Small Group Lake Como, Bellagio And Varenna Day Trip From Milan

We had an amazing time exploring Lake Como with Luca! He was friendly, knowledgeable, and took us to some beautiful spots and hidden gems that we would have never found on our own. He made the whole experience fun, relaxed, and truly memorable. Highly recommend Luca if you’re visiting Lake Como!

What a fabulous day we spent with the friendly and knowledgeable Luca, touring the gorgeous towns around Lake Como! Luca's co-worker met us at the Milan train station, provided train tickets, and got us settled on the train. After just over an hour ride, the train doors opened and there was Luca, waiting to escort us for the day! He showed us the charming towns, escorted us on the ferries (which transported his clean and comfy van), and drove us to spectacular overlooks that were off the beaten path. After the lake portion, he drove us to a fabulous wine and cheese shop, where we saw their wine and cheese cellars; very interesting! Another drive brought us to the train station just before the busy Varenna station to ensure we had seats for the ride back to Milan. So thoughtful! We spent a full 8 hours on the tour and it was such a fantastic day. We couldn't recommend this tour more!

Our guide, Luca, provided the perfect amount of guidance & information. He balanced our time in the busier places along with stops in quieter & more out of the way places with extraordinary views. We also met some local cows & goats & tasted some amazing cheese. A very long, but rewarding, day.

This was the best excursion we did the entire trip. It covered everything you can see in one day with out being rushed. We had a lovely meal in Belagio. Martina was cheerful And patient and informative.

It was a great day and value for the money! We got a great view of the area and Luca is a very nice guide and friendly person! He stopped at a nice local store for wine and cheese and another store for fruits and vegetables. In the end since there were only four of us, he dropped us off at our airbnb location and saved us an hour of bus ride! Highly recommended!

This was such a wonderful experience! I was incredibly thankful that I booked this trip over attempting to manage it myself; we also saw way more than we would on our own anyways! The wine and cheese cellar tours at the end really made the end of the tour unique and wrapped up very nicely. I would definitely book this again!

Luca was our guide. The fact that he was a local resident added much to the day. Very varied places with much local knowledge was wonderful. We had only five people in our group, just perfect. Luca showed us the lake and villages with some personal touches. His English was perfect (he lived in the DC area for a number of years)

The entire experience was wonderful. I loved every moment, from the departure to the return. Luca knows the best places for taking photos and finding great food. Oh my gosh! This tour was completely unexpectedly amazingly beautiful. Our family were on our 3rd week in Europe and final tour of Italy. Guilia was the best tour guide we could have gotten, and since she is a local in one of the villages at Lake Como, we hit the jackpot. She took us on the best VIP tour around Lake Como and some of the local small villages. We skipped the lines at the ferries and had. A private van with an amazing driver. This was our 14th tour, and by far was the best . Gulia had recommendations for places to eat, places to go to beat the crowds, and the most amazing views in Lake Como. If you go on a tour at all, make sure it’s with Guilia and Luca. You will thank me, and if you see her tel her hello from the Pedroso Family.

I had a wonderful experience with Luca having a day trip to Lake Como. It was very well organized and went smoothly without rush. I liked that there was a small group of 6 people only. With Luca we skipped all the crowds during onboarding and offboarding 2 ferries, he drove us to the best view points and, told the stories about local villages. We visited a local family business where they produce local cheese and age wines. You could buy many other things there. We also had restaurants recommendations in the stop points where everyone could choose a restaurant based on their gastronomy tastes. I highly recommend this excursion.

We had such a wonderful experience on our Lake Como and Bellagio tour. Rafaelle was our tour guide, and he was absolutely amazing. Everything was so well organized from the meeting point to where we needed to go next, and the whole tour felt very thoughtfully put together. What we appreciated most was that it felt like a smaller, more personal group experience. We never felt like we were being herded around like cattle the way you sometimes feel on larger bus tours. Rafaelle did such a great job keeping everything moving smoothly, including helping us skip lines for the ferry and every other place we needed to get to, which was greatly appreciated. One of the highlights was stopping at the most amazing wine and cheese shop, where we had such a great experience. I’m posting pictures, but honestly, none of them do it justice. Lake Como is so breathtakingly beautiful that photos simply cannot capture how stunning it really is. This was a beautifully organized tour with an excellent guide, and we would highly recommend it.

Myself, my husband, and our 17 year old daughter took this guided tour with Luca. Luca is a gem of a human being. He took the time to get to know the name of everyone in the group and to spend time talking to them about their interests - it was such a nice personal touch. Additionally, Luca knew everything about the area and where to go for snacks and lunch. The scenery was beautiful. It was literally my daughter's favorite area of our 10 day trip to France, Switzerland, and Italy. We were there in a heat wave and I can't imagine if I had been trying to do everything we did by ourselves. This tour was just the perfect way to see Lake Como and its cute villages. We started in Milan where Nicco (also very nice) met us at the train station. We took a train (very easy) to Verrana. Luca met us there and we had time to walk the village and do a little shopping. Then we took a ferry to Bellagio. Again we had time to explore on our own before boarding another ferry to Mellagio (I may be misspelling these places). We had lunch with Aperol Spritzs at a restaurant and then explored the village and ended with gelato. Everything was so good! A nice air conditioned van picked us up and we drove around the southern part of Lake Como before stopping to explore a cheese shop which was delightful. The samples of cheese were so good! Then we were transported to the train station where Luca watched us get on the train back to Milan. The day was so easy - just perfect. I recommend this trip for anyone who wants to experience the Lake Como area in a day.

