Sea Scooter Snorkeling: Sharks, Stingrays, Turtles & Coral

It was an amazing experience. Sebastian (the guide) was thoughtful and incredibly attentive. Captain Manu was likewise outstanding. The reefs and varieties of underwater species were spectacular. We saw a hawksbill sea turtle and frolicked with the friendliest sting rays (who appeared as soon as Sebastian started to enter the water). The scooter was easy to operate and allowed us to see so much more than simply snorkeling would have permitted.

Amazing tour , highly recommended , quality equipment , lovely setting , great communications and excellent facilities. They supplied water , juice , beer and snacks. Being able to  stroll around the sofitel post and prior was a bonus. We had had the whole bay to our tour , with no one else around - conditions weren't perfect but still easy to get around.  Amazing fish and petting the stingray was a highlight for my wife. Nico and his team are great operators and make you feel very welcomed.

We really enjoyed the snorkeling. All equipment, including wet suits was provided. We saw a greater variety of fish than we've ever seen snorkeling. My only complaint wos that I felt like I was constantly trying to keep up with my guide rather than have time to slowly observe the fish. The guide was moving around a lot. Thank goodness for the scooter for keeping up.There is a stingray at the second location that likes to follow the group like a little puppy. That was really neat. .

Really really awesome experience. The guide Sebastian along with the captain took great care of us. I was a bit nervous with water at the begining and they helped me adjust the mask till I felt ok enough to continue. The 3 spots we stoped at were all amazingly unique and wonderful. You also get to play with 2 stingrays that seem to be good friends with the tour guide. I would do this tour again in a hearbeat!

Despite it being a really windy and chilly day our Caption and Guide made our experience wonderful! They were so knowledgeable, friendly, and safe! We had an amazing time and would definitely go again one day!

The scooters were so fun! And easy to use. My husband and I had never done anything like this before and we really enjoyed it. The scooters enables us to cover a lot of ground and keep up with the rays. The captain and our guide were very friendly and super knowledgeable. I would 100% book this excursion again.

Sea Scooter Snorkeling with Nico was fantastic! It was my first time trying a sea scooter, and I was surprised by how easy and fun it was to use. Nico gave us very clear instructions, and we felt comfortable from the start. We had an amazing time exploring the water. Nico also took photos and videos throughout the experience, which were available for an additional fee and made the experience even more memorable. Definitely a fun and unique activity to try in Moorea!

Nico and his captain did a great job of taking us to three different locations for snorkeling. A wet suit is required to be worn which they supply along with other snorkeling equipment. You can bring your own snorkeling equipment if you want. We got touch a manta ray and see a large turtle! Nico takes pictures and videos of everyone throughout the snorkeling experience. At the end he will show you the footage on a TV. The prices are as follows: $100 (10,000 francs) for pictures only. $100 (10,000 francs) for videos only. $120 (120,000 francs) for pictures and videos. You can try taking your own photos throughout the experience, but I doubt your photos will be as good as Nico's. They will send you a link via email the morning after the excursion to download the files which are very large. Using a sea scooter is a huge advantage because you preserve your energy and get to see a larger area! Highly recommend booking with these guys for snorkeling!

From beginning to end it was an awesome experience. They explain all the equipment and make you feel safe & comfortable. They took us to 3 locations to snorkle that where all beautiful. We saw colorful fish,stingrays & turtles. Nico was our guide we followed while snorkeling. He takes video & pictures along the way that you can purchase at the end. The captain was great as well. This is a must do when in Moorea,I highly recommend this excursion. I'd like to say Thank you to the Captain & Nico for a safe experience & life long memory.

