Salzburg Sightseeing Day Trip From Munich By Rail

This trip is a must do. Salzburg is spectacular and our guide Jeremy provided great historical and cultural insights throughout the journey.

Our day was wonderful. The guide had great energy, was very knowledgeable and prompt. He took us for a guided tour, told us places we might want to check out and then let us have time to explore which we really appreciated.

Salzburg is a very beautiful n fun place to visit. Sound of Music are everywhere and Mozarts too. Glad to join this tour even for a short trip. See you again and Thank you.

A nice day trip from Munich. Friendly guide and there was plenty of free time to explore the city. Would recommend.

Very average experience. We were asked to be at the assembly point at 8:30 when the train actually doesn’t leave till 10am. Nothign against the guide , she did the job she was given but Salzburg as a day trip from Munich is a waste of time. There’s really not much to see within the few hours that you are there.

The small details offered a wonderful insight into how Salzburg has preserved and renewed its historic architecture. Salzburg captivated with its blend of music, history, architecture and natural beauty. From Mozart's legacy and the charming old squares to the river, elegant gardens and imposing fortress, every corner seemed to reveal another fascinating story. It was a memorable day in a city, Mr. Jeremy with his humour and rich knowledge kept the tour alive and curious to know more.

Great day in Salzburg with Thomas. Train let us down a little so Thomas filled us in with so much history and local knowledge before we even got there. Highly recommend.

Our initial choice with Viator was to take a trip to Eagles Nest, however, it was burned down the day before our travel. We quickly called Viator and they canceled and refunded our money immediately and then we rebooked for Salzburg. Booking completed on the ap and all this took between the call and the booking about 20 min. The office in Munich was easy to find, reception person extremely friendly. It was predicted to rain all day which didn't stop the 18 people who went on this tour. Susan was very knowledgeable, professional, friendly and thorough. Took us through a walking tour of Salzburg first then we had 2.5 hours or so on our own. Our train had a snafu and didn't leave on time but she kept us apprised of what was going on. It was a long day, but despite the weather very enjoyable and it was a pleasure to meet people from other countries on this tour. I'm sure the train ride would have been gorgeous had it been a lovely day but we can't control the weather.

Cristian was knowledgeable and took his time to ensure our group had everything we needed. He made the trip fun even in the rain. I’m so grateful he was our guide.

Great experience!! We had a wonderful time on a rainy day in Salzburg. Cristian made everything easy, even when our train back to Munich was cancelled. Cristian worked his magic and got us back to Munich safely. Highly recommend!

Our guides name was Jeremy. He did an excellent job and was a great person to lead our day trip to Salzburg. He was very knowledgeable about the city and gave us so many options of things we could do. He also recommended some fantastic eateries and Christmas shops.

We enjoyed our day trip from Munich to Salzburg. Our guide Charlie was very informative The transportation to Salzburg was done with no issues we had 1.5 hr with our guide then 3 hrs of free time to wander around the old city The total day was about 10 hrs

Radius tours was easy to find using the directions given on their website. We planned for the full day tour to Salzburg via train Manuela was our guide for the day. She is quite knowledgeable and enjoyed sharing her love of this area. The train trip was smooth, and when we arrived in Salzburg, we were given a walking tour by Manuela and then left on our own to explore even further. I am so grateful that we were able to have such a great day exploring. I would highly recommend this excursion.

A wonderful day exploring the basics of Salzburg with Lucia, our tour guide. She masterfully managed our group from the tour office in Munich, to the train, to the city of Salzburg, providing interesting information and answering questions along the way. It was a wonderful way to get a brief introduction of the city and overall a great way to spend the day. Along with the knowledgeable tour came time on our own to explore the old town and a solid plan to meet and return to Munich.

Very well organized and efficient…you do take a public/city bus and train but our tour guide made it seem less. We had just enough time for lunch, see some interesting sights and walk the old town. Would recommend.

Enjoyed this wonderful experience with Lucia, our tour guide. She was funny, had lots of information and explained everything well. Had a great time and enjoyed walking around Salzburg with my daughter while remembering the Sound of Music.

Our guide Susan was warm, friendly and well informed. She offered great insight into the history of Salzburg, and the walking tour was nicely paced. Plenty of free time to explore was provided with recommendations for dining and shopping.

If you only have one day, this is the tour for you. Elisabeth was a fantastic, energetic and extremely knowledgeable guide. It really takes two full days to get the Salzburg experience. She made this one day visit a memorable one.

Elizabeth is a wonderful tour guide. She explained everything exceptionally well. Due to an unexpected railway accident that caused our return train to be delayed by 4 hours, she handled the situation very professionally by constantly keeping us informed with updates. Throughout the trip, she did headcounts multiple times to make sure no one was left behind. Her enthusiastic working attitude is also well worth mentioning.

Christian was an amazing knowledgeable and thoughtful guide. I would never have been able to find all of the special places for sightseeing for food purchases for eating unless he had guided us to those expert places really worth the money and if you get Christian you’ll be super lucky.

Our guide, Elisabeth, was fantastic, funny, professional, and knowledgeable. Great recommendations about food ( the chocolate especially), places for the best photos, and time management. She really kept her cool with guiding us through the difficulty getting back because of the train incident. Loves the Mozart pig! Thanks Elisabeth for a great day.

Our guide Susan was exceptional! She walked us through the history of all of the locations, went and walked at a reasonable pace, and showed us all of the highlights and explained the history of most of the locations. She was very knowledgeable and personable.

Our tour guide Susanna was awesome! This trip was the right amount of tour/free time. About four hours were dedicated to traveling there and back by train/bus. When we got there, the tour was about 1.5 hrs , and then 3 hrs of the time were spent in the city walking around and having lunch. The train tickets were open ended so if you wanted to spend more time visiting in the town, I’m pretty sure you could do that. Very beautiful day trip. Since you leave Germany, you must bring passports to get back in. The police will do spot checks on the train going back to Germany

Brilliant Salzburg day tour by guide Maxine on Oct 5th. Educational, guide had a lot of energy and we were able to cover all we wanted. Highly recommended!

Great guide, very attentive and knowledgeable. Just wish we had more time in Salzburg otherwise every thing was wonderful. Marcus was the best !

It was very well put together and we clocked that we walked 9 miles, so we definitely earned our meal at the restaurant recommended by our guide.

Don’t miss the fortress. The views are amazing and the grounds are interesting. It’s great to have time to explore the city on your own and enjoy lunch without feeling rushed.
