Anna was wonderful. Loved that we could customize the tour. Be aware that there could be a lot of walking. Bring water and dress appropriately.

We had a wonderful time on our private tour of Munich. I would recommend to anybody, whether you are visiting for the first time or have been before, because you will see and learn new things for sure. Our guide Esper was great, and we toured significant landmarks in the city, the palace, a beer hall, and several beautiful churches. We also learned a lot about the history and culture, including Oktoberfest (which we attended the next day!). Our tour was all walking, so just dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes, and have a great day!
The tour guide led a large group of us through Dachau. He was very knowledgeable, was prepared with laminated pictures that added to the experience, answered everyone’s questions, and seemed able to thoroughly answer any question about the camp and the time. Also seemed like a nice guy. Highly recommend.
Our guide, Ender, was very knowledgeable. He explained the history, politics, architecture and culture of Munich in a very engaging way. We asked to have some food & beer and he knew the perfect places.
Paola Was an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable and charming! What a great introduction to a beautiful city.
Michelle was a wonderful guide who went at our speed, was a wealth of information and imparted her knowledge clearly. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with her.
Our guide, Anna, provided so much of the back story behind the many things to see in the old town of Munich. Even the places we had seen in earlier explorations gave us a much higher level of appreciation. Anna was engaging and considerate of all our requests. She took us to places well known to locals but would be missed by visitors. Things worth buying and things way overpriced. Our 4 hour tour was over before we knew it and we certainly got our money’s worth. Thank you Anna.
Michelle was very personable and knowledgable. We loved learning the history of old town Munich while seeing the architectural highlights. I would highly recommend Michelle to anyone interested in getting the background story behind the beautiful city.
Great tour! Our guide was personable and helpful. Showed us a lot but not rushed. She personalized it for us and went at our pace.
In the description it says that "After booking, you can adjust the meeting point to fit your preferences", however when we booked the tour, the guide refused to customize our meeting point and didn't even explain why. At the same time we received an email from the company stating that the guide will meet us at the hotel. And then another email from the company confirming meeting at our hotel. That was all very confusing. We were not sure if the guide will come to our hotel after all or not, will the tour happen tomorrow or not. Should we plan something else or wait for third confirmation? When we asked the guide (direct quote) "why do you say one thing and your company says another thing?", the guide canceled the tour and wrote us that we are being aggressive and rude, and we should be more polite. Not sure what was rude and aggressive about this message, but whatever. The whole experience dealing with this company was a waste of time. If you want a smooth vacation with a friendly service from the guide, look elsewhere.
The guide was enthusiastic & knowledgeable, but could have managed time better for us to cover more sites.
Of course all the historical sites, but watching the surfers then walking in the park was an unexpected delight.
Stefan is the ultimate guide in Munich! We absolutely recommend him in the event you choose this tour. His knowledge of architecture and history is just fantastic. Very patient with our group of Seniors. Good sense of humor and just very likable as a person. Giving him more than 5 stars!!!
We were confirmed for a private Munich History tour at 2pm. We showed up at the meeting place and NO Tour guide. Called Viator and she said guide cancelled. Seriously they had my phone number as well as my email absolutely no communication! This was our only day in Munich if we were notified earlier in the day we could have made other sight seeing plans.
What a great time we had with Camilla, our guide for the afternoon. Camilla was not only very friendly and a great conversationalist, but also very knowledgeable about the city. She brought the city to life with interesting facts about various points of interest that only a local would know. The tour was thorough and well paced. Highly recommended.
It was a really good experience, Camilla was great, she shared some facts we did not know which I enjoyed knowing about. We walked a lot! Four hrs was a good amount of time to know and see more of the city.
Spending the day with Nino was well worth it. She had incredible knowledge on the history of Munich in Germany, and was very pleasant throughout the entire trip. I would highly recommend her. She speaks very fluent English, and completely understood all of our questions.
Absolute waste of money! Your operator made contact within last 24 hours (therefore we couldn’t get refund) and changed pick up point. Actual tour operator is not who you book with. Guide that was appointed to us communicated with us via email not through app. Created issues as we don’t use email unless on wifi. Last contact to us was at 10:55pm at night via email with contradictory information of the tour meeting point at 8am next day. We had many phone calls between the “booking company” and tried to cancel. Just shy of $1000 for 4 of us. No refund offered despite us asking. Our boys went on the 4 hour tour. Tour guide was constantly arrogant and rude to them about us not going. Also wound up the tour 20 minutes prior to 4 hours. Also we had completed survey of what we’d wanted to see and your was NOT tailored to this. Last night we spoke to booking company again with guarantee they’d get back to us ASAP to resolve our disappointment - but have never heard back. Waste of time, money and extremely awful business to deal with. Buy a map and do it yourself. Boys said they learnt more on the hop on hop off bus
Our guide, Paola, was spectacular! She personalized our tour based on our interest in churches and history and was patient as I took so many photos. She was very knowledgeable with our questions and is very proficient in American English. Thank you for a most enjoyable experience!
