This was an amazing private tour: we learned about the history of Salzburg and got taste some of their traditional foods and beers. Our guide Annabell was fabulous and I highly recommend this tour with her!
Gabi was a wonderful host and guide. Her knowledge and love of architecture are apparent. The food was delicious. Large portions at lunch. Note: most retail and many restaurants are closed on Sunday. If you want to experience the city at its fullest, perhaps plan a day other than Sunday.
Annabelle delivered a delicious food tour of some of Salzburg’s best food and drink. She took to local eateries and told us all about the city. Her instructions helped us enjoy our free time before a relaxing train ride back to Munich.
I purchased the Fork and Walk tour with train ticket add-on. My trip was originally scheduled for 9:30 but I was asked if we could accommodate moving our tour up to 8:55 departure time which we agreed. An email advised I would receive our train tickets via email. Payment was applied to my card on Saturday March 22. I never received an email with tickets. Phone number temporarily unavailable, office not open over weekend and opens at 9 am Monday after the confirmed departure time of 8:55. I spoke to Viator and discussed if I miss that early train then tour guide will think I missed tour and I will be out more. Bought a 2nd ticket to fulfill the trip time. We had a lively time with Annabelle. Being able to enjoy Austrian foods and learning about life in Salzburg through her eyes was so delightful. Working with tour operator after spoiled the experience since they denied offering any refund for ticket portion. I asked for a copy of supposed email they sent to me bearing the date and email they sent to me. They ignored that request and are silent. Poor customer relations and unfair treatment. Having no weekend emergency contact that can resolve issues leaves customers having to solve conflicts on their own. Be careful of Fork and Walk.
Annabelle Is the ultimate Tour Guide that I’ve ever experienced. I’ve traveled the world and used many tour companies and guides. Her extraordinary knowledge of Salzburg and secret hidden gems had my group wowed! At the many venues of food delights, she chose varieties of Austrian delicacies that everyone left smiling. Annabelle‘s ability to become “one of us” made us feel that we had known her for years! Totally awesome experience for all. Annabelle Rocks! Charles
While the weather wasn't great (it was rainy and cloudy all day in Salzburg) we really enjoyed our day with Annabelle. She met us at the train station after our roughly 1:45 train trip from Munch (which was a fun part of the trip too---love seeing the German and Austrian countryside---so pretty). Loved our day in Salzburg!
This is an amazing tour. Annabelle provided not only awesome food but a wonderful history tour of the city. Don’t miss this opportunity.
Annabelle was an incredible host! We felt like we were shown the city by a dear friend. Lunch was delicious and we enjoyed seeing the highlights of the city.
My wife and I loved our tour of Salzburg with Annabelle!! She was extremely knowledgeable and really showed off her home town. She answered all of our questions. The food was incredible!! Between the lunch and the special treats throughout the tour, we loved it all.
This was a great way to see Salzburg in a day! Annabelle was a fantastic guide and the food was incredible! Come hungry! I would highly recommend this tour!
Annabelle was amazing! She tailored our experience to our interests and palates, and made sure we tried special and unique foods of Salzburg. It was one of the most fun excursions we’ve ever been on as there’s no better way to appreciate a culture than through its cuisine. Book this trip—and arrive hungry!
This was an amazing trip. We have been to Munich before and decided to add a little day trip to our weekend. Salzburg was perfect. Annabelle gave us a tour of the city including history, cool points, little insider tips and, of course, delicious foods. You can somewhat tailor the food choices to your preference. It was nice that my husband could continue to sample beer and I could sample the wine!! Would highly recommend, if you are considering it, just go ahead and do it!
Annabelle brought us to the best food, orientated us properly, gave us history, background and so many options and infused it all with such a love of Salzburg we are going to come back again!
Our guide for the tour was Annabelle and she was great. She was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the city and its history. We went the week before Christmas so the festive markets were in full swing, and I couldn't think of a better time to have gone. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. Fantastic experience!
