We had an absolute blast on the Premium Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof VIP Tour from Munich! Deyse and Vlady are a hilarious duo who made the entire day smooth, engaging, and unforgettable. Deyse was super sweet and knowledgeable, and Vlady's driving was top-tier-smooth and professional all day long. The bus was extremely comfortable and fully stocked with a fantastic variety of snacks and drink options. Ending the trip with a surprise beer was such a fun, thoughtful touch! The castles were breathtaking to see in person. This tour is worth every single penny and more— highly recommend to anyone visiting Munich!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this tour! In fact, my aunt called it the highlight of our two-week European vacation through Budapest, Vienna, Salzburg, and Munich. That says a lot considering all the wonderful places we visited! Our tour guide, Daisy, and our fantastic bus driver/barista went above and beyond to make the experience memorable. Their professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail made the entire day truly special. The bus was spacious and extremely comfortable, and the excellent snacks and drinks were a lovely touch that made the journey even more enjoyable. Everything was thoughtfully organized, allowing us to relax and fully enjoy the experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. Highly recommended, and a big thank-you to Daisy and the entire team for making this such a wonderful memory for our family!
Our guide Monica was excellent. We left Munich and headed first to Linderhof Palace, which was beautiful. From there, a brief rip to Oberammergau -- a waste of time since it was a Sunday and most everything was closed. After that, we headed to Neuschwanstein Castle. It rained most of the day but Monica kept everything interesting. Would have liked to have more time, but that's a problem inherent in tours and is no reflection on Monica's wonderful tour -- and the driver (Vladdy?) was great too.
We had an absolutely wonderful experience on the Neuschwanstein & Linderhof Small Group Tour on Sunday, November 1st! A very special thank you to Hanae and Vladi, who were incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating. Due to unexpected circumstances, we had missed our original tour because my father was feeling unwell, but thanks to their kindness and assistance, we were able to join the tour the following day. I would also like to give a heartfelt thank you to the lovely gentleman who was at the meeting point that morning. Unfortunately, I didn't get his name, but he went above and beyond to help us, and we are truly grateful for everything he did! The tour itself was absolutely fantastic, and we enjoyed every moment of it. What made the experience even more special was the kindness, professionalism, and understanding of the people working there. Thank you so, so much to everyone involved! ❤️ You turned a stressful situation into a beautiful and unforgettable memory for our family. I highly recommend this tour and this wonderful team to anyone visiting Munich! ⭐❤️
This was one of the best Viator excursion I’ve experienced in the many years of travel. Ursula was a perfect host with her knowledge, descriptions, stories, follow through. The driver was exceptional and the castles were mind blowing. The premium tour is well worth its price. Thank you for the most magical day!
High quality guide, driver and Bus. Tour was on time and well done. Highly recommend as a way to get the castle experience in a day.
I would highly recommend this tour. What a fantastic day! The weather was perfect, everything was well organised, and we had plenty of time to explore each place we visited without feeling rushed. Felicia was an awesome tour guide — so lovely, friendly and full of knowledge. She shared so many interesting insights and stories about the places we visited, which made the experience even more enjoyable. There were also plenty of snacks provided on the bus, and the seats were comfortable, with Wi-Fi and charging stations available. Overall, a wonderful experience from start to finish. Highly recommended! ⭐
Most definitely a premium experience on a first class coach. Very comfortable seats and refreshments on board including coffee are excellent. Our tour guide Felicia was topnotch and not only did she make sure of our safety and made certain a long day ran smoothly but importantly of course was very knowledgeable and informative. Castle and Palace demonstrated Ludvig 11 history and involvement with Wagner. Oberamergau very attractive. The drives through Bavarian countryside especially at the end of October with the autumnal colours were very attractive. Overall a must and at reasonable cost including all site tickets
An excellent day out, including a short time in Oberammergau. The interior of Linderhof is jaw dropping in the overall excess on display, and gives an insight into the mind and character of King Ludwig. First rate guide in Felicia, a v comfortable coach with snacks & drinks on board, and v well organized. It’s a long day, but very rewarding.
