Welcome to the fascinating underwater world at SEA LIFE Munich! Located directly in the Olympic Park you'll go an exciting journey through the mysterious marine habitats and discover more than 3,000 sea creatures - from the Danube Delta, the coral cave, the seahorse bay and the Mediterranean port to the Atlantic! Marvel at shimmering sea creatures up close in an eight-meter-long ocean tunnel. The highlight: See the largest variety of sharks in Germany and meet over 20 different shark species such as pyjama cat sharks, zebra sharks or Japanese carpet sharks. In addition SEA LIFE Munich offers other exciting discoveries: very small residents, such as minnows or doctor fish, can be admired as well as impressively large groupers and sea turtle.

It is our 2nd time in Sea Life München but the experience is always unforgettable. This time my youngest son enjoyed it as well that from outside he would already scream ,,Fish" & call out to Nemo 😂 It is for us another Core Memory for the kids unlocked ❤️
It’s good experience for the family. Duration is about 1 1/2 hours. For younger kids there is a pirate trail to follow whilst they go round. I feel that the price for entry is too high, especially as there is no discount for children or seniors.
Very nice place to visit. Lots of interesting animals to look at, we even saw an embryo shark. Staff was friendly, spoke great English. They were understanding when it was our booked time to enter but our toddler fell asleep - they allowed us to come back an hour later. The only thing is, it was finished quicker than I thought. Probably depends on how long you look at each species. We just thought the place was a bit bigger, plus toddler looses attention quickly. Might be better for bigger children :)
We had a two hour tour and it was amazing. The ticket booking process was very easy and the place was not so crowded before noon. Recommend for families during Munchen visit.
Not much to see. It should have more inhabitants. The ticket is for 2 hours, but you finish in 30 minutes. The price is irrationally high.
There is a nice variety of sea life in the museum. Some interactive attractions for kids, although many of them in German only. There is availability of 2 types of tickets- online and purchasing on-site. Maybe this was busy time on Sunday, but the queue was moving very slowly for the ones who wanted to buy tickets on-site. When purchasing on-line ticket watch out carefully the location of SeaLife museum! It does not state the location on the ticket and unfortunately we have made a purchase to a wrong museum in another location in Germany. Which has actually meant that we have arrived to the museum at our reserved time but we were asked to stand in the general queue for an hour to purchase new tickets and get the admission to the museum. There were few more visitors who have also bought wrong tickets same as us. Also staff confirmed this is rather common mistake by the visitors. Museum staff was nice and kind and have asked only for the price difference between the tickets. But standing in the queue for an hour has been extremely tiring experience for us and the kids. Also for the other little visitors, as we could see: most of the time the queue is outside with no shelter from the sunshine or rain. No availability of benches or sitting places for mothers with babies. Even with an online ticket you cannot arrive earlier than your reserved time and still you may be expected to stand in the queue for some 10- 15 min to pass the entrance. The museum is in rather small premises, perhaps this is the way how they manage the visitor’s flow. Despite nice variety of sea life, for the management It is worth considering few small adjustments and making the admission experience more welcoming for the kids and the parents, I think. If you feel ready for the museum, my advice would be definitely buying the on-line ticket and definitely the correct one:)
We were very disappointed. It was supercrowded, we could hardly see the aquariums and it was super noisy. They let way too many people in. Maybe it was so crowded because it was a rainy day. Also we were disappointed about the size of the place. For €24 per person we expected a better experience. We were already at the exit when we felt that it finally got started. On a positive note, we saw some fantastic fish like mudskippers and the short dragon fish. Animal welfare was also well ensured. Staff was friendly and enthusiastic.
We have been to many Sea Life locations and this was is a little smaller than the others. We enjoy aquariums and learning something each one we visit. We knew what to expect and was a stop to break up our day while in the area visiting BMW and the park. It's a nice place for younger kids to visit or a way to escape some heat or rain when in Munich.
Highly recommend! We loved it and enjoyed listening to Klaus's really informative talks. He was very enthusiastic and we learned a lot about sharks. We truly loved it.
DO NOT BUY TICKETS! I bought tickets online for 4.30 and when we arrived we were told it was closed. You could still buy tickets for hours after 4.30. I've emailed asking for a refund and received no response.
Amazing sea life preserved well. Well maintained and educational. Informative and immersive for the kids and adults alike.
This wasn’t top of our list for places to go in Munich, but after three days of rain it turned out to be a brilliant place to visit for the kids. We spent almost two hours here, and the kids were enthralled by the sharks, rays, jellyfish and everything else in all the tanks. There are more than enough rooms and viewpoints to keep them interested, different tanks with different creatures, and even the chance to handle some of the things you find under the water. Some of the rooms towards the start did get a little crowded, but it thins out as you go. You might have to queue outside if it’s busy - the staff were handing out umbrellas while we waited - but they keep the queue moving. Make sure you hunt around for discount leaflets or offers - we got 25% off with our Munich travel card, but I’m sure there are other (possibly better) deals as well, as no-one seemed to be paying full price.
