Itinerary
Meet your qualified guide on the Marienplatz. The guide will provide a small briefing on how the tour will run.
Make a transfer from train to the bus, the bus follows the route the prisoners were forced to march. The train station itself is the original and a majority of prisoners would have arrived there before marching to the camp.
While visiting the Dachau Memorial Site you will learn why the camp opened and who were the first prisoners to arrive. You'll also hear about the camp's evolution, development and SS training facilities, as well as the registration, categorization and treatment of prisoners. See the Jourhaus, the entrance building and gateway into the camp, the roll call square Appellplatz, and Memorial Site Museum in the former maintenance building. Listen to your guide telling you about the barracks, prisoner life and daily routine, camp perimeter fence and guard towers, the International Memorial, Nandor Glid Sculpture, religious memorials and Barrack X, the two crematoriums, mass graves, and the gas chamber.
After the tour of the Dahchau Memorial Site the tour will return you to the start location on Marienplatz.

Adam made this emotional tour exceptional with his expertise and knowledge of the subject matter. He added extra dimension to what happened there as well as a comprehensive history lesson. Remarkable experience with him.
Marcin was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable . It was a great experience and to and from on train was very easy.
Aileen was a wonderful and very knowledgeable guide, I really enjoyed learning from her. Very well organised trip. The only downside was we had to rush through some areas.
Well organized! 25 in our group. Had some hearing issues inside when there were multiple tours around us but our guide did a great job huddling us into a corner. Even though we spent 4 hours there, one could easily spend the whole day there if youre a real history buff. Lots to see and read.
Interesting and sobering visit. We had an extremely knowledgeable and passionate guide named Tom. Gave incredible background about Dachau. Truly made this visit a memorable one.
An amazing experience. Adam our guide was so knowledgable and incitful. We could have easily spent more time here but what we saw and learnt was extremely memorable. Such an important part of history must be told.
The visit to Dachau was an incredibly meaningful experience. Markus was an excellent guide, explaining the historical context with great empathy and sensitivity. He made sure everyone understood not only what happened, but also the events and circumstances that led to these horrific events. He took his time to explain, listen to our questions and answer each one of them. It was a powerful and moving experience, and a reminder of why it is so important to learn from history to ensure it never happens again. I highly recommend this tour, and Markus was truly outstanding.
While we were able to be there and learn of Dachau our guide was average, gave us basic info and that was it. Nothing extra. We have knowledge of WWII.
Marcus, our guide, was exceptionally informative and helpful with the transit to the Dachau site (trains, bus, walking). Be prepared to spend most of the day. Sobering, but so important to visit these sites to honor those lost. Eat a good breakfast as snacking not acceptable at the memorial. Lots of walking—12k+ steps!
Tom was an excellent and knowledgable guide who gave really good historical details to help our understanding of the origins and legacies of Dachau
Really good tour. Our guide, Marcin, was fabulous. 17 years doing this tour. Very detailed and informative, in the appropriate amounts. Highly recommend this tour.
Truly a fascinating, eye opening and sobering experience. It is clearly evident that Marcin has dedicated his life to being able to give this tour properly and educationally. He is extremely knowledgeable and brings everything together with a purpose. Transportation was seamless. Highly recommend if in Munich area.
This is an excellent tour. The tour guide, Marcin, is overflowing with knowledge about Dachau. It was exhausting to learn so much in one day.
Don’t bring children unless they can be patience and respectful. A good amount of walking, but worth your time. A guide brought so much to the experience for me. I think have a guide on the tour made all the difference to answer questions and explain the exhibits rather than just read about it.
Alein was fantastic! Enjoyed learning the history of Dachau, although very somber. Train/bus transportation from Munich worked out perfectly.
Very interesting to be actually there! Our guide Hein was good..explained the events and historical background wonderfully. Got to see everything in the infamous Dachau camp. A good memorial to relive the pain of the victims. Good tour.
A somber topic made informational and meaningful by an excellent guide (Tom). Easy transit, smaller group, and worth the price.
It was truly knowledgeable and as uncomfortable as it can be to visit and do this kind of tour, I thought it was an extremely important tour and I got to learn a lot. Very knowledgeable and was exactly so much of the history so thank you.
Very informative experience. Hein was very knowledgeable and provided helpful background information, while skillful navigating issues and delays with the train. Unfortunately the train issues cut into our time so we had to rush a lot of the experience.
Simon was a great guide for this tour. He was super informative and explained things in an easy to understand way. He was happy to answer any questions we had as well.
It was an eye opener seeing these things that I had only read about. I feel privileged being able to re-visit the past. It was interesting that we took public transport to see there.
An excellent experience with incredibly knowledgeable and passionate guide Adam. You will not be disappointed if you are looking for Holocaust awareness and understanding.
Our tour guide, Simon was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Dachau. Since he shared so much information along with stories and quotes from prisoners you could really picture how dismal and tragic life was for the prisoners. He moved us along, but we never felt rushed.
