Great information and the ability for my kid to actually be there will help with retaining the information. You may want to put that you then have to walk back to your car because it doesn't end where you started.

Great experience! Would recommend, easy to setup and follow, if you’re looking for something fun definitely check out this tour!
Easy to use, well done, learned a lot. I appreciated the knowledge of history, culture, and community. Glad I did this.
I couldn’t figure out the directions. I visited the Legacy museum and took their shuttles to their other three exhibits. They were exceptional.
I had made an error on the date and Greg quickly responded to me. This was my first self guided walking tour. He gave me all the information needed to download app and do tour.. I enjoyed.
Great experience seeing all of the sites. The app was easy to use and the narration was very helpful and informative.
So educational and interesting. I knew a lot of this history but to hear it while walking in the actual place it took place made it come to life. And while the events are horrific, it was told factually and not with bitterness; even though anger and bitterness are legitimate reactions and feelings.
This was an informative and interesting tour. It was paced accurately and the speaker was easy to understand. Directions were clear and we never got lost or turned around.
Very good tour. We learned lots about the civil rights movement in Montgomery as well as Selma. Very well done. Clear commentary. Walking distance was about 1 1/2 miles, possibly more than needed. If walking is challenging, you can cut out the loop by the courthouse.
We really enjoyed this tour. The narrator provided an interesting overview of Montgomery history in a very clear language. The timing was excellent as we moved from one site to another, accompanied by clear descriptions of our route. It was easy to access the tour on my phone. I will definitely look for more WalknTours as we travel.
the welcoming feeling I received in Montgomery Alabama was horrible!! arrived after being on a bus for hours !! then too have nobody waiting for me at the bus stop! greyhound.. ... then the city council official .. never responded to me at. all .. on the business aspect.. !!! .... !!
This is an excellent museum for learning more about the history of the Civil Rights movement. The focus on Birmingham is very helpful.
I couldn’t access it and couldn’t get a refund . It was very frustrating and disappointing . The platform is very hard to use
Tour was easy to follow and directions were clear. Very informative. Enjoyed learning about Montgomery history and segregation.
The narration was interesting and informative. The instructions were also very easy to use. It was nice to be able to go at your own pace and stop and start if you wanted to.
It was a very good presentation. I actually paid for the presentation again. Plans became a little confusing because.
Good experience. I like the fact that you can interrupt the tour for museums and the continue afterward.
The directions were clear and the stories interesting. Timing a bit off for us but allows you to stop and reflect. Use the pause button.
Really straightforward way of doing a walking tour at a time that suits you, and at a pace that suits as well. Easy to set up and follow, added links in the app and good audio quality. Content was excellent as well! Recommended.
Great option to take your time to see the important sites. It was really hot that day, so I opted to drive from stop to stop, instead of walking. Since it was Labor Day, the entire downtown area was desolate, so I could pull over and didn't have to look for parking. The narration was easy to understand. The sound effects really added to the experience.
It was really nice. I didn’t know before that Montgomery was that rich and deep in history. I just thought it was like most historical places in the South. I like that the tour is self-paced and you choose whenever you want to get started. I would definitely do self paced GPS again ! Very informative and I liked they also would play actual voice recordings (MLK, jr.) on some landmarks.
Excellent EXCELLENT walking tour, great audio, easy to follow. Lots of superb information. We learned so much about Montgomery and went to places we otherwise would have not seen!
My grandson who is 17 loved it. My daughter did 75% and my husband and i drove. We enjoyed it. The app was a little difficult. I may have paid for it two + times
The navigation in the app was paced well and accurate. I recommend visiting the museums along the way to cool off. The Rosa Parks museum was exceptional. Although it's not on the tour, visit the Alabama Bicentennial Park which is a spectacular bronze statue Park right before the Alabama capital.
Amazing views and great knowledge but poor directions and didn't tell us how to get back.Mostly all the attractions was closed please note this on your site when booking if the main attractions are closed.
Very cool experience. Little quirky getting it set up downloading the app not paying for it twice etc, and had trouble viewing the pictures that were talked about. Walked to some places and i guess i didn't get to the correct spot so I would fast forward it to get the narrator to come back on. I liked it though.
Do not try to use unless you are smart phone smart. I am and gave up. Finally called to get a refund
Very interesting. We learned several facts we didn't know. Enjoyed the walk around town. Ate a famous hotdogs! Cute from the Capitol was fabulous.
