Excellent tour weaving history and gastronomy in to a single experience. Our family, ranging in age from 14 to 75, all enjoyed the experience. Patrick is an exceptional guide and host.

The tour was only my wife and I as no one else booked. We were really happy that this tour company didn’t cancel due to the lack of bookings, which we’ve encountered in other cities. Kevin was an awesome guide, and answered every last one of my tourist questions. The food was amazing and we visited a lot of great spots. I would highly recommend.
We had a lot of fun in this food tour. Kevin was very nice and informative about Munich history and the food we had. He also gave us great recommendations for places to visit in Munich like the duetsches Museum. The food was great and I particularly liked the Munich white sausage and falafel. I would recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys history and bavarian food.
Kevin definitely has a good understanding of the Munich casual food scene and a gift for communicating with people using his good Irish humor and a sincere, heart felt love for Munich. We've taken several food tours of Munich and his is by far the best. We will definitely be recommending Kevin to our friends and family when they tour Munich in the future.
We had an absolutely fantastic time on the Munich Viktualienmarkt and Beyond Food Tasting Tour, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide, Liam. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable throughout the entire experience. Liam did an excellent job blending the modern culture of Munich with the city’s rich history, giving us fascinating insights everywhere we went. Every stop on the tour was thoughtfully chosen. Lovely locations, exciting atmosphere, authentic local spots, and truly great food. There was more than enough to eat and drink, and we especially loved the cute traditional beer gardens and the lively energy of the market where the tour ended. This tour felt authentic, fun, and personal from start to finish. If you’re visiting Munich and want a great way to experience the city through its food, culture, and history, we highly recommend this tour. And especially Liam as your guide!
Make sure you arrive hungry and pace yourself through the experience. Liam was the perfect host and story teller. He even shared general non-food cultural tidbits along the way that only added to our experience in Germany. The length of the tour was perfect as it allowed for other activities in the day. Would highly recommend this tour.
Daniel gave us an excellent, thoughtful, absorbing tour of the old city and its food. Not only did he give us historical perspective, but the insights of a modern-day citizen of Munich. The time whizzed past.
Bridget, our guide was welcoming, knowledgeable, funny and attentive. The food experiences were authentic and enjoyable.
Jocelyn was an excellent tour guide. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. We tasted traditional Bavarian treats (including beer with breakfast!) She managed our group of 10 well and offered suggestions beyond the tour. I would be happy to go on a tour with her again.
Kevin was very good at explaining the elements of Munich with their food culture, also Kevin kept us laughing as we went from place to place, however the tour was not value for the money we paid for this tour, overall we were a bit deflated as we had expected so much more from this tour, all the food was good.
From start to finish, Noel made our Viktualienmarkt food‑tasting experience something really special. If you’re considering this tour, here’s why Noel stands out and what makes the tour memorable and what we got out of it: We ended up with a deeper appreciation for Bavarian cuisine beyond the usual tourist fare. Insider knowledge: what to try, what to avoid, local customs, and what each ingredient means in context. A feeling of being part of the city rather than being a tourist — seeing the markets, meeting vendors, hearing stories. This tour with Noel is one of the best ways to get to know Munich through its food. You’ll eat well, learn a lot, and leave with a richer sense of the city. Highly recommended — whether you’re a first‑time visitor, a returning visitor or even a life long Münchner and looking for something authentic.
We had a great tour filled with beer, sausage, sandwiches, donuts, cake, and coffee. Noel was a knowledgeable historian. We had a great time!
What a great way to get to know the city! You get history of Munich along the way and all of the food was delicious! I did this on the last day, but think it would be more worthwhile earlier in the trip to help get a lay of the land a little bit. Patrick was a great guide! Lots of food, so make sure you go hungry.
Wonderful food! We were stuffed at the end of the tour. Patrick was very informative and shared a lot of history along our tour. It was fun to try the many different foods.
Liam was a phenomenal tour guide! We had a great time, highly recommend! We ate all kinds of delicious, local food and had great beer!
I highly recommend this tour! Our guide, Patrick, was extremely knowledgeable and made the tour very fun. The food was excellent and there was lots of it. So glad we made this part of our Munich experience!
We really enjoyed Noel as our guide . He was great in sharing history as we did the food tour . We enjoyed the great Munich food and were educated .
