Really enjoyed our tour from the dock. We arrived on the cruise ship "Quantum of the Seas". We booked directly with the operator. Sham, our guide was hilarious and kept us entertained during the entire trip. The best part for us was wading with rays and black tip sharks. Soooo much fun! Really awesome photo ops with the wildlife up close.

A great tour with three different snorkeling stops. Many rays, sharks ( inoffensive), all type of tropical fish, turtles, and underwater tiki sculptures. Great captain and guide. At end of tour very good lunch on a motu. All around fantastic!
Literally had possibly the best day of my life thanks to the team and the experience they gave us!
What an amazing experience from start to finish. We were shuttled to turtle club from the pier to arrive at the beautiful beach club - so tranquil and good food and drinks on offer! Every staff member was so friendly all day and our captain Lou and tour guide Sham were brilliant with us all day. Non stop laughs and fun, with amazing snorkelling stops always respecting the vast array of wildlife on offer. Lunch and drinks on the private island was a real plus too, never felt rushed and the food was so fresh! Even provided tofu of the grill for our vegetarian friend. Would highly recommend, all 8 of us had a day to remember!
Excellent experience the guides were great and explained a lot of the history. Snorkeling was really great as well. We saw so many sea turtles, bat ray and swimming with the stingrays was and sharks was awesome. Then the lunch on the private motu was phenomenal.
Absolutely incredible adventure! The lagoon, the tikis and the lunch was an incredible experience, 10000/10 would recommend
Great company, they’ve thought of everything. Friendly, helpful crew. Excellent lunch in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend.
This snorkelling trip was great. Our guides/captain were friendly, entertaining and informative, and worked hard to give us the best possible experience. The lunch on the island was a lovely finish to the trip.
We had a great experience with Captain Taina glass bottom boat trip and lunch. From start to finish our tour guide, Kenai, was friendly and knowledgeable. We snorkelled with green turtles, viewed traditional tikis and carvings and swam with black tip reef sharks and eagle rays. And the Poisson Cru was delicious!!! Definitely recommend and taking the rest of our family next year.
Sham was our Snorkle guide and he was terrific in making sure in explaining the marine life we are seeing and making sure the group was safe during each of the snorkle stops. Would recommend in booking the snorkel tour again!
A memorable experience! We snorkeled with turtles, rays and sharks in their natural environment. At our third stop we saw underwater sculptures. Our captain kept switching between fluent English and French. He was very friendly and memorized all 12 of our names. We then enjoyed a delicious Tahitian-style lunch on a small private island, listening to our captain’s excellent singing. A great way to spend the day and if you don’t like snorkeling, the glass bottom of the boat gives a great view.
Such a highlight. We so enjoyed our guided snorkeling with a fun crew and finishing with a fabulous meal on Captain Taina's island. We felt like we were family, they are genuine and love what they do. We highly recommend this excursion!
Great snorkeling tour; we did see some turtles, sharks, rays and some underwater sculptures. The team was accomodaring and funny (sometimes too much so). On the privat island we had a few drinks and ate lunch, that was tasty (and gluten free versions weren’t a problem).
Fun & Amazing!! Every single part of this day was beautiful. Shamel and crew were so funny along the way and shared lots of information about Mo’orea’s history and culture. The lunch stop was more than lunch, great views, more time to swim, interact with more ocean life. Seeing so much diversity at once in the lagoon was fascinating. The crew really made this tour stand out… thank you so very much for a lovely day!
We had an amazing time with Captain Taina, and the live music on board was an unexpected bonus that ended up being one of my favorite parts of the experience. The tour included so many fun cultural touches, from snorkeling around the tiki statues to watching a demonstration of how to make traditional poisson cru. We also enjoyed fresh pineapple and delicious fish skewers. Our captains never made us feel rushed and took the time to make the experience enjoyable for everyone. We did the afternoon/sunset tour, and the ride back as the sun set over Moorea was simply breathtaking. And yes—you really do get to swim with stingrays and sharks! It sounds unbelievable until you're there. It was an unforgettable experience, and I highly recommend this tour.
What a great day - I'm not a confident swimmer but our guides were great and had a float available to make it much more enjoyable. The lunch and atmosphere was lovely, absolutely recommend.
