Dear Customer Support Team, I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the experience I had with your Blue Bus sightseeing service in Munich on 30 October 2026. I sincerely regret choosing your service over the Red Bus (City Sightseeing), as the experience turned out to be extremely unpleasant and resulted in a complete waste of my money and valuable travel time. I reached Munich at approximately 3:50 PM, and my sightseeing tour was scheduled for around 5:00 PM. Unfortunately, my taxi driver mistakenly dropped me off at the Red Bus stop instead of the Blue Bus stop. After some confusion, I managed to locate the correct Blue Bus stop at approximately 4:35 PM. I had to pull my luggage all the way to the correct location and was waiting at the designated bus stop for nearly 20 minutes. Despite having a valid booking, I approached and spoke to two of your bus drivers, hoping they would assist me. However, their behaviour was extremely rude, unhelpful and unapproachable. They communicated something in German while pointing to their wristwatches, without making any effort to explain the situation in English or help me understand why I could not board the bus. As a tourist unfamiliar with the German language, I found this behaviour particularly disappointing. Despite my genuine efforts to join the tour and having reached the correct stop before the scheduled departure, I was not permitted to board the bus. Consequently, I completely missed the sightseeing tour. Adding to my difficulties, I had to manage my luggage once again and eventually hire a rickshaw taxi near Munich Cathedral, for which I paid an additional €60. I had also booked my return journey from Munich at approximately 10:45 PM, and I had planned my entire day around this sightseeing experience. Unfortunately, because of the lack of cooperation and assistance from your drivers, my day was spoiled, and I suffered both financial loss and considerable inconvenience. I would therefore like to request the following: A full refund of the sightseeing tour ticket, as I was unable to avail myself of the service despite making every effort to reach the correct boarding point. An investigation into the conduct of the two bus drivers who were on duty at the time. Appropriate feedback and corrective action to ensure that other international tourists do not face a similar experience. I understand that operational schedules and boarding timings need to be followed. However, basic courtesy, clear communication and customer assistance are equally important, especially when dealing with international tourists. I sincerely hope your team will consider my situation sympathetically and process my refund at the earliest. I look forward to receiving a positive response and a resolution to this matter. Kind regards, A Disappointed Customer Mrs. Julie Mercy Jayapal

Munich is an amazing place. So much to see in the city and around it. Truly a great place. I booked all my tours through Viator and that turned out to be a great decision. All the tours were organized really well.
Its definitely easier using the hop on hop off bus to see these sights/sites. I think the ride could have been longer instead of needing another bus route to see other sites.
We have done the tour with Big Bus in many cities and loved those. This one was very underwhelming. The audio descriptions were very basic, and they were all playing either too ahead or too late. We couldnt figure out what landmark it was talking about a lot of times
Great for getting a quick overview of the City. It was easy for us to find. Driver was friendly. Audio was clear.
Whoever invented hop on hop off. Was or is a genius.. It's the best way to visit a city. Especially if you take te 48 hours, you visit te first day and the second day you hop off where on your points of interest..
Easy on and off able to see city from double deck bus............................. . ...............
There was very little commentary. Too much dead airtime as we passed by areas. The commentary didn’t match the areas we drove by most of the time. We rode by areas so fast you could barely get a picture. I purchased the green line ticket online. I didn’t realize it was for one line. I was able to upgrade for 5 Euros in person to be able to ride both the green and orange line. The driver rode past the stops. You don’t really know what is available at the stops.
By comparison to 24h pass on public transport:- When hopped off can only hop back on same bus company and only at designated stops, compared to any bus/tram/underground. Although 24hr for ticket will continue next day, only after 10am, so lot of potential use missed. Sightseeing bus far more expensive, possibly 2 or 4 times. Also:- If decide to hop off may have only seconds to do so after seeing something of interest. If see something to photograph, usually through dirty or scratched glass, possibly on other sude of bus, and while moving and without option to choose best shot, ie always just holiday snaps. Commentary not always clear and cannot be repeated if not heard.
Read as much comments as you can and ... AVOID this tour! It will be too late after paying money to get anything in return... and their management apologies cost them NOTHING compare to your hard earned EURO!
Very impressed with the tour. I did see reviews for people saying they couldn’t find the main bus area, but it was exactly at the pickup address provided and the bus was VERY visible. The tour was very enjoyable and had a lot of information. We enjoyed it greatly! Recommend doing the full rounds and then ID where you want to to go. Drivers were nice. Overall an A+
The tour was interesting but the instructions where to meet were difficult. It also would have been nice to know the schedule of when the tours leave from beginning point and how often.