Daniel was an amazing host! We loved the size of our group and the personalised approach taken. Highly recommended this experience
This was a wonderful tour, thanks in no small part to our charming guide, Kevin. He was knowledgeable about the food we tasted, its history, and its place in Munich culture. Our family, including two sons ages 20 and 14, missed him as soon as the tour ended (and the boys loved debating soccer with him).
We had signed up for a small group tour but the group ended up just being my wife and I and the tour guide, Noel. Noel was informative and gave us a good bit of interesting info about Munich and the foods we ate. The quantity of food was about right in that we left full but not overstuffed. The food itself was about average for the food tours we have been on, but that is mostly because German cuisine, while tasty, is rather limited. The amount of walking was probably a bit less than the average tour since it was all concentrated in the Marianplatz area. Still, overall we enjoyed it and think Noel did a very good job..
We really enjoyed our tour with Noel on a beautiful sunny day in May. The tour exceeded my expectations at every turn. Noel gave us great historical information and facts and also gave insider tips and local backstory on most of the things we saw, too. He was a great leader who made us all feel comfortable and we enjoyed everyone's company. The food was AMAZING, and we ended the tour completely stuffed! Noel sent us an email with more recommendations for things to do and places to eat in Munich that was very helpful. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Munich. Do it on your first day so you can get a sense of the city and what it has to offer so you can make the most of the rest of your time.
This was an excellent tour that delved into the history of Munich as well as the local cuisine. Our tour guide Noel was funny and extremely informative. He went out of his way to make sure we had a great time. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Noel expertly led us through the streets of Munich, tantalizing our taste buds while expanding our minds. Noel focused on the main foods popular to Munich, and ended the tour in a beer garden with fruit, cheese, and bread from the Viktualienmarkt. My family said they felt like locals! Noel also gave great recommendations for food later, activities and must sees around town. Excellent tour and excellent guide!
Patrick was a fun and fantastic guide to great food— super cool guy! He was very knowledgeable on the history and cultural significance of the food and the locations, and led us to the best of the best! He was even able to navigate a huge crowd of football fans (finals in town today!) to take us to a fantastic blend of quaint, quiet spots as well as the bustling Biergarten! Very accommodating. Highly recommended for all visitors!
We always enjoy taking a food tour when we visit new places and this one did not disappoint. Our tour guide, Iain, was very friendly and knowledgeable taking us to several different places to try delicious samples of food popular in Bavaria. The food and beer were great and we learned a lot along the way. There was so much food that we could not finish everything and Iain made sure it did not go to waste and gave leftovers to the less fortunate. This is a great way to get embedded into the culture of the region.
We were a family of 3 -- two adults and one teen. Our tour guide was Iain. He was super funny, personable and knowledgable. We really enjoyed the Viktualienmarkt and the food on our tour. We also got a little tour of Munich as we were walking. Very fun! The tour was very tailored and even though we probably got food that everyone gets (like weisswurst), I also think we got things that we just thought were interesting or wanted to try. We highly recommend the tour!
Jocylin (sp) was amazingly informed and treated us to an amazing time. We learned so much about German cuisine and German traditions. Not to mention the history lesson. It was well worth the time and money. I highly reccomend this tour.
Great tour. Easy walking. Daniel was exceptionally knowledgeable about Munich history and its food. The food was amazing . I think we tried almost every authentic German food . Also some great photo opportunities.
A really nice tour to take at the beginning of your stay in Munich and get to know the city centre. Daniel was just great! Extremely welcoming and helpful! Gave us a lot of great reccommendations (sights and cafes/bars) what to do after the tour. The food part of the tour was also really good. Everything was delicious! You are guaranteed to end the tour completely full and very satisfied! Would reccommend to everyone!
We did a private food tour with Kevin with my son, father, and brother in law and had a fantastic time. Kevin was a great storyteller and did an amazing job weaving history, geography, food, and good conversation into the tour. He made sure to keep the tour moving and us very well fed. The food was great and more than enough. Kevin also gave us great advice on where to get chocolate and recommended we drive down to Fussen the next day since the weather was amazing. (Kevin - we did, and had a great time down there!). I've been on food tours all over the world and this was as good as it gets!
We had an excellent morning discovering the foodie side of Munich with our fantastic guide Kevin. Highly recommend this tour. A wonderful introduction to this beautiful city and its culinary delights. Kevin gave us great tips on what to see and do, and where to eat during the rest of our stay.
Guide was very informative, friendly and outgoing. Good sampling of traditional Bavarian foods. We would recommend him to others.
Patrick led a great tour. Showcasing different aspects of Munich’s rich history, great food, and culture. Highly recommended.
