Absolutely fantastic tour with Joaquin who really knew everything we could want to know. They catered beautifully for gluten free. We will be buying wine when we get home as sadly couldn't fit in our case!

Family Winery - the guided tour was superb. Prices for full menu and degustation could be steep. Good experience
One of the best experiences I've had at a winery. Absolutely amazing. I will be back to stay on property. And the lunch was delicious!
This is a MUST when visiting Montevideo. Joachian was so informative and professional. The wine was superb and the food was amazing.
A delightful experience. Lots of personal attention. We never felt rushed, far from it. The meal was absolutely delicious!.
I can highly recommend a trip to Pizzorno Winery. I went there on a half-day excursion. Everything was well organized. The hosts took very good care of us. The guided tour was instructive and fun and the 3 course meal with selected wines was delicious.
Wonderful wines, beautiful location. Very organized wine tasting and owner was very knowledgeable as the vineyards had been in his family for many generations. We had no idea that wines in Uruguay would be so lovely.
Amazing chance to learn about how wine is grown, how it is made, and taste some of the grapes specific to Uruguay. Trip out to the winery dispenses with the typical guide, useless chit chat, and random facts no one remembers. Once your transport gets you to the winery you are in their hands and leaning and hearing from them and not a guide. The folks at the winery are super knowledgeable and interested in talking about their craft and showing you how wines change when paired with specific foods. They don’t push their wines or ask you to buy anything. The lunch is amazing and comes with wine pairings so is like another tasting all over. What a refreshing experience that is focused only on why you came and not selling. Can’t recommend highly enough
We had a Juaquin as our tour guide as he showed us around the vineyard and explained, in detail, the process of their wine making and history of the winery. Very enjoyable experience, great wine and food. Would highly recommend.
Nice tour, good food, good wine. We enjoyed it, but the price was a little high. Otherwise we are glad we went.
We had amazing experience there - the guide was very passionate about wine and wine making process. We got 8 glasses of wine to test and had super delicious lunch. The place.itself is very beautiful as well
What a wonderful day spent at Pizzorno Winery. We were picked up right in front of our hotel and drove 40 minutes to the winery. We were then split into groups based on language, given a glass of wine while we chose our lunch, and given an outside tour of their beautiful vineyard. We then learned how they make different types of wines. It was incredibly informative and interesting. We tasted 2 white wines and 2 red wines and then headed in an other room for a delicious lunch. I would highly recommend this tour!
Great tour. I recommend it to anyone who is interested in wine and loves tasting some excellent vintages. An easy 45 minute bus ride to the winery, we were split into two groups, Spanish and English speaking and given an interesting tour and an entertaining tasting experience. After that we enjoyed a lovely lunch with each dish paired with a wonderful glass of wine. Highly recommended.
Picked up at our hotel and had a nice drive out to the winery. Our driver Christiano pointed out various landmarks and provided interesting information about the area. The winery was excellent. Out of all the options to chose from I am pleased with what Pizzorno had to offer. The food was superb and it was evident the care and love the staff put into the food pairings with the wine. The wine is excellent and our guide, Joaquin was very knowledgeable.
We had a wonderful time! The trip to the winery was comfortable and the tour was very informative. The wine and food were delicious and the vineyard was stunning. It was a great experience that I highly recommend!
Outstanding experience! Small group with personal attention. Great wine, of course, and the food was delicious!!
We had a wonderful time at Pizzorno! Our guide Joaquin was excellent and spoke wonderful English. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. The wines and food were excellent! Pickup from the meetup location was seamless as well.
This was a fabulous wine tasting experience. We were picked up at our hotel and taken to the winery where we were assigned an English speaking host. Our group was only 3 people which made for a very interactive day. After selecting out lunch menu, we toured the vineyard and production areas. This was followed by a wine tasting with food pairings, with great information. Our host, Thomas, was knowledgeable and personable and led a great discussion on wine. This was followed by a 3 course lunch with wine pairings that delicious. The entire day was amazing. Well worth the price and an excellent value. I highly recommend this tour.