We had a wonderful experience with our knowledgeable guide, Nico !! We were able to see quite a bit of beautiful sea life

First off, my wife, son and I have snorkeled quite a bit at most of the islands of Hawaii, Fiji, the Caribbean, and previously in French Polynesia 8 years ago. Suffice it to say, we are somewhat spoiled when it comes to outstanding snorkeling. We had a couple of days in Moorea after our cruise and decided to book an excursion. I booked the Sea Scooter Jet Snorkeling & Safari for myself, my wife and son easily on TripAdvisor. The co-owner/operator, Nico responded quickly to my emailed questions about the tour. On the day of the tour, we boarded a boat at the Sofitel Hotel-Moorea with Nico Moizé and Captain Poto, co-owners of Moorea Water Games with Nico serving as our in-in-the-water guide and Captain Poto manning the helm of the boat. Moorea Water games provides all the gear including wetsuits as well as refreshments during the tour. On this particular day, we were the only 3 people in the group so it was like having a private tour! The tour was outstanding and Nico knows where to look for interesting sea life! We saw many beautiful corals, all kinds of fish, friendly stingrays, and sea anemones in the crystal-clear waters surrounding Moorea. The sea scooters are easy to operate and even my wife who was initially uncomfortable in the water got the hang of using the scooter with both Nico and Captain Poto's patient, calm approach. Captain Poto takes you to a spot with a very friendly 15-year-old stingray who likes personally greet each snorkeler. We also bought the video and photo package when we arrived for the tour which is well worth the money! Nico has very high-quality photo/video gear; is a skilled videographer/photographer and was able to capture some excellent video and photos of our tour. The finished video and photo files are outstanding! We also brought our GoPro along to take some additional pics of the tour, of which are included on this post. Both Nico and Poto are highly professional, very friendly, and go out of their way to provide an excellent snorkel tour. If you get the chance in Moorea, we highly recommend the Sea Scooter Jet Snorkeling & Safari!

Incredible all around! Our dive instuctor was great, the three stops for looking at fish. sharks, turtles, and rays were great too. Especially the giant stingray at the end of our trip! Thank you so much for this beautiful experience!

This was an amazing tour. Nico and Captain Poto as well as Yumi who worked in the Dive Center were experienced knowledgeable and very accommodating. My 9-year-old daughter and I had the most amazing time on the boat and in the water. The pictures and videos that we purchased were also wonderful and well edited and put together. Totally worth the investment!

A must do experience. Make sure you put plenty of sunscreen behind your ears and the back of your legs. Memorable experience for all the right reasons. Guides and crew were amazing!

My husband and I did a sea scooter jet snorkeling tour, and it was so EPIC!!! Nico and the boat captain were very knowledgeable on ocean life, and it was fun to be out on the water with them. We got to see a bunch of different fish, including clownfish flitting in and out of a sea anemone, sting rays, blacktip reef sharks, and so much more. It was a ton of fun using a sea scooter to move all around the reef. I highly recommend this tour!

We received a friendly reception. I loved the cute wetsuit I was asked to wear. It was surprisingly easy to use the sea scooter. A highlight was the orange-fin anemone fish which I have never seen before. I really enjoyed myself. The tour was guided by a marine biologist! The captain has super skills handling the boat. He is very caring and his assistance resulted in me being able to snorkel with great confidence the rest of the holiday. The friendly ray caught up with us at the last stop. I have a great appreciation for beautiful corals and I was suitably impressed with this spot and the excursion. The video quality is excellent.

My wife and I did this with one of our friends, and we had a really interesting time. The use of the jet scooters allowed us to cover a lot of area while not having to worry about swimming all out if we fell behind. Also, the locations we visited had some moderate currents that were no problem for the scooters, but would have made snorkeling difficult without them. I particularly liked that the scooter pulled me easily down when I wanted it. I usually have trouble getting below the surface when snorkeling, because my ears don't adjust to depths quickly and I usually run out of breath before getting acclimated. With the scooter I could quickly drop down a few feet, wait for my ears to adjust, then go still deeper. The guide takes photos and video that you can buy, but I took my camera and he suggested I hold the scooter between my legs to free my hands to take a photo, which worked. Different and fun!