Wonderful experience. Bus ride smooth. They have snacks like coffee and water and fruit on board. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Was a super long day we went in end of October and was a bit chilly but well worth it! 10 out of 10 no notes needed
While we thoroughly enjoyed our visits to Linderhof and Neuschwanstein, each tour was only 30 minutes inside. The trip was 11 hours long, which is unavoidable. There was also a short stop in Oberammergau, which broke up the time on the bus. The main drawback was all the travel time.
Booked this trip for my sister’s birthday, thought we’d go for the VIP trip during our visit to Munich. So glad we did, drinks and snacks included, lots of legroom and comfy travel. Guide very knowledgeable, palace and castle both great to visit and all in all a super day out. Would absolutely recommend!
Excellent tour. Our tour guide Felicia was great. Giving us information and always telling us when to meet the bus. The castles had a lot to stairs to climb and you couldn't take any photos inside but everything else was great. The bus had a bathroom and there were plenty of snacks on the bus along with a beer at the end of the tour for the ride back.
Our tour guide Deyse and our driver Vladi were both welcoming and informative. I learned a lot from Deyse’s narration so I knew something about what we were going to be seeing at each stop. The bus snacks were delicious and the seats were very comfortable. Thank you for making a memorable visit to the Bavarian castles!
Absolute luxury! Amazing tour, the driver and guide were the best. Bring your umbrella and walking shoes.
Travel by bus to three locations with a tour guide who presented a lot of information at each attraction.
Our tour guide was knowledgeable and made sure everyone had a good time. The snacks on the bus were also a welcome treat.
So first off, understand that the German government provides the tour guides and controls the tours of Castle Neuschwanstein and Linderhof Palace. This is not the tour company's fault and there is nothing they can do about it. That being said, this tour is VERY worth it! From the small group, to the VIP bus with plenty of snacks, water and coffee, and a bathroom, to the amazing tour guide Faizan and driver (sorry I forgot his name) providing a lot of extra information and guidance along the way, this was a wonderful day. Faizan helped navigate the group through the crowded nightmare of getting to Castle Neuschwanstein (IYKYK), set us up to have a wonderful lunch, showed us important and beautiful sights between tours, and did an outstanding job overall providing relevant information and answering questions. Our driver (apologies again) masterfully navigated the small roads with the bus and provided a smooth and easy trip. This tour is highly recommended if you want to get the most out of visiting Castle Neuschwanstein and Palace Linderhof.
Very well organized and efficient trip. Good narrative from the tour guide and safe driving. Beautiful scenery and castles…if it’s on your bucket list, just do it!
Absolutely worth spending a few extra dollars for the VIP tour. Everything was perfectly smooth. Tour was timed well in order to see as much as possible at each stop. Neuschwanstein Castle is a must see! Smiley, our driver, was awesome - he had a little surprise for us before our return to Munich. Hanae, our tour guide, handled things perfectly. My only suggestion is for Viator. As the tours are done by a tour company (not Viator) it would be extremely helpful to advise what tour company we are looking for at the meeting place.
Ursula, out tour guide was amazing . Her information was very useful in understanding the history surrounding the tour. Only advisement I would have is to let you know ahead of time approximately how many Euros to have on hand. The shuttle and restaurants at the castle only take Euros and do not accept card
The Premium Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof VIP Tour from Munich was fantastic! Our guide explained the sites and history in great detail and our driver was very professional, thoroughly recommended
Had a lovely time on the tour -- our guide, Hanae, was so sweet and paid attention to each member of the small group. It's nice to have a very small group, especially in places like this--Neuschwanstein and its surroundings are so touristy and tightly controlled, so it can be helpful to have someone looking out for you and directing you through the various steps. Our driver, Jordan, was excellent as well, even coming to help passengers with various features of the bus. It's a very long day, but if anything we could have used a little bit more time between setting off from Munich and our appointment at Neuschwanstein castle, just to make sure everyone can catch the shuttle bus up to the castle.
