Andre was an excellent host, providing us with plenty of knowledge and expertise of the Lake Como area. All details were taken care of with transportation, making it a stress free and relaxing day trip. Andre provided great lunch recommendations in Como, and he was a joy to spend the day with! We would definitely recommend this tour, and we would love to come back and do another tour in the future!
It was only my husband and myself so Alessandra and as very accommodating . We got to Como in time for a nice boat ride on the lake then when we returned to the dock she explained what we had seen. ( she didn’t ride along , we had to pay for our Tickets ) it was kinda nice to do it by ourselves. Then she walked us to the city square and explained the different landmarks , the history behind them . She had purchased our return train tickets while we were on the lake so she then got us back to the station on time. We could of stay and lingered all we wanted but we had tickets to return to a viewing of Davincis Last Supper
Fabulous day in Lake Como!! We booked a a last minute day trip from Milan to Lake Como and it was the highlight of our trip. Our guide Lorenzo was amazing!! He provided us with so much information about the town highlighting the rich history and culture. He gave us wonderful shopping and dining recommendations. We enjoyed a fabulous lunch and ended our afternoon with a beautiful boat ride. Highly recommend this excursion!!!

We met our guide at the train station. We were the only couple on the tour. The guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The walking tour lasted about an hour and a half, then he helped us purchase tickets for the ferry and gave us directions to a restaurant in a small village. We were on our own after that and returned on the train with the tickets he purchased for us.
Renzo did a great job keeping the information shared interesting and personalized. He did an amazing job including the 4 year old and 6 year old who were with us in the experience.
We met our tour guide Amelio at the Cadorna train station. Train ride was comfortable to Como. Once there we took a break for espressos, then a walk tour through the city. The highlight was the tour inside the basilica. Afterwards, Amelio pointed out a few restaurants for lunch that were off the beaten path. Amelio was very knowledgeable about the lakes, city and region. He was an enjoyable guide.
Our small group ended up being a private tour. Emilio was a knowledgeable tour guide for the town of Como. Unrelated to our guide, this tour was very expensive and did not include the funicular tour or more importantly a lake cruise. We did expect to hear more about the homes around the lake on this tour. On our own, we dined in a cafe overlooking the lake. It was an hour by train from Milan and depending on where you’re staying could be additional time to the train station. Lastly, instructions to meet our guide were poor. Luckily, Emilio found us!
Our guide was excellent. Timing was good. Meeting point wasnt clearly communicated. Overall a nice experience
We had an absolutely fantastic half-day tour from Milan to Lake Como with Renzo today! From start to finish, it was a perfect experience. Renzo is incredibly knowledgeable and shared fascinating insights into the history of the lake, its stunning architecture, and the unique blend of styles that make this region so special. He also made the day so much fun, being not only informative but also kind and attentive to all our needs. We had the chance to see the lake's breathtaking beauty, explore charming spots, and even get tips for great shopping. Renzo knew exactly when to give us space to wander on our own and enjoy lunch, ensuring the day felt relaxed and enjoyable. We couldn't have asked for a better guide or a better day. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience Lake Como in the best possible way!
We chose this trip at the end of our Milan visit. It was an excellent decision because we had a terrific guide, Renzo from Your Travel Diary. As a local he had a wealth of information about the history of the Lake Como area, the city itself, the even recommended sites & local restaurants. Having a knowledgeable guide talk to you beats reading books & signs any time -- especially when you have been touring for 2 weeks. We also picked this tour because we could return by train to Milan after the tour with Renzo finished around noon. He handled our tickets and left us with excellent suggestions and answered all our questions! We were only caught short because the weather was warm & sunny. I think every family from Milan took the train to the Lake that day! It was crowded! We also planned to take a boat around the lake & we waited too long to purchase tickets --- all sold out! And a private boat was too costly. Our only other disappointment was that the shops were closed on Sundays (our fault we should have done more research). We were glad we wore comfortable shoes because we defiantly got our steps in that day at Lake Como! However, our excellent guide Renzoand experience was the highlight! We'll just have to return again on a week-day!

