Hyatt Centric Montevideo Bed: fabulous Location: great (across from the beach) Shower: great (turn to the right) Breakfast: wonderful WiFi: fantastic Fridge: in room, coffee maker Bathrobes and foot slippers: yes I have to put this in one of my top five Hyatt hotels of my travels throughout the world. It’s just beautiful, and I love the location. My suite was great. The breakfast was awesome and all the people that I met working there were just incredible and so helpful (Vane was the best. I really did enjoy chatting with the owner for a bit. I LOVED the ambience. Vane, Alex, Juanma, Gaston, Jose, Ayelen, Jonathan (maintenance), Alex and Lucy housekeeping. One flaw———— Wilson waited on me at the restaurant and was very nice. I ordered the Caesar salad with the side of chicken and I have to say it was pretty boring. I did like my little basket with crackers and bread and flavorful butter. The lettuce was so long. They could’ve at least cut it up a bit. I shredded it with their hands. I watched the waitress in the table that looked like a dirty rag, and then she wiped everything on the placemat and then off of the table onto a chair that says that there while I was looking at it, you look around there’s a lot of food on these chairs. Beyond expectation, I was treated great as a global list and also recognized for that. I love the Hyatt Hotels.. A big word of advice. Don’t ever do the Hyatt Vacation Club timeshare. It is a rip off. We were lied to about everything. I’m really sorry that we bought, it doesn’t do us any good we travel so I never use it. I WOULD RECOMMEND

This is an exceptional Hyatt, straining to be contained by the ‘centric’ brand—maybe more of an unbound? It is centrally located, not in the old city, but it the lovely Pocitos. This is where you want to be based, and then take taxis/ubers to the old city center or other parts of town. You’re surrounded with great cafes, restaurants, a chocolatier, laundry services, and the lovely rambla promenade. The hotel itself is almost an urban resort with the gym, warm pool (maybe too warm for serious laps, but amazing for relaxing). It also has a few dining options for various moods and times of day—all delighted me with their quality and friendly attentive service. There’s the main restaurant, the deli/cafe, the metropolitan bar, and the whiskey room, as well as other spaces for events. I often encountered locals enjoying a coffee or meal in the deli, or a drink or dinner in the restaurant. The entire staff at this hotel is wonderful and impressed me. The front desk, waiters, room attendants, and doormen. Everyone is friendly, thoughtful, and very effective. This meant that everything just worked smoothly during my visit. For example I asked the front desk to call a car rental agency to see if they had cars, and Alexi offered an option to have a rental car delivered to the hotel. This made my side trip to Punta effortless and the rental fee was lower than competitors. I also had to change my departure date and the front desk team found a way to let me stay in my room even though the hotel was sold out. My room was always very carefully and nicely cleaned and I enjoyed all my meals at the restaurant, deli, and room service. The hotel is also thoughtfully designed. It doesn’t feel generic, disposable, or chain-like. Instead there’s a sense of very thoughtful design and quality construction, custom hardware, hardwood and marble floors. Functionally the rooms are very comfortable, quiet, and dark providing deep rest. Overall I had a really wonderful stay, look forward to returning, and have added this to my handful of favorite hotels within Hyatt.
This hotel is literally across the street from the beach so it was perfect! The surrounding neighborhood is really cute. There are so many restaurants to choose from surrounding the hotel so the options are endless.
Room, food, common areas, staff, location, views of entire Pocitos, all excellent. Great bar, pool and gym Staff helped getting rental car. Will return
Water our first night of three we love this hotel, great bar and separate restaurant, public areas, and the service is friendly and top notch. Our room is large and overlooks the beach Playa Pocitos. Great shower and separate toilet closet with bidet. The bed is super comfortable as is the sitting area furniture. We can’t say enough good things about this property.
