Very nice hotel, very welll maintained, excellent and friendly service. Complementary bikes come in very handy when visiting the english gardens. A bit pricey but worth the money. Nice sauna and steam room too.

Loved the outside looks yellow is my favorite color. I was also in a forest about a hour away of driving. Its a good experience worth buying if you have the will and time.
This is the second year we’ve stayed here on our way from Berlin down to Italy. Besides being spotlessly clean, comfortable, with large enough rooms for families and an enormous breakfast, I love this hotel because it’s nowhere near Munich city center but it’s easy walking to dinner and beautiful parks. As soon as we get here we just duck into the English garden, swim or hang on the banks of the Ivar, have dinner at the Biergarten or a nearby restaurant and get into relaxation mode. Everyone who works here is nice and helpful, I have no idea if they’re speaking a lot of English. I also love the Clarins products in the bathrooms, they have all the good shampoo conditioner body wash and so on and not in horrid little bottles. A really great hotel at a completely reasonable price!!!
A bit of a water issue, which I’ll describe below. Unfortunate because the hotel was otherwise a good choice. But the water thing could be a deal breaker. An extended stay of one week. So, the hotel itself is first rate. It’s located right on the English Garden. The property is seemingly well managed, clean, upscale (as evidenced, if by nothing else, than the cost of the average vehicle parked out front or in the underground garage. Some serious eye candy for those that are interested…). The staff is professional, friendly, helpful, accommodating…. There’s a really nice garden area for chilling. The attached restaurant is pricy. I only ate there once and the meal was ok (a fried, breaded chicken thing). But it’s always crowded and certainly upscale, as well. I had my bike with me and it was great getting around and traveling through the English Garden. And as a point of reference, the Hbf was barely a half hour away. On the not so great side; I had booked a room above the restaurant in the neighboring building (though the underground garage connects it all). Not a major inconvenience, once one gets past having to always go through the restaurant to get to the room one floor up (no elevator that I could see). The room (416) was nicely appointed, clean, sunny… A capsule coffee machine, fruit, a bottle of wine and a small closet. The bathroom was well appointed with a full bathtub. The water thing… in the middle of every shower, the water pressure would suddenly either drop, and/or the hot water would cut out, and/or the water would just stop (!). It was worse in the late afternoon and evening, but nevertheless. I did complain about it, and was told that they were sort of aware of the issue. Or they wrote it off as the building being old and that an overhaul was planned for the fall (if I remember correctly). My response was that, ok, fine, but the room was still booked. Anyway, there was no offer to “make it right” or some such thing. So that’s my experience. My extended stay certainly amplified the water issue. For one or two nights, I would say give it a go, especially if those long luxurious showers aren’t”t so important to you.
We didn’t stay at the hotel, but had a family dinner at the restaurant, and everything about it was exceptional. Typical Bavarian environment directly in the forest with an open terrace and garden. Exceptionally tasty food with typical Bavarian large portions (refer to the pictures attached). Very friendly staff, great compliments to the team.
