Victoria who was so interesting and informed. It ended up just being myself and my daughter but this actually made it nicer and more personable. We learnt some gruesome facts and discovered new stories to learn more about. Highly recommend this tour.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Victoria and the ghosts of Munich. We talked with her the entire time about every place we were shown and learned a whole pile of new ghastly things. Truly worth it and Victoria was a perfectly charming guide.

Katrina was an extremely knowledgeable and fun host. This is a great tour for true-crime followers, and for those who have gone to Neuschwanstein and want to learn more about the Bavarian kings, there's a part of this tour that will give you invaluable insight into Ludwig II's final days that you won't hear on any castle tour.

The guide was a very good storyteller. Even som of us were from Munich, she managed to surprise us with crime history even we didn’t know.

These tours are a must whenever we go to Munich. The host, Katarina, is always so informed, friendly, and funny--she's also great at setting the mood! The trip takes us around such interesting parts of the city we may otherwise miss, and she does a wonderful job building in times to rest. Engaging, fascinating, and unforgettable!

My husband and I absolutely loved the true crime tour. We also did the ghost tour, and we were happy to find that each tour had it's own stories, so it didn't feel like we did ine tour twice. The stories that the guide told were very interesting. We also were in Munich during Oktoberfest, and the guide added a few extra Oktoberfest crime stories. We really enjoyed that. The tour had great communication before, and we knew exactly where we needed to be and what time. If you are into true crime, then this tour is for you

We were a small group on a Monday afternoon. That allowed for back-and-forth conversation with Katrina and digging in a little deeper with some questions. She is very knowledgeable, a great presenter, and English sounds like a first language. A fun tour with lots of information for True Crime nerds, ranging from the 1500s all the way to 2016.

If you’re a true crime fan, then I highly recommend joining this tour. There’s a lot to learn about Munich’s dark history. Katrina was fun and made it interesting :)

Our wonderful and very funny guide Sophie showed us around and told so many interesting stories that time just flew by. It was so cool to get to know Munich, the city we both studied in, from a whole different perspective. Interesting, funny and very entertaining. We had a great time and know more about Munichs history now - I highly recommend!

This is a fantastic tour for any True Crime fans wanting to learn more about Munich's history with all types of crimes and mysteries. Katrina was very friendly and clever, and she even took us to a few extra spots which made us feel more special and individualized as a group. Her passion for true crime (and all things spooky) throughout Munich's history made it engaging and educational. You will likely see parts of Munich that other tourists don't notice or explore --- I highly recommend!

Very nice tour, Katrina was super friendly and the stories were very interesting. It was super cold at he day and Katrina knew how to adapt the tour so we would be inside on some of the spots. Can recommend! They also have other tours that I will surely be doing eventually

One of my favorite experiences in Munich. The “true crime” theme is really an opportunity to look at the history of the city through a different lens, and it definitely delivered. Yes, there are many fascinating stories, but I most appreciated that our tour guide did such a great job of explaining the cultural/historical context in which many of these crimes occurred. You walk away getting a better sense of Munich through many different time periods, including present day. Can’t recommend enough.

I highly recommend this tour. I did this tour in March with Katrina and it was absolutely fantastic. Katrina was super knowledgeable about Munich and the all the true crime stops on the tour. This was a great way to see the city and learn a little about the true crime of Munich. liked this tour so much I did the Ghost and Spirts tour the next night which was also excellent. Wear comfortable shoes as you get to see a lot during the two hour tour. The walk is a flat walk with no hills.

An engaging way to learn more about Munich’s history and walk around city center near Marienplatz! Coming from the US, and being a real crime and mystery reader, not much shocks me. But, the metal rendition of a chalk outline in the sidewalk outside of a posh hotel where a Bavarian/German leader was assassinated did surprise me. The tour guide was a delightful, well prepared facilitator who carried along pictures to illustrate the well-told tales of plots, misunderstandings, and blatant disregard for the rights of other people. He also had a small microphone and speaker that was helpful as our tour was during the celebration of Carnival and the surrounding area could be loud. He answered questions asked, and his animated presentation made me smile. If you like the topic of the tour, I give it a solid recommendation!

Had a brilliant time on the tour today with Lockie. Non-stop entertainment and some really interesting stories about true crime in Munich. Could not recommend this more for those interested in true crime and the macabre.

This was our second time to Munich, and since we enjoyed our tours with BlackBook Tours so much the first time, we decided to see what else they had to offer. Just based on our own limited availability, we ended up doing the True Crime tour. We are by no means True Crime aficionados, but you don't need to be for this tour. The stories span the centuries; and cover a wide range of types of crimes, criminals, and outcomes. It really was fascinating, and even lead us down a bit of a research rabbit hole later that night which ended up risking our ability to sleep - some of the stories/details really are that gruesome. Having done quite a fair share of guided tours around the world, one thing I really have come to appreciate is the personality of the guide his/herself. And this is where BlackBook tours really is a notch above others. Katrina is upbeat, friendly, funny, and real. You just can't fake that, and it makes all the difference. One important note if you're considering booking this tour - and it unfortunately needs to be said - this is, as advertised, an outdoor walking tour. It involves walking and standing outside for a considerable length of time. Be realistic with yourself and do not underestimate the impact of the weather on on your experience. Check the forecast, and check it again. If it's forecast to be literally freezing (as it was for us), add an extra layer and some extra accessories (scarf, hat, gloves) to whatever you THINK should be sufficient. Maybe bring an insulated mug full of a warm beverage. And then don't blame the guide if they aren't magically able to make the weather bend to their/your will.

I signed up for this tour, knowing full well that the weather was not the best. When I showed up, I was told that I was the only one on the tour, so Katrina gave me the option of continuing the walking tour in the dreary weather or going to a warm, cozy place instead. I opted for the warm, cozy place. This was perfect for me since I enjoy the various true crime podcasts that are out there, so it was like being able to sit down with a podcast creator and hear the various stories and ask all the questions you've ever wanted to ask. She also had pictures that went along with each of the crimes being discussed, so it was the perfect mixture of a podcast and fantastic Christmas cocktails. I am sure this tour is even better when you get to see some of the sites that she talks about, but I really enjoyed the warm, cozy option. When I return to Munich in 2024, I will certainly sign up for other tours Katrina offers!
