The biggest reason this hotel deserves such a high rating is undoubtedly its wonderful staff. Everyone, from the reception team to the breakfast service, was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and helpful. It was the attention to small details that truly won us over. We were travelling with our little boy, and we were especially touched by the thoughtful gift he received — a colouring book that he happily carried around with him throughout our entire holiday. Small gestures like this really make a difference and show how much the hotel cares about its guests. The rooms were comfortable and pleasant. There were a few minor things that probably cannot be replaced overnight, such as a cracked induction hob. However, it was fully functional, so we did not see this as something to complain about. The hotel's location is also very convenient, with several public transport options nearby, including the underground, buses, and trams. Due to the current construction work affecting the underground schedule, we would personally recommend using the tram instead. The staff kindly explained all the available transport options to us, which was very helpful. Breakfast was good, with enough variety for everyone to find something they liked. Although we only stayed for one night, we had a very pleasant experience. What we will remember most is the kindness and warmth of the staff. In the end, it is the people who truly make the difference — and here, you can genuinely feel that they care about their guests.

Beautiful large rooms and convenient to public transport. We had two rooms for a family of 4 for 3 days. The rooms are very large compared to other European Hotels, and really comfortable bedding and furniture (in line with Marriott standards). The staff on reception were really helpful, recognised my Marriott membership, and assisted us to find convenient public transport, as well as really nice Bavarian Restaurants near the hotel. We had been "on the road" for nearly 5 weeks, and I have to say the breakfast (included in the rate) was simply some of the best food we had. The breakfast staff were courteous and always ensured that the food was replenished, and tables were cleared and cleaned quickly. The bathrooms were spotless, and we had rooms facing the inner Courtyard essentially guaranteeing quiet and peaceful sleep. Whilst not the fault of the Hotel, there are some serious roadwork and footpath replacement happening along the entire street, making access with luggage dirty and difficult, and one of the Hotel staff said that these works had been ongoing for a long time. Once you get used to the trams, trains and busses, the hotel is within easy distance to the many sights to see within Munich. I would most definitely stay here again when next I return to Munich.
I am disappointed with my stay at this property. Although it belongs to the Marriott Bonvoy network, and despite being a residence-style property, it does not meet the standards and expectations I associate with the Marriott brand. The first disappointment came upon arrival: the hallway carpet was badly worn, and there was a strong unpleasant smell that continued into the room. The room itself was not cleaned properly. The bathroom towels had holes in them, and their color appeared worn and grey rather than clean. The bed linen was not clean upon arrival, so I contacted a housekeeper whom I met in the hallway. She addressed the issue immediately and replaced all the bedding. The air conditioning did not function as a proper AC system. It was more of a thermostat controlling heating and cooling, and it made a constant loud noise throughout the night if you wanted the room to be even moderately cool. The wooden flooring was damaged and worn, and the wallpaper also looked old and deteriorated. Housekeeping and towel replacement are not provided daily. If you want clean towels, you have to request them from reception, which, in my opinion, lowers the overall hygiene standard of the accommodation. I was also disappointed with the breakfast. The breakfast area was overcrowded, and I did not like the way the food was stored. I lost my appetite when I saw sliced ham left uncovered on the counter while flies from outside were flying around it. Especially during hot weather, such food should be better protected or kept in covered containers. I was also very disturbed by the sight of the serving trolley used by the staff during breakfast service. It was dirty, with food residues leaking from it. It was unpleasant to watch while trying to enjoy breakfast, especially considering that the staff used cleaning cloths wrapped around the trolley to wipe the tables. For me, this level of hygiene is absolutely unacceptable. The reception staff were friendly and tried their best to be helpful. The location close to the train station is a positive aspect. However, I would not choose to stay at this property again.
A new hotel with spacious and well appointed rooms. Efficient check in and check out, super helpful and kind staff. Good breakfast with plenty of food options. What doesn't work, is location. The hotel is surrounded by construction sites. There's also a massive construction along the east side of Munich Ostbanhof, and the only one way to access the station is via a bridge over the platforms - you need to climb several flights of stairs every time you want to get places - or take a taxi.
I’ve been staying at the Residence Inn Munich East for the past week, and I have to say it has been an outstanding experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff has been incredibly warm, welcoming, and professional. They speak multiple languages and go out of their way to make every guest feel comfortable and at home. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and thoughtfully designed for both short and extended stays. The breakfast buffet is excellent, offering a wide variety of fresh and delicious options each morning. One of the nice touches is the complimentary 24-hour coffee and purified water, which is always available and greatly appreciated after a long day of sightseeing or business meetings. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Munich. The combination of exceptional service, comfortable accommodations, and outstanding amenities makes it a place I would gladly stay at again.
