Blanco Tours and Andres made our trip to Montevideo so rewarding! We visited, several historical, landmarks, and vistas, which was great, but it was the historical commentary and color that we received from Andres that really gave everything context and meaning. Our tour lasted 6+ hours and Andres was very flexible and responsive to what we were interested in. His vehicle was extremely high quality and his knowledge of the city was great. He really made Montevideo come to life for us!

I was only in Montevideo for one day and this tour was perfect! Everything was made easy for us from booking, to communication, to customization of the tour, and more. Andres knew everything about the city and was able to answer any questions we had along the way. The van was big, private, and comfortable for the entire journey. Highly recommend booking this tour to anyone who wants to experience the highlights of Montevideo from a trusted and friendly guide!
We had a great day due to the experience and friendliness of our guide: Jaime Gutierrez.he knows everyone in town and spent much more time than was promised. He is a pleasure!
We had a fantastic private tour in Montevideo. Andrés was extremely knowledgeable and very personable, with a great sense of humor that made the day even more enjoyable. He tailored the tour perfectly to our interests and pace - a great balance of history, local insight, and fun — we learned a lot and laughed along the way. Highly recommend if you want an engaging and customized experience of Montevideo.
Very informative tour guide, Belen, and good driver, Andres also a futbol officianado. Comfortable van although air conditioning needs improvement. Nice that they provided water, candy and sticker momento. Good value for the money.
We had a wonderful experience on our tour. We were picked up at the hotel and taken around Montevideo to see the city. Our guide spoke fluent English and explained everything we saw. We learned about the history of the city, made several photo stops and had time to shop. It was a very professional tour.
We had one day to spend in Montevideo and Andres made sure we got a feel for the city and saw the important sights. We learned about the city’s history and the food culture. We had a great experience.
What a great way to see and experience the beautiful city of Montevideo with Andrés! He was an excellent tour guide with lots of passion and knowledge about the city and country. He was very flexible with our start time to be later in the day when the rain was forecasted to settle. Highlight was the port market with the asado!! Thanks for the great day :)
Excellent tour with Jamie, who went over and above to show us the beautiful city of Montevideo. We feel like we got to know him really well during the tour and he is clearly an extremely knowledgeable and experienced guide who is very committed to giving clients the best possible experience. Everyone in Montevideo knows him which was very helpful! Would highly recommend this tour.
Andres was great! On time pick up and drop off. Nice comfortable car. Showed us around and offered insights and local knowledge and customized the tour for our liking. Highly recommend!
Andres was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and the perfect pace. We all had a fantastic time wrapped up with a wonderful recommendation for lunch! Thanks for a great experience! An ideal start to seeing Montevideo.
Andres was a fantastic guide. Professional, knowledgeable and very entertaining. He was taking care of our every needs, always thinking ahead and very flexible to our schedule. His vehicle was impeccable! The tour included numerous attractions, especially the lift to the panoramic view of the city. I would strongly recommend using Andres via Viator!
Blanco Tours provided an excellent tour of Montevideo. This was our first time in Uruguay and we were a party of 10 (two families including six young adults in their late 20s/early 30s). Andres Blanco, the tour company owner, was very knowledgeable about food, history, culture, politics and helped plan a custom full-day tour that included something for everyone. Belen, our tour guide, accompanied Andres and was also very knowledgeable and had a very engaging personality. She answered LOTs of questions. Our day felt like we were having a local experience in addition to seeing the major sites. It was super helpful to have Andres and Belen together versus having one guide and someone who was only a driver. Both spoke excellent English which was helpful as we only had one fluent Spanish speaker in our group. The tour was a good mix of walking and driving with stops for food as needed. We had the chance to walk around Independence Square, the agricultural market where we had some artisanal beers and ended the day with matte and churros! The van was comfortable and had air conditioning and wifi. We highly recommend this full day tour.
Had a terrific day visiting Montevideo with Andrés. Booked the tour late on a Sunday for the following day yet had excellent communication with Andrés early Monday AM for a 10 AM pick up at our hotel. Terrific tour in a comfortable van around major sites then walking tour of old town. Extremely informative regarding history, customs, food. We highly recommend this tour.
Our tour in Montevideo was fantastic. The guides were professional, approachable, and made the experience enjoyable. Despite having just one day, we were able to visit many sites in a short time. We arrived at Montevideo Airport at 10:30 am, and although our time was limited, booking this tour was definitely the right choice. The only downside was missing the stadium where the first World Cup games were held due to time constraints. If you have a brief stay in Montevideo, I highly recommend this tour!