Fabulous afternoon. Swimming with turtles, rays, sharks and looking at tiki and hearing the history. The staff were amazing and attentive to all of us who were not used to snorkeling. 'Clem' was very kind and looked after us very well in the water. He made the trip fun and very achievable for us all. The lunch was excellent and the tuna marinated in coconut salad was delicious. It was fun doing the dishes in the lagoon and watching the fish come for a little feed. Highly recommend Captain Taina glass bottom boat trip. The afternoon trip was very special with the sun seeing in the distance. Anne
Well - where do I start?.. This was the highlight of our stay in Moorea!, We really wanted to do this adventure, especially to get close to the sting rays. We had not booked as we did not know which part of the island we were staying at, nor where the tour operated from. Once we arrived at our accommodation (Hisbiscus Hotel), we found out that Captain Taina was only 500m done the road from us. We popped in hoping to pick up a tour, but they were fully booked. They did everything they could to try and get us on a tour - ringing a competitor, phoning back people who had also missed a tour, getting back to us if there was a cancellation. This was amazing communication! They needed a minimum of 6 people to make the tour viable. That evening we got a call and they were going to give us a tour, even though there were only 2 of us. Wow!! How special did we feel. Later that evening, they had more people that wanted to join the tour, so in the end we had a small group of 12 wonderful people to share the experience. Manu and Shab were our guides. Two comedians going head to head in a happy, respectful way making us laugh our heads off and making the tour a wonderful experience. We had an amazing lunch on their private island followed by snorkelling, swimming with a sting ray and checking out some amazing unique tiki’s under the water. If there is one thing you must do while on Moorea, it is this… Captain Taina Tours. Arohanui Tracy & Sue (NZ Kiwis)
Wonderful experience to see a variety of ocean animals and the beauty of Moorea. Our guide, Clem, was a wealth of information (biologist) and made everyone feel comfortable and welcome. Lunch was great! We are now fans of poisson cru! Thank you!
Sham and Manu were excellent guides. Lunch was fantastic and the whole experience was great. Highly recommend!
AMAZING!!!! The most greatest snorkeling with lunch tour I have ever had. You will not be disappointed. This team keeps you safe, They are well organized, and the lunch is out of this world...
Was the best part of our trip amazing staff and captain. Can’t recommend this enough.
Great day. The crew were fantastic; helpful, friendly, fun, and very competent. We saw green turtles, underwater tikis, and then black tipped sharks and rays. The crew took care of kids and marginal swimmers and gave everyone a wonderful experience. Lunch on their private island was delicious. Top recommendation.
Brilliant trip. The tour guide was professional, friendly and helpful, the boat captain was also great. My mum came and stayed on the boat while we snorkelled and the captain chatted to her as well as keeping an eye out for the rest of us. Brilliant food, great service and senses of humour. The tour was in French and English so we felt very included. Thanks!
We had an absolutely unforgettable day with Captain Tiana in Moorea! This was easily one of the highlights of our trip to French Polynesia. The entire crew was warm, professional, and clearly passionate about sharing the beauty of Moorea’s lagoon. The snorkeling was incredible—we had the chance to swim with sea turtles, rays, sharks, and tropical fish. The guides were knowledgeable, attentive and fun. The lunch on the private motu was delicious, with fresh local food. From start to finish, everything was well organized, relaxed, and enjoyable. If you’re visiting Moorea and looking for an unforgettable lagoon adventure, we cannot recommend Captain Tiana enough. Thank you Clement & Captain Tiana for the amazing memories—we would do this tour again. Shelley & Brian
It is a great location to see sharks. Nice lunch and island to have lunch.
We had a great time with Capt Taina team. The snorkeling was excellent lots of turtles, stingrays, sharks and fishes. The pickup from the ship and the return boat trip all good. Food and drinks on their private island and feeding the fish was fun.
After this tour was done, my family and I were talking at dinner saying this was one of the BEST tours we have ever booked. From the welcoming guides, to the glass bottom boat and the fantastic lunch, the tour was so well done and planned out. We were able to see lots of turtles, sharks and rays (that we were able to pet)! Lunch was fantastic and the beauty surrounding you on Moorea is unmatched. I HIGHLY recommend this tour! You won’t be disappointed!
