The bikes were definitely not fancy and well used, the owner was very nice. We had a slow leak in one tire, called for assistance and the bike was promptly replaced.

Nobody was there at address, these people do not let anyone know beforehand. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME We met anoiuther couple on the same cruise that had a guided tour booked Sunday the 7th no show for them as well.
The bike rack was quick & easy to find, but it was not at first clear who was responsible for it. Once we went into the shop near it, we found the man responsible and everything went smoothly. Back tire on one of our bikes was low and we had to add air at a gas station. Also, the seat kept falling down until we figured out how to tighten it better. Chain came off once as well. No major issues, just small annoyances. Enjoyed 3 1/2 hours of lovely biking along the ocean as well as through town. Good bike locks. Owner was very friendly.
Ship arrived late and guide waited but it cut the tour short. Bikes are in disrepair and no helmets provided. Seats were deteriorated, gears didn’t work, and no brakes, only manual brakes by using pedals, which is scary on hills. Guide rode extremely slow through crowded streets which made it difficult to steer and navigate. Unsure why they would take you through crowded pedestrian streets. Unfortunately, cannot recommend.
I'm so glad I did this! Rather than expensive cab rides across town to see everything I wanted to see, I took advantage of the nice weather and Orange Bike's very reasonable prices to rent a bike. The communication was great (WhatsApp messaging in English or Spanish), the bike was clearly used but indestructible on the sometimes-rough roads and sidewalks (and I'm confident that had I experienced an issue, I would have gotten an immediate response from the company). I had the freedom to explore any part of Montevideo that I wanted. A lock was supplied so I wasn't worried about theft. Plus, my hotel had clearly worked with them before and stored the bike in their garage overnight for me. Overall, the best way to get the most out of your time in Montevideo.
Bikes were not great - one had handlebars that were out of alignment making it an uncomfortable experience to ride. Bikes were not clean and we did not get any helmets. Friendly service though, and easy to organise.
Super easy to rent bikes from Orange Bike. They delivered to our place on time and the next day found where we had locked them and took them away without even bothering us! (They let us know, of course.) Terrific value for the price ($15 CAD for 24 hours). We recommend this service highly. The bikes are not really well-maintained, however. Eg: chains haven't been oiled in a long time; all gears not always functioning. One of our bikes was making loud noises, so we contacted the company and they directed us to an Orange Bike depot that was luckily nearby. So try the bike out before you take it away. Highly recommended to bike the Rambla! We went from la Ciudad Vieja to Malvin Beach in about an hour and a half, mostly flat and well maintained bike path the whole way.
We had the best experience with them. Texted them, that we need 2 bikes, 1/2 later they got delivered to our Airbnb, easy payment options, super nice people. Next day we called them again, they came and picked them up, everything smooth and very professional. Highly recommended and so much fun exploring the city and biking along the promenade. Perfect experience …. Thanks … Carsten
Should you ever visit the capital of Uruguay on a cruise, I highly recommend renting a bike from Orange Bike. They are within minutes walking distance from the cruise port, have excellent bikes to rent (by European standards) for very reasonable rates. On top the lady who runs the shop is exceptionally helpful and friendly. Montevideo is generally a bike-friendly city with wide boardwalks and bike lanes.
I wanted to hire bikes for myself and young kids (6 &9yrs) and the staff at Orange bike hire spoke English and had a variety of bike options to suit. We hired good quality bikes, and a bike trailor for my youngest, bike locks and instructions for getting around or emergency help (flat tyres etc). We had a great day riding along the Rambla, stopping for lunch at Pocitos then coming back again. Safe easy riding with younger kids.
From start to finish, we had the best service and great time. Thank you for the rental! Highly recommend
great experience with the bike rental. We rented 2 bicycles for the whole day. They even allowed us, to leave the bicycles at our hotel, so they can collect them form there. They also have a help number and in any bar or restaurant they can help with the phone call, in case of a problem with the bike.
We only had one day in Montevideo. We walked off our ship and then about 2 blocks to the Orange bike shop. The person in front of us was a little slow, but there was no problem to get 2 really good bikes for a half-day rental We went down curbs, up curbs, over some really rough broken up pavement, and the bikes handled it well. We had 10 other friends with us, and I think we had the best experience because we had these good bikes!
I called in advance, made the reservation. Good bicycles, all in orange. I asked for a map, which was helpful. I also asked for some tips about places to be seen. Montevideo is a city for bikes. Enjoy.
We rode about 30km return along the Rambla on Orange bikes, which were better than we expected for a rental bike with a basket! They rolled smoothly, were easy to pedal, and had no mechanical problems. However, ... the customer service was terrible. He mumbled to us over his mobile phone, didn't get the bikes out, didn't check them or adjust the seat heights, or provide contact details in case of problems or offer a map. The service nearly made us walk away, but in the end we're glad we took the bikes.
They delivered the bike on time, but I'd rather have had the option of choosing another bike, I pedal, so this basic is very bad. But the experience was good
We rented two bicycles at the ibis hotel. The river is a delight and quite long. We made 28km without getting out of it. We also stopped to bathe in 3 beach points. It was 36 degrees and the water was a delight. A mix of river and sea. Take money to buy water along the way and enjoy the sunset.
I had 1 day off in Montevideo and decided to lease an Orange Bike. I went alone down Rambla, with a map and you're done! The bike works very well, it has a padlock that allows you to leave it parked anywhere and walk. Miguel brought me the bike to the hotel in 30 minutes since I called. I had some doubts and always answered the phone. Have fun expect ass!