The buses did not run on time. In most cases, it would have at least half-an hour to an hour late (in place of every 15 minutes). I wanted to visit a couple of more places but lost time by the bus delay, at my last stop i waited 50 minutes (just standing on my feet), got tired, and finally gave up on it (I mainly used the orange colour one). Finally, I gave up my test of the visit plans and took a taxi to my hotel.
It is harder to find this Hop On/Off than the red busses. The only thing I would change is the bus driver’s professionalism. We arrived at the bus and I showed the driver my QR code and he kept yelling “Scan! Scan! and pointing down the street. He finally walked us to another bus which was empty of passengers but filled with junk and a young man sitting in the front with a device to scan our code and issue a paper ticket. Viator might want to teach this guy a few more English words like “Go to that bus, scan and come back.” He came across rude and obnoxious. Read less
Booked on line. Got to downtown Munich, couldn’t find it. Asked around. Nobody knew. Competitors tried to contact for me and couldn’t. Address was a vacant building. Watch out!
We had a great start to our Munich trip by jumping on the Munich City Hop-on Hop-off Tour. We did the short round town trip then stayed on for the longer journey. It was best for giving us good context for our Munich stay and discover what to see in detail. The bus was clean and tidy, hats off to the driver, navigating through the tricky streets of Munich. We recommend the Gray Line Münchener - Munich City Hop-on Hop-off Tour.
It was convenient to have a bus pass to get around to some of the bigger sites in Munich-- I think the round-trip transportation from the train station area to Nymphenburg Palace alone was probably enough for me to justify the hefty price tag. But be aware there are only 7 stops on the green line-- not like 20+ as in a big city like London. The orange line is good if you want to go to the palace or the Olympic Park and would rather skip the subway and avoid going the taxi or ride share route. But it also only has 4 stops. I saw lots of reviews saying the audio wasn't synced up- I didn't have an issue with that. The drivers are friendly, the buses are easy to spot (once you realize some say Gray Line and some say Big Bus, but it's all the same thing now) and I like that the app shows you where the buses are on the route.
Was a quick and easy way to get an overview of Munich and its history and exciting attractions - thanks for the great experience!!
The tour is a great overview of the city highlights. We learned so much about Munich. We want to return to Munich soon
The route was fine but there could have been more commentary, especially at the beginning. More about the history of Munich and the buildings early in the route. The online map was helpful when we got off at one stop and wanted to get back on at a different stop.
There is up to 20 minutes waiting time at the first stop. The audio tour did not start for us right away. Helps see a lot in a short period of time.
Busses are few and far between and the final bus driver was was rude about tickets and was very impatient when we had to get them out. He didn’t stop at the stop more than 2 minutes. When we got to the transfer station the bus driver was such a bad driver that he slammed on the breaks and threw my wife and another gentlemen from their seat into the aisle. Not only was the driver rude and inconsiderate, he also almost caused injury to his passengers. You need to do better. If the office wasn’t closed when we arrived I would have demanded a refund. This is not acceptable. This company needs to be reviewed and check for safety concerns. Do not use this company. There are other busses that have better option, and I would book through them. I am hoping someone from the company reaches out because this was a terrible and scary experience for my family especially my two children.
There are very few buses on the orange line to continue your tour. Waiting one hour between buses is unacceptable. Our last driver was rudei O patient and a rough driver. Probably tired but no excite. He demanded front door. Well.. the first driver opened the middle door so we went in the same way. Don’t waste your money. Very sparse commentary on the ride. Use another service.
Nice service, similar to any other Hop On Hop off. We took the Green Line (City) route. Efficient although a little slow. Overall a fair experience.
Do NOT recommend this Hop on Hop off with grey line. Try a their competitors instead. We normally have great experiences with Hop on Hop offs. In Munich, hard to locate the hop on/off spots. The drivers were very unfriendly and unhelpful. They seem to hate their jobs. Only user friendly part of this experience was the lady on the recorded version of the tour. Don’t waste your money on the Grey Line Hop On Hop Off!
during our recent visit to Munich, we used the hop-on-hop off for two days. It was good and covered all important landmarks. Frequency could have been better.
The trip gave good quick overview of Munich BUT the commentary was significantly lacking. In most cases, the descriptors were for something we already passed or were for something we did not see. Unlike many hop on hop off tours we have been on, instead of interesting facts or stories about the city, there was also much dead air.