Great fun for kids. Standing in the rain was not fun, but the staff gave us umbrellas. Visitors without a ticket bought in advance (online) had to wait a little bit longer.
tooo expensive for v less animals and crowded also v hot it was worst ever tooo bad and would never come again evrythings in german anyways
Decent enough aquarium, but it's pretty small for what you're paying for. An adult ticket is about 21 euros; you can finish looking through it in about an hour or so. It's mostly fish and a few mini sharks but nothing crazy. Plus, there are a ton of kids which is understandable, but they take up most of the space when they bulldozer through the exhibits since they're small.
Located in the Olympic Park next to the BMW World, only reachable by bike, scooter or feet. Dont be fooled by the similarity of names. Sea Life is not an amusement park like Sea World. There are no shows or coasters. It‘s more like a small aquarium trying to bring sea life closer to the visitors while maintaining a good habitat for the animals. Pretty cool is touching shark eggs at one point. It‘s not a day filling activity, in about 2 hours max you have seen it all. Dont miss the opportunity to sit at the back, when the weather is warm enough staff comes out and brings animals to hold and explain em. Don‘t fall in love with those as they are mostly food for the fishes ;-)
A lot to see, it is very well kept. The only downside is everything is in German, it wasn’t English friendly. Communicating with staff was slightly challenging at times as well.
It’s a beautiful aquarium I really enjoy it a lot very nice I had fun with my son very happy n gift shop was great too bought a lot of memories
We were looking for a rainy day activity and decided to visit Sea Life. We have been to a few aquariums around the world, being in Munich expectations were high. And we were bitterly disappointed as there is not much to see and the ticket price is way to high for what is offered. Not that much to see, in 45 min you are done. Can't really recommend, just disappointing.
Given the laws for the area, my family and I got COVID-19 tests before entry. We bought our tickets ahead of time and had a specific time slot. My husband tested positive even though he was Asymptomatic. Understandably, we went immediately into self isolation and could not go. The aquarium refused to refund our tickets even though we provided proof of a positive test and the test was in the location right outside the aquarium. I definitely do not recommend, as the tickets were expensive and they are very rude and inflexible. I would understand if the cancellation was for another reason but we have no control over testing positive for COVID and not going for everyones safety. Not worth the money if they can’t refund for having COVID.
Not an overly "german" experience, but well done. there is an aquarium room that was worth the price of admission
Great place to spend time with kids. Interesting quest and lots of interesting materials . Been here multiple times already and would like to come again.
Ales perfekt! We like how everything was well organized and presented. It is also recomended for families with kids.
Great rainy day (or any day) activity for younger kids. My 3 year old had a great time naming all the sea animals and watching the sharks and stingrays.
very disapointed ,very small and expensive.not worth the money for what u paid. pls consider if u wanna come here .
I know why many rank Sea Life so low, they just rush to it like in a Zoo. But uis you take your time and talk with the Employers they will inform you about the Animals. So many of them have a Story you will miss by rushing. Its Amazing, the employers make it even better. Thanks Marcel an #Teamtotenkopfäffchen
Too expensive for too little to see. Disappointed 😐 There should be more sharks... The staff though was friendly and there was no croud... 😎
The attraction is smaller indeed than in other countries, e.g. the one in London, but we were still able to find out some new interesting things. For example, both kids and adults enjoyed the live presentation and being able to actually touch different types of egg sharks. We caught also the live feeding of the sharks, however this was a bit disappointing as the presentation was only in german language and could not really follow it obviously. I believe this is something that Management should really consider, especially that there are lots of international tourists. Regarding the admission prices, this is indeed expensive even if you use the Family package they have. You may use the vouchers from cereals, which you can buy from any supermarket.
Unfortunately a very disappointing experience. The employee who sold us the tickets behaved extremely rudely and unprofessionally toward us. His demeanor was inappropriate and we did not feel taken seriously as customers at all. For identification purposes: It was a young, rather stocky employee at the ticket counter. I hope that the employee in question can be identified based on this description and that the behavior is addressed internally accordingly. Overall, unfortunately not a customer-oriented interaction and therefore no recommendation from me.
Facility clean, hallways very narrow, far too little is offered for the high admission price, only a few aquariums.
The Sea Life can be wonderfully combined with a visit to the Olympic Park Munich - educational, interesting (and nicely cool during high outside temperatures), my niece and I liked it very much.
Worth a visit. Well-managed and well-maintained.
