We ordered an English Speaking guide, but her Italian accent was so strong we could barely understand her. This is why I only rated it 4 stars.

Dianna was an amazing guide! She was so helpful, kind, gave amazing historical background on each city, and made the experience very good and everything went smoothly! I would definitely book this tour if you have the chance, as it’s definetly worth your time and you will have a great guide!
Everything was well organized. The pace was comfortable: not to fast, nor too slow. The gondola ride was absolutely amazing experience. The one thing to notice, on the way back wasn't considered to make a restroom stop. It's a long ride. Have to ask twice before it was considered to make a stop. I was not the only one. Otherwise it is a beautiful experience.
Very full on, seven hours on a coach was very tiring, pity there wasn’t a rail option. Our English guid didn’t give you time to absorb the beauty around you and moved very quickly. How ever our main guide did point us the right direction for a good restaurant. The optional gondola ride was well priced but we were taken down back street canals which were not very photogenic.
As first time visitors to Venice, my wife and I were excited to see the famed city. The 3 hour bus ride there was expected, as we stopped at a rest stop for some breakfast and bathroom break. Another stop is needed to pick up other tourists as well. Once we arrived in Venice, the boat cruise is not a 'cruise', but just a ferry from the bus drop off to Venice. Closed cabin boat on a very hot day was not a great start. Our tour then split into 2 groups, English and Spanish, which was very helpful and much easier moving forward. Our guide was knowledgeable and answered almost all of our questions, but it was not 2 hours and not very long in distance. After we passed St. Marks Square, we moved to a very brief glass blowing demonstration, which then led to a room with beautiful glassware. There was an attendant explaining the glassware, colors and shapes, but it quickly turned into a 30 minute sales pitch. Not what we expected at all and we couldn't leave that building fast enough. After that, we were set free for about 2 hours on our own, which was nice. Plenty of walking and exploring. During this time we had our lunch. We walked back to the meeting point, in which our guide led us to our gondola ride (purchased separately on the bus). My wife and I shared the gondola with another couple. The ride was very brief, and half the time was spent in the main waters, not the channels through the city. Our gondolier only spoke to his fellow gondoliers and did not speak to us at all. Gondola ride over, we waited for our 'cruise' back to the bus. 2 1/2 hours later, we arrived at our original spot.
The guide on the bus (Eddy) didn’t seem very friendly. He was a little stuck up. He didn’t give any facts or history on the way from Milan to Venice and the trip back. I feel he was just a chauffeur. They also made the passengers pay 1€ for water bottle when it is normally provided for free on other tours I have booked. Eddy then handed us off to another guide who was terrible and had a very heavy accent that you couldn’t understand her much. She was explaining about the mosaics in St Marks Square but couldn’t provide much detail. She then handed us back to Eddy who took us to a glass factory where they were trying to sell us stuff. He then took us on gondola rides which we paid for. It could have been a lot better in my opinion. In all honesty, the only good part about it was the ride to and from.
Amazing tour!! Just be on time for the bus because you don’t want to missed it. They leave at 8:00am sharp.
As per my guest, the tour was a with an unprofessional guide. The supplier refused to give guides contact and guest finally missed the bus and had to buy new train tickets to return to Milan. we being the agent got call from supplier when it was 3 minutes left and our guest was unable to reach out to guide as supplier was hesitant to share guides contact number. Overall, the excursion was of a poor quality as per my guest.
Great trip and knowledgeble guide, despite he is not super friendly, but OK. Nice weather, so the day was very good!
Venice is great for sure, but the tour guide did not make it a great experience, lack of basic touristic skills
The trip was great. A time well spent, full of history, unforgettable impressions, and fabulous views.
Great experience and we went on the day of Carnival. Even the Tour Guide said it was the most people he has ever seen in Venice. Buy the plastic boots to cover your shoes, as there will be flooding in many areas, especially St. Marks square. Gondola rides were fun but too short. Long bus ride from Milan. Edie was a good guide and Shepard considering the mass of people. Do this tour when there are no festivals.
It was a wonderful day trip Venice. The city is a must see with so many little areas to explore. Eddie was a wonderful and passionate guide. The free time allowed for the opportunity to explore the wonderful restaurants, shops, and cafes of Venice.
Incredible experience. We had Mario as our guide and he was such a gem! I traveled with my son and felt safe the entire time. Mario have extremely clear instructions along with a map for meeting points & times. 10/10 recommend!