This was an incredible experience from start to finish! The extra space on the bus made a huge difference on such a long day, and having a restroom on board was a great added convenience. Both the driver and tour guide were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Everything was well-organized and ran smoothly, ensuring we stayed on schedule without ever feeling rushed. The castles themselves were absolutely breathtaking, and the entire tour was a wonderful way to experience the beauty and history of Germany. I would highly recommend this tour!
I booked a VIP ticket because during the booking I didn't mind the price as I wanted comfort and guaranteed fast entry tickets to see all the attractions. I didn't care for the free coffee or snacks, as I knew it would be bare minimum (which it was) - some fruits, nuts, chocolate, and pretzels. The problem I had was the lack of clarity in this booking -- had I known this, I would've booked the regular non VIP tickets OR just dot his on my own. In any case, this VIP ticket is WAY overpriced and totally not worth it. 1. Your "guide" does not give you a tour inside the castle or palace. Annette was my guide, and while she was nice, she felt more like a chaperone, to ensure people end up in the correct destination and show up on time for the bus. She did not go inside any attractions with us, and she barely said any additional information about the attraction sites, the history, etc. She was the first guide I've ever had with a price of this ticket where they barely spoke during the route to the destination. At the actual destination, she also gave unclear meeting times and points. For example she would say "go here, go down, to the right and keep going. Meet at quarter to two" instead of "go past street XYZ, make a right at the gift shop, then see the sign for ABC. Meet at 1:45PM". For non-native English speakers (we had some foreigners who were not from USA/UK/Australia and other English dominant countries) and this verbiage was confusing for them 2. The castle and palace entry tickets are not "premium". I actually think they are at discounted price, because your guide will buy the number of tickets based on your group size, and for the time you arrive at the palace. The ticket itself actually says "for groups 10-15 people or more" and it was 20 euros for the Neuschwanstein Castle with English tour guide who was assigned randomly from the Castle and 10 euros for the Linderhof palace with English tour guide also assigned randomly. Depending on the guide, it was REALLY simple and basic, and the same service for a regular ticket price with tour guide. This "VIP" is not VIP and there is no difference from getting the regular tour or going on your own. I actually think that the audioguide (sometimes cheaper than in-person guides) will explain more, because our English guide for the castle was really really simple. She just zoomed through and barely explained anything. Caveat is that there was also not much to see. She did not take any questions as well. Anyway, the entrance ticket prices ended up being 30 euros total, both with in person guides. So you can compare and do the math 3. To see the famous cave (Venus Grotto), you need a separate ticket AND even if you have a ticket, this tour will NOT take you there as you have NO time. This was not clearly mentioned in the booking and via email, and I was sad I went all the way to Linderhof and couldn't even see Venus Grotto. You get about 30-40min at Linderhof, including your tour of the palace. There is not enough time spent at Linderhof 4. This tour does NOT stop at the other castles near Neuschwanstein Castle even though it is RIGHT there. You have way too much time at Neuschwanstein (4 hrs) and after the tour, there's nothing else to see. They should've clearly mentioned in the booking that the other castles are NOT included (as i said, you get basic 20 euro ticket to Neuschwanstein) and even if you have the time, you cannot go on your own to these other castles. I really got ripped off wwith this. 5. The Oberammagau (small town) is not worth it at all. This town is famous for the Passion Play, but you don't get to see the play. You only get to see a few streets and the old town. The stop here is actually longer than Linderhof (i don't know why, because there's nothing here), but this should've been skipped to allow more time at Linderhof Palace. Annette was also supposed to show us the small