This was maybe the greatest experience that I’ve ever booked! From the moment we met at the train station it was a VIP experience that included so many hidden gems of Como and insider access and history. Luca is marvelous and knowledgeable and his love for showing his guests the gorgeous area really shows. We were able to see so much and it was so effortless (on my part) and the pace felt really comfortable. I will absolutely recommend this tour to anyone going to Lake Como!

This is a great tour of Lake Como if you only have one day from Milan to explore the area. Luca and his team were well organised and the day went smoothly. Luca guided us around, without waiting in long queues, suggested things to see in Varenna, Bellagio and Menaggio. He also took us to out of the way places that you would not find on your own. It's such a beautiful place so don't miss out on seeing it. I would highly recommend Luca and his team.

Such a wonderful day with Luca and Mari! If you are looking for a great lay of the land in Lake Como, this tour is for you. Lots of great stops. BEAUTIFUL locations, wonderful food. Not a ton of history given, but definitely worth your time if you want a day filled exploring.

Our experience with Luca was wonderful. The day of our excursion, there happened to be a rather impromptu train strike - Luca met us at our originally scheduled meeting point and drove us from Milan to (and all around) Lake Como, before driving us all the way back to Milan. The whole time he pointed out areas/items of interest, made jokes to keep the adventure light-hearted, and really seemed to care about providing us a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience. I HIGHLY recommend this single-day tour with Luca or a member of his team!!!

Martina was a wonderful guide on our trip to Lake Como area. Having a van allowed us to see many beautiful vistas of the lake. Loved that we were only 6 in our group. Don't hestitate to book this tour. Well worth it.

It never happened. The weather had Orange flag warnings and it was pouring rain so I assumed it was canceled. That was my first mistake. Around 9:00 I thought I should call to confirm that. I was told I had to cancel before 8:00. I explained about the weather and he said it didn’t matter. Even if we couldn’t tour by boat, he would take us to a vinery and shops in a bus. I did not pay almost $370 to taste wine or buy a kitchen towel!! He said they didn’t cancel because of weather, yet the website says you do. I was so upset! We are almost 80 and on a fixed income. This was our “ last hooray” dream trip to Italy and your company cost me over $400 in unused services. I had also booked 2 audio walking tours for other cities and no one showed up to give us equipment or how to do it. You said you sent it to my email. I never got anything from you! After much wasted time on the phone it was established that all info went to a different email…. one I had never heard of. You have terrible communication with clients! I don’t usually give bad reviews but I am definitely writing one to Trip Advisor and Rick Steven’s Travel Forums telling people to steer clear of your tours! ( a nice man in Lake Como was sympathetic and kind about the no refund but said their was nothing he could do. His name was Luca ??. My friend and I did the Lake Como tour as part of a very small group of 4, led by our wonderful guide, Paola. After taking the train from Milan to Varenna, we were met by a small van and had a lovely day of exploring the area by van and foot. Paola took us to places that are a little “off the beaten path” for typical large tour groups and we felt like we experienced an insider’s view of the area. Paola is full of knowledge, and made the day very memorable. We really appreciated the small size of our group. Highly recommend!

One of the best tours I have ever participated in! The entire experience was well organized. We were met by Nikko at the train station who made sure we were on the correct train with our group. At Lake Como we were greeted by Luca, our fantastic guide for the day! He drove us to some of the most beautiful sites in the area. Loved visiting the wine and cheese shop. Luca took us to several sites out of the main tourist area. He was knowledgeable and full of pride for the area where he lives. Luca showed interest in each one of us participating in this tour. We had a small group of seven so it felt more like a private tour. Luca recommended some excellent places for lunch with a beautiful view of the lake. He stayed with us until we were safely back on the train to Milan. I will definitely book another tour with Luca next time I visit Italy.

This was the best experience I had during our trip to Milan, Italy. It was so organized, and the train ride to meet our tour guide, Luca on Lake Como was scenic. Luca had the entire day planned with some suprise stops! We took a boat over to Belagio and another town. He gave us time to shop and eat a delicious lunch. You can not miss this tour or Lake Como!! The van was very comfortable with six of us and Luca.

This was our first time visiting Lake Como, but it will not be the last. Luca was a wonderful tour guide. He was knowledgeable and friendly. He lives in the area, so he is very familiar with places to see and very good restaurants. The highlight of the tour for me (other than the spectacular views) was the visit to the cheese shop. The tour is highly recommended.

Impossible to say enough about the wonderful tour we had with LUCAfromITALY when visiting Lake Como in early March. What started as a rainy, cloudy day turned into the best small-group experience: walking along quaint streets of several towns around the lake, ferries across and back, shopping in delightful boutiques, sipping cappuccinos, enjoying lunch, and partaking of Lucas' lovely humor and expertise throughout. We couldn't have asked for more, and we highly recommend LUCAfromITALY!
