Great tour and great wines. Sabrina was the best! It would have been a five star but the bus driver was an hour late picking us up. If we'd known we had another hour, we would have had lunch.

I visited Bouza Winery in January 2022, actually the same day I returned in 2026. But things were a bit different. I loved so much and that's why I decided to come back. The second experience as I can say felt poorly. The tour, explanation and even the time for photos felt different as it happened with a different level of energy. But that is my interpretation. And after at the wine tasting that I felt more disappointed. The first time was rich. Good servings of wine and the appetizers. The second experience was dramatically poor in comparative to the frist time. Really small portions and wine serving. The price compensated the good wine tasting but now, felt expensive, basic and poor. I really loved the first time, it was a beautiful experience, unfortunately cannot say for the second time.
Pick up was on time and the ride to the winery was nice with driver providing information on the winery. Arrived at winery and were greeted by the host. Tour was in English and very informative. Or guide Sabrina was very good and answered all of our questions. The tasting was excellent and the pairing with the wine were superb. We were truly impressed with the facility and the staff. We would highly recommend visitors ng this winery. We were unaware it was rated as 30th in worldwide wineries. We purchased 2 bottles of their red wines.
Loved the tour, our guide Matias was excellent, the four types of Bouza wine we tasted, as well as the food pairings, were amazing. The collection of classic cars and scooters / bikes, all in excellent condition, was also impressive!
Over priced. The winery tour was good. 50/50 English and Spanish and that was ok--if a little tiresome during the times we couldn't understand. Transportation to and from winery added little-- no tour guide qualities at all. We sat around for over 30 minutes before our tour started even after our tour was shifted from the scheduled time of 10am to 1230pm. We had no opportunity to eat lunch at the winery, even though the posting listed it as optional, as the driver rushed us out of there. Winery is beautiful and staff there are friendly and helpful. The question is as to the value of the driver.
This was a very nice stop before I got into town and settled in from the boat ride from Buenos Aires. The vineyard/estate is very nice and the guide had thorough knowledge of all the vines as well as the pairings. The empanada was excellent!
Fantastic day learning about Uruguayan wine. Our guide, Matteus, from the vineyard was welcoming and knowledgeable. Delicious wine and food.
5 wine tasting with a tour of the winery and a personalized experience for us plus a couple grappas at the end. Knowledgeable and friendly guide and and clean / safe transport. Highly recommed! Oh and the food and dining room were amazing too.
This was a little confusing of an experience. After the tour was booked for 10am, I received a message that the tour was moved to 1240pm, no big deal. I had booked the tour in English but it was only in Spanish at the winery. A little disappointing but gave me an opportunity to practice my Spanish listening skills. The winery itself was beautiful and the wines were great to taste. The van was clean, comfortable and the driver was fine. He was not aware of what tour we booked and asked us if we were doing the tour or restaurant.
We were picked up a little earlier than the time confirmed this was not a problem. It took 25 mins from our hotel to Bouza Vineyard. The driver, Christian, shared interesting facts about Uruguay and Montevideo. We were greeted warmly by the Bouza staff. We were shown around with a glass of wine in hand and got to taste Tannat and Merlot grapes growing on the vine. Andreas was excellent and informative and we tasted 5 wines overall with delicious tapas. The best empanadas ever. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this trip. Good value for money.
Absolutely excellent winery. Andres was my tour guide and he was so knowledgeable and passionate about the grapes, wines and vineyard. The wine was delicious and plentiful. Transport was easy to navigate and timely. Overall, 10/10 and would recommend highly!
The staff are amazing The winery and tour was amazing! We recommend for everyone. The Tannat wines are amazing!
We had such an excellent time on this tour. The hotel pick up and drop off was easy and smooth. Our driver was prompt and wonderful, and gave us a little history lesson about the region on the drive over. The winery tour was wonderful — we were taken on a private tour of the winery and vineyard with a glass of white wine in hand, and then treated to a tasting of a number of different wines that were paired with small tapas (which tasted INCREDIBLE). We could not recommend this experience enough. Totally worth the money.
Pick up was easy and we had zero issues with anyone not speaking English. The driver did a nice joke b of pointing out things along the way to the winery which was around 20mins from pick up at the Port. The winery grounds were really beautiful, the tour was nice and explained their wine making process well. We thoroughly enjoyed the wines and food pairings. Even ended up ordering more empanadas, they were fantastic. In all it's about a 3.5 hour tour and we'll worth the money; with driver, tour, tasting and pairing. Also for car fans there are some great classic cars!
