The tour and tour guides were great, however the train ride was not as we had hoped. The seats are very small and if you have long legs you will be extremely uncomfortable. My husband is 6’4” and has long legs, by the time the train tour was over his legs were numb. We tried to get the other tour with the paranomic windows and seats with leg room but they did not run on trust day. I feel we got an old train. 😑.
This is an awesome tour! Amazing views and spectacular scenic views. We greatly enjoyed it. We had an amazing driver and our tour guide Gullermo did an exemptional job! I highly recommend it!
Very scenic train ride in Switzerland Pictures do not do justice to the scenery Bus ride is a little long
Nice experience to catch the Bernina train and ride along an UNESCO site. Beautiful views along the way on both sides of the train! It was a good way to see Switzerland for the first time!
We had a great time. Our tour guide, Gigi was great. The only negative was some of the other attendees were loud and obnoxious. Will look to do more of a private tour next time.
Very disappointing. First I was surprised we were on a local train from St Moritz. It made many stops before we got to the Alps. For the price I would have thought we would have been in first or business class on the train. Unfortunately we were on the opposite side of the train so was not able to get picture of the snow capped mountains because the people on the other side were standing up hanging out the windows to get their pictures. Then when we got dropped off after the tour our pick up at hotel did not include drop off at hotel. We had to get a taxi.
It was a wonderful tour with lot of scenery views during the bus and train rides to St Moritz. We enjoyed the tour guide, very knowledgeable, humour and told us lot of stories during the journey. it was a wonderful trip
The day trip was amazing and the bernina train a must see. The tour guide was so engaging and punctual
If you bus from Central to Torino you have less time in St Mauritz It better to bus to St Mauritz & return on the train. Views are spectacular in summer but I guess would be just amazing in Winter
Scenery is stunning both on the bus from Milan to St. Moritz and especially on the train. Train trip itself was amazing. But there’s a lot of sitting and it’s a long day.
Do not trust this operator. We were scheduled for a tour set up by Viator and run by Zani Viaggi. We arrived at the meeting point at 7:45 AM, only to watch the tour bus pulling away without making any attempt to call us.To make matters worse, we were greeted by six other paying customers who were also left stranded on the sidewalk at the exact same time. Zani Viaggi claimed we were all "late," but it is painfully obvious that the tour was overbooked and they used "tardiness" as a fallback excuse to abandon us. Leaving seven paying passengers behind at the exact check-in time is a massive operator failure, not customer lateness. Avoid Zani Viaggi if you actually want to go on your tour.
We had a wonderful time seeing many beautiful sites. The train ride with open windows was a perfect combo for taking pictures.
The guide was great and the train line was spectacular. As incredible as it was, I cannot rate this excursion a five simply because the operator uses deception for this tour. The photo you see of the train going over the bridge is NOT on this tour.
Our guide talked very loudly the entire bus trip Milan to St Moritz and then he continued talking all the way to Tirano. So annoying. I recommend take a public bus/train to St Moritz then get on the red train without a guide.
Amazing day out from start to finish. Sara was an excellent guide with so much knowledge of the train journey. Would highly recommend.
It was a long but amazing day! Bus, train, bus- gorgeous scenery and comradery. . The guide was perfect.
Enjoyable and highly entertaining & illuminating the views and the guide wete very useful and wisening and teaching
Following maps directions we went to the wrong location by the time we arrived to the right location we were 5 min late, not only they didn’t wait but they didn’t answer calls and didn’t respond to messages, the guy works there was so rude yelling at me the bus had left I told him I am only 5 minutes late and I called and sent many texts he said I don’t have time for you came back later I have other people to assist
This tour made for a long day but well worth the time spent. Josephine did a wonderful job of narration in both Spanish and English. We began with bus ride past Lake Como to a stop in St. Moritz. After some free time, and delicious pretzels and chocolate we boarded the Bernina Express making our way through the Alps to Tirano. Views were spectacular and the weather was picture perfect. We ended with a three hour bus ride back to Milan. Our only complaint was that photos from our side of the train were limited as passengers on the left side crowded the windows. Choose the right side!
It was a long but wonderful day. Breathtaking views. Great guide gigi(luigi)was very interesting and funny. Enough time spent at each place.
Great experience and well organised. Our tour guide Sara was very helpful and friendly and had a good knowledge of the areas visited. Her English and Spanish were excellent.
Swiss Alps beauty take you breath away. Spectacular!!! However, understand that this tour is only a coordination of your transportation. No guided tour and if your guide happens to be Manuela, you will not get much information throughout the tour. You get what you paid for, peace of mind of not having to do travel arrangements nor reservations, nothing more. The schedule ran without any glitches. I would change the name of tour to just transportation to St. Moritz.