little interesting buildings as the driver drove past, but she was really bad at explaining on time and pointing out WHERE to see, and the driver also just drove right past through. This was also another place where Annette was not good at giving instructions and people got lost on the serpentile roads. Word for word she said "you can't get lost, there is only one main road for shopping, and you can go to THAT shop with the umbrella for cheaper price" but did not name any names of the shop. When we departed from the bus station, i couldn't find the shop as the bus turned, and while there was one mainish looking street for shopping, there is another big street for cars and another street for hotel. I couldn't tell which one she was talking about. Waste of everyone's time 6. If you booked any tours in any other language than English, even if you confirmed with your tour company that you want xyz language, your bus tour guide will only buy grouped tickets, so it will all be in English. So, ask your tour guide BEFORE she buys the entrance ticket if you can get a different language tour guide. She may tell you this is not possible. If that's the case, your only option is the English tour guide. This was not explicitly written, and people in our group spent $200+ USD per person to not understand the tours lol 7. As i mentioned before, this is NOT VIP service or experience at all. Save the trouble and book a regular ticket if you want the coach bus convenience of seeing multiple things in one day, or if you want to truly see each site and spend the time, book your own. I am glad i was a solo traveler and did not have to spend more money than I already did. This company is called Gray Line Munich Tours and I would not recommend the "Premium VIP Tour" to ANYONE.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Courtney with DayTrips made our visit to Neuschwanstein Castle unforgettable! Exploring such a beautiful place was already exciting, but having Courtney guide us made the experience even more special. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide and would happily book another tour with Courtney. Thank you for a wonderful day and memories we’ll always treasure. Highly recommend!
This was a great day spent touring a few of the more "modern" castles of Germany. Our guide, Annette, and driver, Zinat, were friendly and informative. I like Annette's personal childhood stories and how they relate to Germany today. Everything was well planned and explained to us before each stop. The only negative on this trip was the bus ride between the ticket booth and the bridge at Neuschwanstein Castle...the bus was full but then they squeezed our group of 26+ people on. We were literally standing face-to-face and back-to-back for the short ride up the hill. (They could have told us to wait for the next bus and everyone would have had a much more enjoyable ride!) The weather was beautiful, so we got lots of great pictures, both at Neuschwanstein and Linderhof. You are not allowed to take photos inside either castle, but still lots of opportunities of the exterior and the gardens. The guided tours inside each castle were very informative. We learned a lot about German history and royalty!
Annette (our guide) and Vladi (our driver) made us feel welcomed and provided us with a day away that could only be called perfect. The scenery and experience were both breathtaking; made special by your team. Only issue all day was the mis-communication by the company on exactly where we needed to meet our tour.
Great bus and castles are spectacular! Highly recommend the trip!))) lots of steps and walking, be aware.
Great tour and did not feel rushed. Beautiful castle and excellent recommendations from the tour guide.
Fabulous day. Highly recommend. Our tour guide Felicia was terrific, our bus driver Vladi great. The bus was very comfortable and clean and had capacity for 22 people. Snacks, coffee onboard A1 and much appreciated. Toilet very clean.
The tour buses/groups were easy to find and the bus was very comfortable. Our driver and tour guide were very knowledgeable and friendly. The 10 hours went by quickly and the countryside was beautiful. We had the best time !
A very full day of beauty, history, and culture. Highly recommend! it’s not actually a “small group.” About 40 people. But smaller than some other bus tours. Very nice snacks and coffee on the bus as we travelled. Ursala, our guide was great!