Today's activity with Animal Crossing New Horizons was very cool. Best regards, Christian Alexander Sipos
I have to admit, I was actually a bit surprised at how quickly you could get through it, although I haven't been to any Sea Life before and have only been to very large aquariums in other countries. My child (4 years old) thought it was great and impressive, and for that, it was really nice and sufficient. You certainly could have stayed much longer and gone through it again. Of course, the overall price is a bit high, but there are really often discount promotions (2 for 1) on some packaging, and in the future, I will just collect those. Furthermore, one must of course also say that these are animals and they also cost money to maintain, and that is not something that should be skimped on. Our visit was very spontaneous, and despite it being Sunday, it wasn't very busy for us (though it was also 86 degrees). I find one restroom facility at the beginning in the entrance area to be a bit sparse. However, I would really like to highlight the incredibly nice and dedicated staff. EVERYONE was truly in a very good mood, service-oriented, and friendly. Both the gentleman at the ticket counter (who was just as helpful and nice in the souvenir shop when I inquired about a price), as well as a lady in the aquarium who approached us on her own to ask if we wanted to see a sleeping shark, and also the lady at the "touch pool" who explained everything in great detail. That really stood out to me in such a positive way and is not something to be taken for granted these days. Great job! In the souvenir shop, it would be nice if there were more books on the subject, for example. There are quite a lot of stuffed animals. Outside, you can also sit nicely by the Olympic Lake.
We celebrated a children's birthday party "Mermaid Treasure Hunt" with a total of 9 children (ages 7-12). Everything was wonderfully prepared and organized. The room was very lovingly decorated, and there was something interesting for everyone. A special thank you again to our "treasure master" Marion! It was fun - we would book again!
Well organized. Not too many people in the exhibition! Also suitable for children! The exhibition explainers were competent and friendly!!
Visiting the underwater world is basically interesting and attractive. However, the prices are unreasonable. I was traveling with a toddler (2 years) and paid 20 € for the child (additionally as an adult escort another 25 €)! If you know that a child at this age can barely last more than an hour of visits, then the price is disproportionate. It would be advisable to calculate the price according to the length of stay, e.g. 5 € for infant and 10 € for the adult companion for 1 hour. In addition, the ticket office was overwhelmed even with a small queue, where additional vending machines and an electronic entrance gate would have to be set up. Under the conditions found, I do not recommend a visit with small children!
Mega! Highly recommended. Anyone expecting a white shark with a dive in the cage is wrong here. Everyone else can be fascinated.
Absolutely disappointing. Charging 16 euros for a three-year-old child is really a mockery. The value for money is not right here at all. I'm frankly speechless about this rip-off.
We had a nice stay in itself, but found it borderline expensive for what was offered. You'll be through that in a good half hour. But definitely a nice trip.
Great experience, great impressions. Competent advice from the ladies "on site"! Good digital information at the pools. Very informative app!
Our visit was on a rainy fair Monday and was sensational, was super empty and we greatly take advantage of all the spaces and rooms available and enjoys all the interactions. We all especially loved the 5-year-old nephew
In Munich it's the best sea Life I've seen at the beginning it looked like so easy a big aquarium where we walk around under there and with the under the glass but then when I saw that I was quite surprised because that was so nice
A really great Sea-Life! All staff were very nice, the explanations at any time super informative as well as well explained that everyone understands it. The details everywhere are really great done. We already know other Sea-Lifes but this was by far the best of all !
Always worth seeing and instructive for children. It is worth coming before 10 am, from noon it can get quite crowded and tight.
Aquarium that is located in the Olympic park and already this could prompt you to visit it. The aquarium is not very big but there are many varieties of fish, of course it is similar to many others around Europe. If I may give an example, I preferred this to the one seen in Vienna which if I am not mistaken has 6 floors but is less cared for. To shoot it all it doesn't take much, I entered "free" with the museum pass and I don't know if the price of the ticket can be worth it, definitely recommend it if you are in the area and maybe you have children, or maybe you are just big kids like me.
For children today almost a "must". Just great job, very informative and good explanations. To touch for the children was very well received.
It was very great my kids had fun and we took great pictures. It just came so fast in the end It took 30min then we ended up warning the sea life. The good thing is that the Olympic park is right there and you can visit the park.
Me and my ten-year-old son were here on 08 August 2025. We decided spontaneously, without advance booking, to visit and did not regret it. The premises are divided into different geographical zones and the child found it very interesting to learn more about “native” waters such as the Isar and the Danube. All aquariums are very nicely designed. The information about individual fish species is available to exactly the right extent and the employees impart their knowledge about the underwater world in a great way. At the end of our two-hour visit, we learned a lot about sharks and are still excited about them. I would recommend a visit here without restriction.
