I thought it was a lovely ride, good route and the guide (Scott) was excellent! He made the day for us. I would pick another meeting point. There were way too many trips going on at same time. So we had to go to the shop and wait for the group there.

Itinerary
Marienplatz: The Heart of Munich. Right here, in the vibrant pulse of the city, stands Marienplatz. This historic square has been Munich's central hub for centuries, famed for its stunning New Town Hall with the iconic Glockenspiel and lively atmosphere. It's the perfect starting point for our exploration of this incredible city! We have our short intro here before we start the bike tour.
We do a quick stop here for our guests to purchase water and ponchos and let you know where we are in case you want to rent bikes after your tour.
The Platzl: Home of Munich's Heartbeat. This charming, historic square is essentially the birthplace of Munich's legendary beer culture! It's famously home to the world-renowned Hofbräuhaus, and its cobblestone streets are lined with traditional Bavarian buildings. The Platzl perfectly captures the essence of old Munich, making it a lively and authentic stop.e
We stop here to tell guests about the Bavarian State Chancellory and the Hofgarten.
The Residenz, a magnificent complex of buildings in Munich, was once the royal palace of the Wittelsbach monarchs of Bavaria. This sprawling palace houses over 130 rooms, including the stunning Cuvilliés Theatre and the historic Hercules Hall. The Residenz is a testament to Bavarian history and architectural splendor, offering visitors a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of the royal family. We ride through the Courtyards but do not go inside. You can do this at your own leisure after the tour. Admission is then applicable.
Here we explain the history of the Wittelsbach family and their role in putting Munich on the map.
We stop here for a while to explain the history that took place here over many centuries and also give our guests the opportunity to see the St. Kajetan Church from the inside.
The best way to see the second largest inner city park in the world is by bicycle. See why the locals love this park full of surprises.
We stop for a traditional lunch under the Chinese Tower. This is a self service food court that also has vegetarian options so everyone can eat what they want. The price of lunich is not inluded in the tour price.
We do a scenic ride along the Isar - the reason many of the locals live here as this is our "Beach" in summer.
We have a quick stop here on the far side of the Isar River before continuing along the river to the next stop.
We end our tour close to this S-Bahn stop.
The Maximilianeum, a grand Neo-Renaissance building, was commissioned by King Maximilian II of Bavaria in 1857. Designed by Friedrich Bürklein, it initially served as an educational institution for gifted students. Situated on the banks of the Isar River, the Maximilianeum is a striking landmark on Maximilianstrasse, a renowned boulevard lined with Neo-Gothic palaces. We stop here for a quick photo op. Though construction was delayed, the building was eventually completed in 1874 and has since undergone renovations, particularly after World War II.

Absolutely Amazing Bike Tour — Kyle Made It Unforgettable! If you’re visiting Munich, Mike’s Bike Tours is an absolute MUST! My wife and I had an incredible experience, and so much of that was thanks to our fantastic guide, Kyle! Kyle was simply outstanding! As a history major, his knowledge of Munich, its fascinating history, and its culture was incredible. But what really set him apart was his ability to bring that history to life with humor, great stories, and a personality that kept everyone entertained and engaged. He made learning about Munich genuinely fun! One of the things that impressed us most was how effortlessly Kyle handled an unexpected change in plans. When we arrived at the Chinese Tower Beer Garden and discovered they weren’t serving food, he didn’t miss a beat! He quickly pivoted and took us to a charming little square with several fantastic food and drink options. It turned into one of the highlights of our day! That’s the sign of a truly great guide. Safety was clearly a priority throughout the tour. Kyle made everyone feel comfortable and confident riding through Munich while keeping the experience relaxed, fun, and exciting. And the bike tour itself? Absolutely the best way to see Munich! We explored beautiful parks, charming streets, and hidden corners of the city that a traditional bus tour simply couldn’t get close to. Being on bikes allowed us to really experience Munich rather than just look at it through a window. We’ve taken many tours over the years, and Kyle ranks right up there with the very best guides we’ve experienced. His combination of historical knowledge, quick thinking, humor, and genuine enthusiasm made this an unforgettable experience. If you’re coming to Munich, skip the bus and get on a bike with Mike’s Bike Tours. And if you’re lucky enough to get Kyle as your guide, you’re in for a real treat! Thank you, Kyle, for making our visit to Munich so memorable!