Driver was great. The vineyard and winery are great. Smaller scale but reminiscent of Napa. Tour guide was great, very knowledgeable and fluent in English. Beautiful tasting room with vintage autos in showroom condition. They even had an old Ford F2000 tractor like the one we had when I was a kid. Tasting/pairing was great. Tapas were outstanding and a perfect accompaniment to a great day. You will enjoy.
Can’t say enough positive things about this tour company, driver and the winery!! First off the driver and vineyard staff’s English were great! Christian the driver toured me around on the way home. Eduardo at Sauza was incredible!!
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered all questions. The only problem was the explanation of the wine tastings was in Portuguese. The tour guide gave a brief summary in English but did not have all the details about the wine explained to us. The appetizers were outstanding and all the wines were good.
Very disappointing in English. The tour guide did very long explanations in Spanish ( during which the English speakers respectfully stayed quiet) but very short explanations in English (during which the Spanish speakers were all talking making it hard to hear the guide). We had to complain and ask for a better guide who could tell us everything in English, and thankfully they had another guide who was excellent in English. The group was large and it would have been much better to split the group into two smaller groups by language (Spanish and English). The wine was superb, but the tapas lunch was very minimalist.
We absolutely loved this tour! The guide was so informative about the types of grapes, the different wines, the growing seasons, and the fermentation process. And the hotel pickup was so easy and smooth as well. The vineyard is gorgeous, and I’d highly recommend visiting during the growing season so you can see the grapes beginning to ripen on the vine.
There was no provision for English. Tour of winery was good and guide took extra effort to explain in English to the four out of fifty people. The tasting staff were excellent and very efficient but there was no English at all. Beautiful place, very nice people. Not for English speakers.
“Tapas” is a bit generous to describe the the 5 tiny bites of food to accompany a little mother than one glass of wine. Given the large, showy assortment antique cars with the winery’s name on them it was a bit surprising to learn that the establishment is only about 20 yrs old. I wonder if they make as much selling wine as they do marketing an image.
Great winery! Beautiful grounds. On time pick up from hotel. Very informative tour. Plentiful tasting and good pairing. Staff very attentive. GREAT wines. Highly recommended!
Left downtown Montevideo, after picking up the other passengers, around 10:15. Arrived to the vineyard around 10:45. Dress code wasn’t actually “formal”. There were a lot of people in tee shirts and shorts. There’s an old car and motor bike display to see while you wait for things to start. The tour started at 11:15 and is given in Spanish, Portuguese, and English. You tour the grounds and the winery. Around Noon, you will do the wine tasting which is four wines. The wine tasting is included in your TripAdvisor ticket. There’s enough time for you to go to the restaurant (not included, but depending on time of year you might not need a reservation) after the tasting. We left around 2:30pm. It is a very quiet, easy day. Your typical winery tour. Made it back to my hotel around 3pm.
The winery was fantastic; the wine and tapas were great, and the tour was really enjoyable. The only downside was that there was a lot of down time before and after to the experience, while we waited around (and, um, drank more wine...) for those in our group who ordered the lunch experience. It's a shame they didn't have some additional activities for us while we waited around. Really enjoyed the winery though.
Tour of the impressive winery was very good. Tapas and tastings of these excellent wines are great. The issue to me is no one is in charge. Some people split off and have lunch and others have tapas and tastings. Of course the tastings and tapas are quicker but you are just left on your own. The drivers are gone and no one knows when we are leaving. A little organization would go a long way. Nothing was said about wines and liquors are available but you have to ask. Cheese as well
Very clean and small footprint to see, english speaking guide, yet not a lot explained about the differences in wine. The wine tasting was great, four different kinds of wine given. Busy place- we went with another couple by taxi but we were grouped with a cruise ship large group on our tour.
Beautiful place, the gardens and ponds can be used to sip a good glass. Birdlife is amazing. Tapas pairings were magic.
30 minutes late picking us up. Tour of vineyards OK. Tasting poorly organized. Took much too long to get wine. No tapas for child. Others in our group got lunch, not on offer for us. Wine nothing special. Ready to leave at 1:30, scheduled departure was 2:30. Lunch people didn't finish, finally left at 3:10. Not how I wanted to spend the day in Montevideo. Should have least given us the option for lunch. Not good at all. Do not recommend.
