Great way to see the city but the idea of 'hop on hop off' is misleading with very limited bus times and minimal stop points..... We hadnt realised that the last bus was at 4.30pm after purcgasing out tickets at 12.30pm. Buses only every 2 hours on the purple line gave little time to disemvark, explore and get back on the bus.

There are three routes running all day but we never got to take the third bus. We ended up walking to the English Gardens instead. Good tour with a lot of history.
Big Red Bus Tours are excellent to move around a city and get off at some sites while staying on the Bus to continue touring. I did this one solo but have also enjoyed the Bus approach with family. Often more than one route is offered, so well worth a 24 hour or longer pass to see where you might like to explore further with friends and family even on another trip. You can also use your phone for real time live location of your bus, other busses in the system and other sites.
Very disappointing: Tracking App does not work as it should, bus schedule is just an idea. Worst experience was, that bus did stop only for secondsn on stachus...on an unexpected place in second row behind taxis - but not at the free space on then bus station!!! From my point it is absolutely necessary to hop on only at Hauptbahnhof-all other points are risky...
Great relaxing way to see some of the main sites in Munich. The audio guide provided great information on all the sites. We booked the option for a ticket for both bus routes (I think Green and Orange). After we completed the green trip we were directed by one of the operators to the wrong bus for the orange trip, and did not have time to get back to the starting location.
Every thing as expected. Clean and available.
Great experience learned a lot it was very enjoyable house by dbsbcishdhffheudufneufjrfjjjhhhhhhhhhh
We decided to use the HOHO bus as it was a drizzle day and it enabled us to see and learn about a lot of Munich without getting soaked! Very informative audio guides and opportunities to get off at points of interest. Great that the 24h ticket covers all three routes enabling you to see a large selection of sites.
Great experience on our hop on / hop off tour of Munich. We bought 2-day passes for my wife and I. Ticket redemption and tour departure point were easy to find. Routes and schedules were clear on the provided maps. The supplied earbuds were fine, language and volume controls on the busses were clear and easy to use. Provided a good overview of the city and was a convenient way to reach a few locations that were further than we were willing to walk. Would absolutely do this again.
Very informative. On time. Has nice music between sites. Get 2 day pass.
Bus drivers need to be less aggressive with starting & stopping. There was an altercation with cyclist and tailgating cars while tapping the brakes was frequent. Was getting severe motion sickness from this experience from 2 different routes. It's clear these drivers are sick of driving these buses.
I’ve been on several others in other countries. They were much better. The audio was not in sync with ride. It was either farther ahead or behind. Pretty unuseful. The audio was boring as well.
We were late to cacht the last bus at the pickup point so we couldn’t do the tour, we called the tour guy no answer so we chat with an agent over text and he says that he was going to send them an email so we are waiting to see if we can use the tickets today since our morning flight was canceled
This was a great way to get around Munich, see the main sites, and get an idea of the layout of the city - it also takes you to some of the more out of the way sites. The buses were frequent - though the Blue line is only once per hour, whereas the other two are every 30 minutes. The buses were frequent and well maintained. As some other customers have noted, there is a tendency to be kicked off the bus at Stop 1 as it changes the route. I can understand why this happens (to keep the service regulated) but annoying to anyone who got on halfway through. For this reason, I would advise getting on the tour at Stop 1 which is close to the central train station and then you can ensure you do the full loop without interruption. I would also ask at the time of booking if there are any planned road closures - can happen at weekends in particular. We had a bit of a detour from one day to the next, but it didn't spoil anything. The staff and drivers were all really friendly and helpful, and I got the impression this was the sightseeing service with the most buses in Munich, so worth going with them.
On the tour in Munich, Germany, It was easy changing buses to switch routes. Information was well presented and easy to hear on the English channel.
The only thing you have to check are the departure time if you do the 3 lines one after the other. You may have to waite between.
Nice way to see the city and hear some history.