Dave was fantastic! Professional, knowledgeable, safe and funny.
Excellent bike tour, we had Scott, great fun and great sights in a beautiful city. Would most definitely recommend
Tour started with Tim who was well informed and funny. We then got taken over by Lochi who was equally informed abd just as fun.He guided us around pointing out bits on buildings and local spots you would have never noticed without him. He made the tour really fun and informative which unfortunately made the time fly by. A must do when visiting!
We were able to cover lots of ground on two wheels. Scott shared many bonus travel opportunities in the area.
Fantastic tour, Kyle, our guide was brilliant so funny and made my Stagg do trip even more enjoyable. 10/10
Scott was a great guide. We saw lots of sights that were on my list, he was attentive to keeping everyone together and safe ( we had a large group) and told us all kinds of fun facts. I highly recommend this option for anyone who loves biking and learning about Munich 😁
This bike tour of Munich was great. Our guide David was excellent. He was knowledgeable, entertaining and gave a great overview of Munich's history and present. Highly recommend!
Chloe was fabulous! Saw parts of Munich we had not seen during previous visits.
Our bike tour in Munich was awesome! We did this our first day in Munich and it was such a great route to stop and see so many places. Tim was the perfect guide…knowledgeable, humorous, and proud of his city. He also gave us insider tips - go Team Tim! The biking was very easy and the perfect amount of time. This is a great tour for all ages and I highly recommend it!
I’d highly recommend this tour. We spent about 3.5 hours riding bikes at a comfortable pace throughout central Munich with Scott. We stopped at a bunch of sites where he told us about the history of the area and how the various sites fit in with Munich over the years. What a fun way to see the city and get some background on its history.
Kyle was a great guide. Really fun afternoon .
Know how to ride a bike and be prepared to learn. It is a great opportunity to bike in a very bike friendly city
This was the 12th time I have taken this tour, it is a requirement for all my American friends that visit me in Munich. This was my first time with Tim as my guide and he was definitely one of the best guides I have had.
Great experience. Dave is an incredible guide. Highly knowledgeable and entertaining. It is convenient for people of all age groups who can cycle as the cycling is not too physically exhausting. One suggestion would be if there could be a little more time for photos at places. Otherwise a great tour
It was amazing bike ride through Munich city center. The tour guide was informative and honestly this tour exposed me to things I didn't know and inspired me to go check out another location afterwards. It was also veryyyy relaxing to cruise through the town
First of all, Chloe crushed this. Her energy and vibe were amazing. She got excited to share the history, and you could truly feel she was a genuine person. Biking through Munich was the way to go! We got to explore so much more, from the surfers to the English Gardens, Churches, and WWII history. Chloe brought it all to life. Lunch at the Chinese Tower was perfectly timed, and we felt like we had enough time at each place we stopped to truly take it in. Chloe, keep being awesome, and we can't wait to find your podcast one day- thanks for the cool conversations along the way. Book Mike's Bike Tours- the people rock.
Absolutely wonderful way to see the city and experience Munich. The bikes were refreshing and easy to use. The food stop in the park was a perfect way to taste traditional Bavarian food and beer and see the culture. There are other drinks than just beer.
Tour felt a little general. At the beginning there were about 80 people gathered (Oktoberfest week) and they walked us to the bikes. One of the tall guides Kyle made some harsh comments, was being kind of rude to the guests as he was cattle calling everyone into order. Including “hopefully you all can ride bikes better than you can walk” as he didn’t think people were walking quick enough for him. This just felt like a horrible way to start the day. Thankfully we were with a different tour guide Scott, who was very courteous and kind to everyone in our group. Overall, the tour didn’t seem to cover enough ground (we didn’t travel very far). But loved the englischgargen & the lunch stop, was a nice break.
Had such an incredible time on this bike tour with my group of friends! We loved all the different stops and learning the history and information along the way. Our tour guide, John, was amazing—so friendly, knowledgeable, and fun! He was extremely great with answering all of our questions making the experience even better. We all had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Munich!
Super fun way to explore Munich with a lot of really interesting information packed in. Would do it again.
The tour was great, our guide was awesome . We saw many sites and enjoyed the whole experience. Great !!!
So much fun! A great way to learn about the city landmarks and history! Our guide Kyle was so knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. He took great care to keep us safe and on schedule.