Enjoyed touring the winery and tasting wine and tapas. A little confusing on pick up and drop off times and locations
We had a delightful afternoon at the Bouza Winery. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. The antique car collection was impressive. The tour guide took us on a walking tour of the vineyards and the building where the grapes are processed and fermented. He shared with us the history of the winery and the new grapes the owners had introduced to Uruguay. He only spoke Spanish but both of the English-speaking couples on the tour were fortunate enough to have a spouse who could speak Spanish. The attendant in the wine tasting room was so accommodating. When we told her that we didn't care for red wines, she opened several white wines for us to try. There was such an abundance of food served with the wine tasting that we canceled our plans to get lunch at the restaurant next door afterwards. I would highly recommend visiting this winery.
No English speaker. Bus didn’t come to hotel which INVER inform to me. Too late about the return bus to hotel, so I should take UBER to go airport. I never use this company.
The area is beautiful and it was really nice to get out of the city. The tour company provides transportation, then the winery provides the tour and tasting. Be prepared for a Spanish-only tour, which was a stretch for us (and why we gave 4/5 stars, since we requested an English tour). But, the tasting was amazing and the food was so delicious (and in English!). I enjoyed the tasting very, very much.
A very pleasant place. We did the guided tour and tasting. The guide, whose name I unfortunately forgot, was very attentive and showed great passion for what she did. The wine tasting was very interesting, with very detailed explanations and everything prepared with great care. The transfer offered by them is also efficient and courteous.
Pleasant experience. A very quick tour, but it manages to tell the story of the winery. I particularly didn't like the wines from the tasting, but the quantity is generous and the service is excellent. We went to lunch and it's really worth it! Everything is very good and dishes that serve 2 people comfortably.
The vineyard is close to Montevideo, easy access, the reception was great, the tour in the vineyard to know the process of vinification was well explained, the tasting has great wines accompanied by snacks (some good others not so much, but it is personal taste).
Bouza is about 30 to 40 minutes from Montevideo and is a great option for those who want to explore a winemaker near the city. The visit is very well organized, passing through the property and the cava, with a very friendly guide and explaining the whole process and the characteristics of each wine. The tasting includes five wines (one rosé, one white and three red), the last four being harmonized with small finger foods. In addition to the experience, the place is very beautiful and has a very well-preserved collection of classic cars. As the only point of attention, a service fee of 10% is charged even on the value of the tasting. Still, it is worth a visit.
Worth every penny! We made the direct reservation on the winery website, as well as the transfer. The weather did not help much, as it was cloudy, winding and raining a little. But that did not take away the charm and beauty of the place! Choose the tasting with lunch, very worth it! There are 6 types of wines + couvert with bread and flavored butter + entry + main dish and dessert. We ate a lot and very well! We end the visit with a ‘garapa’ in the fireplace and cominhas in the store that is both in the main hall and in the restaurant. The waiter Lautaro is very polite and served us super well! We recommend and would return!
Exciting visit. Excellent tasting and lots of information. Thank you very much for the Welcoming and English translation.
Incredible place, we were welcomed and asked to stay in the market of Porto, driver was inquisitive and left. Professionalism and competence.
In addition to the tasting and visit to the vineyard, the driver Cristian was very kind and practically made a city tour of information on the way. I highly recommend!
Excellent experience I did the tasting, no lunch Still everything perfect, Rocio attended us with all attention and care
Loved it, the place is adorable, our guide gave us very complete information about the winery and its history. The tasting very good, the wine very rich and the pairings according to. Lunch can be included, only I did not choose that option this time, but for the next one. In short highly recommended.
Beautiful winery, the explanation of making your wines very interesting, and the tasting was first
Good wine tasting, nice tour, a nice restaurant with good variety of dishes and friendly attention from its employees.
The Bouza cellar is beautiful and the tasting was amazing!! It is very worth knowing the vineyard and recording beautiful moments!
Very interesting. Small cellar, but handmade process with quality. Tasting with perfect harmonization. It's worth visiting.
A vinícola é lindissima.
Nice place, good food, medium wines. Don't count on the transportation of their Van, which delays more than 40 minutes without giving any satisfaction to the customers, whose driver, Ricardo, an old cynic, laughs at the discomfort caused to the customers. A scorn that ruins the whole experience.
Beautiful vineyard, with good structure, the wine tasting c harmonization was pretty cool! Their tannat and blend are great!
Ótima experiência e atenção e cordialidade de Alfredo. Passeio interessante e ótimo guia (Edoardo) em Bouza com excelentes explicações e vibração.