Noel was an excellent guide. Had a great time. We were able to eat delicious food and got a nice introduction to the city. Would recommend.
Limited food experience. Only wurst, bread and beer. Too expensive and limited for a food tour I’m sure there must be more than bread and wurst in Munich
Super impressive history and food tour led by Marcus. He provided great, useful historic and culinary information, appropriate for all levels in our group. We were also provided brilliant tips on what else to see in Munich and where to access cool places in the city for the young adults in our group. Highly recommended!
My wife and I signed up for the food tour as part of our honeymoon. We were impressed with our tour guide and all that he introduced us to! We had a great time learning about the history of Bavaria and experiencing the city in a more personal and intimate way. We met some great people as well. After walking the old city and learning about all of the ToDo's, we wish we had more time! Our tour guide Noel is incredibly affable, knowledgeable and we would 100% go on a tour with him again. Cheers!
Liam was an excellent tour guide who was extremely knowledgeable on the history, food, and even miscellaneous facts like pigeons! My boyfriend and I were fortunate enough to be the only ones signed up for our session so we ultimately got a private tour. It was a pleasure bonding with Liam on our personal lives as well as enjoying his teachings as we walked around Munich. Liam was very kind, funny, and flexible to our needs. Highly recommend!
Patrick is an excellent tour guide for the Original Munich Christmas Market Food Tour. The twelve of us had a great time visiting each market, didn't feel rushed, and enjoyed the hot beverages, nuts, sandwiches, and donuts! Patrick is very knowledgeable, which made the tour all the better. Definitely recommend.
Patrick was an amazing guide for the Christmas Markets and the history of Munich. Food, drinks, company and sights were excellent.
Kevin was our tour guide and he took us to some AMAZING spots. We typically try to do a food tour in each new city we go and I'm glad we chose this group versus another. Kevin has a history background and was able to provide a unique etic perspective. Able to laugh with us at idiosyncacies and provide an honest perspective on historical hardships of the area. Then the food!! Gah!! Yum!! Would whole-heartedly recommend this tour, especially if you're lucky enough to have Kevin as your guide.
Patrick did an amazing job guiding us through the Christmas markets. He had a good balance of getting to know a little bit about us, sharing his personal journey in Germany, and educating us on history of Munich as we toured through the Christmas markets. The food choices were perfect, the small group blended well together and we also had time to just roam & shop in between the different stops. I would highly recommend Patrick and look forward to future tours with him on my next trip to Munich!
My daughter and I joined the Fork and Walk Tour Munich — ”More than Viktualienmarkt Food Tour” with our guide, Ian. Of the many fine tours we took in Munich, Ian’s was the most fascinating and worthwhile. He relayed the deep Bavarian history and culture marked by our surroundings as we covered one food experience after another. Impressive to us was his knowledge of the economic history of Munich and how various ingredients emerged from old trade routes to define the unique foods and culinary skills that Munich is known for today.
Fantastic your! If you book this, I hope Lain is your your guide. He's funny as can be and very knowledgeable about Münich history and food/beer culture. This tour is certainly worth three hours of your time.
Great tour. Patrick was amazing tour guide with great knowledge and cultivated a comfortable vibe among those on the tour! Highly recommend for those that want to experience food and culture of Munich!
A great way to get a better understanding of the local food and customs, also a bit of history. The food we sampled was varied and very good. Also, the beer. Patrick, our guide, was a great and generous host, and teacher. Highly recommend this tour as one way to get a head start on your time in Munich. Not much to think about as all is very well planned so all you have to do is learn and enjoy.
Patrick is an amazing tour guide!!! He provided a great amount of history, amazing local food, and a nice tour of Munich. He kept the tour fun and included everone. We had an amazing time and enjoyed our tour!
What an amazing food tour! It was a really fun afternoon of exploring the market and trying all sorts of food. Our guide Ian was full of knowledge and it quickly became a great food/history tour of Bavaria. My friend is vegetarian and they were able to accommodate her diet, we both had plenty to eat.
This was a great way to learn about the wonderful food offered in the market while gaining an understanding of Munich and its importance to German history. Our guide Ian was fantastic and made our time with him fly by. The food selections were delicious and authentic. We went back to try some of them again - not touristy.
Ian was a fabulous tour guide who walked us through the food, beer and history of Munich and Bavaria. Weisswurst was better than expected and the mustard was delicious! We’re taking some home with us.