2nd time over last 10 years doing a Mikes tour. Great time & Iris was wonderful. We went with friends first time in Munich & they really enjoyed it. Relaxed & very informal. Thanks again!
Fun, informative day! Kylevwas awesome! Witty, knowledgeable and considerate. We had a great day on the roads of Munich.
Lots of wonderful history given by our great guide TIM! Beautiful scenery - must do!
Fantastic company. Have their act together. All the guides were excellent. Tim, our guide was extremely knowledgeable, funny, and mindful of all details during the tour. Wonderful experience.
The tour of the Old town was nice! Our guide was Dave, and he was very friendly and had a lot of information for us on the landmarks we visited. It wasn't overlong - which was nice, and I felt that, after the tour, I was more comfortable in navigating around the Marienplatz. The beergarden was expensive, but that's not the fault of the tour or the guide. Overall, I had a great experience.
Chloe was our guide. She was spectacular!!!
Iris was entertaining and very knowledgeable. I learnt so much in 4 hours. I went so quickly.
Brilliant tour with our guide Tim would definitely recommend!
This was so much fun! We saw everything and more in Munich in just under 4 hours. That was including a beer and lunch in rhe park, in the sun! Delightful. The tour guide was amazing, he is the son of the whole idea and he knows his stuff. Honestly if you want to see the city and touristy bits do this, well worth it and a bargain actually for the amount we learned and land we covered.
Chloe was a fun and easy going guide! She balanced telling us history with keeping things fun and interactive. Just enough time to see the city overview and helped us plan the rest of our trip!
Excellent tour! Nice, easy riding and lots of information shared by the guides. We had a great time.
Tim was our guide and he was amazing. The entire tour was so fun from start to finish. If you’re skeptical, don’t be. This is a must.
This was a wonderfully lighthearted way to see Munich on a lovely fall day-highly recommended Kyle who was very knowledgeable about the city and offered funny stories and commentary along the way! The ride through the park with the surfers and the swimmers in the river was something I had only seen on instagram! Wished I could have gone swimming 😊
This was a wonderful way to see Munich. It was a nice, relaxing ride with plenty of stops along the way. John was a great guide, he was very informative and knowledgeable about every stop.
This was a last minute decision for us and might be the best thing we did in Munich over three days. Our guide John was absolutely great with just the right amount of humor and a deep knowledge of Munich history. We really enjoyed ourselves.
Bikes were a great way to see the main city sights!
I thought the whole experience was mediocre. I’ve been on several bike tours over Europe. Most tend to be smaller and more intimate. This was large and chaotic. More stops, more chatter, very little biking. I’d check to see for smaller tours.
Kyle was an amazing tour guide, fun, knowledgeable, great at guiding our group and easy to chat with. A great way to get acquainted with Munich on our first full day in town.
Fantastic tour with Iris, a fabulous, knowledgeable and entertaining guide.
Kyle was awesome! Super well organized and a great time. I would recommend this tour on day 1 for anyone coming to Munich. The only thing I wish was that it was longer. I could have done that all day.
We had a great time on the bike tour. Iris did a great job providing history of historical landmarks and some fun facts regarding Munich. It is obvious she really enjoys the city and her enthusiasm for the city is apparent in the tour!
This is a wonderful activity. Our guide Chloe was amazing. We covered a lot of ground. Much more than a walking tour. I had not biked in many years but did fine. This is not for first time bikers, just saying. Chloe shared lots of great information with fun enthusiasm. Good workout too.
Couldn’t recommend this tour enough. You see so many landmarks and rick so many boxes in the space of a few hours. Cycling through the English garden is a real highlight. Chloe was a great tour full of energy and enthusiasm in what can’t be an easy gig. Very safe and a tour for all ages - terrain is very flat. Couldn’t recommend this enough.
Our tour guide Chloe was amazing! She was super knowledgeable about all the places we visited and clearly excited to share that with us. Had a great group of people but the tour guide made the experience!!
Munich Classic Bike Tour with Mikes Bikes . We had a great bike trip around Munich. Our host John was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and gave us all sufficient time around each stops to see the highlight and get back safely on the bike. Highlight was the English gardens and Beer Garden. All in all a great trip , Thanks John !
Booked by Julie Loved the tour. John was great guide.. Relaxed and Knowkwdgable. With nothing lost in translation.
