Stop At: Nordlingen Located in the midst of a meteorite crater, the former imperial city of Noerdlingen boasts a fully walkable circular city wall.
The 90-meter high church tower "Daniel" was formerly used as a watchtower.
We stop right in the historic city center, so you have the opportunity to take great photos of this medieval town and/or enjoy a coffee overlooking the market square and the church.
Stop At: Pestsaeule The Plague-Pillar ("Pestsäule") of is an unexpected little jewel along the way, this brilliant Baroque masterpiece after Viennese model is located in a nice village between Nördlingen and Dinkelsbühl.
Stop At: Dinkelsbuhl Dinkelsbuehl could be called the "little sister" of Rothenburg - just as romantic but not so crowded. On a 30-minute city tour, your guide will show you medieval gems such as the Gothic St. George's Church, the imposing armoury, impressive half-timbered houses where emperors have already stayed, and a mysterious "modern" dinosaur. Afterwards you are welcome to explore the city on your own. If you already feel hungry, you could enjoy lunch here in one of the cozy and inexpensive Franconian restaurants.
Stop At: Rothenburg Ob Der Tauber Duration:

We drive through the impressive historic 'Spital-gate', pass the southern part of the old town and park the car near the centrally located market square.
Enjoy together with your guide on an approx. 40-minute walking tour, leading you to all the overwhelming sights, including:
• the impressive Town hall (15th-17th century)
• the 'Meistertrunk-clock'
• the Saint James church (small entrance fee) with its noteworthy wood-carved 'Holy blood' altar (early 16th century) - a masterpiece of woodcarving by Tilman Riemenschneider

Karl was our private driver for the marvelous day from Munich to Rothenburg via the Romantic Road. We started with a private tour of Marburg Castle. Then we continued on through several towns along the Romantic Road and walked through some of them before spending a few hours in Rothenburg. We returned via the autobahn. It was a great day. Karl gave us so much information about the area and was accommodating with our stops along the way.

Our family of four absolutely loved our day with Karl. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible while still keeping us on schedule without feeling rushed at all. He made great suggestions for lunch/food, shopping, and activities for free time in Rothenburg, and he seemed to really enjoy showing us around in general. We finished the tour having a much deeper understanding of the Bavarian area especially with the Nuremberg add on. The day went by so quickly. I highly recommend this tour.

Our guide, Karl, was patient and kind. We opted to add on the Harberg Castle tour and Nuremberg which made for an extremely long day and probably decreased the time we spent in the towns. I highly recommend the Harberg Castle tour. It was definitely a highlight. Read up on the history of the towns before you go, so you have good context.

He went above and beyond in every aspect and he managed to keep everyone’s interest. We were a group of 6 ranging in ages from 14-47 and everyone enjoyed thoroughly ! He explained everything and even took us to local places to try different foods. Karl made this entire experience for us and we cannot recommend and praise him enough. Thank you thank you thank you for everything Karl from the sites, to the singalong in the car to the information you shared with us and the lifetime of memories. We are forever grateful! Highly recommend!
Being claustrophobic and also unable to do higher elevations, the tour operator gladly communicated with me multiple times to answer my questions. On the day of the trip, Karl showed up on time with a large vehicle to help me and rain gear in case we needed it. Throughout the day, Karl provided information about each of our four or five locations. He also gave us time to take pictures without feeling rushed. He made sure the temperature in the vehicle was suitable for us and gave us lunch recommendations. We would definitely recommend this private tour.

Karl was extremely knowledgeable about each medevil city that we visited. I would highly recommend this tour if you’re visiting Munich.

This is a tour I would gladly do again. Maria was our guide for the day and is very good at what she does. She picked us up at our hotel and was even early and waited patiently for some of our party. We got to see all of the places we had planned on our itinerary, and Maria added a lot of insight. She even recommended some of the places we might want to see on our other tours that we had planned. This was a tour that our party of 8 will remember for years to come. I will be planning on taking more tours with Maria and Sightseeing Bavaria Exclusive in the years to come. I can't wait to get back.

Karl, our guide, was very informative and attentive throughout our tour. He made our day of traveling through Bavaria delightful with his stories and knowledge of the area. We loved touring Harburg Castle, visiting Nördlingen and trying local cherries from the Farmers market that was happening (Thanks to Karl for the treat...our daughters especially enjoyed them), seeing a bit of Dinkelsbühl buying some chocolates to take home and enjoying their beautiful houses and nesting Storks, and then having lunch in Rothenburg de Tauber...the finale, where we walked the city, visited their churches, tried the Gelato and snow balls, and finished with a walk along the wall that surrounds the city still today. Definitely recommend the tour if you want a bit of everything along the Romantische Straße (Romantic Road).

We truly enjoyed not only the safe drive through the beautiful countryside but the walled towns with our private tour with Stephan who is very knowledgeable of the history. The quaintness of the walled towns were a great experience with friendly shop owners. This is a great tour I only wish we had more time to shop! We recommend this tour especially either in a small group or private allowing you the personal experience listening and viewing everything this beautiful area offers!

Thomas was our guide and driver, he was very nice and his English was great.
He informed us that this was only his second time taking this trip and it did show because he took a couple wrong turns. What he didn’t know he made a big effort to ask the locals for information. He took us to one of his favorite restaurants and it was great. A family member had an accident on the trip and he called a doctor friend to get his advice about her care. Thomas was great and offered us to call if we needed anything else, good person

He stopped at a timber yard and bought a block of timber to use as a step. Will not forget Karl. Highly recommend this tour. Scenery was incredible.

This tour was a very worthwhile way to see Rothenburg and Dinkelsbuhl if you don’t have time to stay in Rothenburg for a night or two. Our guide Armin was very friendly and entertaining. Sightseeing Bavaria were also very flexible in rescheduling our tour while we were in Munich after our original tour date had to move due to bad weather. I will certainly look at booking tours with Sightseeing Bavaria again in future.

Stefan is the professor of German History that I needed before the tour so that I could answer his questions. Ha Ha. Stefan did a wonderful job and has a world of historical knowledge that is mindboggling. I now know that Rothenburg is RED CASTLE and that the Bavarian Flag is WHITE and BLUE.
