The tour focused on the most important pieces of architecture and art at the cemetery that are truly "monumental." Our guide, Katya, is very knowledgeable about not only the cemetery's history but also its connection to Milan in particular and Italian history in general.

Indeed you need comfortable walking shoes as there is so much to see and the cemetery is enormous ! We enjoyed the tour and appreciated our tour guide who was so devoted to this location and knew so much about the history of the cemetery as well as the ongoing details about the Hall of Fame and those new monuments that were or had come onto the grounds. She was fabulous !!
Wonderful tour around with the cemetery with our guide. Points of interest shown and time given to truly appreciate the space. Full respect shown at all times
An interesting and imposing cemetery, large and rich, definitely worth a visit. Even though the word “cemetery” might sound off-putting, it’s truly a place worth seeing. It doesn’t feel like a cemetery, more like an open‑air museum.
Wonderful experience! We were inspired by a similar tour at Buenos Aires cemetery, so we had to see this one. Our guide was very knowledgeable and told us many interesting stories. An absolute must-do in Milan.
The Monumental Cemetery Tour was fantastic! So impressive! The Mausoleums were INCREDIBLE! Lorella has been leading tours in the Cemetery for over 10 years, and she was sooo knowledgeable. She explained the Hall of Fame and how the wealthiest families bought spots and wanted to build their beautiful “homes to live in eternity” They hired artists and architects and the architecture and designs and sculptures are incredible…. The Compari Family’s Last Supper Sculpture over their mausoleum was our favorite. The Cemetery Entrance and Hall of Fame was built like a Palace (think Versailles with a huge courtyard in front) and Domed Palace. One of the Highlights of our trip!
The cemetery was like something I have never seen before. It was neat to see monuments for only family members . The graves had pictures of the people who were buried there. Just by looking at the headstones you had an idea of what that person did in life. It is definitely worth going to see. If you need a taxi to take you back, walk across the street to the Marriott and get one there.
Excellent guide. Simon was knowledgeable and friendly. He answered all of our questions and took his time with us.
We came across this cemetery accidentally but im so happy we did. All the statues and works of art really show deep emotions and convey feelings. I spent couple of hours roaming there and it was an amazing experience
Friendly and experienced guide. I would only avoid cold winter days and gray skies to fully enjoy the place.
Interesting experience thanks to our guide, very prepared, friendly and disponibile.Visita definitely to do
Encouraged by the great reviews I was convinced to book the guided tour. I arrived earlier than the agreed time, but alas I waited for the guide at the wrong point and when they indicated what my guide was I joined the tour group already started. I took the liberty of asking for information and the guide answered me in a rude way so much so that I thought about leaving the group and continuing the visit on my own, but mistakenly, I then chose to stay in the group until the end of the tour.
Man's need to overcome death through artistic testimonies, power and seek in the past life lessons
We visited this cemetery that amazed and filled us with amazement! It was a bit hot, but so interesting that then we didn’t feel the fatigue anymore!
Guida molto brava assolutamente da visitare orario di ritrovo perfetto Consiglio vivamente di prenotare questa visita
Beautiful this experience of guided tour of the Monumental Cemetery of Milan. Two hours visit to see the most beautiful monuments of this open-air museum. The girl, Silvia, was very good at telling us stories and anecdotes that are part of this beautiful cemetery for the most famous Milanese. So hot, but so much information and so much curiosity!
E’ l’occasione di conoscere Milano attraverso le persone che l’hanno resa speciale. Un’occasione anche per ammirare diversi tipi di architettura.
It is a visit...totalizing in the sense that it is a visual, cultural, sociological, historical, poetic, religious, mystical experience. An immersion in a different, very deep and mysterious world that you realize you know very little about and whose knowledge could perhaps help you unravel many mysteries... I'm talking about the effect it had on me, of course.
Our guide Giorgio accompanied us in the visit of the main tombs and other points of interest of the Cemetery. We were struck both by the knowledge of many details and anecdotes that made us discover the cultural and industrial history of Milan, and by the competence in adapting the tour to our tastes and interests. Experience worth the cost!
many things to see and discover, thanks also to the guide Simone who was able to make the visit very interesting and dynamic, with a good pinch of sympathy, recommended.
Visit highly recommended. Ours, it was superlative. Very good guide, Simone, who with sympathy, kindness but above all preparation illustrated us, explained with passion the monuments of the various families. He answered our questions and in almost two hours made sure that this visit we can remember as very pleasant and interesting!
Something we wanted to do for a long time and finally, braving the heat, we managed to do. We left the Monumental very happy. Special thanks to the guide Simone who was extraordinarily professional, clear and engaging. His description of what we were seeing, went well beyond his duties. You could feel it at every stop. His passion was engaging and the visit slipped away in a very fluid and fulfilling way. Thanks again
A different and touching Sunday morning in June. Our guide Lorella was very good at making us discover unknown details and explained with great detail stories and architecture To really discover! Thanks again Lorella!
Great experience, thanks to Simone who allowed us to visit this place with the right respect and an equal amount of lightness.
our guide, very prepared, took us on an interesting journey through time and culture in Milan. With its sculptures and imposing shrines the monumental cemetery appeared to us as an open-air museum worth visiting.
Visit with a very prepared guide! He dedicated 2 hours to it that flew. Recommended for anyone wishing to discover.
The Monumentale is an open-air museum to discover! If you then add an optimized itinerary on the most important works and a prepared and engaging guide, the result is an experience not to be missed!!
The Monumental Cemetery contains works by many artists of the 20th century. Works spread over a large area. With an individual visit without a guide you risk losing the most important and significant works of many artists. Our guide (Simone) last Saturday, moreover, was able to accompany us and illustrate the most interesting and important works. He also knew how to balance the tour making it particularly enjoyable and not tiring.
Tourist stay (2010). Monumental as it is called but it is monumental due to its sobriety and magnificence. You can see the graves of the dynasties of the nobility of Milan as Vincenzo Brigatti as well as the Bolge family with as monument above their burial a man sitting on a bench and imitating the sculpture of Rodin. Likewise, the plot of children, a moment of touching reflection and peace in this holy place.
Very interesting experience, full of historical and cultural links Great guide, congratulations to Simone and the tour organizers Definitely to be redone
👍 we had a very attentive, polite and competent Guide. He guided us through the monumental without ever getting bored. Thank you Massimo.
The cemetery itself is not paid, what I found most interesting is to see the types of carpets that exist, with beautiful sculptures, the cemetery does not have to pay to visit, and super well taken care of.
