Claudio gave an excellent tour! He showed us how parmigiano reggiano is made, from seeinf the cows at a dairy farm to where is transformed and aged at the factory. We had a nice breakfast at the beginning and then a delicious lunch where we were able to taste 3 different ages of parmigiano reggiano and try some local lambrusco and cured meats. As much as I loved the cheese, the balsamic portion was probably my favorite since I was least familiar with balsamic vinegar. And the gelato with balsamic was incredible!

This experience is not to be missed!!!! Claudio was an amazing tour guide and truest made the experience wonderful. Very knowledgeable tour guide.
Everything was amazing from the initial communication with Claudio months ago to the follow up to the train pick up. The cappuccinos and breakfast snacks allowed the 8 of us travelers to get to know each other a bit before we went to the parmagana Reggiano “factory”. The process was clearly explained and it was obvious how much this all means to Claudio. The place was immaculate and the process so precise. The aging room was probably the highlight, along with the balsamic room at his cousin’s place. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Emilia-Romagna. Oh, almost forgot about the cows. Just so awesome.
The entire experience was one of my favorite tours ever. Seeing the cheese being made and learning about the process was so very interesting. And of course everything tasted great! Going to the farm and seeing the cows that make the milk (and babies) and how they are fed and treated so well was an added bonus!
Claudio was excellent! From the first time I contacted him, he was extremely responsive. He told me in detail how to get to the tour meeting point from Bologna and he was right there to pick us up at the train station. He is passionate about what he does and he’s so enthusiastic about sharing the process of cheese-making from start to finish in a fun and professional manner. The tasting was fantastic - a little breakfast treat to start and finishing off the tour with cheese, salami, balsamic vinegar and wine! What a great day. Thank you so much!
Claudio is delightful!! He’s sooo organized and efficient, plus he’s friendly and kind. We loved the tour! Do it!
Claudio’s passion, connection and knowledge of the region makes this tour a must if your visiting this part of the country. Can’t say enough great things about Claudio and the cheese is amazing!
What a wonderful intro duction to Parma, Italy. Amazing flavors and very cool shops with delicious treats! my favorite of the 5 different places had to be the meat shop, gelato shop and .. okay I can not pick a single favorite they were all amazing and our guide Patricia was the best!
Claudio was amazing! One great week in Bologna and this was definitely the highlight of the trip! It is an absolute must-do activity while in the area!
The tastes and smells were unforgettable! Claudio, our guide, was delightful, engaging, and full of humor. This was truly a farm to table journey of parmigiana reggiano cheese, and Claudio did an excellent job of informing us about the process and the pride of the region!
Claudio was an amazing teacher. Not only did we see and participate in the production process, we also went to the farm to see the cows. This was a truly special experience. It will be hard to top! Highly recommend!
Highly recommend. Worth every penny. Great communication, entertaining host, great food, great tour, put this on your must do list!
Claudio was a wonderful host and made the experience very informational and fun! I would recommend this experience!
Claudio was an amazing guide. This tour was simply amazing. Claudio’s family owns this factory so you learn so much and see much more than you might with other tours. We saw cheese being made. We met the cows on the dairy where they get the milk. Our tour ended with a wonderful treat of Reggiano cheese, meats fresh ricotta and wine. A MUST DO TRIP!!
We booked this tour last minute and had no idea what to expect. Within the hour of booking, Claudio had contacted us to get our information and sent us photos of his van and the meeting point in Reggio Emilia, making things easy from the start. Claudio was super friendly and you can tell very passionate about his family’s business. His passion comes though in the tour. We started the morning going to breakfast at a little place in the countryside where I had the best cappuccino of my life and some local breakfast foods. This meal is included in the tour price. Then off to the RIGGIANO ;) cheese factory! This is the heart of the tour and you’re given a thorough explanation of how things work. It’s an intimate setting and feels super original because it is. This tour is seriously that great! From the factory you go to the farm and see the dairy cows. It’s a sight to see! Then you go to the final place where you’ll have a light lunch with cheese meats, wine, and balsamic, all of which are produced by Claudio’s family. To top it off you’ll get a gift at the end and the chance to buy what you want but there is no pressure at all. Claudio will return you to the train station and you will have had an amazing, authentic experience. Have you booked your tour yet? Seriously this was my favorite part of our two week Italian vacation. Book Claudio’s tour already! You won’t be sorry! Ciao!
It was an interesting demonstration - virtually from the cow to the Parmesan cheese - everything about the production and of course the tasting
