Wrap up warm!!, around half the visit onsite is outside. There is a café for hot drinks and food but it’s at the beginning and end. No eating/drinking in the camp itself. Our guide Jessie was very knowledgeable and easy to understand, especially with her amplification system. It’s a very sobering experience but something everyone should do. Thank you Jessie 👍🏻❤️

Itinerary
On this tour we escort you to the site by public transport. Our fully trained guide will take you round all areas of the memorial site, giving you an insight into the suffering of the prisoners and relating the story of the concentration camp system to historical developments during the time of the National Socialist regime. We guide you round the cells, barracks and gas chamber and explain the meaning behind the pictures and exhibits in the museum with thought-provoking accounts of prisoners’ own experiences, from the setting up of the camp until their liberation by US-forces in 1945. There is a 22 minute documentary film in English, although we stress that this is deemed unsuitable for children underv 13 years old

This was a wonderful, eye-opening glimpse into the history of what human beings are capable of doing to each other. The history can never be forgotten.
Our guide Mat was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions thoroughly. Would definitely recommend this guide to anyone.
Very informational. Mat did a great job explaining things. It’s a lot of information for a short time. May make the transportation portion seem less and made sure we knew when to get off and on the train and bus.
A Very knowledgeable guide who had to deal with difficult transport issues. He was very patient and getting 20 people on public transport to Dachau was a challenge. Thanks to him we all are more aware of Dachau’s history. Thank you to him. (I am sorry I forgot his name )
Aileen was an excellent guide ensuring the entire group was on the train, then the bus and with her the entire time. She was super knowledgable and highlighted the key points at the museum. There is sooo much there to read and see, it was nice to have Aileen summarize it for us . She also gave small bits of free time to explore but kept us on time.
Mat was a fabulous guide. Personable as well as incredibly knowledgeable. He made a very sobering outing educational as well as allowing opportunity for reflection. One thing that may be noted: 90% of the tour is outside and 85% of it is walking or standing. Appropriate outdoor gear and walking shoes of some kind are a must. The cold/windy temperatures and all the unexpected time on our feet are the only things that took away from our experience.
Mat was an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable. The experience was somber but so interesting. Highly recommend to Munich visitors and history lovers as a way to remember the past so we never repeat anything like this again.
Very organized and informational tour. Michael was great and super knowledgeable! Would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to learn about Dachau.
Our tour was cancelled due to the tour guide being sick and a replacement couldn’t be found! We were didappointed.
Aileen was an excellent tour guide, she was so knowledgable and also dealt with the subject matter very sensitively. I learnt a tremendous amount from the tour, definitely significantly more than I would have done if I had just gone to the site without a guide.
Had a wonderful experience our guide was so knowledgeable and answered all our questions took the time to explain everything thoroughly. In other words Aileen was awesome.
We had an informative and well organized tour led by Aileen. She was very knowledgeable and pleasant. We would highly recommend this tour to others.
Great in depth tour that had everything planned out great. It included a round trip ride to the site and an experienced tour guide that answered any questions. Aileen has been a awesome guide and I will do again!
A must do! Lots of history even though it is very emotional.
Our Guide Aileen Coulson was fantastic. She knew the details of Dachau in depth. People asked questions and she was able to answer them without hesitation. It was a very informative day.
Michael was a exceptionnel guide we learned so much about Dachau and the German history. I totally recommend Michael has a guide
Jessie was out tour guide and she was very passionate about the concentration camp. Very informative.!
The guide, Jessi, was very knowledgeable about the history of the camp, the activities that led to the creation of the camps and the people involved in setting up and running the camps. She gave lots of time for questions, tried to keep the entire tour involved.
Alex was very knowledgeable and respectful of the sensitive issues. It was a heavy subject but so important to see and remember. It’s hard to say I enjoyed it because of the place but I enjoyed the learning. Thank you to Alex.
For me, booking a tour is usually done for convenience of travel and this is anything but convenient. It requires travelling to the meeting point, jumping on a train and then a bus. The guide was knowledgeable but so is an audioguide and there are English translations for everything. If Dachau is on your list of places to visit it can be done on your own.
Our tour guide Alex was phenomenal. He not only had a wealth of knowledge but also welcomed questions and an interactive tour making everyone feel comfortable. There is quite a bit of standing and walking but well worth the experience. Be ready to have a somber, emotional experience and learn about the history of Dachau, its origin and its final collapse at the end of WWII.
Excellent guide. Fairly large group that he took on the U and then a short public bus to Dachau, it all went very smoothly. Knowledgeable and personable guide
We had Carlotta run this tour. She was a thoughtful guide - knew how to read the group and had just enough wit to keep the tour as light as possible visiting such a place. She really was one of the best guides we’ve had! Bravo Carlotta!