Wonderful snorkeling experience, enchanting places, and super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff! An experience you absolutely must try!

What a great trip! We saw so many marine creatures and beautiful corral gardens. The water was calm and warm with great visibility. It was our first time using the sea scooter and they gave us plenty of time in the shallow lagoon to familiarize ourselves with the equipment before starting the tour. The guide was not only a very experienced diver but a great photographer as well. With his close up photos of rays and turtles, I didn't have to struggle with my own GoPro. Highly recommended!

The guide, who was a professional photographer, was much more focused on taking pictures than on the guiding job. Although he is very talented, I felt like the point of the trip was to try to sell us an $80 video package (photos were extra) at the end. My partner and I both had GoPro type cameras, which could be managed while driving the sea scooter, but the guide nixed them saying photographers have a tendency to go off on their own. Although we were instructed to follow him like ducklings, he was difficult to locate because he was zig-zagging around looking for fish to take pictures of. That being said, the snorkeling sites were excellent, and the group was small and manageable. Our masks were old and scratched, but didn't leak. The scooter itself was as advertised, but was hard to slow down if someone (usually the guide taking pictures) was stopped in front of you.

We have snorkeled a number of times before, elsewhere around the world, but the sea scooters made this experience one of the absolute best! Our guide Sebastian gave our group thorough instructions beforehand about the equipment, which was very easy to use. Appreciated the included full-face snorkeling mask and fins. The boat took us to 3 different spots, and the marine life we saw was amazing. Fantastic experience all around!

It is a fun activity for those who don’t dive, yet can enjoy the beauty of Moorea underwater life!!!

The experience was more than we could have ever hoped for! The guide and captain were knowledgeable and kind and welcoming. The sea scooters were easy to learn to operate and were essential to cover as much of the reef as we did. We are beyond grateful. From the reef, to the huge schools of fish, to the anemones, and coral types, and especially the sting rays who were so sweet and friendly, we had the time of our life. 10/10 recommend.

I had no experience operating a sea scooter and I was a little nervous, but the tour guide took us to open shallow water to practice before we went to our snorkeling sites. Once we were comfortable with our scooters, we went to three sites and each site had different fish and marine animals. We swam with beautiful fish and coral, turtles and rays. We saw the elusive clown fish, a few shy sharks, eels. We swam with large schools fish. We saw everything the waters of Moorea has to offer on a snorkeling tour. You will not be disappointed. You won’t be able to shoot photos or videos because you will be holding the sea scooter. Not to worry. A professional underwater photographer will be on the tour with you and offer excellent photos and videos of your experience for a fee.

A cant miss experience to be sure! It was like seeing a nature documentary in real life! The masks give you a full view of all the sea life and the jets add so much fun

This tour was so much fun! Sebastian was our guide and the captain was Nicole. Sebastian was very knowledgeable about the fish and reefs and Nicole was a great captain. The underwater scooters were a lot of fun and made it easy to go far without getting tired. We stopped in three different locations, with the first stop being the longest, and second the shortest, and the third in between. On the third, there was a manta ray with whom the guide had a relationship and the ray followed us the whole way, which was easily the highlight of the excursion.

Such a cool experience! Sebastian was a great guide. Really good tour for anyone not great at swimming or who tire easy. We went to 3 locations and all were super cool. Felt like we got to spend alot if time in the water. The scooters made everything so much easier and took the stress of fighting currents out of the situation. I will definitely do this again!

This was a really cool way to explore the vibrant coral gardens of Moorea, some of the sights you see under water are incredible and otherworldly. There’s such a vast array of marine life, and a chance to spot turtles, mantas and sharks. We also paid for our photos to be taken, and they were definitely worth the money. One small suggestion would be to do the shallower stop first; just to acclimatise to using the sea scooter as it’s tricky to get used to in deep water with high coral.

