Private Day Trip Munich To Harburg, Dinkelsbuhl & Rothenburg

For the cost of this trip, you would expect a luxury sedan with leather interior and plenty of leg room...but it's just a basic but clean minivan with not much leg room or comfort. Our driver was good... he was safe, courteous and knowledgeable. He was right about harburg...don't really need to stop there. But the towns of Dinklesbuhl and Rothenburg were excellent!! Just like you imagine and hope to see! Would recommend.

We thought this service was excellent... more flexibility to manage your timing, without the rush rush rush to get back to the bus. Our driver was fantastic, really friendly and the car was new, clean and we felt very safe. Because of the Xmas timing the castle at Harburg was closed for the winter (which we knew prior to going thanks to the advice from the tour operator to check availability), but the gates where open and we were still able to have a good look around as well. Dinkelsbuhl and Rothenburg were amazing - definitely worth the trip.

What an incredible day! Our English speaking driver Martin was fabulous!! While it was a very long day, each of the 3 stops--in perfect order, led to each one being better than the next. The tour of the Castle was, although the guide was not in English it was still worth seeing and thankfully our timing was perfect as the tour is on the hours. Dinkelbuhl was charming and the perfect location to enjoy lunch. The final stop, Rothenburg, was magnificent! You must see the Christmas shop! VIATOR is A++

If you only have a day from Munich to see a couple of the top sites on the Romantic Road, this is a good option. It’s a long drive through picturesque farm country, but Martin was an excellent driver; the car was clean, quiet and comfortable for two; and his English was fine. He’s not a tour guide, but he directs you to the local tourism office for all the info you need. (He’s also happy to discuss anything NBA.) I suggest the route we took: Dinkelsbuehl first, Rothenburg second, and Harburg as a last option if you have the stamina (we could have skipped it).

Tomas was fabulous! He arrived early and was very accommodating in our trip. We loved the private tour as it was easy and we had time to do or see whatever we wanted . Tomas was very knowledgeable and pleasant about everyplace we stopped! Would love to book him again when we return 😊

Great trip overall, Rothenburg is a must place to visit whilst visiting Munich. The trip was perfect and recommended to everyone.

Tomas was amazing! It was a lovely day trip to the three stops where he allowed us both free time and time with him getting ourselves oriented. We never felt rushed and always safe with him on the long-ish car rides. Be ready for the 2.5 hour trip back to Munich, but he made it very pleasant and comfortable. I think he went above and beyond to make our journey memorable and educational. I would recommend for couples or families with older children.

My family and I booked a private day trip from Munich To Harburg, Dinkelsbuhl & Rothenburg and had the most amazing time. Our driver, Tomas, was absolutely fantastic! He was punctual, a safe driver, and very knowledgeable. He showed us around the towns we visited and provided lots of interesting facts. This day trip was definitely a highlight of our trip to Germany and I would highly recommended this trip to everyone!

The castle in Harburg was closed,which was disappointing, but then we arrrived earlier and had more time in the other stops . Christmas market in Dinkelsbuhl didn't open until one so we missed it. The Christmas market in Rothenburg was fun. We didn't see many sights because the weather was cold and rainy. Our driver, Yury, was pleasant and efficient. Nice comfortable, van for our group of 6.

Shpendi was amazing! He went above and beyond to help us have the best day possible. My father is disabled and he helped him with his walker and helped us find places that were accessible to him. He even made lunch reservations for us. Although he was just supposed to be a driver, he walked with us around town and showed us some of the important sights. He really was great! Ask for Shpendi if you are taking a drive to Rothenberg!!

I highly recommend the private day trip. Our driver was wonderful. He was so patient and gave us wonderful advice as what to see and recommendations to budget our time to make sure we saw what we wanted to. He has a lot of knowledge and experience which he shared with us. Will definitely tour again next year and ask for him.

The tour was not as advertised. Apparently Viator confirmed the tour and took my 1000 euros before checking with the tour provider if anyone guides were available. According to the Tour provider, Europe yours, all 10 of their experienced guides were booked. So, they found a person with a car at 2 am in the morning and hired him to drive us. He had never been to the places before and could not tell us anything about them. All he said when we asked him a question was “I don’t know”. While I did not expect a guide, the description and reviews said that they would share some information. The car was a Toyota and we were cramped in the back seat with little leg room. Neither my partner nor I could understand some of the guides instructions about when we were returning to Munich. We did contact Viator support and they were unhelpful and kept disconnecting the chat. I don’t think Viator should have confirmed the tour until they checked with the tour provider that an experienced guide was indeed available.

This was the greatest tour of a lifetime. Nicolay was our private guide and absolutely exceptional. He was personal he was caring and thoughtful and very knowledgeable about each town we visited. I truly felt blessed that we were able to get him and do that tour as it was the greatest part of our trip. I can’t say enough great things about his customer service and our experience. Highly recommended.

Our driver Tomas was both punctual and professional. He took care to make sure we felt free to roam each town as long as we wished. When we had rain he even brought us the umbrellas we had borrowed from the hotel so we didn’t get wet walking to the car. He was a safe driver and the vehicle was clean and comfortable. We had Tomas as our driver for the day. He was an excellent and safe driver. The tour schedule was broken up by 3 stops. We could have easily eliminated the Harburg Castle stop and spent more time at the other 2 locations, especially in Rothenburg which was our favorite spot.

The visit to Harburg Castle, Dinkelsbuhle and Rothenburg. The driver was attentive but had little knowledge of the history of these places. In the castle there was a guided visit every hour but only in German. However the castle on its outside was quite interesting. The other two cities were very beautiful with the wonderful Dinkelsbuhle Cathedral.

Charming tour, Harburg and Dinklsbuhl, were a pleasant surprise, small and beautiful towns, beautiful landscapes, good food, I highly recommend it. Our driver was very attentive and helpful.