We had such a great experience and a wonderful day on the water with Caroline! Three very different spots to snorkel and lunch on the motu was the best meal we’ve had yet with delicious poisson cru. I would absolutely do this again- highly recommend!
Clem was fantastic. I am not a strong swimmer, and he made me feel very comfortable and supported in deep water. I was able to enjoy the experience much more because of this, and snorkelling I otherwise would not have done.
It doesn’t matter what language you speak or where you are from. If you are blessed/lucky enough to enjoy a trip to the mystical world of the French Polynesia island of Moorea, this experience is a true difference maker. For us (me & my wife), everything starts and stops with culture. If you are a curious traveler wanting to soak in and be immersed by the unpredictable breaths of Mother Nature, and in particular, the romance of the sea and its natural creations, you’re at the right place. It felt like our +/- 5hrs together were educational, culturally prevalent, tasteful, respectful and hella fun! At the end of the journey, Sham (the tour guide, comedian, story teller, historian, life guard, chef, Ukulele rock star, and Manta Ray, Shark, Turtle whisperer turned into our friend. A trusted soul that loves what he does, and gave us so much joy, by leading us through deep sea snorkel trolling, guiding us on the history of the island, its people, its values, its rich abundance, All while gliding over the sea in a glass bottom boat/panga. We ate like Polynesian Kings & Queens, from the freshest fish cooked grilled on a private island at the edge of the reef, watching the large waves crash, but protected from the lava induced coral. This was a tour, with somewhat scripted activity and direction. But each day is filled with the unknown of the seas that in Moorea seems to always deliver. Highest recommendation and highest review. Ps. This is not an AI generated or curated review, it’s my own A+ experience taken straight from my travel journal.
Delicious food, comfortable boats, unforgettable experiences. A very professional operation. The gold standard of boat tours. We were two of only 18 passengers who didn’t speak French. The two guides effortlessly switched between French and English, and it almost felt like we had our own personalised commentary throughout the day. And the wildlife interactions… what do you mean your tour guides are besties with groups (“fevers”) of stingrays? Not since greeting my dog after a long absence have I seen animals respond to particular humans with such obvious enthusiasm and trust. One person literally cried with joy after stingray hugs and photo ops, and honestly, I don’t blame them. We also lucked out and swam with around 8-12 eagle rays at a respectful distance, which has left me mildly obsessed with them. The guides were knowledgeable, witty, and had impeccable vibes throughout. It was especially meaningful chatting with one of them about Tahitian indigenous language and culture. Ia Ora Na! Māuruuru Noa! Kia ora from your Pacific cousins in Aotearoa New Zealand. Spectacular tour. Do not miss it. We went solo kayaking in some of the same areas the day before, which was already fantastic, but this completely blew our expectations out of the water (pun unintended).
Absolutely amazing day. So far it’s been the highlight of our 18 day holiday. Could not fault a thing, was treated like VIPs from the minute we were picked up & everything was way beyond our expectations from the snorkelling spots to the fantastic lunch on the private Moto. Cam & Mamu (?) were fantastic. I booked this tour based on the reviews and I’m so glad we did. Do yourself a favour and take this tour - you will not be disappointed
The girl who was in charge of our boat was awesome, she made the whole experience, great personality, I wish I remembered her name. The snorkeling was great, the lunch was fantastic. Do not miss this, highly recommend, would do it again
We had an outstanding experience with the Captain Taina tour group. Swan is a delight! Knowledgeable, fun, and he provided great musical entertainment with his ukulele. The snorkeling was excellent - a highlight was seeing a fever of 20 eagle rays (that I counted). Lunch was a treat, and I had a spontaneous Polynesian dance with a staff member. Highly recommend!!!
It was a good day trip overall. The staff were kind and the food was delicious. The main highlight—something not all tours offer—is the chance to swim with turtles. You don’t always see many, as it depends on how calm the lagoon is, but in good conditions you can spot them more easily. The same goes for the leopard rays. One downside was the time management. There were three swimming spots, all quite close to each other, yet we spent a lot of time waiting around on the boat instead of being in the water. Each stop was fairly short (around 30 minutes), so it felt like time could have been used better. That said, I booked this tour specifically to swim with turtles, and for that experience, it delivers. If that’s what you’re looking for, it’s a good choice. Alternatively, renting a small boat or a kayak could give you a similar experience at your own pace—just without the included lunch.