Such a cool excursion!! The captain and tour guide were very friendly and informative. They provide you with everything you need for the trip! We stopped at a few locations to see different things and we were even fortunate enough to see a crazy amount of dolphins right next to the boat and even get in to swim with them a little bit. They do have a professional camera taking pictures and videos for you to purchase at the end. We did use our go pro but it was a little hard to use sometimes with the scooter in our hands. Overall great experience and easy to do!

This was incredible. Nico and Poto knew the best spots to take us in the reef to see all kids of fish and rays. The huge surprise at the end was the video and photo album Nico made of professional quality photos. We will treasure these and our memories forever! Sea scootering is so fun and it was our favorite family adventure in Moorea.

Nicolas and Sébastien have been nothing less than extraordinary. They have the Pacific vibe and it was amazing, even if we were beginners, my wife and I. We said that our dream was to see turtles and as soon as he saw one, he told us to follow him so we could fulfill our dream. Sébastien is a biologist of the ocean (I forgot the official title) so he could describe everything we encounter and was very reassuring when we were swimming with rays. It was incredible to see the rays so affective with him like cats, it was obvious that he takes care of the fish/animals. I wasn’t sure about the tour since no experience and no equipment but they provide everything and the basics are easy to pick up. Their sea scooter was amazing, didn’t sweat a bit. I recommend greatly these guys and the experience in the morning, it’s a no brainer for that price.

When we were planning our trip to Tahiti, Sea Scooters was at the absolute top of my list of things to do! we have done snorkeling, adventures, which are fun, but Sea Scooters take it to the next level. Nico did such a great job of pointing out sea life that we wouldn’t have noticed, and taking us too places with such beautiful underwater scenery and marine life. We also chose to do the video package as well, and couldn’t be happier with the results! The crew knows what they are doing, and will make sure you have a great time, and have photo/video memories that will last a lifetime. I wouldn’t shut up about it to all the other hotel guests for the remainder of our trip!

This was an awesome way to snorkel. The scooter was simple to operate & gently pulls you along, helping you to cover more ground than swimming alone. They even provide a wetsuit to help keep you warm. The coral gardens are a must to see, a ray joined us and swam along for quite a while, & our guide Sebastian was helpful & informative. Highly recommend this method of snorkeling!

Professional from the get go, our guide Nico explained everything we needed and provided plasticized instructions to read over so everyone knew what, where, how, why….you get it…before we headed out. They provided modern, clean snorkelling equipment and even a size variety of shorty wetsuits to avoid chills. Nico explained the scooters and everyone tried the controls to be comfortable with operating them. Only then did we head to the boat, we had 7 in our group and a perfect size for the boat. We dove at three different locations for a total of 2 1/2 hours in the water, spectacular visibility with plenty of fish varieties and changing coral. The scooters are so much fun, you travel over a great distance feeling relaxed and able to enjoy a much greater array of sea life, stunning coral and hawks bill turtles. We were entertained by a school of spinner dolphins for 20 minutes, all around and under the boat. We were greeted at our final location by two VERY friendly sting rays. They would not leave us alone, like friendly pups they followed us everywhere and stayed with us the entire half hour of snorkelling. Amazing having a sting ray coil around your leg as you scratched their heads never once feeling threatened by that spine. Wonderful experience from start to finish.

Sea scooter jet snorkelling was so much fun seeing all the colourful fish at the different reefs. We even got to see a turtle and stingray and a pod of dolphins. What a magical morning with Nico

This tour experience definitely was memorable and all that the nature in ocean life including the fish, stingray, turtles and coral we got to see were breathtaking! No iphones in protective case allowed due to possible entanglement in scooter motor but go pro like cameras with float device or stick handle bring if you have. We were fortunate the guide has a professional camera and he was able you get outstanding pictures of all the moments..even put a video and pictures available for purchase which I definitely recommend cause the clarity of that footage speaks for itself. There was a special stingray friend that greeted everyone as they got off the boat and swam with us the entire trip for one of the spots we explored! Such an amazing experience!
