Fantastic afternoon learning about Mo’orea from a local perspective —the people, culture, history, economy, and the incredible land and ocean that make this island so special. I highly recommend taking this tour early in your stay. You’ll come away with a deeper appreciation for the island and plenty of great recommendations for places to explore, restaurants to try, and hikes to enjoy during your visit.

My husband and I had a great experience on the 4x4 tour of Moorea island which we believe was well worth the money with Moorea Albert Tours. Although the day we took the tour had some serious rain, we still appreciated the introduction to the island we were given. A special thank you to Patrick our guide and driver and to Moua (not sure of the spelling, my apologies ) who was the gentleman who picked us up from the ferry dock and drove us to the meeting point to begin the tour. Thank you for everything!
Your was wonderful! We learned so much from William and saw so many beautiful places. Loved learning about Moorea from someone that grew up here.
We had a great tour with our guide Coco. I highly recommend taking this half day tour instead of trying to do it yourself.
Awesome way to see Moorea! We highly recommend!
The guide was a local man with great knowledge of his home island. Has a great laugh and very friendly nature. The trip involved lots of stops at places of real interest. Great views, a chance to see farming, friendly eels, crafts and sample some of the local liquor. Highly recommended
Fun, interesting, learnt heaps about the Island that we didn’t know. Loved learning about the pineapple factory and wine etc
While the tour of the first two hours of tour was fairly good, we were disappointed with the experience due to excessive shopping stops. After the first shopping stop, we clearly told the driver that we were not interested in shopping, the driver became noticeably unhappy, which made the rest of the trip uncomfortable. We don’t know if any tour package has some shopping stops, but when guests politely decline, their wishes should be respected.
It is a great trip around the island with plenty of photo ops of the scenery and feeding the eels was really cool.
Our guide Gerard was great! He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the island. He treated us to a great 4+ hour tour.
Moorea was our last port before our return to Los Angeles on Sapphire Princess. Our guide JJ was waiting for us at the cruise terminal. He helped us into the back of a newer F150 Ford truck that had cushoined seats and seat belts. We had 7 passengers in our group, so we were not crowded. JJ let us know the itinerary and then we're on our way... We first drove to a river where JJ "called" an eel to feed and to give us a look at this big long black creature. After we all climbed back into the truck we stop to see a pineapple farm. The local farmer came by and gave JJ a pineapple for our group to try a sample. It was the sweetest and juiciest pineapple I had ever tasted. We then drove up to Belvedere for a gorgeous views and had samples of local fruit breads. Next stop was a 300 yr old open air temple with lots chicken hanging out there. Our last site was a view point with a cool rope swing being used as a seat to get your picture taken with a breathtaking view of the ocean. At the end of the tour we were taken to a black pearl shop were were told how the black pearls are harvested from oysters. It is an interesting process. JJ was an excellent tour guide and driver at each stop he told us of the history and culture. He was very courteous and kind. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this excursion!!!!
The best part of this tour wasn’t the individual stops, but getting an overview of the stunning scenery - the mountains and bays of northern and central Moorea. I have a sensitive back, but I wasn’t bothered at all by the roads. The seats are soft and comfortable, which really helps. It was a nice touch that some of the sites were owned by the family company hosting the tour - it made the experience feel more personal and genuine. There were four of us tourists in total, and we shared a pleasant time together. Tips: Double-check your pick-up time and bring water.
We travelled with another couple. Tender boats were slow from the cruise ship but Jay Jay was there waiting for us to arrive. The tour was very well organized and informative. We saw beautiful sites that we never could have on our own. Highly recommend this company for your Island adventure.
Excursion cancelled 15 minutes before departure, no refund issued to date despite several follow-ups, no response to my emails. The worst service ever.
We had no experience. There were 4000 people getting tendered off of our ship and it was very disorganized. Many people were able to get off before us, but it took us longer and the tour left without us. We appreciate the fact that they waited as long as they did for us. I’m sure it was a very good tour, but we didn’t get it.
We booked and paid online, and arrived at the meeting point on time, saw 2 people in the truck, and while our group of 5 walked around the carpark looking for the driver, he drove away with the vacant seats and didn't respond to our waving. The phone was answered by someone from a different company, but we did receive a refund after emailing our complaint.