Our tour to Neuschwanstein Castle was an unforgettable experience, and Deisy was a huge part of what made it so extraordinary! From the moment our journey began, she captivated the entire group with her perfect blend of humor, wit, fascinating historical knowledge, and effortless storytelling. Even on the long bus ride, there was never a dull moment. Deisy has that rare gift of making hours on the road fly by, keeping everyone laughing, learning, and thoroughly entertained from beginning to end. Her knowledge of the castle, its history, and the fascinating stories behind it brought everything to life. She has a wonderful way of weaving together historical facts, amusing anecdotes, and clever humor that makes you want to hear more. She was engaging without being overbearing, informative without ever being boring, and genuinely funny in a way that felt completely natural. Keeping an entire bus full of people entertained for that long is no small feat, but Deisy made it look effortless! Deisy didn’t just take us to Neuschwanstein Castle; she made the entire journey part of the adventure. A destination as magical as this deserves a guide who can match its charm, and Deisy absolutely delivered. Her personality, professionalism, and passion for what she does transformed a wonderful excursion into a truly memorable experience. If you’re considering this tour, do yourself a favor and book it—and hope you’re lucky enough to have Deisy as your guide! She is a genuine asset to the tour, and we would recommend her without the slightest hesitation. We would happily travel with her again, and we have no doubt she will leave every group with wonderful memories, a few extra laughs, and a much deeper appreciation for this incredible part of Bavaria. Five stars for the castle, ten stars for Deisy! She is the kind of guide who reminds you that sometimes the person telling the story becomes just as memorable as the place itself.
Outstanding tour. Beatrix and our bus driver were fantastic. Fun, informative and helpful. They really took care of us.
Wonderful day. Enjoyed the walk up to Neuschwannstein and loved pretty Oberammergau. Informative guide and well catered for.
Deyse and our driver were amazing. We had a rainy day and they both made it extremely pleasant, well organized and on time for all our tours. Just enough sightseeing and stops to make the most of a big day!
The tour itself was outstanding. Our tour guide Deyse and driver Vladi were superb! They made sure we were always on time, instructions were clear and you could tell they truly enjoyed their job. The only flaw in the tour, actually had nothing to do with the tour itself. The booking company provided the incorrect meeting place, which did not go over well with me.
ARRIVE EARLIER THAN RECOMMENDED! Seats fill up fast. Refreshments are only made available to the early birds. Also, the tour guide walks at a quick pace. It would be nice if she would walk just a bit slower, which would allow for participants to catch their breath, carry on conversations, and maybe take a pic or two, and make it to the castles as a group in plenty of time for entry. All in all, it was nice day trip, though for us, a bit rushed.
Fantastic trip, Ursula was an excellent and engaging guide. There was a lot more walking and climbing steps than I had anticipated, but I should have researched this more ahead of time. Bus was well equipped with a full snack table, coffee, and a bathroom, and even a surprise beer at the end! Gorgeous scenery…well worth it!
What an absolutely amazing day! The entire tour was wonderful from beginning to end. The bus ride was comfortable, and the thoughtful touches of having coffee available when we boarded and delicious treats along the way made the experience even more enjoyable. The castles were simply breathtaking—extraordinary, beautiful, and almost beyond belief in their grandeur. Our tour guide was welcoming, knowledgeable, and full of wonderful information, and our bus driver was equally warm and accommodating. Both helped make the day feel special and memorable. Thank you for such a beautifully organized and enjoyable experience.
Deyse and our driver Sinad (spelling?) where a great team on rainy day with traffic. They went above and beyond to make sure we made our tour times promptly. Through history explanations in a casual setting- the comfort of the bus, coffee and snacks and smaller group as well as prepaid interior tickets where worth the extra cost for a pleasant and hassle free day. Very well organized!
Amazing experience and we would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Munich area! We had the absolute best tour guide, Deyse. She was incredibly friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and informative throughout the entire day. She made the tour enjoyable from start to finish and did a fantastic job explaining the history and significance of each place we visited. We visited during the very busy Oktoberfest season in Munich, so we were expecting things to be crowded and potentially difficult to navigate. To make things even more stressful, I accidentally purchased our tickets for the wrong day. Thankfully, Deyse went above and beyond to help us. She was extremely understanding and worked with us to honor the tickets we had purchased and accommodate us on the day we had originally planned to attend. Her willingness to help and make sure we didn’t miss out on the experience was truly appreciated. The tour itself was incredible. Neuschwanstein Castle was absolutely breathtaking, and seeing it in person was even more impressive than we expected. Visiting Oberammergau was also a great addition and gave us the opportunity to experience a beautiful and charming Bavarian village. Linderhof Palace was another highlight, with its incredible architecture, gardens, and fascinating history. Deyse did an amazing job throughout the entire day, making sure everyone was comfortable, informed, and enjoying themselves. She was always willing to answer questions and provided great recommendations and information that made the experience feel much more personal than simply visiting these locations on our own. Overall, this was one of the highlights of our trip to Germany. Between the beautiful destinations, the organization of the tour, and especially having such a wonderful guide in Deyse, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We would absolutely recommend this tour and would happily take another tour with Deyse in the future!