Even the rain couldn’t ruin this experience of Venice. Being picked up at our hotel was really good. Who wants to wonder around a strange city at 6 in the morning trying to get to the right place. We were picked up right at six then dropped off but didn’t know what to do. Nobody else was there. Others started to arrive but no representative from the tour company. Buses arrived but the drivers told us to wait and shut the doors. So we stood outside in the rain. Once the tour person arrived things were organized but perhaps someone needs to be there when people are actually arriving. The tour person who came with us to Venice was very good. She pointed different things out to us. She even gave us her personal number just in case there were any problems. The tour person in Venice was knowledgeable but sometimes hard to keep up with. We needed more time to look and take pictures but she would rush off. Our radios were losing the connection with her and sometimes it was difficult to find her. (The thing she held was not as high as the ones we saw being held up by other tour guides. That added to the difficulty of finding her.). We were told we were lucky it was not as crowded as usual. I can’t imagine how difficult it would be to stay together if the normal crowds were there. The guided part ended with the glass factory. By the time we exited she was gone and we were on our own. Being on our own was expected but she was gone before we could even tip her. The first person took over when it was time to return to Milan. It was easy to start off with our hotel pickup but there weren’t any options that could be prearranged to get us back to our hotels. She gave us general directions to the Metro and a taxi stand but it was dark and raining and we were on our own. We never used the Metro and we’re on our phones trying to figure out the.pros and cons of taxis versus Ubers. Also in Milan you can’t flag taxis. But we wanted to tip her and in the confusion at the end we never did. (Probably shouldn’t have given people the option to leave by the back door of the bus.) But loved Venice! The tour people know their stuff. Just a few things could have been better. They do this all the time, but we don’t.
It was an awfully long day a total of 9 hours on the bus, but we got around 5 hours to see and explore, most of it on our own after an initially guided start in St Marks, and then a glass showroom. Plenty of time for lunch and then a good exploration of the island and canals. Guside and driver good and professional.
Long drive 4 hours to Venice and 4 hours back. The guide doesn't even bother to introduce himself. For such a long drive he could talk a little bit about Italy history and point out certain interesting buildings or area as we pass by Milan and Bergamo. Felt like such an easy job for him to get everyone on bus, talk a little about Venice, and walk us through the area a little bit. No what I expected after joining so many different tours. As for Venice, no as exciting. It may be cheaper to just buy a high-speed ticket to Venice and self tour.
Venice is just too far from Milan to make for a good day trip. 3.5-4 hrs each way (necessary stop mid-way) makes for a very long day. On arrival there is time for a bit of history and information (our guide was good) but not to actually tour inside of anything. And the optional gondola ride was a complete rip off - though that likely more on the gondola guys than on Viator but a better explanation of what spending 30 euros per person gets you certainly would have been appropriate. It turned out to be a 15 min ride of what on the canals amounted to a turn around the block with nothing particularly interesting to see. Give this one a pass!
Tour guide is very good and helpful Driver was excellent. Tour was well planned out tour guide was very clear on directions
Venice is beautiful. I could not walk due to an injury so I didn't see a lot but I have been there before
We enjoyed getting to hear about the history of Venice, the live glass blowing and taking the optional gondola ride. However, don't eat any food in the main square as the birds snatched our lunch within seconds of walking into the square. We went on a chilly, rainy day but it was still beautiful. Our guide was friendly and helpful.
Venice is a must do trip in Milan highly recommend! Only thing is the tour guide wasn't friendly, chastised people when they asked questions on meeting point and time. He also walked too fast without a flag. Trip was awesome - tour guide was 😖
Was super hot 🔥 🥵 The whether was hot 🔥 couldn't visit..walking around was impossible Mosquito 🦟 eaten our skin 😒 Not a blesant experience
My husband and I did while on our honeymoon. This was the absolute best part of our Italy trip. We were picked up in Style from our hotel. The bus ride was nice and our guide was absolutely wonderful and very knowledgeable! Venice was more than what we imagined. We bused and boated to get there and it was great. We enjoyed the guided tour. Then had the glass blowing class. Afterwards we did the gondola ride (An absolute must while in Venice). We even had time to enjoy the Venice on our own. Not only would I highly recommend but my husband and I plan to do this again! If you're thinking about it just do it! It's worth it!
This was our first time booking through Hellotickets, and it was a complete disaster. Their provider, Zani Viaggi, said one thing, Hellotickets said another total miscommunication, no accountability, and clearly an internal conflict. We ended up being the collateral damage. Our family was left stranded in Venice, even though we arrived on time and called for help. We were dealing with a medical emergency, and they showed no sympathy, no assistance, and absolutely no human decency. We’ve taken many tours in the past, but never experienced anything this poorly handled. Never again with Hellotickets. For future trips, we’ll continue booking with Civitatis and Europamundo they’ve always been professional, organized, and reliable.
