Montevideo Electric Bicycle Tour

I booked a tour (in Spanish) 1 day ahead of time and to my surprise the tour took place despite me being the only guest. Santi gave lots of information before each stretch (also for safety reasons) and at the several stops as well. The quality of the bike was very good too. I highly recommend Beetour!

This was a wonderful experience! Santí and Felipé were really good guides. They took us on a 4 hour adventure around historical sites and unique neighborhoods in Montevideo. They made the tour fun, interesting, and informative. They were able to run the tour in Spanish and English simultaneously. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to zip around and explore Montevideo. If you take the tour in winter, wear gloves!

This was my favorite tour in Montevideo. Santiago was extremely helpful with explaining the culture, history, and different sights around the city, which made the experience feel much more meaningful than just riding around. His brother was also very welcoming and made everything feel easy from the start. The electric bikes are fast, fun, and a great way to cover more of the city without getting tired. I visited in June, so it was a little colder, but honestly that made it perfect — not too hot and not too cold. They also gave tons of recommendations afterward for places to visit, food, and other things to do, which was really helpful. I’d recommend doing this early in your visit so you can get a feel for the city and decide what you want to explore more afterward. This is really a must-do in Montevideo, and the tour ends at a good time so you can still go visit museums or explore more of the city afterward.

E-bike tour was a first for us and we are glad we tried it! Felipe was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable on the history of Uruguay and the different areas we toured in Montevideo. He made us feel very comfortable and was very personable. Our son, 15yrs. old, picked up the use of the E-bike rather quickly and he too loved the experience. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to enjoy the outdoors while also learn about the city.

Great day - 2 groups of 2 catering for the English speaking couple and Spanish speaking couple. About 18km covered, stopped at the key sites and Uruguay/Montevideo history very well explained. Recommended.

A great trip - comfortable and powerful bikes in excellent condition making for a pleasant easy ride. Interesting and entertaining guide and lots to see, without being rushed - all a at a comfortable pace with lots of photo stops!

This is a great way to see the city. You can choose to go mostly electric or get some exercise as you tour the city. Our guides did a great job explaining the significance of the sites we visited as well as providing more contemporary cultural insight. We super-enjoyed talking with Fabiola (one of our two guides) to get her perspective on life as a "transplant" to Montevideo.

What a great tour! These two young brothers are exceptionally funny. Their knowledge of Montevideo was fantastic. They are very proud of their city and loved showing it to us. The bike were powerful and easy to ride. I highly recommend this tour to everyone. Gracias!

This was such a nice tour and a great way to get acquainted with Montevideo. We cycled through the main parts of the city center and then enjoyed a long cycle along the river and beach areas. Our guides were both knowledgeable and enthusiastic and the ebikes were new/well maintained. Highly recommend!

A great tour that saw many different parts of the city. Pepe was a great guide and shared information about the culture as well as the various areas where we traveled. It was nice to get out and about, and we enjoyed the tour very much. It was well orchestrated and the bikes were in excellent condition.

Such a great experience and you get to see the most of the city! They showed us the map afterwards and you get to experience almost the whole city of Montevideo! Great time and they were awesome about helping take pictures as well as giving time to take out own pictures!

We had a great experience on the eBike tour with Beetour. Santi is charming, knowledgeable about the city, and shared many interesting and engaging stories. The bikes are brand new and very easy to use. Montevideo has dedicated bike lanes, and we felt safe and comfortable throughout the ride. It was a fantastic way to see the major attractions. Booking was easy and the service was very friendly.

beetour was great they and made the e-bike tour very enjoyable. They shared a lot of interesting history and local knowledge along the way, which really added to the experience. The route was beautiful and the bikes themselves were fun to ride. Overall, it was a memorable tour and one we truly appreciated. That said, there are a couple of areas that could be strengthened. A bit more planning and organization at the start of the tour would make things smoother, especially having the bikes fully ready and prepared up front for riders. It would also be reassuring to see clearer accident preparedness, such as having visible first aid kits and a quick safety plan in case of an incident. Even with those small improvements, the tour was a great experience and enthusiasm and knowledge made it worthwhile. I would still recommend it to others looking for a fun way to explore the area by e-bike. 🚴‍♂️

This was a great way to see a large portion of the city and the guides were informative. They did a great job keeping the group together. The e-bikes make it an easy way to get around even for non bikers.

This was a great tour. Felipe and Santiago are great guides, charming and engaged. They make sure that you are having a good time. The tour takes 3.5 hours and you bike 19km. The electric bikes are in great shape and are easy to handle. We stopped in a few key points and learned a bit about the city. There were pedestrian areas where it would have been better to walk your bike. Overall, this tour is worth more than they charge. It is a great combination of exercise and sightseeing.

Didn't know what to expect, but the tour certainly exceeded our expectations! Cruising through many city sites, monuments, river front with stops at each multiple sites with detailed information given by our tour guides. Both tour guides were fun and great hosts for the City! If anyone is on the fence with this tour, DO IT - you will not regret it! FYI - electric bikes make it fun and easy too!

We covered a huge amount of ground on this e‑bike tour and had a genuinely wonderful time. Our guide was enthusiastic, very friendly and clearly putting real energy into building the company and giving everyone a great experience. I’ve knocked one star off because there were moments when we crossed busy roads without the safest choice of crossing point, and the group wasn’t always kept together as closely as it could have been. To be fair, he did have a couple of challenging riders to manage, and with more experience this will no doubt improve. Overall, a really enjoyable way to see Montevideo and a company with lots of potential.