Wonderful day out. The driver was very informative about the region and its history. We received a warm welcome. Our guide for the day, Tomás, was charming, engaging, prepared and highly knowledgeable about vineyards and wine production. He made the visit both informative and entertaining. The lunch was fantastic. Wonderful food and excellent attention from the staff. We highly recommend this day out which was good value and extremely enjoyable.
Driver was on time, spoke good English & provided information about the history & sites of Montevideo. The winery tour was excellent. Our sommelier Tomas was terrific...learned so much. Wines were excellent with 4 tastings & more wine with tasty lunch. Great experience.
The bodega was an amazing experience, you absolutely get your moneys worth! The trip takes until around 4pm so plan for that. They walk you through the basics of the wine making process and provide educated guides that do a great job. I definitely would recommend this!
Excellent tour and highly recommended. Generation-family owned winery who make you feel like extended family for a day. My English-speaking guide and sommelier, Joaquin was wonderful, professional, and helped with my Spanish while I helped him with his English. Thank you, all for the great wines and food. Salud!
This was a wonderful tour of a 4th generation winery. Walked through vineyards, toured the winery and barrel rooms. Then a blinded wine tasting complete with education about the wines and the specific methods used. Then came the paired 3-course lunch. There was so much information and experience wrapped into this one winery visit that it was well worth the money.
Best wine tasting I ever attended. Review of the wine making process was informative and concise. Sampling the different varieties of grapes on the vines was something never offered before. The wine tasting was well done and accompanied with snacks to match the wine. Finally the lunch was outstanding! Selected lunch from a menu and each selection was paired with a different wine. What a great way of introducing a variety of new wines.
This tour was wonderful. The Pizzorno winery is a great 4th generation family operation. The wine tasting was great; the guides were knowledgeable and very friendly. The food was very good. Also a special mention to our driver Christian; what a wonderful and kind man. He kept us on target for our return to the ship and also was commenting on many Uruguay facts from history to geography to cultural. He was a great tour guide in addition to being our driver. Bravo to all!
Great service and a good explanation that is great for people who are versed in wine and people who are not. Guide made it fun and approachable. Food was delicious as was the wine.
Very pleasant day at the winery with very accommodating staff. Beautiful grounds in an updated facility.
Great information about wine making. Our tour leader, Daniel, was a great guide - funny and informative. The meal provided was delicious, too. Overall, great experience.
This was one of the best wine tours I’ve done. Daniel went into so much detail (in an engaging and entertaining way) and really got us to properly critique the wine. It was a very different tour to the ones in Europe. The lunch was lovely and the wines here are great too. The owner personally greets all the guests so it has a real family touch. Can’t recommend this enough! It was my favourite tour in Uruguay. A heads up though, as with every tour in Uruguay they tend to run over, so for planning purposes the tour finishes at 4. It’s 9.30 to 4 so really it’s more a full day tour
This is a nice excursion. Its not one of those big outfits, but that didn't matter. The group was small, the tour informative, and the wine tasting delightful. For lunch you shift over to a bigger, more heavily touristed establishment.
The half day wine tour was fantastic! We had Daniel at Pizzorno as our guide and he was super knowledgeable and engaging. He got the group involved by asking us to answer tons of questions. At the tasting, we got a very thorough explanation of the wines and the wine making process, along with pairings designed to enhance the experience. The lunch was also paired with three more wines, making this tour great value for the money. The only warning I would give is if you have a time restriction we didn’t return to Montevideo until 4-4:15 (not a problem for me but some on the tour needed to check out).
Food was amazing as was the wine! Informative tour but wished we got to spend some time seeing the grapes outside in the vineyard.
Pick up was on time, Transport guide was lovely. Joaquin our winery tour guide was awesome. very knowledgeable, funny and genuinely a nice guy. Winery was beautiful, we didnt end up staying for the lunch only the wine tasting, but that was fantastic.
