Our guide Franka was outstanding. She was full of knowledge and a lot of fun. The food was great. I was full when we finished.

Overall, I would recommend the tour. The guide was engaging, informative, and stayed on topic. She shared many interesting stories about the city, and I enjoyed the tour. However, out of the five food tastings, only two truly represented Munich and Germany. German food itself, though, is a different matter altogether.
Stefi was a great guide. Very personable with lots of tips about where to get the best food and what locals like to eat. Nice sampling of food in the market and had a great time even though it was a rainy day.
A very interesting tour of the market interspersed with interesting facts about local history, culture, customs and traditions. I would recommend this to anyone.
Danielle was a great guide. She gave great background and history of the market. Perfect length of time. Highly recommend this tour.
Great experience- loved our tour guide Michael - he was full of historic facts & local food insights. He was a great host & made the time together feel like a fun gathering of friends instead of an awkward outing w strangers. Good way to taste local favorites & tour Munich old town & get some of the local vibe.
We really enjoyed our time on the tour with Danielle! She was very insightful and very easy to understand. We are a groups of college girls and really enjoyed the food (expect sausage, pretzel, juice, cheese and a few other things). It ended up just being our group on the tour which was also really nice!! We had someone gluten free in our group and they had to sit a few things out but overall were able to eat most of it. We loved going around the market and gained some guidance for later. We even went back to one of the shops we sampled from! Awesome experience would recommend!
Danielle was a fantastic guide and was very knowledgeable and personable, we were lucky enough to have a small group which allowed for a very personalized experience. We got a great tour of the Munich marketplace and got to taste several delicious dishes that I otherwise would have likely walked past or not thought to try in addition to the more famous dishes, and it was great to meet the owners of the various stands. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Munich.
Danielle was a great guide on all things Munich and the Munich food scene. The food we sampled was really good and we got a good tour if the market.
Ulrich was a great tour guide! He was very informative and made adjustments for our small group. My complaint is that the food options were underwhelming. My favorite stop was a juice bar. It was delicious and the shop owner was very engaging, but I don't think that it had anything to do with Bavarian food. I also appreciated that the heartiest item was served first. I actually think that there is some logistic issue with hosting a food tour in the market. I read reviews for lots of Munich food tours and they all have similar complaints (great guides, so-so food options). At least this tour was among the cheaper. Glad that I didn't pay twice the money for a similar experience.
Truly enjoyed this tour with Danielle providing history and background to the areas and sites we walked through while enjoying tasty bites from Bavaria.
Great history lesson and delicious food. We tried food we didn’t even know about. Ulrike was a great guide and made the tour special.
The tour guide was wonderful. The food was skimpy- a very good sandwich, a cold fishcake, a small juice, a small portion of fruit, cheese which was good and ice cream, which was very good.
Excellent tour led by a well informed guide. Lots of preparation put into the run up to the tour. Highly recommend this to anyone planning to visit Munich.
The tour guide was informative and energetic. The food was pretty good. Would have preferred more German food, but overall very nice.
Bavarian Food Experience ... Thomas was our guide who is veryvknowledgeable of Munchen history and famous artists and leaders who lived in Muchen. Thomas gave us the opportunity to sample the Bavarian food which tasted very good and large portions. We sampled the liver/cheese sandwich, mixed pickles, fish cake, fruit juice, cheese sampler, and a Bavarian pastry. The experience was awesome and I would recommend this tour.
Ulrich's tour was great. He combined a history lesson with multiple opportunities to taste all the things on offer in the market, including meat, fish, cheese, antipasto, fruit, and pastry. So much food. Well worth the visit.
Daniel was very experienced and gave a great Tour of history and food! The food selection wasn't the typical tourist tastings which was wonderful. I left full! I almost missed the tour since I was looking for a yellow flag as in the description, but lucked out when a local helped me find her.
We tasted several typical Bavarian food following the suggestions of Danielle. The food was delicious and sometimes surprising and Danielle was very friendly and informative. She told us a lot of information not only about food but also history. Very interesting!
The guide was wonderful; she combined history and good. The food choices were perfect. It was a wonderful experience. The trip around the food vendors in Munich was extremely interesting
Great experience with exposure to Bavarian food and culture. Danielle was a wonderful guide with robust knowledge of Munich's history which was woven into the food tour.
Noel was wonderful. We learned so much about Munich during our food tour. He went above and beyond helping us navigate the buses back to our hotel. 5 stars #Munchkin
Very educational and included a good amljnt of food. We enjoyed learning more about the city and getting to try different specialties.
An interesting tour. Our guide Danielle was friendly and knowledgeable. Fewer tastings than we’ve had on other food tours… and sometimes it wasn’t clear how the foods were linked to Bavaria (e.g. mixed fruit juices). But overall a good afternoon.
Thomas was a knowledgeable and fun tour guide. All of the food we tasted was absolutely delicious. Ask for Thomas!
Thomas was an excellent guide through the market. He was very knowledgeable and had interesting facts about the history of Munich and of the food we tried. Come hungry as you will try lots of food and definitely leave stuffed. Highly recommend this tour.