We've done several of these type of tours and this was very basic. The check in driver had this “dont care” attitude and there was no interaction. In short, once you check in they give you disposable earbuds and you plug it into the seat, select your language and everything was automated. The pre-recorded narrator had a strong accent which was difficult to understand especially with the outside noise. Also, there are 3 different lines that go to different areas of the city. We started on the Red line and once it ended everyone got off expecting to change busses for a different line but it was the same bus so we had to reboard the same bus. A simple advisal from the driver would have save about 25 couples from getting off and back on. We were not impressed but it burned time. Wouldn’t recommend.
What a great way to see the city and get off at sites you want to check out. I highly recommend this.
Great way to see some sights in Munich. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Buses were clean & stayed on schedule. Would highly recommend.
Worth to book all 3 routes if you have time. The only thing, make sure you find out ahead of time if you jump off when they are picking up at the spot again. Our driver said next bus was in 30 minutes and it was actually an hour. That is why gave it 4 stars vs 5. It was a great way to see the city.
We have had very good experiences using Hop on/Hop off bus in multiple cities. This particular experience was disappointing because the buses did not arrive at the times we had been told (60 minutes instead of 30) and the recording was not updated to reflect the fact that the Olympic Tower in the Olympic Village site of 1972 Olympics is closed and will be for a year! We had hoped to be able to go to the top for panoramic views. Otherwise this was a good way to see the highlights of the city.
Great experience, I highly recommend it to everyone to enjoy the beautiful highlights of the city. The atmosphere was amazing.
I must say this was an amazing experience. We did the SkyLift in Munich Germany, during Oktoberfest and you could see for miles. The view was absolutely incredible. Would definitely ride agian… oh and you must do the top. It’s windy… but it’s the BEST VIEW!!!
Easy to find the bus and the tour was very informative , bringing you to all of the desirable destinations in Munich. Did all 3 routes and the headphones worked perfectly. Would recommend this excursion.
There are 2 big items. They do not have a real sytem to notify cutomers of delays even at their main stop. Also the office staff was a bit dimissive. One agent told some folks to wait for their bus on the front of the bus line ..Then rhe bus came in at the back othe lone and she made no attempt tp get them if ot had not been for another passenger they would have stood there for another hour. Also there are no toilets at tje main office you have to go down the block and across the street. That is tougj the the majority of their elderly clientel.
In almost any city where we are staying for a few days, we take a Hop on Hop off service to orient ourselves. Normally, they have extensive routes that cover most important sites. This one has split itself into three separate 'routes', each with a separate charge. Now if each route had ten or more stops, that might be acceptable, but we signed up for their 'triple' ticket to find that each route was quite short. They could easily combine all three, and make it far easier to "hop off" and then get to the next interesting stop. With three separate routes, it was hard to plan a day's site seeing, since you had to get back to a transfer stop to get the next ride. The detail of the pre-recorded guide was good, but it was sometimes out of synch with the stops, and on the red line we found they'd included stops not on the published schedule, perhaps because of a major event in town. But really, if they had to do that, they should also have added those stops to the audio guide, or had the bus driver announce the changes. Our favorite operators always announce the stop number as well as the name of the stop, making it easy to track where you are on the map. This one doesn't include the stop numbers, making it harder to decide where you want to be by looking at the map. It was not awful, but it was FAR from the best we've taken. There is a second company operating in town - the Big Bus from Greyhound. Next time we visit Munich, we'll try that one.
Great way to see all of Munich with 3 different bus routes. Bus audio guide was very informative. A very enjoyable experience
It was a beautiful day I saw and learned alot. Very informational. I did all 3 lines red, blue and purple
Very deceptive description and only allows the use of 1 bus not the usual choice of routes, which is the whole point ! The online price was at least £10 more than you buy when you get on !! Absolute daylight robbery
Really good experience Friendly people and the bus host JASMIN helped us a lot…..we are very happy
The bus was clean and pleasant. The recorded tour was mediocre. A statement would be made and then no follow up clarification. For example, this is a park honouring Shakespeare . Why not tell us why the name changed? Why was Shakespeare chosen? Not really informative or engaging! Anecdotes and funny stories would be much more interesting. I nearly fell asleep. 5 people in my group and we all thought this was a problem.