Excellent Service. They take it to your hotel and the bikes are in great condition. I recommend rolling on the ramblas and trying to watch the sunset
Travelling to the capital of Uruguay using the idea that the real is valued more than the weight is a fatal mistake! With the dollarized economy, Montevidéu is an invitation to join the SPC and every purchase on the card we suffer a mini heart attack when the bank sends the billing message. But not all are thorns. We live one of the most fantastic experiences of all our trips pedaling the "bicis" of the Orange Bike. We received our bicycles on our Airbnb, punctually at the scheduled time and we pedalled for nine hours, stopping at Rhodes Park, at the Montevideo sign, at the harbour to buy tickets for Buquebus, at the Teatro Solís and all over Old Town. At the end of the day, already tired, we could have left the bicycles at Orange Bike’s headquarters, but we decided to save on Uber and back pedaling. Miguel was punctual again and picked them up on schedule. All this rotating with a 4-year-old kid who was having fun in the chair. If you come to Montevideo, the bike ride is a must!
The rental of a simple bike for a full day, with return at the hotel that you are staying, costs 350 pesos. The bikes could be better, but they go well, the care of the blonde blue-eyed lady was excellent.
Rent a city bike for the day. The bike was in perfect condition, the gears and brakes worked perfectly. They give you a phone number to call in case something happens to you (which luckily you don’t) and they pick you up or whatever you need. As for price I thought it was fair since you can use it as much as you want during the full day. Thanks for the Service!
I loved the treatment of Estela very friendly and punctual. The bikes give them without any processing. I was shocked by the trust, we just gave our names, the name of the hotel, paid and done. Wow I was shocked with confidence and how easy it was. plus it promotes you a whatsapp in case you puncture yourself and go and change your bike right away. Mega recommend, the place is in the historic center open from 10 am to wings 6 pm. Don't stop doing it
The place is located a few meters from the Port Market in the Pedestrian Perez Castellano that reaches the Port of Montevideo. It is ideal for travelers who get off cruise ships and want to take a tour of the Old City of Montevideo. Although they are not used regularly, they can do so without problems because in addition to the pedestrian that goes down to the port there is another, the Sarandi Pedestrian, which leads to Plaza Independencia de Montevideo and also bicycles that allow to walk quietly without fear of cars! It's worth taking this walk!
It was my first visit to Montevideo, and I was able to explore the city using a bike. The city has a structure for bicycle traffic, and they are respected by vehicles and pedestrians. The bicycles rented at Orange Bike are good, and are in good condition for use/lease. I rented one for 5 days in a row, and it was an excellent experience, with great cost. I recommend.
When it comes to Price, Service and Service, they are by far the best in town. The best (and most economical) way to travel Montevideo if you do not have a car or if you want to enjoy 100% the environment, both the city itself and the Rambla bordering the river.
Excellent attention from all the staff, very good quality prices of the bikes, long hours , they take you to where you are staying if you order them and if you have any inconvenience they solve it immediately, they are the best always rent with orange when I am in Montevideo
Excellent Service and attention! First we consulted on facebook and they responded very quickly and when we went to get the bikes and return them they were very friendly, we had no problem and enjoyed the bikes very much. I recommend them! Thank you!
Excellent treatment, sympathy, kindness and very good disposition. Divine and super comfortable bikes! I went with my 1-year-old baby and the bike seat safe and suitable for her to travel quiet and comfortable. Geniuses, really! We were upgraded over routes, tourist places and advised places where we could go. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. We'll go again!
Fairly good bikes with chain lock, gear, bell (on one of our bikes) and good brakes. We only lacked lighting as the sun sets quite early. Good Service. Excellent service.
We rented a couple of bikes to be able to ride on two wheels, the best known places, we were able to get very far, the bikes in this sense hold up quite well. I enjoyed being able to have information about other free activities at the place where you can rent the bike, plus in some cases you can leave the bike at your hotel so that the Orange staff can remove them.
Service that exceeded my expectations, friendly treatment, Availability (in covers), support and solution to everything requested. If you are a tourist and want to know our wonderful city this is an economical and very enjoyable option. If you’re from here but you still haven’t decided to buy the bike or you don’t have room in your house to have one, this is the way to enjoy this pleasure whenever you want.
We rented 2 bikes in the old town, friendly Service but at $10 per bike for half a day very expensive. Due gear shifting did not work for both wheels, in one also 3x the rusted chain jumped off. Poorly maintained wheels. We wouldn't rent there again. On Calle Florida there is a bike dealer who also rents for $8 for a whole day!
It's easy to understand because there are orange bicycles on the street. It's not just the orange bike on the front, there's an 18-speed transmission in the back, and it's in good condition. Bethania, who is cheerful and kind in the shop, tells me a lot.
Rental of 4 bikes per day with a follower for our daughter of 6 years. Very good communication ras. Very correct price less than 30€ Thank you!!
We left at the agreed time. We went with fernando guarneri a superprofessional guide 20 km em bike that made it very fun and cultural. the perfect bike. to return
We rented two bikes with the Orange Bike, for 24 hours and we loved the services of the Enterprise. The super friendly service of a very kind lady. The bicycles are new and in perfect operation, super easy to walk, with very light marches. When we return to Montevideo, we will surely rent again at Orange Bike. I recommend it to everyone. Walking around the city by bicycle is wonderful.
