The guide was excellent very nice experience I highly recommended. Very informative
Great tour, knowlegeable guide. But must make your own way to location.
Amazing tour of a small family owned Parmigiano Reggiano cheese maker! It was so interesting and finished testing amazing cheese and wine. Highly recommend!
Our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiast about the process of making Parmesan. She relaid the information well to the group. The problem was young children on our tour that kept interrupting the poor guide and throwing her off course. This tour is not really suitable for young children
I cannot begin to state how much my partner and I enjoyed this. While the tour is short, it is informative and it gives you all the insight to the process and how a small family business makes some of the best cheese in the world (in our opinion). The tasting was amazing and opened my eyes to just how good cheese could be, and our tour guide was super sweet and was great company. With 2 weeks spent in various parts of Italy, this will be one of the highlights and something I talk about for a long time. If you are debating it, it’s worth it, and you get every penny, cent, or form of currency you pay for. I bought 1.5 kilos of 24 month Parmesan personally because I felt I couldn’t get enough, and my partner bout 1kg. It’s a lovely tour, business, and experience. It’s with the time.
Our guide was excellent-good sense of humor, knowledgeable and excellent English. We were there early to watch them pull the cheese out of the bath at the start, which I highly recommend. Be forewarned that if you are sensitive to smell, there are lots of overpowering ones happening all around!
The morning tour was great! We got to see them taking the cheese curd from the vats and putting it in the rounds. The process was fascinating and the fact that every part of the milk is used for a purpose. There was no waste and the product you got to taste at the end was spectacular. The quality control is quite impressive.
We arrived in time to see the cheese being made. You have to schedule the tour early, around 8 to 8:30 to see the cheese being made. They only make 10 wheels per day so when they are finished, that is it for the day. The history and the process of Parmesan cheese is explained and seeing the storage is impressive. Recommended.
This is an intimate visit with a family owned parmigiana reggiano factory that truly respects the tradition and the process. They are a "closed loop" production, producing the hay that feeds the cows, raising and milking the cows, and making the cheese. The tour walks you through the small facility that makes the cheese and shows you the different stages of production. The end is a tasting of cheese of different ages paired with a lovely sparkling red from Modena. Tess is very knowledgeable about the family factory, parmigiana reggiano, and Modena food production. She was great with questions and truly enjoys interacting with visitors and talking about Modena food. It was the number one experience of our Italy trip!
Our tour guide was fantastic and very engaging with our 2 kids which made it more special for us. You wouldn’t think as a cheese farm tour as something to do as a highlight but it certainly was.
It was so fun and interesting! Highly recommend to others who are interested in learning about this delicious cheese!
Our guide was lovely! She was so knowledgeable about the process and was such a joy to speak to. Highly recommend. Also, her food recommendations were spot on!
Really good experience. Fantastic guide. Pedagogical in every way. Warm recommendation. Expensive but worth the money.
It was an afternoon tour, so I didn't see the craftsmen actually working on it. Morning tours are recommended. After being explained, we were shown how it was in salt water after being put into the mold and the storage area, and we tasted it. The storage room was amazing. We took a bus from the center of Modena. It was a simple route, but it wasn't that easy, which made it an exciting adventure. The other participants came by car.
Beautiful discovery.. the visit was incredible and beautiful surprise in French... The staff was very very nice... Nice experience to live.. The meal was delicious