Our guide had great knowledge of Lake Como - current and past! He offered up great suggestions for local spots as opposed to touristy spots. He gave us maps, his phone number and explained things in great detail. Overall, a great experience.
The trip started off quite nicely, as we were met promptly at the starting point. Access to the train, and the discussion during the train ride was enlightening. Once we arrived at Como, the pace, at which he lead, the tour was quite comfortable, and the information, history met all of our needs. Our particular guide had actually lived in Como, and that was quite helpful I believe. Choosing between this in the full day tour, I think we made the best choice. As we had time to just absorb the history and the environment after the tour was over, without being overly exhausted.
The history lessons we were given was absolutely amazing. He pointed out delicious food spots for us to eat at and pointed out things we normally wouldn’t pay attention to.
The tour is a little pricey for what you get - 2 train tickets and a stroll around Como. Don’t get me wrong, Renzo is a fantastic tour guide who shared his wealth of knowledge of Como and its history. 10/10 for Renzo.

Our tour guide, Renzo Durini, took us on the this tour on March 16, 2023. It was an amazing experience, because Renzo gave us an incredible history lesson on Como and all of Northern Italy! I learned so much and it provided a great foundation to the tour of Como, where the dots connected between his history lessons and walking through history itself. Renzo also made great food and shopping recommendations, along with best ways to tour the lake and nearby villages. This was my the first trip to Italy for both my son and I and this was definitely a highlight. Renzo is from Como, so has a deep history and knowledge which added depth to the entire day. Well done and highly recommended!
This tour was absolutely amazing and a must do if you want a quick and knowledgeable trip of Lake Como. The tour guide was excellent and funny. He recommended amazing places and activities to do after the tour. We started in Milan at the train station and finished in Milan around 1:00pm. We had the rest of the day to explore Como.
We has an awesome day in Lake Como. Martino was a super guide. The pace was perfect for my wife who has cardiac issues. She was able to make it with no problems. Martino was kind enough to stay after and have a sandwich with us and share more details about Lake Como and larger Italy. Thanks for a fun day!
The best element was Renzo Durini, our tour guide. From the minuye we met him thru the end of our tour in Como, he endowed us with an unimaginable amount of history, background and facts related to Como, the multiple cultures and countries that influenced architecture and governance of the city and region. He was helpful advising places to visit beyond the tour and places to eat. He truly was the tour. I highly recommend the tour and securing Renzo if you can.
In spite of the rainy weather, our guide, Pietro, was able to give us a great tour of Como. He was really knowledgeable about the area and it's history, and was very accommodating to the mobility needs of my aunt.The company was also very considerate of our schedule which we are very appreciative.

Renzo was a perfect tour guide. He was knowledgeable, nice and laid back. He taught us so much about Como. He showed us where to eat and where to shop. He also taught us a lot about the history of Milan. Definitely worth the money if you are into history and learning about Italian culture.
On our final day in Milan we took this tour to Como. It's an hour on the train, allowing plenty of opportunity to hear about the background of the area from our guide Renzo, who is knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the city. The tour is of the city itself and doesn't include the lake. The stories from Renzo were fascinating, providing insights that you simply wouldn't get if you went alone. The only downside was the wet weather that got worse as the day wore on, so we decided against the Lake Como boat trip in the afternoon. Nevertheless, a great trip and highly recommended.
Renzo was a gracious the Italian Host for our tour in July 2018. We had some hiccups at the beginning and Renzo stayed with us and adjusted the schedule. The tour was modified and he provided a personal touch to the Day. He knows Como and shopping and eating in Como was divine, thanks to his recommendations. You can not go wrong with this tour.

At was actually the full day Lake Como with Cruise. Not sure if offered during the next few months, but definitely a must! Renzo our tour guide was amazing and very knowledgeable. Took the time to explain everything and he would adapt to our pace and what we wanted to see or do. Had excellent recommendations of where to have lunch in Como. We recommend this company and if you happen to get Renzo, you will not be disappointed.
Fantastic tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable and so friendly. We enjoyed everything. Highly recommend taking the cable car to the top of the mountain. The views were spectacular.
Don't go with the other companies, they are Excellent in every way. Our Guide is a Lake Como Native, Very friendly and Very knowledgeable. The "extra" money spent for the Train ride vs ride on bus was well worth it, much more comfortable and a good way to see the countryside. Quaint eatery for lunch was excellent (see pic). With our guide's help, even found some wine to take home with us. Also, we did the FULL Day Discovery Tour , not 1/2 Day. Again, well worth spending the time. We were not rushed and could have spent more time.
<p>This was a great trip. Our guide was a local from lake Como so he knew the best places to go! He was so knowledgeable and pleasant to be with. We spent about 3 hours with him in Lake Como he told the best pasta place for lunch - then we took the ferry around the lake - beautiful!! Highly recommend!!</p>

An excellent plan. Very punctual. The guide combines very well the information regarding natural, historical and artistic aspects of the tour. A very pleasant tour, highly recommended.
