Wonderful introduction to the Bouza (pronounced BOW za) winery. I chose the lunch part and you should come hungry- the amount of food (and wine) was nuts. Delicious menu to choose from. My phyllo with local cheese was spectacular. The baby beef and au gratin potatoes were yummy but SO BIG- again, come hungry! Topped or finished with a homemade flan. Everything was special and my waiter explained all.

We did the tour and the 3-step lunch, and every single thing was perfect. Our guide was Mateus, and he totally made the day. He was super friendly, incredibly well-spoken, and you could tell he really knows his stuff about the wine and the history of Bouza. The whole tour felt personal and engaging, not just a standard script. Then there was the lunch. Wow. The food was absolutely incredible. The baby beef is to die for, no exaggeration. The shrimp was cooked absolutely perfectly and tasted delicious. We also had this amazing puff pastry with cheese inside that I still think about, and the flan for dessert was so good. Each course was fantastic and paired beautifully with their excellent wines. The setting itself is gorgeous, like something out of a movie, and they even have this cool collection of vintage cars you can check out. Overall, it was a memorable experience from start to finish. I highly, highly recommend Bouza winery while you're in Montevideo!
This was a great tour. We learned a lot about wine making. The lunch and wine tasting was also 5 star. I highly recommend this tour.
The staff was very welcoming and attentive. I got an extra little benefit, as I was the only english speaking person, so I had a bit of a private tour. The lunch was surperb and service was excellent. Beautiful grounds... Nothing but great things to say
Beautiful grounds, informative and welcoming guide. The food and wine pairing lunch was amazing! Simply delicious! Lovely wines! I would definitely recommend! The tour provider was great at coordinating pick up time and location near the cruise port and brought me back in good time to board my ship without rushing my tour and lunch. Their vehicle was new, clean and comfortable. The driver was good at accounting for all of us in our fairly small group. All in all, a wonderful day! Highly recommend!
Close by the city of Montevideo, easy drive, it was good to get out of the city to a rural setting, great food and wine for lunch
This is a wonderful excursion and we were given very good instructions on how to meet our guide/shuttle once we were off the cruise ship. The drive to the winery was beautiful and the winery was simply beautiful with an excellent array of antique cars and cameras. The facility was 5 star and very chic! We were given a tour of the wine process and then had one of the most delicious meals ever! The wine parings were excellent and restaurant was elegant. We had a nice drive back to the port. We would recommend this tour for couples wanting to get away from the hustle of the city and enjoy nature, quiet and wonderful food!
The grounds were beautiful, the tour was interesting and informative. The lunch was amazing. The food and wine were delicious and the service was excellent. Would highly recommend the restaurant.
the meal was 5-Star quality. The waiter was the very best. I'm a "car guy" and I really enjoyed the car and motorcycle collection. I own a 1969 Honda 305 similar to the Honda 150 in the collection.
a bumpy ride in the van was worth ir. Bouza is tryly marvellous place as quality of food and service was top. Plus great organization. A must go attraction near Montevideo
Great food and wine, and the atmosphere was fantastic. I would highly recommend visiting even just for a meal
Not much of a 'tour', more of a transport to the vineyard/restaurant. A lot of time spent 'waiting' for the wine tour to start at the vineyard. Local vineyard guide was sweet, and attentive to assisting with Eng translation when needed. Lunch was more of a restaurant experience, than shared group tour experience.
It was a very disappointing experience. First, the reservation process is confusing and it is not clear if the visit and tasting includes lunch or not. We made a reservation with a 3-month advance and when we got to the place we were told our reservation was not for lunch, only for a 4 wine tasting with “tapas”. Second, they do not clearly tells you about the tasting experience. They serve you 3 appetizers at the same time and say it will be a four course wine tasting and appetizers. But the 3 appetizers you had been served first were for the 3 first wines. I would classify Bouza wine tasting as a tourist trap. If you are looking for a great wine tasting with lunch experience you should make a reservation for the Familia Deicas Experience.
