Snorkeling Excursion, Discovery Of The Lagoon, Small Group.

Alex was so knowledgeable and we learned a great deal about how the island was formed. More importantly, he brought us to great snorkeling sites away from the crowded areas and gave us plenty of time to explore. My wife & I really enjoyed our lagoon & snorkeling tour with Alex. He stopped several great spots and gave us detailed education at each spot. He even towed us slowly behind the boat on a rope through a nice section of lagoon so we could relax & enjoy the beautiful scenery. We did the lagoon tour with Alex on the morning of Friday 8th October. Absolutely the highlight of Moorea. Look no further for a lagoon tour. Alex is the one to book with. He was a brilliant guide taking us to fantastic spots and making sure we were there before any crowds. He even managed to spot a huge pod of dolphins which we watched before any one else had arrived. He was energetic and made the whole morning very fun. He had great respect for the ocean and all the creatures in it. We enjoyed a lovely drink on board in the sun and some nice crisps. We did the tour with two 10+ year old kids and they loved it. For those of you who get seasick easily: there’s no risk here, the tour is only done in the Laguna and the water is very calm.

One of my favorite snorkeling tours of all time. On the first part of the tour, we hung on to a rope from the back of the boat and covered a lot of ground. Second part, you swim on your own. Saw sharks, turtles, rays, and tons of fish. Loved that guide was eco conscious and told us to observe but don't touch. What a beautiful experience.

This was our second trip with Alex Lagoon Tours and once again it did not disappoint. Alex is the ultimate guide - knowledgeable, friendly, calm and fun. We experienced so many highlights from hanging off of the back of the boat trawling amongst the turtles and eagle rays to encountering the friendly sting rays and black tip reef sharks on the sand bank. Next up was free snorkelling in between motus with an incredible coral garden and fish followed by a stint at the most amazing purple coral. We highly recommend Alex and can’t wait until our next trip.

We had an amazing trip with Alex. He really went above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible experience. There were just four of us, the boat was clean and comfortable, and Alex was very considerate and friendly. Super clever way of showing us the deep water channel and we got to see spotted eagle rays. This was a fantastic snorkeling excursion! Alex is such a cool guy, very professional, but also super laid back. He made us feel welcome and comfortable from the start. He is super knowledgeable about the lagoon and the wildlife. The small group size of 7 guests for our trip was very chill. This is definitely a “snorkeling centric” excursion, so if you love to snorkel, this is definitely for you. Alex was able to comfortably include four different experiences into our half-day trip. First, he laid out two tow ropes, each with a wooden handle toward the boat and another at the end of the rope. He then towed us all around at a comfortable speed around an area of the lagoon where we saw several sea turtles and four spotted eagle rays beneath us! Then, we got back in the boat and headed to a sand bar area where we were in chest deep water swimming with sting rays and black tip reef sharks. Alex had some sardines, which attracted a variety of lagoon fish in addition to the rays and sharks. It was like swimming in an aquarium, everything was super close! After this we headed to a “coral garden” between two motus. We were given almost an hour to snorkel on our own in this area. We swam against a current out toward the reef and then drifted back toward the boat. We saw lots of great coral and fish! It was also just a stunning screen saver type location. You could stand easily in the water (in sandy spots in between coral heads) and take in the scene. In this area there are a number of private sort of beach hut/restaurant or hang out spots on the motus. Alex mentioned there are tours available for a day at the beach at these locations, which would be super cool to do. After this Alex took us to what he called his “secret spot.” This was another area in the lagoon where we could snorkel out toward the reef and observe lots of coral and sea life. The blue and other vibrant clams were a new and unique thing for us. We had ample time to snorkel here before heading back to shore. Throughout, Alex was explaining where we should go and what he was going to do and what we would see. He was always very reassuring that we would be safe and why we would be safe if we followed his guidance. He was very observant of all of us from the boat. He was in the water with us at the sand bar. We cannot say enough about what a great host and guide Alex is. You should definitely spend a half-day with Alex!

