Munich Old Town Walking Tour

Teresa was informative, friendly, and helpful. We were impressed with her knowledge and learned a lot about old and new Munich. Her background information about the Hitler years was very interesting.

Daniel was a great tour guide who explained much of the context and history in and around Munich and it was a great helpful starting Point for us to expand our searches afterwards I highly recommend it

This was a fantastic tour! Dani was a gem of a tour guide - we were so lucky to have her. She is a wonderful storyteller and guided us all through some incredible history of Munich. We learned things we would never have otherwise known, which really helped us get a better picture of the city and understand the background and culture. Dani's personal insight and humor was a welcome addition. I'm so glad we did this tour.

A wonderful morning with Lucia that finished up with the noon viewing of the Rathaus Glockenspiel. The tour moved along at a comfortable pace that provided plenty of information about the past and present of Munich. There was time for questions and the information provided was comprehensive without being overwhelming. Definitely a great time and highly recommended for anyone who wants to learn more about and become more comfortable with the old town of Munich!

What an amazing experience walking through a difficult period in history. I was left with a new perspective and a better understanding of the human element of WWII. Sam is an amazing story teller and engaging tour guide. I highly recommend you invest a few hours and take this tour.

Great concise tour. The nearly 2.5 hours went by quickly. Were not subjected to lectures and tutorials like some other walking tours, this was very interesting and we covered most of Munich's major sites in a fun, organised and insightful way. One of the better walking tours we have done. Highly recommended.

Sarah was good but unlike other food tours in different cities, there was a lot of wasted time - only 1 place where you had all your food and few beer places.

Our guide Anna is from the area and gave us a lot of good useful history and information about Bavaria. She answered many questions, and truly was sincere in her approach. This was our first day in Munich, and it was a great introduction. This tour company does a great job, and we would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Munich.

Leon was high-energy and gave us a lot of information, in addition to just the sights, including restaurant and tavern tips, which I appreciated. It was a big group, about 30 people, but I think it was because this was high season in Munich, during Oktoberfest. Leon even covered tipping culture in Germany, so that was helpful (though a little late for the waiter we had short changed the night before). There wasn’t a lot of walking, suitable for most fitness levels.

Tour guide was hard to hear and her accent made her English a little hard to understand. If you have any issues hearing I suggest yusingca tour company that has whisper technology earpieces so you can hear your guide. Radius Tours does not believe in this but it would make your tour much more informative and enjoyable. Choose a company who uses this technology.

Very informative tour! Our Guide Bernd was well informed, humorous and very patient as our group asked many questions during the tour. When first arriving in Munich this a a great method of finding your way around the city. We covered many major attractions and learned a great deal of history along the way. Many thanks to Bernd!

We thought Michael was a great guide! We had a larger group of close to 20 and he did a great job keeping everyone close in and as involved as they’d like to be. We had a few wanderers and he managed to corral them as well. I did feel like the Munich tour was a little more “in the weeds” of German monarchy history but perhaps that’s just because I’m not very knowledgeable of that history. Overall, he was very engaging I’m sure any tour he did would be enjoyable.

Munich is a beautiful historical city with deeply Catholic roots. Yet our guide mocked the beliefs of the citizens. Very poor taste and actually just boring.

We ended the tour at Maximilians Statue. Our guide was great and very knowledgeable, but I felt that too much of the tour focused on talking rather than actually seeing the places listed in the itinerary. If we wanted to hear all those details without seeing the locations, we could have just attended a classroom lecture. We visited fewer places than what was mentioned in the itinerary, so I was hoping for more walking and sightseeing rather than mostly explanations. • Viktualienmarkt, • St. Peter's Church, • Alter Hof, • Odeonsplatz ate the places we did not able to see during the walking tour.

Michael was fantastic, especially since he has a degree in history and has a passion for it. He was extremely knowledgeable, personable, spoke very clear English and was extremely enjoyable. Probably one of the best tour guides we have experienced booking with Viator. Highly recommend him and this tour.

Old Munich is a must see if you visit the capital of Bavaria. We were wisely advised that you only need a half day for Oktoberfest and this tour is a perfect compliment. Give yourself enough time. We struggled to locate the tour office but the tour manager kindly rebooked us which was greatly appreciated.
