While Dachau was a “model” concentration camp it was a brutal, evil camp so the tour was a sober reminder of the atrocities committed by Hitler’s Germany. James did an excellent job explaining the camp system, not sugarcoating the crimes committed there. A worthwhile visit. Never forget.
Your guide takes you by train and bus to Dachau and back. Although there is a lot to see with little time, our guide, Scott, did an excellent job of sharing the most pertinent information. It is a very sobering tour and one that everyone should experience. I highly recommend it.

The tour was very interesting. A horrible time and at times very sad. We met a liberating veteran in attendance, made the wife's cry. The guide was very knowledgeable. It is a must go.
Clear instructions on meeting location. Also the guide made a great effort to keep us all together when boarding the “train” (metro or subway) and later the local bus. Very sad and sobering tour, however, very educational and worthwhile. Along with water, bring tissues. Frightening how this history came to pass.

James was an amazing tour guide for this trip. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history and the events that occurred in this timeframe. What impressed me the most his respect for the victims and the atrocities that they experienced. You could tell he really cared about what he was doing, and helping people understand the magnitude of their experiences. I appreciated that he never referred to them as prisoners, but as victims. He was very good with communication and telling us what would come next we found this to be a very, very good tour.

We are so glad we booked this tour! Although we knew we didn’t want to miss touring Dachau camp, there is no way we could have understood everything we saw. The guide did an A++ job of explaining the historical events associated with this location plus the network of camps and relevant time lines. So many small and interesting facts were shared which enriched our tour greatly. James also managed time and people very efficiently allowing us to complete every area. It was so nice to have an escort for trains and buses - one less thing for us to navigate or figure out.
We booked the small group guided tour to the Dachau Memorial Site . We easily met our guide James in the Marienplatz and he navigated us through the train and bus systems to Dachau. James was extremely knowledgeable and provided us with the history and stories of this very powerful place. We were left greatly moved by the experience and would highly recommend to all

Absolutely fantastic experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable of the story of the camp as well as the German history up to and through the World War. He managed the group well and kept everyone engaged. He shared stories and took questions from the group throughout the entire tour.