The tour is great, you will have the full Venice experience and totally recommend doing the gondola short ride.
Great introductory tour of Venice. Couldn’t ask for better. The tour guide was humorous and friendly. Very informative about Venice itself
Tripp was very well organized. Tour leader communication was very clear love that we had time to explore Venice on our own time. Don’t miss riding in the gondola long but great day.
As a group of coworkers, we enjoyed the trip to Venezia thoroughly. It is a fairly long drive from Milan, and our guide advised us to rest as it was going to be hot in Venice... and it was! Hat and water is essential. Our guide provided us with interesting information during the guided tour which included some local gossip about a big upcoming wedding. We opted to do the optional gondola ride and this was efficiently arranged through our guide. The day trip was well worth it, and the guide was excellent. 5 star experience!
I booked a tour to Portofino. The departure time was clearly stated as 7:00 AM, and I arrived at 6:57 AM. Despite being on time, the bus and guide had already left. No one contacted me, no one was waiting, and the guide didn’t even attempt to check if I had arrived. I tried calling the provided contact number during boarding – no one answered. Eventually, I was allowed to switch to a Venice tour, but I had to pay a €10 penalty fee, even though I was not late. That made no sense. The Venice experience itself was disappointing. We had only about 3–4 hours in the city. The guide spoke in a very monotonous tone, and the audio equipment provided was old and poor in quality – it was very hard to understand anything he said. The bus had air conditioning, but it was extremely cold – almost uncomfortable to the point of shaking. I couldn’t rest during the ride because of the low temperature. There were no charging outlets on board, which is very inconvenient for a full-day tour. I had to buy a €14 cable just to charge my phone, with the help of the driver. The total cost of the tour was €150. It included only the transfer, a short 10-minute stop at a glass workshop, and the guide. For comparison, a train from Milan to Venice costs €30 round-trip, is faster, has power outlets, and offers more flexibility. In short: overpriced, poorly managed, and not tourist-friendly. I wouldn’t recommend this company
They instructed us to not eat or drink anything in the bus during the traveling for 4 hours, once arrived to venice they took small and tight boat, then the tour was very boring, they didn’t give us enough time to go around the city and the glass factory was boring and it was like marketing for the place, we wanted to leave and they insisted us to stay for more than hour!! The Group leader maurizzio took the gandola money without riding it, we lost and couldn’t find them. Then he said i can’t get your money back!! It’s a very bad experience try another option
Had a wonderful trip to Venice today. Great introduction to Venice! Air conditioned buses to and from Milan made the trip a very pleasant experience. Tour guides were very knowledgable.
I have done many tours with Viator in many countries over the years and this was probably one of the worst ones and quite honestly there weren’t any other tours that I would rate below 4 stars. This tour was poorly organized with bad time management. The only positive thing was the very knowledgeable local guide that we spent about an hour or so with her. The rest was waste of time. It was so rushed that we even didn’t get a chance to eat or do shopping. I would not recommend this tour to anyone. We would have been better off taking the train for about 30 euros and would have much more time to spend in Venice. Not worth the money we paid.
I think the logistics should be analyzed, I felt on a rush all the time. Especially if you are traveling with small children and the accessories needed (stroller, backpack, etc.), some empathy is appreciated. We enjoyed the trip, but a slower pace in general should be considered.
Extremely bad trip. The pick up from the hotel was so early, the minivan driver dropped us at the meeting point at 6:25 am. We had to wait in the street for 30 minutes under the rain till the guide and the bus came. The guide was so bad. Her English language level was not as good as it should be as a tourist guide. I couldn’t understand most of her speech and when I asked for clarification she just repeat what she said before as tape record without any explanation or clarification. The audio devices was not working. At Venice I couldn’t hear anything from the local guide, she was short carrying no flag to follow so I got lost from the group in the crowded city. After I found the group again and after I missed many things I decided to leave the group and wonder in the city on my own using google maps and information. The gondola trip was so bad, the guide asked as for 25 euros each and finally we got 25 minutes trip in the gondola in small canals with polluted water that smells awful. For the bad organization I don’t recommend this trip to anyone.
Its a long busride from milan to venice but still, very do-able. A great trip. Information alongbthe way was very insightful.