Our guide was exceptional- knowledgeable, interesting and very astute to our needs. We learned an incredible amount in this 4 hour tour and this will be a very positive memory.
Very nice, knowledgeable guide. Very enjoyable . Loved the experiences. Castles were beautiful . Lovely experience
Fantastic - the whole family loved it! The guide did a wonderful job and the kids - 7,10 and 14 had a great time.
Bridget was a wonderful guide. We did a 4 hour walking trip with her and we covered and saw loads Very easy and friendly to be with too.
Anna was easy to work with and contacted us prior to our tour. She was punctual and knowledgeable. Anna was well educated on Munich and WWII history She brought us to several hidden churches that we would never have found on our own.
Our tour guide was not a certified guide and knew very little history of the city or of WWII. We asked to see WWII sites and hear about the history of Munich and were told “nothing important happened in Munich-it all happened in Berlin”. Our tour guide walked past the Hofbrau Haus and I had to ask if we could go inside. She only wanted to talk about art exhibits around the city. Horrible personal tour!
Franz was an exceptional guide. He spoke excellent English and quickly realized that our pace was a bit slower then most. He adjusted beautifully and we still managed to see many beautiful sights and learn so much about the history of Germany, Munich, the war and religion. Upon completion of our tour he recommended a place for dinner, took us there and waited for us to be seated. It too was exceptional! It was our first day in Munich after flying overnight and we are so glad we had this wonderful overview of beautiful Munich. If you have the opportunity to book time with Franz, you won’t be disappointed.
Great city overview. Stefano shared lots of history, culture and hidden spots. Be ready for a lot of walking. He is an excellent guide
What a wonderful way to be introduced to a city abroad! Stefano was incredibly knowledgable, and his love for his city shined throughout the experience. We learned so much and loved getting acquainted with the city alongside one of its wonderful residents. The private tour was intimate and rewarding, would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting the city!
Our guide was fantastic. We learned a lot and had a very pleasant experience. I would gladly do this your and similar tours going forward.
Our tour guide Sandra was so knowledgeable and kind. We were able to cover all the must see spots in only 4 hours which was great given we were only in Munich for a few days. Sandra also showed us all the best food and beer spots and even taught us some helpful German sayings which really came in handy. I honestly can’t say enough great things about our guide Sandra, she made this a very memorable experience and also had a great sense of humor. 10/10 would recommend this tour with Sandra!!!!
Sandra was very informative and knows her history. She has only lived in Munich for 3 years and already has gained a lot of knowledge on the City. She had a plan of everything she wanted to show us and did a great job explaining everything. Our tour went into the evening and she had many photos to go with the stories of the history that occurred in many of the locations.
From the first contact from City Unscripted and throughout the whole experience it was excellent. I highly recommend using them and will wherever I travel. They contacted me right after booking and then my guide contacted right before the tour. Our tour guide was Stefano P. He was so excellent and I would highly recommend him. What he shared will help every time I will travel to Europe. He is really a fantastic guide. If you planning this, I would recommend doing it early in the trip as Stefano showed us many places we would have liked to investigate further. We did it the day before the end of our Holiday. The way that City Unscripted does these tours/experiences is top notch - just fantastic.
This was a pleasant time. The guide we had was a really sweet girl. She tried her very hardest to keep us engaged and interested. It was a difficult for her because much of the city was cut off due to Oktoberfest parades and she was not prepared for that. Understand that you are with a local, not a tour guide. The benefit is that you can tweak as you go to make sure the experience is your own! In retrospect, I would have requested someone more in common with mine and my husbands ages. Our tour guide was 19 and so couldn't provide the recommendations for restaurants, bars, etc and insight that I had hoped, but next time I will just request someone older. Let me reiterate, our guide was so eager to please us and tried really hard. She was ontime and flexible.
With only two days in Munich we needed a comprehensive walking tour in order to appreciate Munich in such short time. Our tour guide Sandra was pleasant and knowledgeable. She took us to a plethora of historical landmarks as well as fun tourist spots such as the Haufbrau House. Sandra’s kind demeanor and appreciation for history and culture make her an excellent tour guide.