This was a wonderful day from start to finish! We were picked up for the ride to the winery - comfortable ride and some interesting facts about Montevideo from our driver. Then an excellent tour of the winery and wine tasting with Lucio - who was so knowledgeable and entertaining. Then an amazing lunch with delicious wine pairing. It was such a great experience - I highly recommend it!
Beware: this half day tour returns at 4pm! More like an almost full day tour. I had to pull out because it arrived back too late for my flight. No refund offered
The positives first, the food and wine pairings were delicious and the staff was very nice and personable. The tour of where the wine is made was informative and interesting. The day of our tour was rainy. I say this because I am not sure if this was the issue or not as we really were not given any reasons. But, our pickup was significantly delayed. We were told to be in the hotel lobby at 9 and then 9:30. We did not get picked up until around 10:45. Being on vacation, if we knew we had an extra hour, we may have slept in a bit or had a leisurely breakfast. While we were given an apology by the winery owner/manager, that was it. I would have loved a complimentary bottle of wine for our inconvenience. I am not sure if there was more to the walking tour because it was raining. But if there was not, I would not recommend taking this tour unless you are staying for more than a few days in Montevideo. We were only there for two nights so this tour took up a bulk of one of the few days we had.
The super friendly people at the winery and the guests on the tour were fantastic. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and explained the wine making process better than anyone I have seen before. The food for our lunch was incredible! The wine was also very good and we got to sample so many different types. A wonderful experience.
Wonderful experience, beautiful ambience, lovely wine, great food and very friendly staff. We booked the lunch and sampling tour and everything was perfect.
Pizzorno Winery is exceptional. Very customer service oriented. They also include a great educational experience. The food and wines were fantastic. The people really go out of their way to make sure everything is great. The only part of the tour that was disappointing was the driver. He was a bad driver and didn't have the route figured out in advance; we passed our own hotel three times, AFTER we were picked up! However, he doesn't work for Pizzorno, and the people at the winery dealt with it in an extraordinary way. Even offering us a different van back! I couldn't take a star away from them for that. Thank-you Pizzorno
Excellent day! Tour was informative. The food was delicious and the wine was tasty! Everyone was very friendly and courteous. I highly recommend.
We found this day tour while on a cruise that included Montevideo. We couldn’t have selected a better location. This small, family run winery was charming and the family that operates it passionate about wine. Lucio spent the afternoon with us explaining the processes and the day culminated with one of the best meals with pairings that I have ever tasted. Incredible. I highly recommend this experience.
Guide with great performance; very superficial reception when we arrived, with little empathy. Since reservations were not made for everyone, given that some would only visit, this was the first piece of information put in the conversation.
Excellent Tannat and lamb experience. We toured the winery with Denisse who explained everything to us wonderfully. The 6-wine tasting and lunch were very good!!! The whole team serving us was a 10! Highly recommended
Excellent experience. Denise, the local winemaker, presented everything to us with kindness and good humor. I highly recommend it.
Wonderful, everything is very beautiful and elegant. Super abundant lunch, perfect wines. The team is just enchanting. It is very worthwhile.
A memorable trip! We got to know the winery, participated in a tasting with four wines and then a lunch with wonderful wine pairings.
The vineyard is very pleasant, the staff talk with passion during the immersion in the vineyard. The production process is quite interesting. I bought the tour with the lunch option. A super right decision. I suggest to try dessert ice cream with splashed pepper and olive oil. The dessert is simply wonderful.
Bad service. In wine tasting do not provide the best wine of the house. They are not prepared to receive large groups.
Great experience! From transport to guided visit. We had a class of all the productive process. Tasting and impeccable lunch!
The truth was that it was a spectacular experience, we took the package EVERYTHING TO ENJOY , and sincerely wonderful, the most remarkable was the tasting and walk through the Winery hand in hand with Denisse , Winery Oenologist and super didactic and especially with a lot of empathy and coordiality, I must say that he is a wonderful person who is in the right place and with the right and perfect knowledge for his great knowledge in the matter .