Excellent tour cover everything he detailed and more, great and spectacular views fun trip and Excellent smiling tour guide.
JJ had so much island knowledge which he delivered in an informative and fun way. The tour was very interesting with some stunning sights up some less than stunning roads/tracks.
Perfect tour of the island to be introduced and see the interior and learn about the culture and the island and its people. Lots of fun stops and demonstrations and a rum tasting too
Our tour operator, Ari was amazing! He’s kind, enthusiastic, and his laugh is contagious. Our family had such a great time, Ari made the whole experience fun and informative. The ride was fine with seat belts, though there’s a short bumpy stretch, so if you have neck issues it’s best to sit up front with Ari. We’re so glad we booked this tour, highly recommend!
Brilliant tour giving us the flavour of the flora and fauna and life on Moorea. The freshwater eels were a particular highlight.
Safe way to see some high points of Moorea. Guide gave good information & kept us safe. Relieved that I was able to reschedule the outing rather than cancel and lose payment.
Gerard our guide was the best, with great knowledge! I would recommend this tour to anybody visiting Moorea and wanting to learn more about the History of the Island and its beautiful Maunga.
Our guide Gerald was super friendly and patient. He involved our son a lot in the activities. He was super friendly and made everybody laugh. He added a nice touch of traditional Tahitian culture.
Went on the excursion with my family and we had a great time with our guide. He was friendly and had lots of great info he shared at all the stops. Every in the group had a fun time! Time flew right by!
Our tour guide Gerard was a amazing guide with a lot of enthusiasm and humor. He was very knowledgeable. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting moorea.
This was a 4 hour tour ith 6 other people. We saw lots of the island thanks to out guide. Jo. Jo. My wife had foldable mobile scooter. No issues.
This tour is a perfect, small introduction to some of the many wonders of Moʻorea. Heiva and his dad both are knowledgeable, solid tour guides that go into a lot of detail about the places they take you and make the experience and journey magical. Also Heiva is just an all around solid braddah who will go out of his way to make sure his guests / tour attendees are taken care of. Even though it was raining throughout the day on our tour it didn’t dampen the mood at all and it was still a dope tour. Highly recommend Albert Tours for whatever you need, be it airport transfers or land tours. 🤙🏽 Mahalo again my friend for everything
Awesome tour guide and a great way to see the island that would be difficult to navigate yourself. Helps if you are bilingual to be able to interact with other guests
Great stops and experience. The guide was fun and knowledgeable. Unfortunately the tour was drawn out by the fact they overcrowded the vehicle with people from hotels spread across the island requiring us to spend an hour taxing people to far hotels on both the out and back. Anyone staying near the ferry was stuck for more than their fair share of time - wasted time in a beautiful island.
Gerald was excellent! The tour was done in both French and English. His knowledge and good off road driving skills made this trip both fun and informative. And, of course, lots of great views of the island!
Tour has the option to pick up from outside the Moorea ferry terminal from Tahiti (means a 6:10 ferry for the morning trip). First stop is the islands main viewpoint, then various photo stops on the way to some ruins, pineapple fields and large fresh water eels. All interesting but doesn't cover much ground. The highlight seems to be eating pineapple and coconut picked on the spot. Afterwards there's alcohol tasting in a shop then jam tasting at a pearl shop. Could have done without the second shop. Final stop at a swing up a hill with views over some of the up market hotels. Driver was funny and made not very much seem more interesting than it was. A good way to see Moorea for those who don't mind bumping over single track potholes, but a bit underwhelming. Worth being aware many of the tours get cancelled. The jeeps can only take 8 people and need a minimum passenger load to be viable.
What an amazing day. Full of information and laughs. Beautiful scenery and wonderful sights. Gerard, our tour guide is kind, polite, considerate, funny and very informative. He was on time (actually a bit early) to pick up us then dropped us back to ferry so we can go to Tahiti. The day went by fast and it was more than expected. 5 star service. Thanks so much.
We did not go to magic mountain which was the reason for booking. We made a rum purchase after the tasting and forgot it in the truck, the tour provider did not return it to us. They drop you have at your hotel so he could have returned it to the front desk.