Great experience for me on the small boat for the half day trip. It was the first time I tried snorkeling and the monitor Clement helped me overcome my fears. He explained clearly the history of the island and the underwater tikis. We saw turtles, raies, fish and small sharks. I enjoyed the meal on the island too.
A fantastic way to explore beautiful Moorea
What an amazing day with the crew at Captain Taina. We did the afternoon glass bottom boat ride. This started with a delicious healthy meal prepared in front of us on their private island followed by some snorkeling around the island. Then we drifted in the channel and saw at least 10 turtles hanging out at the bottom. Then the unforgettable hanging out with the sting rays and sharks and finally to snorkeling around the tikis in the channel. The team was fund and friendly. The boat was not too crowded and everyone had a blast. One of the best thing was actually hanging out by the Captain Taina's Pontoon and doing more snorkeling, running the drone and hanging out until sunset. Dreamy crazy dreamy. Don't leave early and miss that part!!
This was an amazing trip we were able to see turtles raise sharks. Everyone was super professional, very friendly. It was. Everybody was very very knowledgeable. The lunch was delicious. I would go back and do this booking in a moment instant, and would recommend it to all of my friends….
Turtles, tikis, sharks, and rays. Great snorkeling tour. Great tour guides. Best lunch of the whole trip! The tuna and grilled kabobs.
Captain Taina lagoon tour was the highlight of our trip to Moorea. The activities were fun and educational, the lunch on the private island was delicious and the staff were amazing! I really appreciate the small group size on the tour as other tours were too crowded. Caroline and Moana were fun and engaging and took great care of our group.
This tour was amazing and an absolute must do in Moorea! We loved swimming with the turtles, sharks and stingrays! This tour is the perfect way to explore the pristine blue waters of Moorea. The guides are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The traditional lunch on the private island was a huge bonus and added that wow factor to the tour. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Moorea!
This was such an amazing day! Swimming with Stingrays was the highlight of my trip! Clem was an awesome tour guide. He was very attentive! I really appreciate that Clem kept checking in on me and kept me close when he noticed my breathing was shallow. (I don't like having my nose covered, can't breathe properly). Thanks for a great experience!
Best lagoon tour in Moorea. Captain Teri and our guide Moana created an exceptional experience for our family. They are both from the island and shared their love of their island and its wildlife. We ate lunch on a private island swam with turtles rays and sharks. Moana’s positive attitude was contagious. This was a memory that our family will never forget. Highly recommend.
We really enjoyed this trip. Well organised and the snorkelling was AMAZING. Lunch was set up in the water with stingrays and fish swimming underneath the tables. Would recommend as a super trip for singles couples or families of all ages. Thank you for a great day out.
We thoroughly enjoyed this snorkeling tour and loved every minute. We got to meet and connect with other guests while getting to know a little bit of Mo’orea’s history and marine life. Our tour guide, Clem, and captain Manu were very attentive to others who needed more help than others and led us where we would see turtles, sharks, big fish and beautiful corals.
Wonderful experience with captain Terry and our snorkelling guide “Moana”. We saw eagle rays, green turtles and black tipped reef sharks. V special encounter with friendly sting rays and a sensitive introduction to Polynesian art at the sunken statues The team could not do enough to ensure our small group had the best experience. Great 6 hrs
This is the best! Caroline was very thorough, friendly and informative. The lunch was wonderful. The snorkeling was amazing and we were able to see many turtles, fish, sharks, sting rays and eagle rays. Can’t say enough about how great this is-a must!
We had an absolutely fantastic day with Captain Taina and our guide Caroline. From the moment we stepped on the boat, we felt completely welcome and well taken care of. Captain Taina is clearly very experienced and navigates the lagoon with great confidence and calm, which made the whole trip feel safe and relaxed. Caroline was an outstanding guide. Her knowledge of the lagoon, the marine life and the island was impressive, and she shared everything with genuine enthusiasm and warmth. She made sure everyone felt comfortable and helped us experience the reef and the wildlife in the best possible way. It was one of those rare days where everything just works – beautiful surroundings, incredible nature, and people who clearly love what they do. Thank you for a truly memorable experience. We would recommend this trip to anyone visiting Moorea.