Salzburg is truly a magical city and under the loving guidance of our guide we got to have a wonderful and delicious experience! We will definitively be back for those yummy Nockerl! (Still cannot pronounce it though ;) )
Annabelle was the sweetest tour guide we could have asked for. It was the best combination of amazing food, fascinating history, and scenic sights around Salzburg. Definitely recommend if you love food and are considering a day trip from Munich to Salzburg.
No show guide! Waited an hour at track 11/Starbucks. Nothing. Attempting to retrieve our $$$. Busted day, beware!
We had a great day with Tanja. The weather was cold and rainy but we still had fun and hit all the sites and enjoyed the food. Tanja was knowledgeable regarding the history and food of Salzburg and was also flexible based on our food preferences. Highly recommend the tour!
Annabelle was awesome!! The weather was rainy and cold but we made the best of it and had a wonderful time. The meal and desserts were wonderful! Definitely recommend! We captured great pictures and learned a lot about of Austrian history and culture. 🤗
Beautiful trip out to this lovely part of the world with Fork & Walk Tours. I had already taken a food tour with them in Berlin and was over the moon. This was pretty much a private tour as the maximum number of guests is 8 and there were only 6 on our tour. We kindly met at Munich main train station an escorted safely onto the train where we met our lovely guide Annabelle on the other end at the platform. From there we strolled around Salzburg eating fantastic local Austrian cuisine and divine sweets and cakes. Plus there were a few spots with incredible views where we could savour a local beer or two. It depends on your time in the area of Germany, but if you have an extra day, we would highly recommend going out with Fork & Walk to Salzburg and getting a true insiders taste and history of the city.
This tour is a wonderful way to get a taste of Salzburg and it’s culinary highlights. A very tasty treat indeed. Annabelle, the delightful tour guide in Salzburg, has a vast knowledge of the city and its history … experiencing the delectable Schnitzel, Nockerl, Sacher Torte and Steigl beer in their native environment is such a treat. Highly recommended for not just ‘foodies’, but anyone with an interest in seeing one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
We booked this tour as a work outing. One of the best Outings we had! Steve was an exceptional guide. Highly recommended for companys who haven't been to salzburg, or who want to discover more about this beautiful city. Five stars all the way!
Such a fun way to discover Salzburg and its culinary delights! Our guide Annabelle was fantastic and really made the experience feel special. It was easy to find her at the train station because she had a board with my name on it. Here's a quick tip if you do this tour... if you try the Salzburger Nockerl desert, go easy as it is seriously heavy! This is definitely the way to see Salzburg. Highly recommended!
Me and my husband love trying out the local cuisine, so we decided to take this day trip to Salzburg and taste some of the local dishes. We loved the selection of restaurants and cafe, they have a traditional and lovely atmosphere. We enjoyed tasting savory dishes, drinks and also the sweet treats! My husband has a sweet tooth so the Salzburger Nockerl was right up his alley! The walk through Salzburg is wonderful, our guide Annabelle was amazing introducing us to the city and its history. Taking the train from Munich was very easy, having been met by Iain there and then in Salzburg at the platform by Annabelle, we didn't have to worry about getting lost. Coming back to Munich was simple too, Annabelle gave us directions to the train station, however since we had some time we decided to stay a few hours longer and enjoy Salzburg's atmosphere. We only had time for this one day taster of Salzburg, but will definitely return! Fork & walks tours organised this tour perfectly, thank you so much for the great experience!
The most amazing tour guide Annabelle, a wealth of history along with beer, wine and food. You could not ask for a better tour and we throughly enjoyed hearing about life in Salzburg from a local. These tours would also be excellent for older children as well. Thank you!!
I had a great day on my tour to Salzburg. I wasn’t sure if this tour would be worth the money but it definitely was. Salzburg is a magical little city! Katrina from Fork and Walk tours was so fun and really made an effort for my husband and I to have a nice day. She helped us to buy a lock for the bridge and we made a special memory putting it on the bridge. Also the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend this tour!
We had a great day with Katrina in Salzburg. All of the tastings were delicious, the scenery was breathtaking and we got to wander pretty much wherever our hearts desired! If you love cake and you love beautiful towns...this is your trip. The individualized attention and small group tour will not disappoint.
