It was incredible from the beginning to end. Christian wasn’t amazing host and taught us so very much about tasting wine, the process and challenges. The cava was gorgeous and the wines and food pairings were wonderful. We never felt at all rushed, and he took all the time necessary to make sure we had a great experience. I always say I’m not a red wine fan, but now I think I’ve been transformed! Bravo!
Lovely personal tour of the facility. Excellent food and wine, thoroughly enjoyed it! You Should know that the transportation to and from the port is not included which will be Another $50-&60 USD.
The journey out of the city meant we saw the agricultural landscape of the area. The hosts were lovely and the guide through the vineyard and production interesting. The tasting and the foods provided were excellent. Highly recommended
Very personable experience. Only 4 of us in the group. They provided a translator to eliminate any language barriers. Most of all, we loved the wine + family run business!
Our guide at Castillo Viejo was so warm, friendly, and most of all, knowledgeable about how to make great wine and what foods to pair it with. She was amazing!
Alejandra and Miguel were exceptional hosts. To be on a tour with the premier winemaker of Uruguay was such a unforgettable experience. Details of vineyard secrets were finally shared with the public and the history of Castillo Viejo now grows wild. It was a once in a lifetime honor to attend this tour. Thank you Alejandra for being a gracious host.
Had a great experience. 4th generation family owned winery serving some excellent wine. The underground tasting room has a great ambiance. The music, and food enhanced the wine tasting. Friendly people. The young girl, who is from the 4th generation was the only one who spoke English and took us on the tour. She was sweet and friendly. We really enjoyed this place and can’t recommend it enough.
Exclusive guided tour in Familiar bogeda with excellent wines. Careful staff, harmony with cheeses, embedded and breads, everything perfect.
Excellent tour. The sommelier is very good and friendly. I recommend 100% adding lunch as it is an excellent gourmet experience. 100% recommended everything
El paseo por el bosque y la cata de vinos. La plática con el personal de la bodega fue muy agradable
A visita é bem prática com a enóloga Alejandra e a seleção de vinhos para a degustação é excelente!!
Excellent presentation of the winery provided by sommelier Alejandra, who showed us the wine manufacturing process, from planting to bottling. The tasting was very good, with excellent quality wines. One of the best wines we had in Uruguay! Worth the visit!!
At the entrance, we were welcomed in the winery's garden, which is in front of the experimental vineyard, where we were introduced to several different types of grapes. Alejandra, who welcomed us, explained the grape and wine varieties, showed us how the wines are bottled and where they are aged in the oaks. He also took us to a table where we could feel the different notes that are possible to find in the wine. Finally, we did the tasting in a beautiful room. This is the second winery we visited, but the experience here was much richer than the previous one - I highly recommend it! The driver was recommended by the winery and was also super attentive and waited for the experience to end before taking us back to the hotel.
The visit to this winery was a pleasant experience. We were welcomed by the owners of the winery who told us the story since the arrival of their ancestors in the region. The visit to the winery was guided by winemaker Alejandra who did a great job of presenting the internal areas and production. Finally, we had a wonderful lunch washed down with the winery's great wines. Unmissable!!
The DIVINE food, the fresh and delicious wine, the excellent service, the spectacular place, the delicious experience, everything was very pleasant. Thank you for the tour, my family and I love it. 100% recommended.
It is the second time that I go to the Winery and each time I fall more in love with the place and its staff, excellent tour, and the wonderful explanations, the best wines, the excellent food, thank you for being better every day
Excellent attention, beautiful cava, delicious food and unparalleled wine, would return without hesitation
Excellent attention, information, wine tasting, food and guitarist show. Very good wines...
Excellent cellar! Very good service! The winemaker clear and with just and necessary information. The food was very good. 100% recommended. THANK YOU SO MUCH
We spent a beautiful day with the family. We felt very comfortable. We learned, drank and ate rich. We also enjoyed the Copla Alta duo, beautiful!!! We'll be back.
Very nice experience, you can know the history of the Winery, the family, how the wine is made, taste its wines and have lunch. The service and products are excellent. Highly recommended to go with friends or family.
Excellent Service!! From explanation to lunch. Couple high beautiful group. Highly recommended.
I'm Luis, Dolores' husband. All highly recommended. I think they have to propose new things that we've been to several times. Short walks to the vineyard, nurseries, etc.
The tour was wonderful. We learned a lot about the process of making one of the best wines in Uruguay. The end of the tour that concluded with lunch and live music was a wonderful experience.
All impeccable, the attention, the Service, complying with the whole protocol, learn from the whole process for the production of the wine that later we see in the gondolas of the super, one hundred percent recommended, I plan to return
Spectacular place, very good Service and fantastic staff.very friendly...very good and recommended. I hope to be back soon...
The experience was very good! All very attentive both Ana and Alejandra! They offer transfer from the terminal 3 crossings and in about 40 minutes you arrive at your destination. He spends a nice time, tasting wines and touring the cellar of the hand of Alejandra that is super clear and loving. Truly a very good plan to enjoy with family, with friends!
Very nice the Cava. Very interesting talk from the winemaker. excellent menu. obviously the wines stand out. Separate point for Quality and Smoky Quality of Service.
Excellent Service and Human Warmth!!!! for wine tourism lovers is a very good experience!
This time we made a group of friends.Very nice the winery environment.Very good tasting and very good Gastronomic Service.
We took a tour of the winery, where we could taste the wine process... The truth is highly recommended!
Perhaps you could break the ice with a reception of wines and cheeses that allows a faster détente and better appreciate the whole offer very enjoyable. It is very good to understand the historical family burden of so many generations to achieve a result that is constantly recreated without losing its origin.
It was a very nice walk, we met the process until the wine arrives at our tables, we tasted the wines and enjoyed a delicious lunch.
Very good walking experience and knowledge. The very nice place, careful, makes one feel good and very comfortable. Industry is neat, efficient and modern. The guides, who are an owner and the winemaker, excellent and with great detailed knowledge of the entire process and means of production. Detailed presentations without being overwhelming, questions promptly answered and with excellent level of knowledge. The cava where you have lunch is a value in itself, it would be worth a visit even if there was no winery to tour. And the standard of food is very good, leaving nothing to be desired. Excellent quality wines. I recommend not to stop trying the Sauvignon Blanc Varietal Premium of 2020. Soft, aromatic, ideal for light meals with faint flavors and desserts. The Tannat with which we accompanied the roast and grill was spectacular, and it is difficult that if you are having lunch there, you will stop trying it. You will draw your conclusions. The price/Service ratio is good considering the quality of everything available on the visit, from the place to the food, through the friendly and friendly treatment of all those present there.
For Argentines who are far from Mendoza, the wineries of Uruguay are one of the best options to visit both for quality and proximity. Taking advantage of the Carnival trip we visited the winery and the service received was excellent, a very intimate visit. As if they were showing you their house, the level of detail in the tour, in the answers and, above all, in the tastings, made this experience different from those we have had in other wineries.