We had an incredible time with our guide, Andres! He picked us up and dropped us off on time, was very likeable/personable and genial. Most importantly, he really knew a lot about Uruguay and taught us so much! He took us all over the place in a short period of time (but it was PERFECT...not too busy...exactly what we requested!) I love how he took us up to the 22nd floor of City Hall for the views, taught us the proper way to drink Mate, and showed us some incredible historical sites. Plus I may have had the best steak I've ever had in my life at the market...Overall, I would VERY ENTHUSIASTICALLY recommend this tour to anyone else, and all my friends (there were four of us) completely agree. Andres gave us an incredible tour experience :)
Andres and Mauro gave us a great tour of Montevideo. We learned a lot about the city, how to navigate it, and places to explore further. Mauro speaks great English and was happy to answer our questions and share Uruguay. The van/bus is very nice, and being driven around allowed to spend most of our time seeing the sights and learning about them.
Andres and Belen gave us an amazing tour to our family in Montevideo. They were very flexible to accommodate our teenager preferred experiences and our family loved the tour. In addition, we learned a lot about the local culture and also suggested great places for us to visit after the tour. We would highly recommend this private tour and as a plus the vehicle transportation was very modern and comfortable.
We were able to explore Montevideo through a locals eyes. We were able to cover so much ground to get a great feel for the city and its culture.
The service provided was excellent from Our pick up to our returning to Our cruise. Andres, our tour guide, was always willing to help. The private tour is highly recommended.
We wanted local flair, weren’t really into museums or buildings but that is what we got. We quickly walked through old town and under the gates to the new part of town. Would have preferred to spend time in old town. Most expensive tour on our 18 day trip and was the least favorite. Highlight was seeing football stadium
We took this tour with our five small children. We were able to see the entire city in under four hours. Our guide gave us so much history. A fun day for sure.
We were fortunate to be the only two booked for this tour, so we had our own guide and a driver besides. When it started raining, they adjusted the itinerary so we could go to indoor attractions. We even were able to go to places that larger groups were unable to see. Our guide was very personable and knowledgeable, and we learned a lot from her. We had a little extra time so they asked if we wanted to go for lunch and see a residential neighborhood which we did and enjoyed the experience. In hindsight, we should have clarified the additional cost before going, but we were very happy with the tour overall.
The tour was excellent. Good pace, information, and selection of interest points. Pablo was super helpful, especially as I use a wheelchair. Really amazing city!
First…Great customer service! Much appreciated! Our guides, Belen and Andrs, are very knowledgeable. They are also super friendly which is high on my list. My husband and I feel like we know a lot more about Montevideo and all of Uruguay. I would definitely recommend getting a tour!
Pablo was very nice and stopped several times for pictures and to provide us with history of Montevideo. The day of our tour he was distracted though because he had a VIP tourist coming in. He still tried to give us a fabulous tour. And Blanco Tour was excellent to work with and communicated with us very well!
Jaime was our guide and he was wonderful. We had a bit in common because we live in Virginia and Jaime lived five years in Arlington, VA while working in DC. Jaime picked us up at the cruise terminal and we spent close to five hours exploring the the north, west and southern areas of Montevideo including a several mile drive along the coast. Jaime is very proud of his country and enthusiastically shared Uruguay and Montevideo' s history with us.
We really enjoyed our private tour for two which was actually in a car than mini bus. We had the right amount of time at each place and our guide did a great job answering our questions and explaining the history right up to the modern day Montivideo and Uruguay. I would though say whilst Uruguay is undoubtedly the most expensive country in South America it still felt over priced compared to other trips being offered.
Belen's tour was outstanding! She gave us an excellent overview of Montevideo. Not only did she show us the historical old city, but she also took us to other surrounding neighborhoods to give us a fuller view of Montevideo. Belen is incredibly knowledgeable about the social and political history of Uruguay, and that was evident throughout the tour as she answered our many questions. She was also very flexible--I mentioned that I wanted to try mate, and she took us to the only cafe in the city that serves it so we could sample some. The tour was a mix of driving and walking, which allowed us to visit many neighborhoods throughout the city while still getting a feel for details of the sites. We were even able to see some the city from some of the best viewpoints possible--including at the top of a government building and a park that overlooks the river and city. Thanks again Belen for a wonderful time!
One of the best tours we have been on. Paulo and Edwardo were fantastic. Very personalized and informative. Saw so much of Montevideo and learned a lot about the History of Uraguay. We were treated like we were royalty. Thank for the insight of your beautiful city.
We were all very happy with the tour. Andres was very friendly and accommodating to our needs with three little kids. Vehicle was extremely comfortable for our group of seven with lots of extra seats. Andres responded promptly previous to the trip to all our questions and very helpful to help us installing the car seats
Blanco guided us throughout the tour of Montevideo and found him enthusiastic and genuine. Never give a second thought, he will be the best guide in Uruguay.