Our tour of Dachau Concentration Camp with Sam was an incredibly sobering and heart-wrenching experience, and Sam was an exceptional guide. He brought an extraordinary depth of knowledge to the tour while presenting the history with compassion, respect, and sensitivity. Sam did an outstanding job of helping us understand not only the historical events that took place at Dachau, but also the human stories behind them. His thoughtful explanations and wealth of information gave us a much deeper understanding of the immense suffering and loss that occurred there. This was a difficult tour emotionally, but Sam guided us through it with great care and professionalism. His ability to share such painful history in a respectful and meaningful way made the experience incredibly powerful. We are very grateful to Sam for sharing his knowledge and helping us better understand and remember this important part of history. We would highly recommend Sam to anyone visiting Dachau. This is a tour we will never forget.
Very moving experience, be ready for the weight of this experience. Historically important and a very emotional experience.
Our tour guide Adam was very knowledgeable. An excellent tour about a very serious subject. We must continue to learn from our past…
It was informative and our guide was very knowledgeable however we had a lot of difficulty hearing him. It was a very big group. Headphones would've been really good for this.
enjoyed the tour very informative
Our guide, Tom, was extremely knowledgeable of the history and very helpful! Thanks Tom!!!!!!!! !!!!
Tony was great! He was very informative
It was such a sobering experience. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and kept our attention explaining what everything was and how it affected people.
Booked the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site tour through InMunich Tours and it was an outstanding experience. Our guide, Adam, struck exactly the right balance — deeply informative and historically thorough, but handled with the sensitivity a site like this demands. He walked us through the full arc of the history, from the political collapse that enabled the Nazis' rise to the mechanics of the camp system itself, and answered every question we had with real depth and patience. A genuinely well-run tour from start to finish — highly recommend to anyone visiting Munich who wants to actually understand this history, not just walk through it. Five stars.
It is a somber day. Will be on your feet for a minimum of 4 hours, but well worth it! Our guide,Keith, was phenomenal! So much knowledge
This tour was informative and very easy from start to finish thanks to Adam. I highly recommend this tour. The content was hard to take in, but necessary for everyone to experience. Adam was full of so much info. Great tour.

This is a historical tour of the camp. Our guide’s knowledge was remarkable. To be able to step into history like this was something I will always remember. I recommend everyone who has a chance to take the opportunity.
Great guide in Tom. Knowledgeable, fun and very helpful. Gave a lot of insight, stressed the importance of the history of what occurred
It was a great experience and the guide was very knowledgeable. It was a great day with a train and bus trip and covered the entire camp.
So informative. Our guide was sooo knowledgeable. He was great with the group and spent time answering everyone’s questions.
What an experience! Our guide was super informative. Really a must if you are in Munich. Travel to and from Marienplatz made it very convenient👌🏻
Fantastic guide. Adam was very knowledgeable and really captured the inhumanity of it all. You only get 45 minutes to self-tour which isn't alot of time to experience the hallowed grounds. Also, leave extra time on your schedule in case trains cancel and/or get delayed.
What an amazing tour with Keith. He is so knowledgeable about the history of what took place. Be prepared to stand all day. It’s a short train ride then a short bus ride to the venue. There’s also limited bathroom stops.. So prepare with good shoes, knees and back.
Keith was amazing and we learnt so much about the camp. We would definitely recommend this tour with Keith. The knowledge he has about this period in time is amazing
This tour is a MUST! Our guide, Tom, was very knowledgeable and gave us plenty of information. Meeting was easy, transportation was easy. We both highly recommend booking this one.
Lots of stagnant standing, very amazing experience. Marcin has such deep knowledge of these camps and the history behind many of them. He told us in the beginning a 4-hour tour is not enough to grasp the history of even Dachu, let alone the entire system of Dachu. Very amazing experience with a great and passionate guide.
What a great experience and our guide Marcin was amazing. So glad we had him as our guide today. Would recommend to anyone to go tour the concentration camps. The more we learn the less likely we are to ever repeat these atrocities.
Marcin was an exceptional guide—extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and deeply passionate about this difficult subject. He gave us a more in-depth understanding of the rise of the Third Reich and how such unimaginable cruelty and atrocities came to happen. His thoughtful and sensitive approach made the Dachau Memorial Site tour both deeply moving and educational. Tours like this are essential to remembering the past and helping ensure that such atrocities are never allowed to happen again. Thanks you Marcin. Highly recommend this tour.
One of the best tours i have ever done, and ive done quite a few. The biggest reason for this was my guide, Samuel. He is by far the best guide I have ever had. His depth of knowledge was astounding.
Adam was our guide. The tour was very well done. We learned a lot about what happened at Dachau. Adam struck the perfect tone. He talked about what happened, both the horrific and a few inspiring stories of survival. We learned some about the town of Dachau and the struggles after the war over what to do with the camp. A very worthwhile tour.
