Leonardo Royal Hotel Munich

Bad experience staying here. It started with the parking. We specifically booked this hotel because it offers parking (€21 per night), but when we arrived, we were told that the hotel parking was full and were sent to another car park about a 5-minute walk away. This is inconvenient when you have things to carry. What made it more frustrating was that the staff member at reception told us the alternative parking was €1 cheaper, presenting this as an advantage. In reality, it turned out to be even more expensive: we paid €26.50 for just 14 hours. Cherry on top was that during check-in, the receptionist started guessing my name and selected the wrong guest from their system. I found this rather strange and not particularly professional. We had a so-called “Comfort Room.” There were stains on the furniture and the blanket was ripped. The bathroom is noisy and you can hear it while lying in bed. The room had two types of pillows: one was extremely large, while the other was very small and narrow. Neither was comfortable to sleep on. The most disturbing incident happened at around 9:30 a.m., when a staff member simply entered our room while we were sleeping and woke us up. There was no apparent reason for entering, and we were given no explanation. This made us feel very uncomfortable and uneasy, especially since guests should be able to expect privacy in their room. Breakfast was mediocre. If you sit outside, there are also a lot of bees, which made it practically impossible to enjoy breakfast on the terrace. Finally, we specifically joined their Advantage CLUB because complimentary late check-out is advertised as one of the membership benefits. However, when we asked at reception in the morning, we were told that the hotel was fully booked and that late check-out could not be offered. I then checked Booking.com and saw that rooms of the same category were still available to book for that day. This gave us the impression that they simply did not want to provide the advertised benefit. Needless to say, we will be cancelling our Advantage CLUB membership, as it provided no benefit to us whatsoever.

Stayed here for one night as part of a European road trip and had a great experience. Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, providing everything we needed after a full day of driving. The hotel was in a great location for our route, with convenient parking suitable for low cars and easy access. The hotel bar was reasonably priced and had a great variety of food and drinks available. Overall, excellent value for money and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended for anyone travelling through the area.

The room was very good, but I am not a big fan of frosted glass for the shower and the little space around the sink. The bedding was very nice and soft. The shower was great especially with the little bench in the shower, and I liked the tissues in the bathroom! The food was very good and the people baking eggs fresh is a nice touch. The metro was also easily reachable and with it you can get to many places in Munich.

Would I stay here again? Absolutely yes!!! Hotel is very clean and comfortable. The rooms are impeccable and the bed was ridiculously comfy. Location is very good as it’s 5 mins from Olympia Park. We rented the electric lime bikes (just down the road past Ferrari showroom) cycled from the hotel to BMW museum, then onto Nymphenburg Palace. Breakfast selection was also a large selection and would be hard for even the fussiest eater to not find something.