Thomas was a wonderful guide. We enjoyed him and the tour immensely. Food was great and plentiful. You will leave very full.
Wonderful experience getting flavors of Munich as well as the history. Danielle our guide was quite knowledgeable and lovely. My favorite part of trip here so far.
Thomas did a great job !!! Excellent English!!! Food was outstanding- huge portions! We were stuffed! Great stories & highlights of Munich!
Our guide was very good and knew her topic. The food was somewhat of a disappointment however. My husband and I had hoped for tastes of sausages, potato salads, apple strudel, etc. The cold fish cakes were uninteresting and the thick slab of meat on a roll at the outset was way too much when a taste would have been better. The cheese samples were good but the ice cream sample was skimpy. The fruit drink at the conclusion of a very warm day was a welcome relief.
The tour was awesome! Our tour guide was Wolfgang and he did a fantastic job telling the history. The food was amazing and the Viktualienmrkt was large and incredible!
I met my sisters in Munich and did the food tour with Thomas who was a friendly and extremely informative guide with lots of anecdotes about the food market. The tour had plenty to eat so bring a good appetite, I definitely recommend it as a way to see a different aspect to Munich
Thomas was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The assortment of foods was excellent. He also threw in some fun facts about Freddie Mercury.
Our guide was amazing! We were so happy to meet her and see and taste the local’s favorite foods! We were sorry to see it end! Would highly recommend!,,,
The tour was cancelled the night before we were to go in tour. Holiday in Germany Really terrible communication
Excellent tour. Thomas was very knowledgable and entertaining. Food stops were great - and decent quantities. Would highly recommend.
Danielle was a great guide who was knowledgeable about food, the city and its history, while helping us stay out of the summer heat
Absolutely worth doing if youre in munich. For the price offered you go to alot of different stops and really get an understanding for both the food culture and the history of it. Micheal was an excellent guide who was both charismatic and informative
Very knowledgeable guide, great food and interesting conversation. The walk was a sensible pace with the stops evenly placed
What a tour Danielle was fantastic, telling us some history of Munich as we started the tour. Then we got to the food market and we learned about the shops the vendors and of course the food. The choices of food we had as we traveled the market were fantastic, each one better than the last on. Please don't miss this food tour!!!!! Thanks for a great time!!!!!
Wonderful tour, we learned so much about the market and Munich from a delightful guide, and sampled many delicious items. Highly recommend!!!!
Michael our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The food tastings were great We all enjoyed the food tour!
I accidentally signed up for the tour in German. Lucky for me there were two amazing people who were learning how to give the tour and spoke English so I was able to understand. So much information and food tasting. I really recommend this tour, just make sure you sign up for the correct language!!
Excellent tour, it was a lovely introduction to the splendid food and drink that Munich has to offer. Our guide was incredibly informative and friendly, and made our tour very enjoyable. We walked around the market sampling a range of products including speciality pork sandwiches, artisan cheese, fishcakes, organic spread, pastry & more. Our guide wove together stories on the food and history of Munich, and I would recommend this tour as it provides a good introduction to the history of Munich, as well as a culinary journey.
We had Stephanie Anne as our guide who was lovely and knowledgeable but the tour was let down by the poor choice of food stops. We had white sausage (possibly the worst of all the Bavarian sausages you could have) and I think they would have been better off giving us a small selection of sausages not just one type. This was followed by a very bizarre selection of exotic fruits that were from the Far East - definitely not what I wanted or expected from a Bavarian food tour. Next up was some organic/homeopathic food stop, which again was so not anything typical about Munich or Bavaria. My advice to the tour would be have a better selection of sausages, add some pork knuckle or such like, perhaps a goulash and some apple strudel. If you are a true foodie this will very badly let you down as a tour I'm afraid
I enjoyed going on this tour. The guide was very upbeat and informative and organized. Eat a light breakfast before you go because only one tasting was pretty hearty, the rest are light tastings. But this tour is a great way to see what’s in the market.
Would not recommend. There were at least 20 people and the guide (I forget her name) was knowledgeable but we couldn’t hear her. I thought it was billed as Bavarian food tour, but other than the first stop with Bratwurst, the rest was a mix of “exotic” fruit (all of which I could get at home) and an organic place with some bread with toppings. We did end up with some traditional dessert of plum bread. Visiting the open market was nice. Too bad she didn’t talk about cheeses, spaetzle, sausages, different pretzels, etc.
This walking tour and the food was ok. The tour guide was not inspiring but she did lead us to an interesting market area which I hadn't seen before.
We ate at a street park area. Everyone was drinking wonderful beer in big steins. Ate the wurst & sourcrout along with big soft pretzels.all of this was outdoors on picnic benches with loud German music.
A good long tour through the Viktualienmarkt with lots of interesting information about the history of Munich, its markets and food. The food that we got to sample was really good, and the quantities were fantastic, we didn't need lunch afterwards. Ulrich, the tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. It would have been nice to have a bit more explanation why we were sampling the foods we did. But overall an enjoyable afternoon out and would recommend to anyone looking for something to do in Munich.