Don’t trust the tour guide or the messages about where and when to meet has they change without notice. Tour guide unwilling to cooperate or assist. They left before scheduled time and left 6 of us behind. I would book this adventure with another company,
Was a good day. The first bus ride was an experience climbing the Alps in a large bus. St Moritz was a beautiful city. The train ride was great but the one coach was too crowded for the large group we had. The bus ride back from Tirano to Milan was about 2 hours long. Total time was every bit of 12+ hours
It’s was a nice trip & the tour guide was so professional , I would love to make it again with my friends
It was a good experience, one thing to note I wish there would've been enough time to explore the views of the mountainous region we sighted during our train journey.
The tren very uncomfortable hot stop to much short trip not good only the best and she don’t have fouled the guía Manuela very nice
I had an absolutely wonderful experience on the Swiss Alps Bernina Red Train and St. Moritz tour from Milan. A huge thank you to our guide and drivers – they were truly amazing! Everything was perfectly organized, and what made the trip even more special was their energy and attitude. The guide kept us engaged the entire time with great information, a lovely sense of humor, and lots of nice jokes that made the journey even more enjoyable. The drivers were fantastic as well – professional, smooth, and made us feel safe and relaxed throughout. The whole team created such a positive atmosphere and kept the good vibes going all day. It was not just a tour, but a memorable experience that I will always cherish. Highly recommend – thank you again for such a beautiful day!
Wonderful tour! Anna was a perfect guide- very knowledgeable but didn’t overdo the narration. Gorgeous views from the train & the bus.
Disappointing. The tour company did not complete the tour to the itinerary provided. We exited the train early and did not receive our second stop and free time in Tirano and received no explanation as to why. Air conditioning on bus did not work properly so it was an extremely hot 3 hour ride back to Milan. Arrived back an hour early due to less than 2 hours in Saint Moritz and no stop in Tarino. I submitted a request for partial compensation and was denied by the tour company. A tour company should give customers everything they pay for!!!
Amazing experience. Beautiful scenery and great get away in the hot summer to get some refreshing air. Our tour guide was a lot of fun and very down to earth. The driver Maximo was incredible . Well worth the moeny
I will first address some of the other reviews that suggest that the pick up point in front of Milano Centrale is hard to find. If you have ever taken a bus or train or have any travel experience, you will be able to find it because it is labeled as the tour company's bus stop and pick up point. Good things about this tour are as follows: The views from the bus and train of the Swiss Alps are breathtaking and the scenery and lakes in Saint Moritz are beautiful. Finally, Swiss chocolate is as good as they say and was available in Saint Moritz. Now for the not so good: One of my main complaints regarding the tour was the multiple languages. As a person who understands both English and Spanish, I didn't think anything of the dual languages and neither did my friend who doesn't speak Spanish. In reality, it was very hard to track the information given by the guide in English or Spanish because she often spoke both languages in one sentence rather than consistently speaking them separately. Additionally, for the English, she often mixed in Italian which I don't speak and so overall, information was hard to get and made the driving lack periods of quiet where we could relax. Additionally, the commentary was not particularly insightful which did not make the locations feel special. For example when we got to the city of Tirano, we were told that it isn't the city of torino and that torino was once the capital of Italy. This was the only fact we were given. The tour was mostly driving. As someone who has done over a dozen 10-13 hour day tours, the way to make them manageable is to have meaningful stops along the way to break up the driving. This was not the case here. There is a stop just after 2 hours in as a breakfast stop which had adequate time to order, eat, and use the toilet. But other than that you haul straight to Saint Moritz. Once at Saint Moritz we only had about an hour and a half to spend in Saint Moritz which was disappointing because it is a really cute, albeit expensive, city. On every tour I've been on it is hard to get every person to respect the time deadlines but I've never had the guide be late back to a meeting point. Twice of the three meeting times on the tour, she was several minutes late. The train is very cool, however you don't need over 2 hours to spend on it. After about an hour, the train was super hot and the wheels were insanely loud and my friend and I really wanted to have some time to get out and explore the lakes and other natural areas at the stops but you don't have that ability. After the train, which we didn't get to take all the way to Tirano, the bus again drives super far and we stop at another Cafe type stop which was a waste of half an hour because the bus has a bathroom and we could get food and drinks on the train. By this time we were itching to get back to Milan and were still over an hour and a half away. The bus itself had a glass ceiling which meant in the hot Italian summer, we were being blinded at all hours of the day. Overall Switzerland is absolutely beautiful but for the amount of money, I wouldn't recommend this tour.