This tour was totally worth it! The driver picked us up on time and took us to the winery, a young man who was our tour guide in the winery explained everything in English and the service, lunch and the wine was excellent !
We had a wonderful lunch that had wine pairings. Our vineyard guide was young but very knowledgeable and conducted the tour in 3 languages.
Interesting tour of the vineyard. However the highlight of the trip was the meal. Amazing venue and fantastic food paired with the vineyards wine.
the tour was interesting, Lunch was exquisite... includes generous servings of wine pairing with esch course. If you are into wine tasting skip lunch and do wine tasting includes appetizers... doung both is a bit excessive to me .
Lunch was magnificent and meeting the chef was memorable.wines matched dishes. Enjoyed the winery tour
The wine tour itself is very short less than 45 minutes. Lunch is extra. We paid $135 US$ pp with lunch I believe without lunch it is $40 less. The lunch with 3 glasses of wine different pairing for each course. The meal was excellent. I would been happy to pay $50 for lunch because it was so superior. What was way over priced was the wine tour itself. $95 for tour and transportation seemed very very expensive and was not worth the expense. From the restaurant you can see everything including a museum of Older cars, which was nice. The grounds are beautiful as well. You can buy bottles of wine but again very expensive. My suggestion is you hire a car for a half day to take you there, walk around and have the lunch and return. You can see everything
While the tour guide provided an excellent overview of the Winery, the highlight was the fine dining paired with recommended Bouza wines. It was a very nice meal! The resident male peacock was impressive. Enjoyed the wine 🍷 and will take some back to Canada.
Very entertaining tour. Excellent lunch with wonderful food in a very pleasant setting with great service. The lamb was spectacular. Overall terrific experience.
Excellent guide for our visit. We took the the tour that included the lunch and the food was amazing. Five course service, each service paired with the wonderful wine from Bouza winery. A great experience!
We loved our experiences at the Bouza Winery. The vines are gorgeous and we were invited to taste grapes on the vine. It is a lovely place. We loved the 5 course meal The pairing were delicious and we loved the food. We would do this excursion again. They cannot pick up guests from the cruise terminal but it was not a huge problem. The nearest pick up hotel was only 3 short blocks - a very easy walk.
Over the years we have done many wine tours, tastings, and food pairings in many places around the world. so when I say this was an excellent experience you can believe me. Pick up was not available directly from our cruise ship but we were able to arrange a pick up from a nearby hotel. By the way, shout out to the Don Boutique Hotel where we enjoyed their hospitality and cafe con leche while awaiting our transport. Bouza winery is about 20 min drive from town. Upon arrival we had time to look at the classic car collection in the reception area. Our guide provided a vineyard and production facility tour in English Spanish and Portuguese. We visited during the Chardonnay harvest and were able to taste some of the grapes and see the destemming and crush in progress. After the tour we were welcomed into the restaurant and treated to a superb 5 course tasting luncheon. Following our server’s advice we ordered both options of each course, sharing bites and sips of each offering. We have not had the opportunity to taste much Uruguayan wine and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the Chardonnay and a couple of the tennat blends. The 100% tennat was interesting and paired well with the succulent steak. We had a fabulous experience. My only criticism is either the transport. Had it not been for fellow diners we would not have known that our van was to leave at 2pm. We sadly had to leave our coffees untouched. Our driver did return us to the cruise port passenger entrance, which we appreciated.
I had a great trip to Bouza Winery! Lunch was amazing! Great wines, delicious food! I highly recommend Bouza Winery!
Wonderful experience, good lunch and wonderful wines! I'd be there all afternoon.
The schedules were super respected. The staff of the venue was very receptive, the wines very good and the quality accompanies.
In Uruguayan air, spectacular climate, beauties that jump to the eye, you find cozy with sophistication, in the environment, in the wines and in the steps, with Immaculate care, there is nothing left. Thank you, Bouza.
We had a visit experience at this winery. Interesting Muior! They take a tour of the place, tell you the history of the vineyard and then leave for the harmonized tasting. Good wines, excellent presenter and great tapas. We chose lunch at the venue and did not regret it. Prices are roughly the same as in the city.
