Francesco was legit a true “foodie” he was super knowledgeable and we could really feel the passion he has for his craft. Additionally his understanding of the city and the food culture is top notch, even recommended some of his favorite restaurants that were in the area. Be prepared it’s a lot of walking but absolutely worth it

Itinerary
We start outside the magnificent Duomo, Milan’s most iconic cathedral. Your guide will introduce the history of this Gothic masterpiece and explain why the golden Madonnina is so dear to locals. A quick sweet or savory bite nearby sets the tone for our food journey.
Led by a passionate local guide, you’ll visit four carefully selected food spots to enjoy some of Italy’s most beloved bites. Along the way, you’ll taste a freshly made panzerotto, one of Milan’s favorite street snacks
Next, we walk to the mighty Sforza Castle, once home to dukes and artists like Leonardo da Vinci. While we explore its courtyard and hear its fascinating story, we’ll enjoy a flavorful street-style pizza.
Our final stop is the enchanting Brera District, full of narrow streets, cozy cafés, and creative energy. Your guide will share stories about the area’s artistic heritage and the nearby Pinacoteca di Brera, Milan’s top art gallery (external visit). Here, we’ll finish with a couple more tastings—like fresh ham followed by a creamy gelato or an espresso.

There were events going on and we could not go to the restaurant we were supposed to so we had a walk all the way back to something else Viator should have known that. The food was not particular to Milan.. We did not even get a taste of Risotto or Tiramisu. The guide was very nice and gave some highlights of the area. However, she walked too fast for older people.. You need to know what kind of clients that you have..
Francesco was a really knowledgeable guide and we got to experience fabulous food off the tourist trail. Would definitely recommend.
Francesco was fabulous! His knowledge and caring was very important to us. I would recommend skipping one food place because it was too much food in short time.
Meeting point was central. I understand stopping points can change depending on weather, number of participants and other factors. Our tour included tastings at Alice Pizza, Ciro Amodio, La Prosciutteria in Brera and a gelato at Vero down the street from the prosciutto place. Francesco was a wonderful guide, very personable and friendly. We got along well and we asked for food suggestions, which he gladly shared, and talked about life in Milano as we strolled the streets. Portions and quality at each place were good and we spent enough time at each location without feeling rushed. We would recommend the tour itself and Francesco!
Amazing food, great tour guide, a lot of good information shared. Michela was the best!! A lot of walking in between food gave time for food to settle, just in time for next treat
I showed up at the wrong meetup point and missed the experience. The tour operator was nice enough to give me a small refund for no show. I also appreciate their prompt communication
Our “guide” seem to have little interest in making any real effort and showed up 15 min late, so he rushed us through. I will say the the food we had was great.
I feel like you’re running a tour and you asked me to be there 20 minutes early than I should be there 20 minutes early and he was not. He was late. Got there at like 535 so we’re looking around the king that we were not the right place, which made us very uncomfortable. The first two staff were lame. I understand everybody’s different days when it was just a piece chef that was on the corner and it wasn’t very good. I feel the third staff was very good but she’s been the first step. It was a charcuterie board with wine, which was nice but he wasn’t very engaging and I just thought it was just OK.
Francesco not only took us to great places with delicious food he send us extra lists of don’t miss experiences
We luckied out and were the only people in the group so got to hear more of the history of Milan, ask lots of questions and get some great recommendations for restaurants. The food was plentiful with the added bonus that unlike other food tours we have been on at each stop we could choose our own food options. Make sure to try this tour out and thanks again to Francisco for being a great tour guide
Excellent & yummy food. Francesco is very knowledgeable and accommodating Cxxxcxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Had a great tour with Francesco. Very knowledgeable about the history of the city and all 4 locations he brought us to were excellent. He even provided restaurant recommendations for us afterwards. This tour is a great way to see the city with some food along the way. Grazie Francesco!