Terrible service. Not helpful for any help. And the guide ask us to come ourself if don’t like. Super terrible service
Very unhappy with this tour not what described in itinerary. Description is misleading. Do not take this tour
I did not get to go. Immediately after I paid I tried to log into my app to get more details on the trip. My app showed "no bookings". I then logged in to the laptop website account. Again "no bookings" I then emailed Viator to let them know that, and that they had charged me twice. No response. No communication from Viator or the tour company ever came until it was too late. I asked for both charges to be refunded but they only refunded the duplicate charge. I had to PROVE to them everything I just stated by provided screenshots, ect. I still do not see that they have refunded either charge on my credit card statement. What a scam. And why do they even deal with loser tour companies in the first place (they are trying to blame it on me and the tour company)? Not only did I miss this tour, but much of my time and effort has been wasted attempting to clear this matter up. I have used Viator in the past, but seeing that they have no value for the customer I will never do business with them again. I hope you dont either.
Absolutely!!The sights were breathtaking!!! The bus ride to and back was amazing just as the train ride.
Very good and worth every $. Thanks to the Guide Simone very helpful and nice. Great views and overall awesome trip
Brilliant scenery. On the bus from Milan sit on the left side for a better view of Lake Como. On the red train, sit on the right side of the carriage for the best views, but let folks on the right side of the carriage to photograph the snow and mountains that you can see. Be generous. Commentary for us was difficult. Two reasons. Firstly the commentary was in Italian, which I don’t understand , and when it was repeated in English, it seemed like the specific photo opportunity had passed. Actually, very annoying. Secondly, the guide giving the commentary has/had a throat issue (unfortunately) which meant we couldn’t really understand or comprehend what he was saying. At times he used a portable speaker to expouse what he was saying - even in Italian, and even to one person only. This was unsatisfactory.
We are visiting Milan during the heat wave in June, and it was terribly hot, but we are so THANKFUL to have booked this beautiful excursion to the Swiss alps. It was like a breath of fresh air! Angelo was a kind and informative tour guide. He was attentive to each tourist and gave clear directions. Our bus driver was Massimo. He handled the narrow road and the tight turns going up to the alps masterfully. We were thoroughly impressed. No one got car sick. We would highly recommend this tour to others. :) ciao!
Amazing and spectacular views 360 degrees!!! It’s worth every penny. This place needed another extended visit.
This was a great day. We are noticing with tours on this trip that free time is cut into… There could be more history, the bus could be cooler, there could be music playing in the bus. It is hard to retain everything with three languages of translation. Provide water bottles and have more bathroom stops like on the way back too. These things would improve this wonderful experience.
Definitely bring a camera and light jacket The views are worth EVER moment to see We loved every second
Our tourguide (Simeon) was very informative and funny. He explains very well and speakes English. He also advises when to resdy our phones to get the best shot. Our driver drove safely and with precaution.
Beautiful scenery, and a lot of exciting information by the guide, good and save driver although Malijapass is difficult to drive.!
Everything was on time, staff was very pleasant and helpful and views were what we desired. Thank you
Tour guide is excellent and explained very well. The trip was well organised and orderly which adds to the pleasant experience of viewing the amazing, breathtaking scenery.
Fantastic trip, easily navigated. Tour guide really helpful and friendly. The journey went smoothly with Fantastic scenery Highly recommend as a must do
Gorgeous views and a once in a lifetime experience. Stopping for lunch in the Alps and to take photos created a lasting memory. I was expecting a bit more of an intimate experience. The train was extremely cramped, and most of the trip is taken on a bus. I was under the impression we would be on the train a majority of the trip. We had THE WORST tour guide. He told us he lost his voice, which made my partner and I wonder why he was even working that day. His voice sounded like Froggy from "Little Rascals," if Froggy smoked 50 cigarettes a day then got stuck in a garbage disposal. He also stunk of B.O. Bless his heart, he would point something out on the train ride, and you wanted to gag because of his armpit stetch. He also omitted information and forgot to translate portions. If I could I would have paid extra for first class.
It was one of the best tour experience I ever had. The schedule was nice, not rushed at all. Ample time was given during the first stop on the way to St. Moritz. Also there was lots of time at St. Moritz to explore before getting on the Red Train. Angelo, the Tour Leader, gave very precise and clear instructions to the whole group. Not a single person was ever late! That made it a pleasant experience! Victor, our bus driver, drove well and kept us safe throughout the whole journey. It was a nice gesture that the tour company booked out a whole carriage for the group. Makes it feel very exclusive. Overall, a great trip. Thanks again to Angelo and Victor for taking good care of everyone and making the trip memorable!