There are 3 buses going to different locations and they’re all included in one price. It was a very nice tour and the staff were great.
Was handy to have. We did all 3 tours in the one day and stayed on for the whole round trip to get our bearings and work out where we wanted to go back to. There was quite a bit of waiting around for the busses, they seems to advertise some as every 15 mins or so but they definitely weren't that. Sometimes when the blue line finishes its route it then changes to the purple line. But having said that busses were very comfortable, staff were helpful but just be prepared to wait a bit longer than you think. We used the 2nd day to go back to the places we wanted to see again.
Boring. I expected to be shown the main sights in Munich. I am not interested in history of archtects snd ownership of beautiful buildings. I had to go in search of the real sights of Munich. Point out what we are sering. Dont give irrrelevent history. Atotal waste of money and time.
Worked great for us .The main departure point was close to our hotel. Rode up top on a gorgeous day. Hopped on & off several places!
First bus driver quite rude when we got on, I showed him our ticket and he didn’t say anything other than nodded to the headphones and laughed. Earphones only worked in one ear. Had to get off one bus at train station to join another one for the rest of the tour. The driver was very pleasant and cheerful. Tour was interesting and architecture was beautiful.
We had a great experience exploring the city. It was very convenient to visit major attractions. The bus was comfortable, the staff were friendly, and the audio commentary was informative.
Great way to get around the city. We bkd 2 days so got to where we needed to each day.
These folks are on point. Zero issues. Highly recommend. They make it so easy to navigate the process.
The worst City Sightseeing experience we have had in any city around the world. Maps totally inadequate, nothing to tell you which stop to use for any sights you might want to visit. Shambolic scenes at the station where the buses randomly changed routes (colours) and passengers had to disembark and wait not knowing which bus to board next.
A great tour with 3 lines. Just need to be attentive with the lines written in small letters by the side. The only thing I didn't like was that we had to go to the main departure station in order to exchange our on-ine tickets. Moreover, when we went to the Olympic stadium, the audioguide told us that we could visit Olympischerturm and we hopped off for visiting the tower. However, it was closed. We awaited at least a driver's announcement for these changes instead of losing 1 hour of our time.
The hop on hop off tour is a great introduction to a city and gives you an idea of what can be explored more extensively. Munich tours offered concise commentary on multiple neighborhoods in multiple languages. This helped us to plan for subsequent days in the city.
I travel a great deal and have done many hop on hop tours. They usually offer a great deal of information and are a great way to see/learn lot in a short time. This is the worst tour I have ever taken - almost no information ( the audio guide was silent a great portion of the drive). When they did offer information, it was usually “this is the x building” and no more. Do not waste your time or money.
Tour is fantastic, short enough to do both routes in under 2 hours and highly recommend as one of the first activities to complete upon arrival to Munich. Plenty of places are visited and the commentary provides some context as to what is around when passing through various parts of the city. Busses are ran efficiently, keep tabs on the schedules and you should be able to run both routes back to back without a problem. Easily an excellent starting point to get your bearings in the city if a first time visitor and the guides are available to answer questions and provide recommendations about different things to do at stops or near the starting point.
Excellent. Easy to find. On time. Clear stop points.
I feel sorry, the background-Musical is not bavarien style - this would be mich more nicer!
Can do 3 different tours. Our timing at Marienplatz worked out very well to se a Glockenspiel performance
Great ride. We purchased 3 rides for 24 hours. Bargain. Got to see things and want to see stops in detail
Great way to see the city and learn about its history. A good thing to do early in the trip so you can get a good sense of the overall vibe and layout.