The driver was very attentive and helpful as we tried to follow along with the map. The weather was fantastic which made sitting on the upper deck fun. The low points of the trip were that the narration did not always follow along with where we were going and we were often not able to figure out where we should look. The traffic was terrible which made the trip extra lengthy and created a lull in the narration.
Its your basic hop on/hop off bus. I don't think it was necessarily worth the price- some of the stops were difficult to find.
The audio did not match the sites we were seeing. It seemed as if the driver was either ahead of or behind the sequence of the audio.
Not great. Driver slammed on his brakes a few times throwing our personal items down the aisle. No apology given. One time was a really hard break. Not enjoyable. Audio did not match up with what we were driving by. Would not do again nor recommend.
Not much shown on tour. The audio didn’t coincide with where the bus was located. Pretty much not very good.
We took the 48 hr ticket on May 5 and 6. The 5th we did the outer tour. One driver was very nice and helpful, and the third skipped a stop, and when we complained he said no one rang the stop bell. That was where we wanted to get off. Since it was the last stop, he drove back to start. We got off since he insisted to clear the bus. We did not continue since it was raining and would be so long. In total, we had 6 drivers in the 2 days, and 3 were very unfriendly, and 1 very nice, and 2 neutral. I cannot recommend this trip.
Sometimes the info is given as you are already past the site. We rode the bus a second time and understood a lot more about the sites.
It is ok to get around. But their bus tracking and wifi doesn’t work- also thru city areas driver going 40km/hr in 30 zone- not great for actually seeing or taking pictures or the tour matching the scenery.
This tour was just okay. Couldn't hear the audio guide on the bus as some of the audio jacks didn't work. Map was a bit unclear on which stops would pick us up and when. One bus drove right by us without stopping, so we ended up at a stop for 45 minutes. At the end of the day, we got to go around some areas of the city that we probably wouldn't have otherwise, but seeing as other bus lines are free, I would probably just hop on those next time.
We have done many of these hop-on hop-off tours in major cities over recent years. We typically do these on our arrival day to get the lay of the land. This was the worst —which is really saying something. The drivers and staff were incredibly difficult. We bought our Grand Tour tickets online but then multiple drivers told us they didn’t know of the Grand Tour and we were gruffly instructed to pick one route or the other. Once we received a brochure, we could see that the Grand Tour included the two regular routes but the original online booking site didn’t refer to it that way. We also noticed significant discrepancies between the audio and what we were seeing. One positive is the audio connection points on the back of the seats worked well. We could hear the tour recording easily. Munich is a fascinating city. We were just very disappointed in this travel product.
Maybe it was the time of year (middle of March), but we expected the bus to run frequently. The green route was once every 30 minutes and the orange outer route was hourly. This made it challenging to hop off and on during 10am-4pm operating hours (last bus leaves the starting mark at 4pm at Karls). The drivers did an amazing job navigating around town on narrow turns. The audio tours provided good historical information, but were not very in depth. Typical experience with hop on/off that they help you get the lay of the land and a chance to see areas that it may be more challenging to travel to.
great! very friendly bus drivers and informative tour. I enjoyed every stop and the bus always arrived as scheduled.
It was an OK way to know the city with limited time. I would rather to have more information about the different stops to make them more enjoyable.
Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great
This is a bucket list tour for sure! Highly recommend. Ursula was our guide and was excellent. So knowledgeable about every detail along the way and very personable
The route we took was great and we got to see some really lovely buildings, however the route 1-7 at 1pm driver was really agressive on the road, ran through red lights, yelling at pedestrians and just making the passengers feel unsafe.
Learning the history of the area and seeing the beautiful architecture! A great way to see the city when you have a short amount of time.
I actually really enjoyed this tour. Very informative, not too long, time to get off and explore. Overall I thought it was a great way to view the beautiful city of Munich.
Hop on hop off bus is always to see and city attractions. Drivers are professional and courteous. The only problem in Munich and Berlin is the waiting time for buses at designated stops.
This was great. Too bad we arrived in Munich on this tour date and got there late so we weren’t able to hop on and off, but we were able to drive around and see everything.
Ear phones was not in individually sealed packet is the only reason for not giving a 5 star rating. Otherwise it was a very good tour of the city. Buses are very, very clean and comfortable
Our flight was delayed so we could not make the tour Wanted to change the date without loosing our money Would not do it
It was abruptly cancelled by the service provider. Very bad experience. Never expected this from BIG BUS