An excellent bike trip around the city. Very well organised and good comms from booking to the day itself. We were on a cruise tour and booked this through TripAdvisor. Easy to get too via a taxi or Uber from the port and only £11. It is very safe and easy when we got off the ship. The bikes were excellent and you can peddle as much as you like or use the electric booster. We covered the city and had many stops for Felipe or Damian to inform us of the history and sites including their passion for football. We were able to test the bikes before we started to build your confidence which included safety helmets. There are a few bikes depending on your height. A marvelous day out. Toilets and water is available as well. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed this approx 20 km tour that took us to all the main spots in Montevideo. The starting point seems a little out the way but we came off a cruise and called an Uber. The owner of this newer company did the tour and was keen to make sure everyone was enjoying the tour. The e-bikes were comfy and well maintained. It was a great way to see the sights compared to a bus tour and you certainly couldn’t do it all on foot. Happy to recommend.

Great way to see the main highlights of Montevideo. The electric bikes were very easy to ride and had plenty of power. Philip and David were very conscientious when it came to safety, one rode at the front and the other rode at the back so no one was left behind. We covered a total of 18 km over 3 hours looking at the sights and a lovely ride along the Rambles to finish. Would thoroughly recommend this trip especially if you are on a cruise as you get to see so much more than on a walking tour.

Great small group tour allowing you to see the main attractions of Montevideo at a leisurely pace. Top quality bikes, suitable especially if you haven’t used an e-bike before. Highly recommended.

Super fun guides Santi and Patrick! The bikes are well looked after, we always felt safe as there are bike paths everywhere. The brothers are super knowledgable and yes, they love futbol!!!

What a great experience and a wonderful way to see the city. The batteries on the E bike definitely helped especially coming back down the seawall. Our guides were very informative and a lot of fun. We highly recommend this tour!

Really nice way to see the city. We'd been taking buses and some taxis around so had some sense of the city, but this was a lot more intimate a way to see this wonderful city. The guides were clear and knowledgeable. The bikes were fun to ride. I have an ebike that I use constantly in Seattle, but it's a great introduction for people who haven't used them. We hadn't ridden bikes in the city yet and it's a great way to see them. I liked the ride through the neighborhoods and parks, but the really highlight was riding along the Rambla, which really is one of the most beautiful rides around. Highly recommended

Felippe and Santi were really helpful and fun tour guides. Their banter gave us not only an insight into the city but also into Uruguayan humour, passions and culture. The bikes were well maintained and Montevideo has an excellent network of cycle paths. Going by bike gave us s better view of the wealth of architectural styles down the main street in Montevideo and to take in the beautiful Las Ramblas waterfront. My husband was dubious about managing an 18km bike ride but the bikes are so easy to use so we both loved this 3 hour tour. Taxi/Uber cost us USD11 each way from the port to the Beetour base but even with this add on it was style great value for money and cheaper than any cruise excursion. There were eight of us on the tour and although they had never heard og geocsching, the brothers were happy to make a stop so we could find a cache near the Holocaust memorial. They even had ponchos available when we had a few spots of rain. Cannot fault the experience.

We saw a lot of the city. The lads who organised it were very personable. The electric bikes were great. It was good fun. Highly recommended.

Santi and Pepe love what they do. Privately own and their heart and passion for their city shines. Bikes were in perfect shape and training on the e-bike took minutes. Short Uber ride to get to them and the price was very fair for over 3 hours of touring.

Lovely three hours biking around pretty Montevideo. Bikes were in terrific shape and our guides, Felipe and Candy, kept us safe and well-informed of their beautiful city. We visited parks, the big Montevideo sign, city center, and much more but my personal favorite was the bike lane between the two lanes of traffic in the heart of the city. Water is given at the end but bring some too especially if it is a warm 86 day like we had.

Want a fun way to spend a morning learning about this city. The bikes were very comfortable. We rode about 18k through neighborhoods and parks and along bike paths. The best was along the Rambla. The pace was perfect and always a chance to stop to take a photo.

This was a great was to see many areas of Montevideo and Freddy was so informative and caring! It was a bit of a distance from my hotel in Ciudad Viejo but 100% worth the Uber ride to get there and I would most certainly recommend this tour to anyone! E-bikes made it easy! Did 19 km and wasn’t even tired (I’m over 65)!

We were in Montevideo on Oosterdam cruise & booked this 1/2 day tour to get out & experience Montevideo on the ground plus getting some exercise after 19 days on the ship! Beetour was a great pick in our view - Santi & Feli, the owners, were very accommodating - from communication, getting us sized & ready, safety tips & guiding! A simple package of enjoyment! Santi guided our tour & was very informative & flexible as required. Great mix of many highlights with bike lanes for majority of tour on busy streets (middle of road bike lanes) & a long beautiful ride in the Ramblas…you will not go wrong working with these young & energetic Beetour partners! Also they not only provided us with some excellent recommendations on restaurants & other highlights plus they are passionate football fans & they can direct you to obtain tickets to take in a match in the famous Centenario Stadium your schedule permitting!

Kudos to Felipe and Santi for putting together such a stellar ebike tour. The upright style bikes were easy to get used to for renters and worked great with power to spare if needed. The route cleverly covers the highlights of Montevideo, using nifty bike paths through downtown and old town, culminating in a wonderful scenic cruise along the waterfront bike path, what a clever loop. And the guides; great leaders, fun personality and very knowledgeable. They gave a great recommendation for late lunch afterwards, Cabãna Veronica, for an amazing local beef fix. We can't imagine a better way to spend a cruise port day here, muchos gracias!