Tour guides in Milan and tour guide in Venice and also drivers are both professional , good behaviour and friendly. Very nice and safe trip .excellent
I was able to take great pictures. The weather was great. I took a gondola tour. It's cheaper through the public bus area. $35 for an hour.
An amazing and fabulous coordinated day. Najma was patient, organised and extremely friendly. She navigated all transport with ease from her local knowledge. The day was stress free and memorable. Fantastic tour company, cant recommend highly enough. Thank you Najma!
My day trip to Venice was truly unforgettable! The experience was so well-organized, making everything smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. Our guide, Maurizio, was fantastic—his knowledge and passion for Venice’s culture and history brought the city to life, and his friendly approach made everyone feel welcome. We started the day with a bus journey toward Venice, with a breakfast stop at Autogrill. The coffee and pastries there were just what we needed to start the day energized and ready to explore. A highlight of the day was our visit to Murano, where we witnessed the age-old art of glassblowing.I n the afternoon, we had some free time to explore the city on our own and go for a ride with a gondol. After reuniting with the group, we headed back on the bus, stopping again at Autogrill for a relaxed dinner
How many words can I write to describe my experience with the organization ZANI (VIATOR MILAN). We had to be outside our apartment building at 6 am where the bus would pick us up. We were outside at 5:55 am, it was raining, and we waited until about 6:15 am and then decided, since the street was a one-way street, to wait for the bus by walking towards the entrance of the street. At 6:39 am I sent a message via WhatsApp where the bus was. The answer was that the driver was in our street and did not find us. Now, we were the only people in the street as a couple. I then called and they told me that no bus had passed by but a VAN. Indeed, a black VAN with tinted windows passed us in the street, the driver looked at us and drove on. We are a mixed couple and I dare say that there is quite a bit of racism among the residents of Milan. Personal experiences. There was contact through our own initiative, but no one even gave a signal. We traveled to Venice by train at our own expense.
Take euros to pay for the gondola. Ferry and travel details made easy with the tour. Glass blowing tour was a good add. Not much time to wander but still worth the day to see.
The service from the tour provider was excelent. The only problem was a delate in the route from Milan to Venice due to some maintenance on the road. In addition, the tour was on sunday and there was too much people, in addition, there was high level of water on Venice and it was difficult to walk through the city. I like Venice and Viator service, however I suggest to do the tour staying in the city at least one day.
Almost no information (itinerary, schedule, ect) was provided prior to tour date. Several messages were sent to tour POC and no response was ever received. Several other tour participants complained of the same issues. The tour POC, Monica, was completely unorganized, gave conflicting and confusing guidance, and essentially made this tour a complete waste of money. DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR ! If you are very unfortunate and have Monica you will be extremely disappointed. I will be reaching out to the management of the tour company as well to voice my extreme disappointment in this tour. I would score this tour a zero if I could. Buyer beware !!!! Avoid this company.
Venice tour was exhausting and hot season and guide was so rude . Otherwise experience was good on condala
Spent more time on the bus to and from Venice than IN Venice. The guide was not very informative, not very organized and didn’t add any value in my opinion. When we got there we were told that the water was very high so we ended up not being able to go to the glass factory because there was no way to get there. The tour company should have had boots for us to wear or at the very least allowed us time to buy some.
Architecture of Venice and uniqueness of the town because of canals, Gondola ride was awesome. Grand canal looked overwhelming.
I could have easily skipped visiting Venice. It is not even half as beautiful as any area near Lake Como.
The trip was good. My son and I chose to skip the glass blowing and explore a bit. Favorite part was the gondola ride. The guide was very, very clear about where to meet and what time to meet for the gondola ride and for our departure. I saw on here a bad review saying they didn’t know where to meet and we left behind. I will say there were some people that were late meeting for the gondola ride which meant everybody else stood around waiting for them and he got very upset about us wasting our time because of inconsiderate people. I appreciate that so at the end of the day when we all met three people weren’t there and he actually waited an extra few minutes and then we left them so anybody that says they got left behind it’s because they were inconsiderate and not on time. we had a great time while we were there
The tour is too long and there should be more time for independent touring. There were two separate gathering times. Everything was rushed. Then the instructions given for the final meeting place were not clear. You are told a location and to take pictures of building instead of specifying a dock number, etc. While we’re standing where we were told to take a pic apparently the tour guide and group were on the boat. Assuming we had the wrong location bcz the “brown buildings (descriptor provided) “ began to look the same we walked up and down in the hot weather. We were left and had to find our way back to Milan. Better directions could be given & even a call could’ve been made. There was no way to contact anyone. On a better note, the gondola ride was nice and there are some very nice shops.