Easy to follow once we got app loaded. Clear commentary and directions. A very good historical overview of Civil Rights in Alabama.
The app was very easy to use and offered interesting information about Montgomery. Efficient navigation and perfect directions made following the route seamless. Definitely recommend this app!
This tour was a great way to learn all about the rich civil rights history of Montgomery. The information was clear both with historical and directional information. You can pause at anytime and resume when you are ready. Loved this!
A well narrated tour of Civil Rights history in Montgomery. The app worked well, the directions were clear, and the content was top notch.
It was a great tour that we could do at our own pace while visiting all of the great Civil Rights places right in Montgomery. It was so affordable, easy to follow, and just a great tour with fabulous narration.
Great tour. A wealth of personal testimonials, and seeing close up allowed us to experience the Movement as if we were there in real time.
Makes navigating the city easy, well paced and easy to follow. It brings the places to life and gives you a great overview. Helped us decide what else we wanted to take a closer look at.
Great narration and informative. Appreciated the route and information shared. I would recommend renting a scooter to travel along the route and listen. The roads are relatively empty in the late afternoon/evening.
The narrative was well written and well spaced. It was about a 2.5 mile walk, and the sites chosen were perfect. Very moving
The tour was insightful and illuminated the history I was not taught in school. I find it interesting that the beginning of the Civil War and the Civil Rights movement were both in Montgomery. Where there is darkness, the light is able to shine the brightest. Thank you Rosa Parks, Dr. King and all the other brave women and men for the light you brought.
The narration and directions to each location was perfect. The tour was informative, the route wasn’t too long however wear good walking shoes to maneuver a few inclines.
A moving experience. Being from the UK neither of us was as aware of the past wrongs that we should have been
The walk was well paced. The directions were clear, as was the guidance arrow. The sound effects and music added to the experience. I was surprised and looking for a bus until I figured out it was a sound effect. The narrative provided enough insight and if the listener wished to delve further, the museums along the way provided that.
Good walking tour. Not a difficult walk if you are in any kind of shape. Definitely makes the area come to life. It would not have had the impact walking the path without the narration and sounds. Note: there is one part where police sirens go off in the audio….don’t freak out like I did. :)
need to edit my previous post. I neglected to check my email which all the directions were listed. Communications with the tour guide excellent. I missed the audio version of the tour because I did not open the appropriate link for from his email. The tour is absolutely beautiful, very well preserved old town Montgomery, Alabama. The walking tour reveals a lot of American history in the flight for civil rights for our brothers. The bravery of Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, and so many others is evident in this tour. It is a messy if you are in Montgomery. After you purchase the tour, please check your email!
The self guided tour was very well laid out and very informative. You can take as long as you need and days. We learned alot from this Walk of Freedom. I would definitely book it!
We were unable to locate the link in the email. We ended up walking a tour, parts of the tour on our own. We never got a chance to listen to the audio. The walk was still beautiful and fascinating and reading. All the signage was useful, but just a little mad at myself that I did not find the links in the email sooner
this was a great look.at the history of civil rights. What a role Montgomery played! The only complication was that a bad storm came up and we had to delay to the next day. TheViator app would not give me access ... they sharef walkntours phone number and i quickly got access. Viator reps need to be aware this tour has indefinite access.
What a great way to see the top spots on your own. App was easy to use and had clear instructions. It knew right where I was on the route and pointed out all the important spots. Only thing I would recommend is that your phone has a full charge, the GPS really drained my iPhone battery.
This was really great. An on-your-own walking tour of several key historic landmarks in beautiful Montgomery. I was just passing through town but wanted to get a little taste of the important events and locations in Montgomery. The tour was perfect! It's at your own pace (takes about an hour), provides clear directions and good content. Highly Recommended!!
Got there to do the walk, but changed mind. So we did not walk. Signs were well displayed of the history.
Not sure if I already wrote a review of this, but in case I didn't, I definitely recommend this. It was clear, easy to follow, easy to pause while I explored the various museums and locations. I learned a lot during the day I spent following this tour around Montgomery. You can take as long or as short as you want. I went on one of the hottest weekend days of the year. Downtown was deserted. The heat was tough, but the walk around town was worth it, and I wouldn't really have known where to go or what to do if I'd been making it up on my own. My experience with the walking tour was good enough that I bought the Selma one for the next day and did that one too.