4 isn't really enough; should be about 4.7. But I'm not allowed to use decimals, and, like the skating judges at the Olympics, I've got to preserve some room at the top. This tour was worth the early reveille call required to catch the Tahiti-Moorea ferry. (It's unfortunate that the last ferry from Moorea departs too early for any company to do two half-day tours within the ferry's hours. Morning was better, as it was getting quite hot by mid-day). The tour featured spectacular viewpoints (not scarce on Moorea), the foundations of a pre-missionary Polynesian worship site, a drive through a pineapple and guava plantation, and a visit to a distillery where sampling various fruit-infused rums was a treat. An opportunity to buy for take-home, but no pressure to do so. A particular highlight was a meal of pineapple and guava on washed leaves serving as plates. Little compares to eating fruit so fresh one has seen it cut. Carlos, our guide, told us that the pineapple variety we were eating was not export; they keep the good stuff for themselves (and fortunate tourists like us). Carlos was a fine guide who made the extra effort to insure that his group (only five of us total) had a good time. A word should also be said for the manager Tamui who handled our late-notice time change both telephonically and by email in a very clear manner, and graciously.
We were so looking forward to this guided tour experience but the weather did not cooperate. Moana, our tour guide, arrived on time for our hotel pickup. Moana discussed the impact of the heavy rains and changing weather and we mutually decided to postpone the tour for our safety and the overall experience. Bummer. We had seen great reviews about Moana and have had great experiences with Albert Tours, prior. It just wasn’t meant to be. We are super appreciative of Moana and Albert Tours for putting our safety and enjoyment first. We will try again next time!
Albert is just amazing! Not only incredibly knowledgeable but a superb person and truly funny! Had the best day exploring the island!
We had a very enjoyable tour of Moorea with Albert Tours. Our guide, Heiva, was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We would highly recommend him. He took us to some lovely and interesting places and we felt lucky to have him show us around his beautiful island. A very enjoyable trip.
We absolutely loved this 4 hour safari. There was a bit of rough terrain and the sky decided to open but the guide Gerard was so helpful. We took our 11 year old daughtwr and she loved it. A special treat for her was getting to try the juices at Rotui which we were not expecting. Totally loved it & if the gods permit we would definitely come back. Kiwis from Lake Taupo.
Operator was very disrespectful. Would not recommend. Better to choose one of the other truly local providers, not a company that basically runs the entire island.
Disrespectful operator. Best to choose an operator who doesn't seem to run pretty much all of the island's transport.
Amazing excursion. Really great value and will absolutely recommend. Authentic local food, snorkelling and a great show in the end
Fantastic tour of the inner island, including pineapple plantations and beautiful views of the bays. The guide’s love and care for his island was apparent in every word. Highly recommended.
Amazing trip. Our guide was wonderful he picked us up and other couples and we were on our way. Very informative and exciting to go up the mountain trails. To see all of the sights and beautiful nature with breathtaking views. Thank you for such an incredible trip!
What a great day! Our guide Gerard was very personable and knowledgable! The open air 4x4 was a fun way to see the sights. We were able to check out a few amazing lookouts, a sacred temple, see huge fresh water eels, taste delicious pineapple, jams, juices and liquor! He packed a lot into four hours. Great tour for the price! Highly recommend!
Just fabulous and much better than hiring a car !!! Fabulous guide, great tour locations and lots of local knowledge. Even organised lunch an a lift back to the ferry for us as we travelled over from Papeete for the day tour . Highly recommend 😎
We had a great 4-hour 4x4 tour of Moorea. Visited beautiful places. Learned interesting history. The Belvédère viewpoint was a highlight as well as visiting a pineapple farm. Also enjoyed the visit to the ancient native temple. Tour guide provided helpful and contextual insight to what we were looking at all along the tour. Picked us up and dropped us off from our Villa rental. Overall we were satisfied with our tour.
Disappointed the tour was cancelled 20 mins before departure! Not good at communicating. Wouldn’t answer my queries!
Amazing! We were picked up directly from our hotel and dropped off at the same. So much info packed into a few hours and a great value. Gerard was so nice. Highly recommended!
Was given a pick up time of 1330. Strange as the tour started at 1300. Waited outside until 1415 but no sign of tour operator ans no phone call. Very poor and disappointing for me to waste so much time for something that was not going to happen