A worthwhile experience if you are visiting Munich. Meeting downtown and having our guide lead us through the train & bus process to get there made it super easy and affordable. Our guide, Charlotte, was wonderful—extremely knowledgeable and presented info clearly and thoughtfully.
Was easy to find our very knowledgeable guide. Have taken the tour before without a guide and it was very worth in to do to tour with a guide. You want to make sure the guide will go in with you, as some companies leave out that detail. This company did not.
Very informative and well thought out tour. Our guide Michael was fantastic, would highly recommend.
Aileen was an incredibly talented and detailed tour guide! So accommodating, passionate about what she shared with group! Incredibly moving experience- request Aileen you won’t be disappointed.
Dachau, is worth seeing as we should never forget what Hitler's regime did and what this kind of racism and reducing humans to animals. The trip from Munich is short and easy, the bus from train to camp is also an easy connection. The site is reasonably well maintained. Lots of information to consume. Do not recommend going in the heat of summer.
Michael was a great tour guide. He quickly got us on alternate transport due to shutdown of part of public transport that morning. He was an excellent educator and you could tell he was passionate about sharing this sad part of history so we do not forget.
Informative, moved at a good pace, appropriately timed stops, comfortable conversation and respectful
Our tour guide Carlata was excellent. Here depth of knowledge and sensitivity to the subject matter were spot on. Learned a great deal on this visit.
Our tour of the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site was an incredibly moving experience, made even more meaningful by our guide, Thomas Kurtz. Thomas was extremely knowledgeable and the tour was very well organized. He not only explained the history of what happened at Dachau, but also provided invaluable context about the rise of the Nazis and the origins of the Holocaust. His stories about individual prisoners made the history feel especially personal and compelling. What I appreciated most, though, were Thomas’ thoughts about the lessons we should take from what happened there and why they still matter today. It was a heavy and emotional day, but an experience I believe everyone should have to better understand the horrors that took place at Dachau and the importance of remembering them.
Alex was a very animated, sincere, and knowledgeable tour guide. His genuine interest in each and every participant during the tour was commendable. His expressive tones were noteworthy.
Thomas was an excellent guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. His steady temperament was comforting.
Michael was very good and informative it's a sobering place to go but everyone should well worth it.
Our tour guide was great and very knowledgeable and the camp itself was worth the trip and very nicely done. However, somehow the tour was overbooked and therefore we had to wait for additional tour guides to arrive which delayed our departure by an hour and therefore shortened our tour which was disappointing. Also because the tour was overbooked it made it challenging for the guides to navigate the group on the train and bus and one of our group members ended up getting off at the wrong station. Thankfully he was able to figure it out and go on the tour still. Again, our guide was great and came in on her day off to help but with the overbooking it was a challenge.
Excellent trip & guide was fantastic !
Michael did an outstanding job as the tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and did a great job making sure that everyone in the group stayed together and could hear him clearly at each stage of the tour. It was very informative.
This is a very good and informative tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant. He orchestrated our travel there and back seemlessly! There is a lot of walking, so be prepared. Finding out this was a work camp and not a death camp was a bit of a relief for me but still VERY sobering.
Alex was a great tour guide. Although it’s a heavy subject matter and a sad place to visit, it should be mandatory for everyone. If we don’t learn from history we’re bound to repeat it.
Michael was extremely knowledgeable and very sensitive to this tour. Would highly recommend Michael as a guide. Be prepared to walk and stand but so worth it.
Jessie was an awesome guide. She was very knowledgeable and very respectful in sharing the history of Dachau. Highly recommend
Fantastic tour guide! If you get Alex consider yourself lucky. So refreshing to be around knowledgeable people that care what they are speaking about. He was extremely kind to everyone and just an all around nice person! Worth the day!
Our guide, Michael was very knowledgeable kind. This is something everyone should see when in Germany.
This is a very serious, moving experience if you take it all in. There is so much to see and learn, going through all of the buildings was emotional. The museum is also extremely interesting and so large could not see it all. Our tour guide Carlotta (Charlotte) was excellent! She was so informative and knew so much history. She definitely made it much more interesting! She was personable and friendly.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us plenty of time to see everything. Even though Dauchau is a very sad place to visit it is part of history.
This experience had a profound effect on me because I have been blessed to meet 3 holocaust survivors in my lifetime. They all said to me "never forget". I can't even imagine the horror at the hands of evil people. Our English speaking tour guide Michael was the best with interactive questions for members of the tour. My only suggestion would be a little extra time for a final bathroom stop and buying a memento in the gift shop.
Aileen, our English tour guide, was awesome. She was easy to find at the meeting location, gave clear and loud instructions at every place, including on the train & bus. She was also very knowledgeable on all things Dachau. She was great!
Powerful and somber visit. Guide met us in Munich and took us via train and bus to venue. Guide was knowledgeable and kept the group together throughout the journey.