Excellent lunch with very nice service staff. However the guided tour of the vineyard facilities was very brief and brief
Excellent experience. Although the non bodega bouza guide did not speak Portuguese, everything in the place is beautiful and perfect. Harmonized lunch is an indispensable activity.
Beautiful place. The walk was brief but with all the history of the place. We briefly toured the vineyards. Lunch was excellent. Excellent quality food and delicious wines.
Fantastic lunch.....it's really worth it!! Excellent place, wonderful service... I highly recommend
A place with excellent service and divine food. We had lunch paired with wines and it was a divine experience! Service is a highlight of the house.
I made a reservation for lunch at this beautiful winery to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary, I even mentioned this when booking, but it was still the coldest service possible, it's our tenth visit to this restaurant I believe, we really liked the food, the atmosphere , the wine isn't even mentioned, but the service is absurdly cold from the moment we arrive, on my last visit in 2018 it wasn't like that. The attendants look like robots, smiling seems to be prohibited, anyway... we were disappointed by the treatment, but otherwise it was good. I don't know why they ask when booking if it's a special occasion, it makes no sense. At Garzon, at least they gave us a wonderful sparkling wine as a toast. Anyway…. They need to review this service.
Experiência maravilhosa! A comida do restaurante é impecável, vale cada centavo. Lugar lindo e guia simpático. Aconselho a fazer a reserva com antecedência.
The visit with lunch is worth it. Delicious food and wine tasting together. The winery is beautiful, and they're looking for Van at the hotel. It's worth buying a few bottles to bring in the suitcase. The Bouza is of excellent quality and not very accessible around here.
Delicious food. Spectacular the Mood. Gentle attendees. We were very satisfied, we were with 2 children and we were very well received. After lunch, we did the guided tour (unpaid child) and wine tasting (4 wines with harmonization). It has a wine shop (of course!) and the prices are fair!
É um bom passeio com almoço delicioso. Não é barato, mas vale a experiência! Vinhos uruguaios muito bons, carne de primeira. Bem próximo a Montevidéo
We only booked for lunch, as we were with the kids. Wonderful food and excellent service (very attentive waitresses with the children). You have kids option with juice/water, pasta with fillet (tomato sauce or bechamel. We order only butter) and ice cream. Great wines. It's worth seeing. Children loved the animals, especially the pavons.
Beautiful place, we went on Sunday had a wonderful sound of piano, but very time-consuming service, good wines but in the store we ended up not buying because no one to meet
O almoço é de excelente qualidade com a equipe bem preparada para as orientações necessárias. Oportunidade de aquisição dos produtos da vinícola.
Beautiful place, excellent reception and lunch. All very delicious. We went by car, the transfer would make the ride much harder.
Lugar lindo e experiência gastronômica fantástica. Inesquecível comida , atendimento, vale muito a pena incluir o almoço.
For those who like photos it is a beautiful place! Very well taken care, loose animals, a private museum of old cars, all charming. But for those looking to taste wines is a disappointment. We left the hotel at 10:00, returned at 14:00 and during this time we tasted a glass of white wine (with the menu entry) and a glass of red with the main dish. Just! With dessert served grappa (which is as if it was our cachaça, which I do not drink). Disappointment!
Something that needs to be better clarified is the type of reservation. I indicated visit, tasting and lunch. I ended up without the tasting. All right, despite the price, but during the visit we had a speedy presentation and with an excessive number of people, which prevented much of the understanding of the procedures. Besides, the presenter only spoke Spanish when 90% of the participants were Brazilians. Great, we answered the Spanish, but I understand there was a lack of consideration with many who understood little. At lunch - excellent menu, however, getting asking for wine is killing. There was the impression that there was a restriction in repeating some wine - ridiculous for the price you pay. The wines are very good, but nothing exceptional. I would hardly return and/or recommend the visit.
Perfect experience, is the second time I do this harmonized stock.....always good ... The food is wonderful , the perfect wines and the service fantastic .... I recommend