Faizan was awesome! He was very knowledgeable and timely. He knew every trick in the book. He knew where to get the best pictures, the most economical souvenirs and the best views. The bus was very luxurious. The driver was very good, I felt safe at all times. They had drinks and snacks on board. The group size was not overwhelming, making it easy, to get to know other passengers on the trip. Overall, it was an amazing time.
We were travelling as a couple and tour was excellent. Hanene was our tour guide she was very polite and patient in telling the history of the bus in which we were travelling “2004 Bayern Munich travelled in the same bus we boarded with no 5006” and was nostalgic. Hanene was very knowledgeable about history of the castles and King Ludwig which was enriching indeed along with nature displaying its beauty and leaving us awestruck. Couples and folks who are more energetic can think of trekking and cover Mary’s bridge the Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderholf castle. Do remember to carry extra back pack for sure phone will drain out of battery clicking pictures from different angles, unfortunately nothing is allowed to be clicked inside the castle. In between 2 visits of the castle we also visited small country side village “Oberammergau”. Absolute scenic village to walk for about 30 mins. As you take walk you will get to play very esoteric games which we would have forgotten due to mobile phones. Really good fun to have as a couple and also with kids and children’s. I would also like to thank our fellow friend who was driving the bus “pardon me I forgot your name 🫣, very safe in driving us the whole tour. Overall very nice organised trip
Despite being a long day, it’s extremely well thought out so that you maximise your time in a comfortable way. Our tour guide was Daysee and she was a delightfully happy and sweet character who had excellent knowledge and perks for ‘her group’ that got us some additional benefits that other groups would have missed out on. Vladdy, our driver was also excellent and mastered the bus on the autobahn and winding Bavarian roads and even took us a little deeper through one of the small town stops. He was also master of the drinks from hot coffees to water and beer and an assortment of snacks you could choose from if you wished. The bus was clean and tidy and comfortable and also had a handy little toilet on board if required. This experience is definitely something to consider when in Bavaria, if not for the history then definitely for the postcard like pictures and the castles. Just sit back and relax. There will be some walking and steps to climb but honestly not too bad. Highly recommend. But just remember to be exactly on time!
The trip to these historical places was absolutely magnificent! Our driver, Vlad was lovely, and our guide Deyse was very knowledgeable and sweet! Highly recommend this trip and the people that made it happen!
This was truly an amazing experience from start to finish! The Premium Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof VIP Tour from Munich was one of the highlights of our trip. A very special thank you to our guide, Ursula, who was absolutely fantastic. She was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely interesting to listen to. Her beautiful stories, fascinating historical insights, and passion for the places we visited made the castles come alive in a way that simply seeing them on your own never could. We also want to give a huge thank you to our driver, Matko, who was accommodating, professional, friendly, and made the entire journey comfortable and effortless. His excellent service really added to the VIP experience. And a special thank you for all the thoughtful touches along the way — the delicious snacks, refreshments, and, of course, the wonderful Bavarian beer! 🍺 These little details made the day feel truly special. The combination of breathtaking castles, fascinating history, exceptional hospitality, and such a wonderful team made this an unforgettable day. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Bavaria and looking for a truly premium experience!
The castle tours were terrific with wonderful local guides. Dayse was a great group leader and kept us on time. The bus was clean and they provided snacks and drinks. Our driver was great.