Alex was great, very informative and an excellent guide. He is not overbearing and lets you have free rein of the reef. The towing idea is a great one and helps you see more in the time you have allotted with him. He is very protective of the wildlife in the area, it was a pleasure to hang with him and visit his favorite spots in Moorea :)

Excellent snorkeling tour with Max!! We had a private tour and we swam with baby sharks and sting rays! Water was amazing. Max was an excellent guide! We would 100% book this again!

Alex was awesome! He took us to the best spots with no one around and I especially love that he only does small groups so it’s personal with just a few people. Most importantly, Alex is a fabulous tour guide. He has a great itinerary planned to maximize the time spent. Other reviewers discuss the details, but the best part of his trip is emphasizing just relaxing and enjoying the underwater scenery in a safe and pristine environment. Two of the snorkeling stops were based on 'just going out and exploring the undersea world that Moorea offers'. Plenty of time was given for just that. I even saw a lemon shark on one of the stops (whoa! that guy is big!!). Fortunately, they aren't aggressive toward humans because I am sure he saw me first. This was the best thing we did on Moorea! Max was an excellent guide and our group of 4 ended up having an accidental private tour since the max group is 6. We swam with turtles, string rays, and reef sharks and even got to see some manta rays! Max was a reassuring guide and we loved chatting with him about life as well. Alex was a wonderful guide; personable, educational & fun. We loved the small setting of 6 people on the boat. Top memory, being pulled behind boat to view the turtles. The sting ray and shark encounter was memorable, Alex was the stingray whisperer! He took us to a private spot with no other snorkelers around where we spotted many species of sea life. Great time with Alex snorkeling in Moorea

This was one of my favorite activities I did in French Polynesia! Alex perfectly curates each of his tours to ensure all of his guests gets the most out of the experience. He took us to private spots on the lagoon and we saw a variety of sea life: coral gardens, sharks, rays, turtles, and so many fish! Alex is also very knowledgable and makes sure everyone is safe and having fun! I will definitely do Alex Lagoon Tour again when I come back to Mo'orea!

This trip was the highlight of our trip to Moorea. We found Alex professional, attentive and informative. I have had a long-standing terror of sharks and doubted I'd enter the water when they were present. (I avoid the ocean in New Zealand largely because of this fear). However, Alex explained their behaviours in ways that gave me the courage to hop in with them. The snorkelling spot was amazing. There were so many different fish and Alex had a book that helped us identify our favourite, the parrot fish. We were also amazed by the large turtles we saw as we were towed in the channel behind the boat. Watching the sunset with snacks and a drink made a perfect ending to our special day.

This was one of the best snorkeling trips. Alex was hilarious, calm and so knowledgeable. Swimming with sharks and stingrays was incredible and to watch the sunset on the way back, just topped it off. Love that is a small group tour as well.

Alex is the Man !!!! You meet at his home,which is very beautiful. He takes small groups, ours was six counting my wife & I. Alex makes you feel safe and very welcome. He supplies you with the snorkle gear if you need it. You start early to beat the crowds. He took us to 3 locations. The first ,He pulls you through the water in between Moorea and another little island, he calls it lazy snorkeling. We where able to see eagle rays, turtles along with other fish. The second spot is where you "swim" with the rays & sharks. It's awesome to see & touch them as they swim around you. The last location is between 2 islands off of Moorea,one of them is where Coco beach is. The water is very clear. Here he let's you snorkle or just relax on the boat. I would highly recommend this excursion with Alex. It's great that he starts early to beat the crowds. He's very knowledgeable and humerus.

We snorkelled 4 different locations, went to see turtles, sharks, colorful corals and we had the chance to pet stingrays. At the end we had a drink with the guide, Alex. He was a very good guide, created a good atmosphere and I think the small group was favourable.