We had such a wonderful time with Andres! Prior to even arriving in Uruguay, he took the time to communicate with me to ensure that everything was set for our trip - well in advance and also the day before. Then, when we arrived, we had a welcome message waiting, and he was there promptly to collect us at the airport, since we had arranged for that in addition to our city tour. As for the tour itself, Andres is very knowledgeable about his city and his country, and we learned so much in a relaxed, enjoyable way. We never felt rushed, our needs were always attended to, and we thoroughly enjoyed his warm conversation. We were also so happy that we had already planned a second tour with him for later in the week to Colonia del Sacramento. There were so many more wonderful things in store, for us that capped off our visit to Uruguay in a special way. Thanks to Andres, we got to experience a bit of this gem of a country and the warmth and kindness of its people. Andres is a top-notch guide and a truly nice person who clearly enjoys sharing the best Uruguay has to offer. Thank you!
We had an amazing time in Montevideo. Andrés and Belen were fantastic. Very cordial, knowledgeable and accommodating. I highly recommend them to take you around the best places of this beautiful city!
We get to spend a few hours in Montevideo with Andres and it was the most unremarkable experience possible. Yes, he transported us between the locations and waited patiently while we took photos. But the informative value of the guide’s participation was nearly non-existent (unless you need someone pointing at the building and commenting “beautiful house” for you). No historic facts, no architectural remarks, no non-mainstream locations. It was a decent logistics arrangement, but we could have seen the same, if not more, moving around in Uber.
So my Guide Andreas was amazing. He went over and above trying to make the tour very special, including teaching me how to actually make a good Mate. I would highly recommend it. It’s a good adventure.
Andres was very accommodating with booking a last minute tour of Montevideo. He was very communicative in advance of the tour and did an excellent job showing me around. He is very knowledgeable and very passionate about Montevideo, and Uruguay in general. Highly recommend!
The personalised tour was very easy to arrange and was perfect for our time in Uruguay. Andres picked us up from our hotel and drove us to the historical sights in Montevideo. I would highly recommend Andres for his humour, intelligence and laid back attitude.
I highly recommend booking this tour when visiting Montevideo and wanting a true pro guiding you. That pro is Andres! He provided honestly the best personalized tour we have ever done and went above and beyond for my family and I with taking us to different places in town, ensuring we had enough time for souvenirs, and had the best meal on our South American trip with him at a local restaurant. He is very personable and a true friend!
Did a private tour from / to MVD airport. Andrew was great and presented the highlights of Montevideo, it’s history as well as the culinary gems to me. Was an excellent tour, we had a lot of fun and I can only recommend it.
We coordinated a personalized 2 full days tour with Blanco Tours, we visited Punta del Este, Montevideo and Colonia Sacramento without any inconvenience or complaint… our guide Andres was a driver, guide and friend… Blanco Tour is 150% recommended
Great guide and driver. Guide very knowledgeable and good conversationalist. Took us to all the points of interest and stopped for photos. Great overview of the history of Uruguay and different areas of Montevideo. Good vehicle
This was the ideal way to see as much of Montevideo in a short day trip from Buenos Aires My Guide Mauro was great spoke excellent English and we had some great conversation, I learned a lot about Uruguay and Montevideo We extended the tour to a full day , which meant that I saw more of the city. and had chance for a wonderful meal I would highly recommend this tour if you have just a short time to visit
Great tour. Pablo our tour guide was waiting and ready to give us a exciting day. He showed us the city in depth. We saw all the important sights. He was filled with valuable information and history.
We had a lovely day in Montevideo with our guide Pablo. He was prompt with his service. We stopped at the points of interest described in the tour along with the roof top view of Montevideo He also asked us what we would be interested in seeing. We told him that we enjoy going to open air markets and antique shops. He suggested that we go to the Sunday street fair. We did and it was great. We visited several stalls and shops and he helped us with our purchasing quests in the market. Later we went to the local indoor market where again he assisted us with our quests. He is a great tour guide and this is a perfect tour for your one day visit to the city or if you are staying longer your introduction to the area. Liz
Great tour guide and driver. Our guide was very knowledgeable and explained the historical sites, made sure we had a chance to see the important sites
Belen our tour guide was fantastic! Driver Eduardo was great also. We learned so much about Uruguay. So glad we did this independent tour. Highly recommend. Only thing to say is that the picture of the beach on this site is not included in the tour and is in fact 2 hours away. Please change this photo! Was excited to see this part of Uruguay- but the city was a great visit!
Amazing tour with Jaime! Extrmemwlt informative. We were only there one day and we saw so so much!!! Such a nice man as well!
Andres was an amazing guide and fountain of information. His love for his city was evident . All of the group were happily surprised by Montevideo......We would NOT hesitate to recommend this tour...Thank you Andres
This was our first time in Montevideo and we wanted a knowledgeable guide to show us the city. Our tour guide Belen was great! After picking us up at the cruise port, she modified her tour to accommodate our desire to tour the sights but also to do a little shopping. We thoroughly enjoyed her presentation of the city and would highly recommend Blanco Tour to everyone. We're going to be visiting Montevideo next year and will definitely contact them again then.