We had a wonderful food tour and found the experience well worth it. If you want to get a good idea of a city I highly recommend going on a food tour. You get to know neighborhoods away from the more popular but very congested tourist areas. For this tour, our guide Francesco was wonderful! He had great information about the food we ate, the buildings and neighborhoods we wandered through, and the historic sites along the way. This was our second time in Milan and we discovered Via Dante, Via Garibaldi, and the Brera neighborhood of the city, a beautiful part of Milan. I truly enjoyed it that we went back that evening and strolled, shopped and ate in Brera and ended our evening at the gelato shop we tried that day on the tour. Francesco loves his city and his excitement to share all the information and food was infectious and I feel more Milanese now than during our first visit to Milan! This was our second food/walking tour with Viator so highly recommend the experience in any city that offers it. Prepare to walk for about 2-3 hours, where comfy shoes especially in Italy and enjoy the day with local who loves the city and promise you will too after you finish. Thank you Francesco for a memorable and fun experience!
Our guide,Michiela, made the entire experience. Not only did she speak About the food, but related her personal experiences growing up as a native of Milan and connections to the culinary scene. She was fun and extremely personable with a gracious friendly attitude. She’s a great lady and I give her high marks. She gave us recommendations for places to eat. Great fun!!!
My original tour was cancelled because there weren't enough people. I was added to an afternoon tour, but that was cancelled the night before due to issues with the guide. I did get a full refund and communication about the cancellations was good.
During the tour we tasted numerous examples of local foods and gained some insight into Milan’s history and architecture. The tour was informative, but not quite as engaging as a similar tour that we had a few days before in Florence.
Great way of hearing a little history of Milan and enjoying classic food as you go. Our guide Francesco was brilliantly informative and dealt with any questions we threw at him
Lorenzo was a consummate resource and guide. The food and wine were delicious. Our fellow travelers were fun. All in all, a great way to experience Venice!
A lot of information of history and sights. Francisco was an excellent tour guide, very friendly . So much food, great experience
This tour is a great way to learn more about Milan while enjoying delicious food and great company! Our tour guide, Francesco was fantastic! We ended up being the only people on the tour and had our baby with us, and Francesco was super accommodating and flexible, which was very much appreciated! He gave us great info about Milan, and the food was delicious! We had a great time chatting with him while exploring the area.
This was an very filling food tour. I did not leave the experience hungry! With three of the stops, panzerotti, pizza and gelato, we had numerous choices. This was a nice change from many tours where you get what you get. This allowed you to match your likes but also expand your palette if you decided. The fourth stop was for meat/cheese/salad/bread/fruit extravaganza paired with your choice of wine. Again, more choices. Overall a great food experience!
Francisco gave us a wonderful overview of Milan on a very nice long walk with lots of history and wonderful tasty bites along the way / our ultimate favorite was Vero at the end which was the most delicious gelato we’ve ever had! He was so nice that he even helped us get on the metro so that we could get her way back to the hotel because we had no idea how to use it or which line to take!
The is a MUST! The beauty of a food tour is that you get to try local food and bypass the lines! Plus you get to learn the history of the food, restaurant and neighborhood all in an intimate group without the annoying flags to guide you. I’ve left this with a full belly and heart and a new friends from around the world!
It was a great mix of food, culture, and history of Milan, but also its comparison to other parts of Italy.
Francesco was very knowledgable and made the trip very interesting for all the family pointing out landmarks and places of interest that we never knew about or even seen He was also very chatty and nice to be around- he was very happy to answer all our questions
I had such a great time! We got to try so many great foods all around Milan. Our favorite part was our guide; he was very informative and had an answer for any question. He told us the history of many famous building, statues and locations. He was also very informative on the food as well. It was so cool to get to learn about Milan’s food culture and what makes their food so special and unique. I strongly recommend this tour, it was our favorite out of all of the tours we did. It was the highlight of our trip.
Easy stroll, great treats, and Francesco is a super friendly guide who made our visit an incredible experience.
Excellent time with Francesco who leads us around Milan through friendly addresses, delicious bites, and enriching cultural anecdotes. 10/10 We recommend everyday
